Review from Christoffer M.

Here's an annual way to get good food and do a good deed. Jean-Robert de Cavel organizes a week each June with various events to raise money for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Last year he and David Cook (the prophetically-surnamed chef of Daveed's) had a cooking demonstration at the Midwest Culinary Institute, followed by a sampling of their co-created dish. Also, wine and chocolate tastings. All in all, a fun, helpful time.
In addition to these sorts of high-priced fundraisers (this year features a Father's Day Brunch on Sunday and tapas at Daveed's), various restaurants (e.g. Brown Dog Cafe, kona bistro) and merchants (e.g. Madison's) donate a portion of their revenue from the week. Check out the website, head out to a place/event near you, and help research efforts for the number one cause of death among infants under 1 year old in America.
