Spinach & Cheese Taquito = Life.

    My new obsession.

Only problem:  They are usually the first to go. Sometimes I have to settle with a different type.

This 7-Eleven has been there for me for the past seven year, through the good and bad, summer and winter, breakups, makeups, and everything in between. It's one of the few constants I've had since I moved to Boston when I was 17 and this 7-Eleven rocks for the following reasons.

1.) Coffee bar. At least 6 different kinds of coffees, freshly brewed, with every possible mix-in you can imagine. Regular sugar, turbano sugar, four different kinds of sugar substitutes, cream, milk, all sorts of non-dairy creamers, five different sized cups, different types of lids, chocolate, cinnamon, marshmallows... did I mention the three different kinds of hot chocolate, including a vanilla cupcake cappacino?!?!

2.) Food selection. Five different kinds of Tribe hummus, all sorts of cheese, including at least 7 different kinds of Cabot cheese, gourmet cookies and crackers, "freshly baked" bakery goods, tons of fruits, veggies, Pepperidge Farm breads, and literally every type of soft drink, fruit juice, bottled water, energy drink, whatever drink you can think of. This 7-Eleven is on its game.

3.) Prepared foods. I've actually never had them, but I give them credit for having such a huge selection. I'm incredibly temped by their Buffalo Chicken Soup, taquitos (OK, maybe I've had one), and Chicken Fingers.

4.) Penny candy bar. Yes, you can mix and match all sorts of different candies into your own bag. I think it's $6.99/pound. I can't even think of anywhere else remotely close to Beacon Hill where you can do that, now that Sugar Heaven is closed.

5.) Slurpies. Enough said. Once again, huge selection, and usually at least one low/no calorie variety.

6.) This 7-Eleven is always the first place in Beacon Hill to have the newest magazines.

7.) Other merchandise. Not overly priced, considering it's so convenient. Cheaper than other local stores. I wouldn't do all my shopping here, but I also don't feel guilty buying a bag full of merchandise.

8.) Staff. The staff here is always pleasant. They've worked here forever.

9.) Location. Convenient on Charles Street. This is probably the best looking 7-Eleven in the world. Plus, there's something very unique about this location that Duck Tour drivers are always saying. All I can ever hear is, "This is the only 7-Eleven that..." and then it trails off. UGH! Annoying!

Yes, 5 stars- but within it's category.

This 7-11 is an anomaly unique to Beacon Hill. To anyone who has not been here, I understand how this review may seem overly praising, but I promise you- this place is great.

The frontage is pretty and blends nicely with the surrounding neighborhood. The inside is spacious, tasteful and very clean. They play classical music most of the time and the atmosphere in general is happy and stress free (I often run there at lunch to grab a soda).

Even more unlikely and pleasantly surprising is the food- yes, again, this sounds odd but it's actually pretty good. They now serve, among other items:

Turkey & brie sandwich on a croissant
Crispy chicken fingers with duck sauce
Sliced chicken with a roasted red pepper mayonnaise and lettuce on whole wheat bread
Ham & egg and Cheese on croissant (this is better than MacDonald's)
as well as the usual burgers, hot dogs, slushies etc....

The sandwiches are generally $3 as well and come with a free bag of Cape Cod chips (can't beat that on Beacon Hill!)

Also, you can buy household items (like cat food, band aids, Tylenol etc..) and there is a post office box area.

I urge you to give it a try- if for no other reason than to reward this local franchise owner for his efforts.

I agree that this is the nicest looking  7eleven I've ever seen. I also would like to point out that they hire clinically disturbed people at this location. Especially the dude with the longer blonde hair - not sure if he's there anymore, he scared me off, eventually, by telling me about himself a little too often.

I will admit that I ate hotdogs from this store on the regular when I had a night job on Beacon Hill. They made me happy. I could always live park on the corner and didn't get a ticket. It looks nicer than now that they renovated it too.

I like this 7 eleven.  They've even recently upgraded the place - improved isle capacity, etc.

I like this 7-11 because there are a few seats along the window facing the street.  If you're lucky - and there are no plumbing contractors or kids out of school there, you can get a nice seat and read the paper and stare at people as they walk by.  It's kinda nice.

Yes, it's an aesthetically pleasing 7-11, and it fits perfectly into the decor of the rest of Beacon Hill/Charles St.

That being said, it's a 7-11.  The prices are still higher than if you went elsewhere for stuff (CVS is further down Charles St. towards MGH and is more affordable than this place)

A must-see for any tourist trail... the world's prettiest 7 Eleven. Every out-of-town guest I've taken down Charles Street has wanted to take a photo of this convenience store. I challenge you to find me a prettier 7 Eleven!

Feels strange to write a review for a 7-Eleven. This one stands out though for: the big open layout (they just renovated the place in 2006), the classy decor (no bright orange and green signs here), great location and super friendly staff.  The best part is that you can bring your dog in! It probably violates city code but I guess Beacon Hill dogs are better behaved than other mutts.

I can't believe I'm actually reviewing a convenience store.  But this one has elevated itself from convenience store to hang-out, so I feel it deserves a review.  This is a large, attractive, clean, and well organized place, and it's gone above and beyond by providing a nice coffee bar and prepared foods.  We stopped in here for a little break when my daughter and I were vacationing in Boston in 2009, after strolling around Beacon Hill.  This place was just bustling with activity, and there was a lot of foot traffic on the street outside, so we had a very nice time sipping coffee and people-watching at the counter by the window.

This 7-11 is unusually clean and well organized.  I have gone in here many times when dying of thirst and not wanting a $5.00 double mocha latte ice cappuchino.  If you want a snack or are thirsty, a lot of us don't think to go to 7-11.   Next time, perhaps you should!

I challenge you to find a more precious 7 Eleven.  Other than that it's pretty regular.  GREAT FOR: magazines, slurpees.

We love this 7-Eleven. Slurpees and candy, Pepperidge Farm and Entenmanns, Gatorade and Doritos, wierd people sitting at the window reading their bookie sheets, dogs allowed to come in with their owners--awesome. The guy who is the manager (we assume) is super nice, and the other people who work there are also totally nice. It's also hilarious to listen to their cell phone conversations--no idea what they are saying, but they say it with gusto. We also love that they have a contribution box for the Stoneham Feral Cat Rescue, which we assume is a cover for something more sinister than feral cats. Yay for the Charles Street Sev!
