Don't be deterred by the chandeliers.. haha. I think it's funny how every review mentioned this.
it was pretty dead when we walked in at 7ish on a wednesday night.
I had the vegetarian platter (9.50)- featuring falafel, zucchini pancakes, hummus, salad and pita. amazingly good. i ate every bite. the menu is about 80% meat-a-tarian though so veggies be warned.
i had a turkish juice- apricot nectar; tasted delicious with my byob alky... possibly against the rules? but no one said anything to us... -

I don't get what the hype is about this place. Honestly, the lentil soup, hummus, and most items are just okay.
The owner is nice, but for being a bit of a Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food junkie and decent, this place is just alright. The price points are insane for what you are getting. I've experienced far, far better places and with great prices! (veg platters for $6!)
Call me a snob, but I think Greenpoint is seriously lacking in good food. -

NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!! I had ordered from this establishment via http://Seamless.com and it took over TWO HOURS to get my order. It wasn't even my original order as they had called and advised me that they had run out of lamb gyros. Seriously?!?! A Turkish restaurant that runs out of gyros on a Sunday night at 7pm?! So i replaced it with a falafel sandwich. 1 falafel sandwich and 2 hours later I am still waiting for my order. After calling them and asking where my order is all I received was an "I'm sorry." No coupon for my next order, no compensation for the late delivery nor any real explanation for the tardiness other than we're busy. I should also mention that I only live less than 10 blocks from this place. Completely unacceptable. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE.

Meat was good. Have had much better yogurt (tzatziki) sauce at other places. Baklava wasn't that good either.

I am new to the neighborhood and as I was stumbling back and forth from the subway I kept stopping in front of this cafe.. 3rd time I finally went inside. I have fell absolutely in love with it here.
The owner is a super nice man, the waitresses are very kind and I absolutely love the food. I am of Turkish decent so it taste like I am visiting family overseas every time I come in.
They have a lovely back patio with grape vines growing above head. Reasonably priced food and beverages. I for one love the 1$ Turkish teas and coffees. If you know how strong "our" coffee is then you know how much work you can get done. I bring my lap top or book and zone out here for hours.
So if you are looking for a place you can camp out and have delicious food and I almost forgot the homemade fruit and vegetable juices... Be their guest.
Plus its BYOB! -

Came here yesterday looking for THE place to get falafel on a rainy evening.
I looked at the menu and was happy about the prices. Its really not expensive as its decore make it seem. Service was friendly and attentive.
Too curb my falafel craving I ordered the sandwich in pita. The hummus was actually good. I thought it would be runny and not thick like hummus normally is. I got that impression by looking at the refrigerators. The additions to the sandwich were pretty good. They had red cabbage, pickles, lettuce, onion, and tomato.
Sadly the falafel were not amazing. I liked the cinnamon flavor but it was kind of weird. Never had falafel with cinnamon in it. Another issue i had with it was it was soggy. I like falafel to by crispy but this was far from it. I might come back but sadly not for the falafel.
If you are in Greenpoint so far best falafel are at God Bless Deli (surprisingly!) -

The here food here is solid, but not amazing. The prices seem a bit high considering the location and the ambiance. I had 2 friends independently say this was a great place, so I must say I had higher expectations. I got the Large Lamb Kebab and a Combo Appetizer. They tasted pretty authentic, which is why I think people have been inflating the ratings of this place. Is this the only Turkish place in the neighborhood? Maybe, but that doesn't mean it's "As good as it gets".

Went here for dinner on a Sunday night not sure what to get so tried it out...got falafel platter, which came w their really good homemade bread and some salad, as well as a bottle of some really delicious organic lemonade, 6.50. That is cheap. The falafels were good too, and different from the same old thing you get at a cart or whatnot. I think they did have some cinnamon in them or something. The waitstaff are really nice and polite, and it's a great place to go for some low-key dinner or late at night dinner option in greenpoint. Will definitely go back soon. Plus they got hookah!

Excellent Turkish food. Kebabs, etc, but not your standard late night at the pub-grub--here they really take their time and their offerings include homemade bread! Besides this the service is nice and the prices very reasonable. The decor is a little noveau riche, but don't let that discourage you. Highly recommend!

As a serious foodie I can only say good things about this place... Excellent food, good service... Their toast is to die for and I can't say enough good things about baklavas... you **must** try their cold appetizers.... Definitely a must try....
****I also heard from the owner (who happens to be very friendly) that they have a "secret garden" and once the weather gets warm they will have outdoor seating with hookah !!!! nice touch... -

Love it! They have the best Baklava I had in a long time. I've tried other places and nothing compares. They have a lunch special of $8 that gives you the works. Delicious. I can't wait to go again.

This place does have a very nice backyard and excellent service; however, the food is lackluster and expensive and the portions are quite small.

Best Babaganush. The decor is questionable and it's not ever really crowded but the food is always fresh. they have a garden and great food. Don't be afraid, try it. I hope this place sticks around because I'll die without the Babaganush ...

Please go here!!! The baba ganoush is the best I've ever had, and the falafel ain't bad either, definitely the best I've had in Greenpoint, or in Williamsburg for that matter. They use good ingredients and take the time to not just slop it together for you like other places. There was another Turkish joint here before 7 Hills that must not have done well. So please go here and support 7 Hills!
