I dragged a friend here while visiting the city and exclaimed to him...

"i want to live in this bar, i want to get married in this bar, oh do you want to order chocolate covered bacon?!?!?!?!"

my obsession doesn't have anything  to do with the bacon.
i loved the fact that we walked around aimlessly looking for the entrance and were intrigued to find the graffiti ridden, sign less door beneath the steps of a dark wet road.

you are greeted by a cozy nook decked out in mid century furniture and warm incandescent lighting.
walking down the stone lined hallway leads you to another nook and then another.
each having a character of their own.
one with bookshelves lined with books.
another with cozy couches.

perfect for playing monopoly or jenga with your friends.

the main bar area had a beautiful glow and comfy lounge chairs with a giant black horse watching a game of pool.

to top it off they had my favorite beer, Hoegaarden on the menu.
they were out of it.
oddly enough this added to the charm because the kind waitress offered me a similar substitute, which true to her recommendation was a great replacement.
that adds a star because i got to find a new beer that i loved.

we went around 6 or 7 so there was plenty of room to sit and enjoy a beer.

my friend was excited to try the chocolate covered bacon. a neat experience, but i'd rather my bacon and chocolate at different times on my palate, but fun to try nonetheless.

i'm a low key quirky gal, and this place suits me.

I have no idea how I ended up there to observe a wreck titled: camera crew, Tinsley Mortimer, her sister, their mother, some weird people in funny outfits that they thought were amazing but I had my amazing friend Sharon in tow, the evening was sponsored by Hornitos so all tequila was free. We bounced after an hour, maybe a bit less but the space is great looking. I need to come here again on a night when no event is happening and really take it all in. I need to play PacMan, too!

Drinks were great, snacks were good.

Every guy fantasizes about what their basement will look like when they "grow up."  (Never mind the fact that we've been pushed into the mancave by the females in our lives, but I digress)...

It would have a bottomless fountain flowing of Hoegaarden and delicious cocktails.

Friendly & cute waitresses serving kobe sliders, rosemary fries, and of course, chocolate covered bacon.

High Def TV's in every nook and cranny, Foosball, Ms Pacman, various board games, and a pool table.  Naturally, there would be a flea-market purchased wooden horse staring at you while you shot billiards that you would yell at to stop jinxing you.

I'd also have a personal DJ spinning my favorite tracks from my younger years that you listen to while laying on a plush couch, smiling, thinking about how much you love your life & how far you have come-  like, say, "Top Of The World" by Brandy.  Naturally, after a few drinks, you'd start rapping to the horse.  The music wouldn't be too loud, because then the horse couldn't hear my melodious voice.

I'd also have a chill bouncer at the door, who recognizes & says hello to my friends, and shows all the others to whatever the B&T crowd thinks is the new "it" spot.

:::looks at horse & points:::

"Pat B, on top of the world... top of the world, top of the world, top of the world...."

Jenga Night? YES PLEASE

After pushing our way around only to stand in a very very crowded room on Saturday, I decided to give this place another shot...on Wednesday. It's amazing how a space so big can be described as cozy, and how a game we used to play in elementary school is extra fun after a glass of wine..or cocktail...or beer ... or, all of the above.

As a fan of board games and drinking, and even a bigger fan of the two combined (what, you never played drinking clue, monopoly or connect 4?!) 675 Bar was the perfect place for me to host such a night..without the hassle of cramming everyone into a tiny apartment in NY, or me having to play host and stay sober.

Next time, I vow to come even earlier than 9pm so I can snag one of the cozy dens..preferably the one with the foosball table.

I love this underground bar. Everything is great ... the open pool and foosball tables; the chocolate covered bacon; the great beer list; the hidden rooms/nooks; DJs and great crowd. I have found myself drawn to this spot over and over again. Quickly becoming one of my favorite bars in NYC ... I think I'm moving in.

On first glance, this bar seems too good to be true. It's in a basement, there are all these cute little alcoves with exposed brick, bookshelves and board games, and the food and drink offerings are creative and eclectic.

It's only after spending an hour or two at this bar that you realize it sucks. You look around and everyone who looked cool when you walked in start to look more and more like douchebags. And then you use the bathroom and there's a bathroom attendant you're supposed to tip. And the place gets waaaay to loud to talk but it's not like anyone's dancing. Is there a term for reverse beer goggles?

Anyhow, even though they've put a lot of effort into the decor and trying to attract a certain scene, it all seems so calculating, like the experience is being sold to you in a way that's more apparent than I would like.

It completely makes sense b/c if you visit their website you'll find that they're just part of some large restaurant conglomerate.

This place is great. I had by birthday here a few months back and we all had a great time. They have several different rooms with themes and games. The drinks are really tasty too. I always get this drink that has cucumber and Riesling.

Overall, 675 has a good crowd although it can get packed during peak hours on the weekend. The location is great and the ambiance is even better. I highly recommend 675!

On Halloween, a friend and I went into the city for a concert, and afterwards wanted to get a drink and hang out. We didn't want to go anywhere too crazy, so we had looked up this place beforehand.

we had a bit of trouble finding the place (partly because I put in the wrong cross streets in my phone) but we finally found it. You make your way down some stairs and into a dark hallway.

It's almost like being in someone's really awesome basement. As you make your way into the place, along the right hand side are smaller rooms; one has a pin ball machine, other a wall of books, one had board games and a flat screen, and the other housed a foosball table. There were people in each little room doing whatever they were doing and we described it as little vignettes of fun!

We finally got to the bar. There was a bit of a wait but a kind gentleman waved the bartender over for us. The drinks are expensive, but they were good! We staked out the room wth the books. It was so relaxing  (we had just walked over from Irving Pl in the rain) and we just wanted warmth, something to drink, and to sit.

The music was amazing 80s, everyone was dressed up, no one was particularly creepy, and we just fell in love with the ambiance. The only thing was that we were starving, and we couldn't figure out how we could get food so we left after an hour to go hunt down something to eat.

We are planning to go back with more friends to stake out the board game room. We did not see the horse's head, so obviously we must go back for that as well as the chocolate bacon.

Great fun bar.   The entrance can be hard to find, but seriously, on a weekend, you should spot it based on the line forming in front of that exit stairway.  Hee, not a stairway at all.

I love the individual themed rooms, each quirkier than the next.  And they have board games!  Tons of them, including old school gems like hungry hungry hippos.

This is also the location of my favorite light fixture in the whole wide world, a full sized polyurthane black horse, with a lampshade on it's head.  This is as good as it gets.

In terms of the vibe, I'd have to recommed it on a weekday night.  You have a better chance of getting seats in one of the side nooks and really take advantage of all the 70's decorations for photo ops.  Late on the weekends, it can get really crowded, and the ration of popped collars rises sharply, if you catch my drift.  Which is not fully my scene.

Drinks are standard priced, not cheap but not expensive.  But hey, you're in the MeatPacking district, it's all good.

Why is there a subway station across from Hotel Gansevoort? With a bouncer outside?

Actually, that's the entrance of 675 Bar; if you can find the entrance. To clarify, it's a tiny inconspicuous stairway on W 13th street. And once the bouncer checks your ID using the iPhone he was playing games on, you walk down and enter a world anew. Well, just unexpected.

The bar is cozy and dimly lit, with exposed-brick walls and several private alcoves you can sit in, each with its own theme (library, den, game-room, etc). Then there is the large main seating area. Again, each table has its own style and set of furniture items. The decorations are all-over-the-place (aka the life-size horse lamp fixture), and they are placed all over the place.

With a full menu, many customers seemed to have come for dinner. Thus, all tables were taken when we walked in at 9, but we quickly stole a table for ourselves as a group left. (Reminder: it's Free-for-all!)

The DJ played chill house music throughout the evening, my friends enjoyed the drinks, the servers were extremely attentive, and playing Jenga (JENGA!) was amazingly addicting -- 2 hours must have gone by before we relocated to the pool table, to duke it out some more.

Last word:
Just come chill with your friends, and you'll definitely have a fun time. If they're boring, you can play games. But, if they're interesting, you've got a great DJ and tasty drink menu to complete your night. Voila! :-)

A fun place - Tuesday night, a Jenga contest.

Somewhat difficult to find (it's under the building and the stairway doesn't look like it's anything more than an exit).

Drinks are moderately priced, but there are pool tables, small rooms for people to chill in off to the side, and a horse in the background for photos.  Foozball in one of the nooks.

Sliders here are good, as are the ice cream cookies covered with chocolate (although a little hard).  Biggest difficulty is that it's definitely not set up for people who are handicapped.

Too long of a line on the weekends, though.

This place gets my vote for coolest spot in the meatpacking district. 675 Bar is located beneath Vento in the spot formerly occupied -- most recently -- by Level 5. While Level 5 was very clubby, 675 is more like a chill bar.

The best part of 675 -- aside from its pseudo-secret subterranean vibe -- are the nooks and crannies alongside the main room. One such nook had foozball (YESSSSS!), another had a wraparound couch and shelves stocked with used books. Very cool.

My only complaint was that I didn't try the chocolate-covered bacon. I hear this is the new rage. It was my own damn fault though. I was too busy watching the insane Jenga action. Next time.

Think mom and dad's basement minus the gravity bongs and sloppy handjobs.

A far cry from it's former incarnation Level V, 675 Bar is notably *not* chic, shiny or snotty.  The bar is charming and cozy and a breath of fresh air for the meatpacking district.  Outfitted like a 70's finished basement, there's a large main area with many vintage couches and areas to roost while there are also semi-private nooks along the main walkway of the bar.  The nooks are themed differently - one looks like a kitchen table with board games on it, the other a library with a huge bookshelf and mismatched chairs and another a rec room with a foosball table.  Each room has a unique vintage feel to it and feels strangely authentic.

The drinks are decently priced at $10-$12 for their signature specialty cocktails and $6-$7 beers.  I had a lavender, gin and raspberry cocktail that was clean and delicious.  There is also a decent menu of bar food including chicken parm sliders (genius!), rosemary fries and chocolate-covered bacon.  I didn't try the chocobacon because my jew-found love for bacon worried me that id become totally hooked and order multiple plates of it.  Seriously.

675 also has themed nights like Jenga night - which btw seems like an awesome drunk game.  Though this ended up being a decent date spot for me, it would definitely serve well as birthday gathering place (per other reviews).

Minus 1 star for the dude puking in the bathroom.  I dig "low brow" for meatpacking but that's crossing the line into bro-ville.  Murray hill goes below 14th street?  Let's hope it doesn't go that way...

The 675 Bar is unlike most of the other bars and clubs in the Meatpacking area. If you are familiar with the Meatpacking District, bars/clubs can get a little pretentious. 675 Bar is nothing of the sort, once get inside, you go downstairs into dark, underground cave. There are private nooks that are decorated in different themes, think Colonel Mustard with the Revolver in the Library. The bar also offers lots of board games for free and you can play with the friends - what could be better, classic board games coupled with some frosty beverages?

Drinks are also not cheap but not outrageously priced either. Definitely try the "Bandol Heights" cocktails, made with fresh lavender and raspberries! I wanted to drink it all night.

The music is pretty loud and the place is definitely jam-packed with people since it's not that big. But it was so fun, laid-back, and chill. I would definitely come back again!

So where could I go to celebrate the yearly birfday with just a couple of friends while not dealing with douchebags & not having to pay cover nor dress up...all while enjoying some CHOCOLATE-COVERED BACON??!?!

675 is where it's at. Places like this make me truly appreciate NYC, 'cause you definitely can't find this kind of subterranean stuff in good ol' SD.

I mean, the bacon itself was gift from the gods...but the chill mood, the decently-priced drinks & the fact that we were able to score a room all to ourselves (appropriately so, it was the Library room...and through my inebriated state, I was able to snag a book...upon my delighted, sober discovery the next day- it was a bio on Morrissey!!!) made it a spiffy night.

All the friends enjoyed the atmosphere & have made it a goal to come here on their own, perhaps to battle it out in the game room.

After consulting with my accountant the next day, not that much was spent considering the excessive amount of drinking the gang had, as well as the cornucopia of food they laid before us.

I was even able to get my Mexican jig on.

I'm going back. The End.

675 is a really fun bar. The best part about it are the board games. This is not a place you can easily find if you don't know where to look. The entrance looks like the stairs down to the subway. It is very dark and dungeon-like inside.

No cover. However if you come close to midnight there could be a long line and a long wait.

Friends and I got there relatively early (10:30pm ish?) on a Saturday night and was lucky enough to snag a game room. Inside the room was Operation, Jenga, and Taboo. Nothing tickles my fancy like drinking and playing board games. Everyone who could get their hands on a set of games were playing at every nook and cranny.

Drinks were really strong. Barmaid was really nice. Didn't have any issues with the service. I would definitely come back next time i'm in New York.

September is a popular month for birthdays. My friend had her birthday drinks here... unfortunately I headed over a little later in the evening (11pm) and had to wait a while at the door, in moderate rain, because they were at capacity. Props to the doorman for being the undouchiest doorman I've encountered thus far in NYC, especially considering it is in MPD, and not letting anyone cut the line. Really... "I don't want to wait in the rain" or "I'm here for my friend's birthday" doesn't mean a thing. Because everyone was there for a birthday. The amount of time you spend arguing practiaally gets you in the door if you just got into the damn line.

The interior is similar to Arlo and Esme. The crowd seemed less pretentious and slightly more mature. Their cocktail menu sounded interesting - too bad they were out of whatever I wanted so I stuck with my usual V&T's. $10. Not bad. There are tons of little cave-like rooms, bench seating, etc. It's worth getting there early enough and snagging one of those rooms. We were in the library... each row was color coordinated. We found a Star Trek book written by Shatner...

The line may seem long but get over your ego and wait for a few- it moves fast and the place is worth it! I love the music and the scene, been here twice already and loved it both times. loved the sexy lighting and low ceilings. attractive people always a bonus as well.

Drinks may be expensive but they are strong. This is a diamond in the rough for the meat packing district. Get there early to score seats, and have fun!

Very chill, very unpretentious, and very intimately comfortable.  Me likes.  I reveled in the vintage feel and the faint knocking sound coming from the foosball table.  675, you're like a cold steel knife against my warm skin - dangerous yet inviting.

Ladies night was like a scene from SATC.  'Cept we're all brunettes, with tattoo sleeves, and replace cosmos with scotch/whisky and gin (decently priced, btw).  As a fellow walking passed us put it, "you chicks are badass."  He speaks the truth.  Our room was perfect to play catch up.  Exhaling is about bitching, venting, and well, more bitching.  And boy did i have to unload.  Did you know that venting in a different state dissipates your irritation and negativity?  Tis true my child.

Once in awhile, its nice to get together with your girls in a laid-back environment and have them kick you in the ass.  As Jill put it, "you're gorgeous and you live a kickass life, STFU!"   Tough love works wonders.  Know what else will tickle your ego?  When the bartender says, "if i had your body, i'd walk around naked every day."  *blushes*  Confirmation that not all women are catty...and that the service here rocks.  New Yorkers keeps it real, son! (for my hip-hop accountant JT)....*hi5*

Cool rooms with different themes, sweet tunes circulating the air, thrifty looking furniture, and drinks that'll make you spill your guts.  This bar gave a whole new meaning to braiding eachothers hair.  And who do you think dominated foosball that night?  You're lookin at her kid. *flashes million dollar smile*  you may proceed to bow down.

Funny....shortly before finding this place I jokingly said something along the lines of "good god, is this going to be another one of those hidden entrances to the dungeon?" And, um, yep,  it totally was!

The place is somewhat of a mix between a cozy basement and a redecorated butcher shop. I asked around and learned that it used to be a dance club and before that there was some kinky business going about with a sex club. According to the guy at the door "if those walls could speak, boy oh boy the tales they'd tell..."

Nowadays the atmosphere is laid back, the folks are all friendly, and the people are on the good looking side. It's a bit loungey with sofas and all.

We were there to visit a friend for her birthday. I really can't say anything bad because our folks were taken care of and the crowd was a good bunch. The food, like pizza and such was ok, the drinks were decent and the games, like jenga were a nice touch.

Definitely a good find.

I went there on a Thursday Night

The Good  = Fun Atmosphere, Friendly Door Guy, Friendly Bouncers, Cozy setting,  Bathroom is pretty clean,  Music selection is a pretty good mix,  Good place to go with friends

The Bad  =  Bartenders taking their sweet ole time, music is way too loud for a small place, More Ice in your glass than the drink itself, not a place to meet new people, everybody has their own clique

The Ugly =  None

Final Verdict =  Definitely worth a visit and a revisit

This is exactly what I'd imagine a party at Harvard to be like. Instead of playing beer pong in a cold and drafty frat house basement, 675 Bar is for the well funded scholarship kids at that other college you couldn't get into, let alone pay tuition for. Here, the student board can afford to provide foosball tables and shagtastic couches for your leisure.

I love the room nooks with different games and themes. We ended up in the room with the busted pinball machine. Figures. The crowd's semi-diverse for the area. Lots of casual people looking for a dive, as well as the spillover from the other clubs around the corner.

My $12 'Two Islands' cocktail was interesting, but not $12 special. I have to try the chocolate covered bacon. Really though, I need to hire friends for a night to play games with me here or at least keep me company. Feels like college all over again.

I've got the cautious optimism...I would normally give 3 stars but the 4th star is really because in this particular area, they do things slightly differently and that is commendable. It's like a bit of Williamsburg chic came to MPD chic and that's what you got.

It's really more of a 3.5 stars kind of place for now. The best thing about this lounge is the place itself, the brick, the separate rooms, the uncrowded direct path to the bathroom (so rare). Plenty of places to park, etc.

Oh and 4 dollar Miller High Life bottles in the lower Meatpacking? That's a good option. While the pints are small, I was enjoying the Peak Amber Ale as well.

If you're going to get a cocktail, you might as well do their 10 dollar menu drinks because you'll save two bucks on just ordering a cocktail off the menu, or at least that was the case with a gimlet.

If you get here early, it's a wonderful spot. Like I'm talking 10pm. It's really nice, not crowded, super chill. Even as the night wore on and the crowd really started to pour in, the service was excellent. In that area, you never get nice people. All the staff was incredibly polite, and that deserves 3 stars on it's own.

Basically you wait in line (again, get there early, they supposedly have a low max capacity so things don't get ridiculous), can wear sneakers, and get downstairs. There's the carved out recesses/rooms on the right side with the main lounge area with coffee tables and seating on the left, with the bar at the far left next to the DJ. Your path straight ahead is the bathroom and it's always uncluttered, it was so nice.

My problem was with the crowd that showed up on Friday later on, I was kind of half expecting the dream to be over as when you have a cluster of bars with a similar crowd (this area gets so many negative points for pretention) unless the bar is worlds away in demeanor you will have overflow. A lot of the dudes were a bit old for the clubs and a bit orange. The women were actually a nice mix of different styles and ages. There weren't too many hipsters here, but if this place were anywhere else, it'd definitely take on a different patronage.

The key thing is, people felt comfortable here. Even the d-bags weren't ruining much with the exception of a jorts-sporting young'un shaking her business a bit too close to our space. We're talking inches.

I would love to see this place on a weekday night; hopefully the music won't be blaring quite so loud (if you're going to do away with the Level V club, at least manage the volume).

Chill bar without all the pretentious vibe of your typical meatpacking type place. Good layout that usually gets a decent scene. DJs need to be upgraded and music volume could use some adjusting. Prices arent cheap but certainly not ridiculouss given the location and the side rooms are pretty cool. Overall I like this place and with some minor tweaks it could be really good.

I love the entire concept of not taking yourself too seriously, and creating a stylish yet fun place to have a beer, nosh, and play Connect Four, Foosball, or Yatzee.

I turned older this weekend and as a result of my pushy friends being , well, pushy - I needed to celebrate this dubious event.

The thing is - I actually *do* have friends, most of which want to party with me. Why this is true, I am still trying to figure out, but when the RSVPs started stacking up on the evite - my plans for a quiet night out quickly changed.

And I was stumped at what to do. So I contacted the lovely Gia V., and she told me about this place. She also said that I was guaranteed to have a great time with a large group of people - and she was abso-effin-loutely right. Gia my sweet, you rock.

So what made this shindig so special? Well let's say it was because there was no cover? That Kenny, the oh-so-sweet bouncer actually wished me a happy early birthday and then when the hour arrived (since we were there all night) he remembered to wish me a "happy birthday"? Maybe it was because the drinks are inexpensive, plentiful and really, really tasty. My violette creme cocktail was lip-smacking. Or it could be because from the manager, to our waitress Missy (or Misty?) to everyone else working at this spot was really accommodating and as people piled in, service was kept up with a smile.

The side rooms with games and cool retro lounging were snapped up immediately, but we were able to hang out by the pool table and the horse and generally cause our own ruckus. Tequila-shot-drinking, crazy-dancing, pool-playing, horse-posing ruckus.

Thank you, 675 Bar, for making an otherwise painful transition into adulthood something fantastic to remember.

As good as it gets, baby.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this underground bar but I knew it had to be good. Once again, this was one of Steve's suggestions (which are always good) so it was a guaranteed fun time.

I loved how when you enter the bar it has a tunnel like feel to it with surprise rooms each equipped with games and books. We got there late on a Friday night so we didn't get to sit in one of them but that was ok. It gave us a chance to explore the rest of the place.

We had a couple of drinks and took pictures with the random horse besides the pool table. I wonder how many people have tried to ride that horse after too many drinks. ;)

Being that we'd been drinking for hours we were not there for very long but I can see myself back here in the future!

I really like this bar because of the atmosphere and the great service we received there.  This is probably the most unpretentious and chill bars in the Meatpacking district.  The drinks are priced well and the small private rooms make it a great place to have a party with a big group of friends.
My girlfriend and I were hanging out in the biggest of the rooms for a few hours, and the managers asked us to move over to a smaller room so a larger party could use our room.  Even though we really didn't feel inconvenienced , the manager gave us two appetizers on the house.
We tried the Mama's Meatballs and the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, which were both really good!
I will definitely become a regular here and recommend it to anyone.

SO much better than the old level V! there aren't enough stars on yelp to help me express that.

a bit heavy on the untz untz house for a sunday night but fun nonetheless.  prices are reasonable for meatpacking with correspondingly sized drinks.  some might find that annoying but would rather have a tasty smaller drink for a reasonable amount (about $9ish) than a mega sized cup of well.

game selection is great, wish they had more than one hungry hungry hippo.  i was hungrily hungrily eying it as we settled on scrabble.  a very fancy rotating board scrabble mind you.  would also be nice if the games requiring pen & paper came with it but the bartender was happy to oblige.  be sure to return your pens.  and keep all the board game pieces together.  that's just proper.

Meatpacking's interpretation of Williamsburg.

Unpretentious, moderately good looking, excellent (populist but not poppy) deejay on the day that I went --a Saturday--, got three weak pours of vodka & pineapple (-1 star), a place where strangers actually talk to each other.

Will be back.

I love that this place is atypical for Meatpacking district.  The vibe is chill, and the people are cool.  It sort of feels like you're walking into a cave with a great interior decorator.  They even have these nice little rooms where you can sort of take-over and have your own private party.  Complete with board games!  I have to say that if I hadn't been in one of these rooms (the one with the foosball), I probably would've felt this place was too crowded.  It looked like it was pretty packed, and there was quite a line.  But it seemed to move fast based on how quickly my friends were coming inside!  And the bathroom never had too big a line.  That's a plus!

Finally after months of social anguish I've found my new favorite bar.

Why I'll Never Pass On This Place:

No Douchebag Doorman: This place already has a great reputation for being unpretentious, but the fact that Kenny the doorman apologized for the all of 5 minute wait, annnnnd didn't push bottle service on me - Well that says it all.

Something for Everybody: 675 use to be the swanky Level V, but they've ditched all the red lighting and candle lit tables for what seems like the Game Room you always begged for in your parents basement. There's a space for everyone: Giant Real Estate Mogul? Put your skills to the test over a game of monopoly! Sports Jock? Spin the handles and make it to the goal at the Fooseball table. Ever the Book Worm? Feel at home in the small "Library" alcove. Gamblers get your cards out, Gamers get ready for Pac-Man and for the real kids duel it out with red and black chips from Connect Four.

Eat,Drink......Crip Walk?: You'll find a decently diverse crowd here and it's not exactly the place where you need to put on hard bottom shoes. Cocktails go for $10 (Wooohooo!) and beer's $5 plus for a few extra dollars you can snack on Mini Pastrami Sandwiches or Pork and Veal Meatballs. For these sort of prices it's no wonder I saw a man crip walking around the dancefloor!

Really Something Special: Definitely a reason to come back to MPD if your not in the mood to drop another $300 before you even walk inside. I can see myself here on a Thursday night, or with friends as an after dinner hangout.

Super fun bar! I went here for a book launch and the drinks were yummy, appetizers were tres yummers, and there were so many fun little rooms esp. the foosball table room! It's very meatpacking cool, but the prices were reasonable for the city. Definitely will take my out of towners here.

Have been wanting to check out 675 Bar for some time now, but it just never seemed to work out. My previous attempt was thwarted one Sunday night when I learned they weren't open. The other night's attempt was successful.

Walk down some stairs, step over a puddle of mystery liquid (likely water) that is slowly seeping through the cracks in the concrete, then step through a graffiti covered door. The interior feels a bit like a labyrinth, as though one wrong turn and you will be lost forever. But in all honesty, I don't think I would mind being lost in here for a while (not forever though, that's just too long). Advance further inside, down the corridor and you see offshoot rooms; some with tables and plush chairs and another with foosball. Then the space opens up and you are greeted by a long bar, pool table and more comfy chairs and tables. AND Jenga! Lots and lots of Jenga. Everywhere. Until two weeks ago, I hadn't seen Jenga in almost a decade, but I like the trend that has been happening recently. I later come to find out that Tuesday nights host a Jenga Tourney; I'll have to check that out some time. One thing puzzled me though: I couldn't quite make out the purpose of the white couch-like things that lined the corridor. They almost looked like the backs of really nice, plush, leather booths. I guess it'll just be another of life's great mysteries, kind of like the little blob-things in Orbitz Soda (come on, you know what I'm talking about).

They have a few beers on tap, a few bottles and a whole host of specialty drinks and snack menu items. I didn't peruse the menu too much as I was focused on other endeavors. I did manage to play a little foosball AND kicked some ass (granted half the goals we scored were on our own self...).

Overall a really chill spot to grab a drink and relax with some friends. I would be curious to see the crowd on a busy weekend night as a friend has told me he's had difficulty getting in before and ultimately gave up. I hope that it was due to so many people inside and not that it becomes your typical Meatpacking / "Place to be Seen" spot.

We came here the night it opened -- May 1st, 2009!! (no cover..!)

This is an underground loungey bar and I like the atmosphere. The people this place brings out are not your high-maintainence beezys. Everyone here is chill, lax, and has some sort of unique style to them.

Drinks here are about $9+. Decent for a bar/lounge in Manhattan so I'm not complaining! I have to comment on one bartender though. I don't know if she's generous or new but when I asked for 4 shots of Goose, I ended up with what we call double shots in San Francisco. They were huge! I'm glad she gave us such a great amount of only having paid for single shots. Props to that girl bartender...whoever you are!

Awesome, awesome bar. Not crowded, as they do start a line around 11pm, but not pretentious either. Definitely a welcome addition to a neighborhood full of obnoxious establishments if you ask me. No dancing here, which I was happy about. Love all the exposed brick -- sort of like Arlo & Esme but way, way less packed and sweaty. Plenty of seating too. The DJ was spinning decent tunes... definitely targeting the 25-30 age range.

The small rooms along the corridor are going to make this place stand out, since each room looks like a room out of Natalie Portman's house from film Garden State. One has a TV, one has an old-school Pac-Man game, one has a foosball table, one has a small library (organized by book color)... each room has a feeling that the furniture may be slightly seedy and have come from Craigslist, but was deliberately picked out. Locking down one of these spaces for a few friends will make a night at 675 solid.

Beer selection was good, and drafts for $5.50 are a steal in this neighborhood... Six Point on tap (Sweet Action, was on hand when I was there) and a couple of very good options in bottles as well. The drink menu was adventurous for sure, with lots of ingredients I've never even heard of, but which I'll definitely try next time I am here and drinking liquor instead of beer. The small food menu seemed decent and I'd probably give it a shot, if only because this bar is a part of the B.R. Guest group. Plus, it's hard to say no to chocolate covered bacon, which is indeed one of the dessert options.

I will definitely be back here, but I just hope it doesn't blow up and become more like the rest of the bars & lounges in this frustrating neighborhood. As long as I arrive before the line starts, I'll be enjoying 675 Bar for a while.

The one bad - the musty, funky smell when you first walk in.  Good news is - you get used to it pretty quickly.

The many goods - good bar music - a mix of hip hop and 80s stuff,  lots of seating, drinks that weren't hideously expensive, and a mostly nice crowd.  There was one aggressive dude with an umbrella who poked my friend for apparently flirting with aggressive dude's wife.  But you can't really fault bars for one stinker with a pointy umbrella.

I had a super fun night, didn't spend a million dollars, and would totally come back.

When you walk down the stairs and enter the underground, cavernous, and dimly-lit 675 Bar. You will feel a sense of nostalgia, not because it used to be Level V, but because of all the fun games that they have. They have tables set up for Monopoly, Connect 4, Candyland, cards, and Clue which I think is an awesome idea. There is also Pacman, Foosball, Darts, and a Pool table.

We left Ono and were so surprised to see a non pretentious bar across the street. It seemed like everyone was cool, laid back, and approachable including Kenny at the door and the guy from Colorado who was giving everyone crip-walking lessons in the dance area.

The drinks were a lot cheaper than everything else in the area which was a nice surprise and they have a bar menu with Swedish meatballs and French Bread pizza. I think 675 Bar is definitely a step in the right direction for the Meatpacking District. It's nice to have fun and not have to buy a bottle or deal with promoters.
