If you're looking for the easiest way to get from point A to point B... Give 680 movers a call!!
These guys know their stuff!! I called only 1.5 weeks in advance to schedule a Saturday move. I spoke with Cirilo, who was super courteous, flexible and thorough over the phone. He took the time to make sure I understood exactly how their rates worked and asked pertinent questions to make sure he was giving us the best price for our move. Don't forget to mention Yelp when you call!! You get a special rate!!
On the day of, the professional movers (JC and Oscar) called us to let us know they were headed over 45 minutes early. Awesome! I'm a sucker for punctuality. They showed up, surveyed the situation and got straight to work. They managed to Tetris every single square inch of the truck with our belongings. It was utterly amazing. JC kept telling us he would "do magic" to get all of our stuff packed in, and he really did "do magic" hahaha. The two of them are such a great team, super nice, friendly, professional and quick! Our furniture and large items were wrapped and padded with care so there would be no surprises when we got to our new house.
It probably is important to mention that our new house is essentially three stories. So when we all pulled up, the guys definitely had their work cut out for them!! They never complained once about all the stairs, managing to carry two 40lb boxes up to the top floor at the same time!! Needless to say, by the end of the day we were seriously impressed and they had earned themselves a handsome tip. :)
We are forever thankful to 680 movers for making our move as painless as possible!! They will be at the top of our list next time we need to make any kind of move in the future. -

Thanks, Yelpers!!! I was moving and needed movers. I decided long ago (okay, less than three years ago) that I would NEVER move myself again! The last time I moved, I found someone on craigslist and, while they were cheap, I think just about every piece of furniture I had was damaged in some way or another. NOT with 680!!
JC and Oscar showed up at 8:45 Sunday morning ready to rock and roll! First things first of course, JC went over how I was going to be charged and had me sign my life away (including providing free insurance). Once that was done they started packing the truck. I had almost everything in boxes with about 10 bags of shoes and clothes (JC gave me a hard time about having too many clothes and shoes). They loaded the bags into garment boxes and rolled everything out the door. They wrapped all my furniture (even my cheap Ikea bookshelves!) so as to minimize any damage. They pointed out damage to items before they packed them away so they wouldn't be blamed - it was a long day of me saying, "*sigh*, I know". So far so good, I haven't noticed any new damage!
While I thought it would only take four hours total, it ended up taking an additional two hours plus an additional load! Guess I had more crap than I thought because those guys were MOVING!! I have to say, it was well worth the extra time and money to not have to do it myself!
I will definitely use 680 Movers for my next move! Besides being professional, they were both very polite and pleasant to spend the day with. -

We've used the 680 Movers today to move my things (including a large number of heavy furniture items) from Walnut Creek to Martinez, and I had a great experience with them.
When looking for a moving company, I've come across the number of firms that offered low nominal rates, but had a large number of surcharges and could not name the final price until the job was done. The 680 Movers, however, named their total price immediately with the assurances that it won't change.
When J.C. and his assistant arrived, I was surprised to discover that they brought not one van but two, in case they couldn't fit everything into a single van (again, at no change to the arranged price). They packed all out furniture and things into the van very quickly, without taking any breaks. They also brought rolls of wrap and a number of blankets to ensure that nothing gets damaged during the move. They managed to fit everything into a single van; and, when we arrived to the new house, they were just as quick and careful to unpack everything.
We are very happy with their work, and would recommend them to anyone who asks.

We used 680 movers yesterday, and are very happy that we did!
Our move was small - just a king sized bed from Walnut Creek to San Ramon.
The owner, Cirilo, worked with us to decide on a cost that made sense for such a small move. He fit us in between other clients so that the job worked out for both parties. We were very happy with the move - they disassembled and assembled the bed just as we had hoped. The truck was clean, and the movers were nice to work with.
We would recommend 680 Movers to anyone! -

I'm terrible at packing and when the crew showed up my place looked like it had been looted after a hurricane. They just jumped in and helped me by whipping my "can't find a box for these" items into blanket which they then put into a big secure garment box. The owner told me before they showed up that I could relax and they would take care of everything and he really meant it.
The two guys (I'm sorry I don't remember their names) were in motion the entire time. I had to force them to stop and eat lunch (which they ate while they were driving).
They've got moving down to a science or an art form...each guy carrying two boxes stacked on top of the other, behind his back practically running up stairs.
I have to say some of not-five-star reviews of these guys are quite nit picky and lame. So few people take the time to write positive reviews...I didn't want to be one of them.Comment from Cirilio O. of 680 Movers 12/2/2011

Wow! Marvin and Manuel showed up and did a fabulous job. Highly recommended. They were courteous, kind, professional and FAST. They did a wonderful job. This is our second move with 680 Movers and it's nice to know there are "non big-box" moving companies out there that really care and do a fabulous job.
If you need to move and you care about your stuff, contact 680 Movers and ask for this team. -

I used 680 Movers for my move from Archstone Walnut Creek to the condo I had just purchased. Cirilo, the owner, quickly contacted me and he did a great job providing me with all the details and answering my questions. He explained the fee structure very clearly so that there would be no surprises when it came time to pay. He was also very flexible in rescheduling my move on short notice when the bank postponed my close-of-escrow date at the last minute.
The moving crew (J.C. and his assistant) arrived right on time, quickly and efficiently cleared everything out of my apartment (and told me which items I was better off moving myself due to their fragility). Everything arrived at my new place in one piece (including my desk and hutch, which do not disassemble and reassemble well). And best of all, the move was completed in the timeframe they estimated so I paid what I expected to and there was still plenty of time left in the day to settle in to my new place!
I would highly recommend 680 Movers to anyone planning a move in the East Bay! -

This is the second time I have used 680 movers. Why I like them: they are professionals, they wrap everything, if they pack, its packed securely. Nothing was damaged in either move, including the floors and walls of the residences. They took down and reassembled all the beds and put on felt pads on the bottom of all the furniture as requested by my landlord.
A few boxes ended up in the wrong rooms, but they were used boxes and had multiple tags, it was an easy mistake to make.
When I realized the day prior to the move that I could not not finish packing, they sent a crew in the afternoon and finished the packing for me(extra fee as expected) and it made the actual moving day very efficient. JC was the crew leader and all the guys were polite and worked hard all day, even in the heat.Comment from Cirilio O. of 680 Movers 10/3/2011

I literally can't say enough about 680 Movers. We hired two guys to move furniture and boxes into 2 pack and move cubes (ABF UPack Relocubes). They packed them expertly, they did it quickly, everything either was packed tight or tied down and everything made the cross country journey with the minimum of trouble (we haven't unpacked everything yet but if there is anything broken, it's certainly not their fault, I don't think they could have done any better).
Even the movers we hired to unload the cubes were blown away by how well they were wrapped.
If we hadn't have moved, we'd certainly use them again, and I'd certainly recommend them to anyone.
I think the total cost + tip was ~$400, well worth it! -

I booked 680 movers for the second time last week after having a successful move 2 and a half years ago, and will say the experience was equally good. JC and his 4 man crew did a tremendous job moving our 4BR house across town in about 9 total hours, which was an hour less than we had originally been quoted. Nothing was damaged, the crew was courteous and friendly, and they worked quickly but carefully. Cirilo the owner kept us informed during the process and did a good job of having the right sized crew and trucks for our move. If I have to move again, which I hopefully won't anytime soon, I wouldn't hesitate to use 680 movers again

I'm going to break this down by the different stages of customer/business interaction. It may be a little long, but it should give a complete idea of what happened at each point.
First Contact: Excellent. We called and talk to the office manager, who has solid communication skills. She was perfectly happy to answer questions (and sometimes the same question more than once) while we figured out what we needed. She even helped us figure out what would be most cost-effective for our move.
Follow Up: After initial contact, the office manager contacted us again to make sure we were still on-schedule. When there were possible changes to the move date, she responded positively and said that 680 Movers could be flexible.
This required more than a few phone calls, and there was no surliness or irritation, just a desire for clear communication.
Estimate: The 680 Rep showed up on time, was friendly, courteous and professional. The discussion was direct. There was no feeling of sketchiness about the experience (I wasn't nervous or suspicious at all).
Changes: The amount of things to be moved got adjusted. 680 Movers had zero problem with that, wanting only to make sure that they had the right number of people on-site to help us move efficiently.
The Move: Movers arrived a little early. They were friendly and professional. They were careful with our stuff, even the things that were obviously not worth very much. They pointed out damage to items before they moved them, and were careful about protecting things. The move was made with zero problem.
Billing: We paid for the move the day it happened. The charge was exactly as represented by 680 Movers, based on how long it took and how many of their crew were working with us. There were no sudden changes, no last-minute charges, zero jankiness at all.
(I saw another review talking about cash vs. check or credit card; nothing like that happened with us. We paid with credit card, and there were no additional charges or anything strange like that)
Follow Up: 680 Movers followed up immediately after the move to make sure everything unfolded properly. They then followed up again a couple of weeks later to address any concerns we might have had (there were none).
Oddities:
*Did you know that 680 Movers will help you pack? Or even pack for you? That's a big help when things don't go as planned.
*I helped them load things. Most movers get cranky about that sort of thing, but the 680 crew just smiled and rolled with it.
I can't give this company anything less than 5 stars. The experience was flat out the best I've ever had with a moving company, and I strongly recommend 680 Movers to anyone who is planning to move, or even just wants help packing for a move.
I cannot rave enough about the office manager; her helpfulness and responsiveness to repeated phone calls was amazing, and that customer service is what made us choose 680 Movers over all the others. -

I booked 680 movers back in July for our move in August to move us out of Archstone Walnut Creek apartments. I was quickly contacted by owner, Cirilo, to set up the move. I immediately felt like I was going to be taken good care of and appreciated his very thorough questions.
The moving crew, headed by his operations manager, J.C., arrived promptly at 8:30am (3 man crew) and began to quickly clear out our two bedroom apartment. I was impressed with how carefully they treated our furniture and items. They were very helpful and continuously offered to take other last minute items we were packing. Lets face it, moving is stressful, but having these guys there to help with the process truly relieved much of the worries that we had about the process. The crew was friendly and professional. They followed instructions to the letter. The size of the truck necessary was under estimated and two trips were required to get all of the items. All of our furniture was carefully, wrapped with blankets and plastic moving wrap, then taped. Now that we've completely unpacked and assessed the items, I can say that not one scratch was noted on anything. What a completely superb job. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again or recommend them to a friend or coworker at the hospital, if they were moving. Thank You, for a job well done. -

This firm is top-notch! Oustanding service and total professionalism.
I called 680 Movers on short notice when I was getting the carpet replaced in my apartment. I needed my furniture moved out and put back in the same day. Not the biggest job for a mover, but they responded immediately and delivered high-touch personal service. The guys showed up at 7:30 a.m. on the dot. They wrapped everything, moved it, and came back in the afernoon and put everything back exactly as it was. Flawless!
If you need a mover that goes above and beyond the call of duty and doesn't cut corners, call these guys. You'll be happy you did. -
Review from C L.

I picked 680 Movers after finding them on Yelp and getting a quote from them, and because they had offered a Yelp discount.
The day before the move, they called to confirm the appointment and asked if I can pay by cash. They said that if I paid by credit card there'd be a 5% service fee. I asked if they take checks, and he said only from certain banks, but he would prefer cash, if not for the whole thing, then at least for the first two hours. So.. if they didn't make it clear enough, they really like the greenbacks...
The move itself went well. The three guys worked hard and packed everything carefully and speedily.
So after everything is done, the crew calls up the office and gives me a grand total. It sounded fair so I gave them cash for the first two hours and a check for the rest. I take a look at the invoice afterward and I noticed that it was the pre-move copy that had the start time, rate, and insurance agreement but nothing else had been filled out (no finish time, grand total, etc.). It's been four days since I've emailed them about getting a proper invoice and seeing if they honored the Yelp discount, but I haven't heard back.
Overall, it was a decent move and the price was reasonable, but the communication could have been less weird.Comment from Cirilio O. of 680 Movers 4/15/2010

We used 680 Movers last year (sorry, new Yelp account and just getting around to this review). My boyfriend and I bought a new house and were combining our two separate households, and we used these guys for both moves.
We were not impressed. My truck was on time, but his was late. They did not take much care in disassembling his queen size bed, and thus did not put it back together correctly at the new house. We actually had to take it apart and put it back together ourselves the night we moved in, since it was creaking and threatening to fall to pieces.
At my house, I had to remind the movers several times to pack my outdoor furniture, and they still almost locked the truck up without it. They had trouble disconnecting my washing machine, and ended up throwing some of the connective parts for the dryer inside the washing machine during the move. I wish someone had told me this, because when we got to the new house, the movers said there "were no parts attached to the dryer, and if there were they were still at the house", so we ended up going out to buy new ones so that we could wash the sheets for that night.
Not all of the boxes were put in the correct room, even though every box was marked on at least THREE of the four sides, AS WELL AS ON TOP, in big black marker with capital letters. Boxes clearly labeled "OFFICE" were put in the garage, and boxes labeled "BATHROOM" got left in the garage or living room, etc. All in all, I think we found about 9 of our 40 boxes placed incorrectly. Just kind of a pain for us to be moving heavy boxes ourselves (esp. given my bulging disk in my neck) and trying to locate items.
Some of the workers were friendly. One, however, was not. He did not seem to be overly interested in doing his job correctly, and I suspect he is to blame for all of the misplaced boxes.
However, the WORST part of this experience was that they damaged my $2000 leather sectional. When the piece was unwrapped in the living room, I could see clear indentations on the back of the upright portion of the couch. These indentations were about 2" in diameter and there were multiple identical round indentations. It was quite clear that in the truck, my chairs had been stacked up against the leather sofa so that their feet pushed into the back of my couch. I pointed this out to the mover, who said it would "bounce back on its own." I pointed out it would not (case in point, the couch is STILL damaged a year later), He then became defensive and said he did not stack the chairs against my sofa, but honestly, it was pretty obvious. This was a brand new West Elm Sofa and it was in perfect condition when it was picked up. Now, unfortunately, it remains blemished.
All in all, as I said, we were not impressed. Hopefully there won't be a next time, but if we do have to move again, we are picking another company. -

We move a lot. I mean, like 3 times over 10 months a lot. The last move, we used these guys. They were the best that we've had.
They were very professional -- friendly, showed up on time, communicated well. They were efficient and obviously had a lot of experience doing this, unlike some people out there who help others move only to make a quick buck. Nothing got broken or scratched, which was a feat, considering that we had a lot of delicate glasses and heavy furniture.
They were really great. I'd definitely use them again and recommend them to others. -

These people - Emily, Gustavo, and Carlos moved me last Saturday from Martinez to Concord.
Punctuality - A+
Attitude/Manner - A++
Work Ethic - A++
Cleanliness and care - A++
Fairness/Accuracy of Estimate to Final Charge - A+
The ONLY downside was that they brought way more packing blankets than necessary, which took up so much room in the truck that they couldn't get everything in one trip. I ended up having to move a lot more stuff with a friend's truck the next day.
I would highly recommend them but make sure you carefully discuss how much stuff you have in advance so they can gauge truck size.

Moving your home is on the list of top ten most stressful situations in life. It is important to have a real person to guide you through with compassion. I have spent some time on the phone with Cirilo (the owner). He has the ability to listen and perform with compassion. Integrity is the word that comes to mind.
My move was extremely stressful although it was a small distance. I was told to relax and they will take care of everything. It's funny; I was taught through example how to treat my possessions as they are meant to be kept : )
They will take extra time out of their day if necessary to make sure your possessions enter your new home looking the same (if not better) than before. You can count on 680 Movers. -

We just moved form WC to Concord this past weekend. We chose 680 movers. The crew of 4 was supposed to be there by 8:30 am but had to change it to 9:30am. At first I was a little scared when they called and "rescheduled" but they arrived just as they said they would. 3 guys, 1 gal and 2 trucks showed up. Once again, I was a little skeptical at first. But my fears were COMPLETELY WRONG. This crew did a EXCELLENT job. They did a walk through of what needed to go and then they went to work. Everyone was friendly, courteous, and hardworking. Emily, the crew-manager, coordinated the 3 guys along with helping out with everything else. When we got to the new house, they busted it out big time and nothing was broken or lost. (A couple of scary "ah-oh" moments but all turned out fine.) All in all, if you need a good dependable company that is REASONABLY priced, go with 680 movers. They ROCK!!! You can't beat the price for 4 "guys".
