I would rate 675 BAR with 4.5 stars if I could
The only main flaw about this place is the line outside... The bouncers will make you WAIT... Basically the line gets so bad that 2 out of 5 times my boys and I had the patience to stay on line and got in... A lot of girls come out from inside to kinda (I like to call it) Flirt-suade their ppl to come in, but the bouncers didn't budge....
If you can pregame less and a) get here early and, b) get passed the line then you are def gonna enjoy this chill ass place -

I went there last friday, too many line there and didn't move. I saw lots of people left because line didn't move at all in 30min.
Hour later finally got in.
Once get inside there were not many people there.
Door guys should know how to control it more, otherwise they lose bar sale.
Or I they try to be just pretend as so many people inside and line guys as promotion.
We are not there for just standing outside... -
Review from Hong L.
Going into 675 Bar felt like going into a secret underground organization. You walked downstairs into this graffiti door and enter a narrow corridor lined with bricks. As you walk down the corridor, on your right hand side you see private rooms (one with a foosball table; one as a library den) with different themes ... on your other side, you see the main bar area with bottle service tables and an open space. On a Friday night at 11pm the bar was extremely packed - so much for feeling like I was part of a secret organization.
The drinks are your typical NY priced drinks and I would have enjoyed the themed rooms if it were so crowded. I had security guards always telling me and my friends to move out of the main doorways and corridor. Grant, I understand why but there is no space. The music plays a variety of Top 40s, Pop, Hip Pop, Techno and really encourages everyone to start grooving to the music.
I think I would have a better experience if it wasn't so crowded. -

This is a solid bar/lounge in MePa. I'd describe it as the less attractive & conventionally popular, but much friendlier sibling to other clubs in the area. There are aspects of 675 being related to the typical MePa club, like the interior which is far nicer than an average bar, or the house/top 40 music you'll hear on any given night out. But there are clear characteristics to distinguish 675 from its surroundings.
For starters, there is no hassle at the door. You're getting in without judgement. I mean, unless you look like a homeless person - but that's the style now so I guess anything goes.
The drinks may be on the pricier side, but are relatively "cheaper" considering the location.
There is a dance floor, where some people dance, most of whom will be terrible at it. If you're not dancing, then you're probably lounging around because there is ample seating here. Or you may be playing pool, foosball, or even jenga. Kind of like a college house party vibe in that sense but with less underaged hooligans and a bit more suits & ties.
Great place to come if you want to hang out by MePa but are not up for all the clubbing shenanigans. -

There is seriously a bar in meatpacking district that is chill, has nice bouncers, has nice bartenders, with a crowd that's not pretentious or trying way too damn hard.
675 Bar is an oasis in what can be the most annoyingly shallow party area in the Manhattan. I do still enjoy being shallow and uptight at times so don't judge me. However, when I am not in the mood for that type of scene 675 Bar is now my spot.
They have tvs to watch sports, a pool table, little rooms off to the side where you can play games like Jenga, and free coat check. Now, I've only been during the week, but from what other Yelpers say the chill atmosphere disappears on weekends. I don't find that hard to believe considering I've walked by on weekend nights and the line is stupid long.
Nothing but love for this place. Can't wait to go back. -

Cute little rooms that are tucked away as well, so fun! -

Whatever you're in the mood for, this bar's got it.
It's a date scene - ask for the Library Room.
It's a 'catch up with a girlfriend and grab a drink' scene - go on a weekday.
It's an 'unleash your inner child' scene - with pool, foosball, jenga, etc to play.
It's a 'let's get crazy drunk and party' scene - if you're daring to go on a weekend.
They're always welcoming - bouncer/bartender aren't the pretentious/meatpaking type which I love.
Oh and on National Peanut Butter Day, they had candy dishes of Reese's :) -

Love the chill vibe that goes down during the week...not a big fan of 675 bar's alter ego on the party crack version. Wish I could explain using a venn diagram, but this will have to do for now:
Chill version:
- Board games, so many.
- Lights, dim but I can see things. Like who I'm sitting next to.
- Music: As if you typed MGMT into Pandora
Chill version + Party Crack version:
- $11, $12 drinks: nice and strong, mixed well
- Pool and foosball tables: nice. (although the foosball table is slanted so one side always scores more than the other, and multiple parts are missing)
- Must utilize the waitress service if you want to sit down. If you order from the bar, you need to stand the entire night. I repeat: if you sit at any table, you are no longer allowed to order from the bar. You must order from the waitress...who will put orders only on one tab. That's the rule: one tab per table only. And yes, they enforce this. 2 separate waitresses yelled at my friends the entire night for ordering from the bar when they've just arrived before I had time to rush over and warn them. They actually track you down and ambush you.
- Free coat check
- No cover
Party Crack Version:
- Only jenga allowed during weekends: must request from waitress
- Way too dark; you're spending the entire night peering into people's faces to check who you're talking to
- Way too loud: I was hoarse from screaming into peoples ears within a half hour.
- DJ was awful...spun techno and techno remixes the entire night...changing every 20 seconds. There were no hip hop, 80's, 90's, or top 20 songs the entire night.
- Ridiculous lines for the women's restroom.
- 20-30 minutes wait to get into 675. -

My girlfriend and I love this place. It's a welcome respite from some of the preening, overdone places just a few feet from it. The drinks are about as pricey as other places in MPD, but the crowd is certainly less pretentious. There always seems to be a wait, but at least the bouncers are cool, laid-back guys you can joke around with. The music is usually top 40/house but the DJ's mix the occasional hip-hop song. It's certainly not ground-breaking stuff but it'll get you in the mood to dance. Overall, one of my favorite places in the city. The fooseball rooms on the side give it a certain charm as well haha...
Solid place for a party! -

Manhattan, NY
This is, by far, the chillest bar in MPD. There's never a huge line (even on weekends!), the bouncers are friendly & don't really turn people away, & their drinks, although pricey, will not cost you your firstborn child (assuming your firstborn costs more than $18).
There are caves all along one wall of the bar, where you can find throwbacks to your childhood - pacman, Jenga, foosball...the library?
The main room has a pool table, which, on weeknights, is surprisingly available. Also, the music is pretty good on weekends & even though it is crowded, there's still plenty of room to dance. -

Came here for a birthday party on my one-night Saturday trip to NYC. A buddy from the area recommended it and we got there early enough to avoid the line. Not much to complain about... we played foosball, the drinks were priced right (for NYC standards), and I met a lot of cool people.
It gets very dark and very crowded as the night goes on, but we didn't stay the whole night so for the time we were there it was fun. -

Really liked this place! Very cool underground lounge/bar. Drink costs are avg for the area. Great techno-type music. Awesome lighting and cool crowd. Def enough space to socialize and/or dance. I do recommend and I will be back!

So I went here the past weekend for one of my friend's birthday, and at first when I heard it was located in the meat-packing district, I thought: DAMN, pricey! I wasn't sure what to think of the place but decided to come out and have a good time.
I had a great time! The birthday girl warned me about the place getting packed around 11 or so and advised me to arrive there by 10pm. I usually don't leave my house till like 11-11:30 to go out in the city but I decided to play it safe and left earlier than usual. My friends and I arrived around 10:30 and there was no line at all, but the place was pretty packed by then. There was also no fee for the coat-check, which was based on tips. Did I mention there was barely a line for the WOMEN'S bathroom?! I thought that was a miracle, and refreshing not to have to worry about getting on such a huge line!! But maybe I was just lucky that night...however, there was a line for the men's bathroom, haha.
The decor is pretty cool, looks like a cave sort-of and has different rooms with games, televisions and other cool stuff. I played Pac-Man, old-school style, which was pretty fun!!! There were diff types of people there with different styles. Some dressed fancy and others were casual (including myself). So I feel that dress-code does not matter here.
I did not drink that night but my friend got a beer which cost the regular of $6 like in most places of NYC (except the general Meat-Packing District area!!) and I heard that drinks there are slightly cheaper. The music was awesome, with different types being played. We all danced the night away.
I am definitely coming back here during the daytime to take advantage of any specials they may have and to play more games!!! Great spot. -

We went here after Chelsea Park on a wednesday night. Music was good, very casual spot. People were cool, and service was good. No hassle at the door, which to find the door think subway hole, or basement apartment. It's dark, exposed brick, no windows, makes you think "anything can happen here". We'll be back for sure.

I was in the meat packing district on a monday night and I was looking for somewhere that was opened late. Although it was almost empty, there was still a dj playing decent music.
I liked that there were separate rooms with couches and one with a TV and pool table. Bartender was super nice and made good drinks. -

Review from Arnaud S.
This place deserves its 4 stars! Located in my have hood to go out in NYC (MeatPack), 675 is the right mix between a club and a bar. Like a bar, it doesn't have any cover, fairly casual (maybe high-casual) and like a club the music is bouncing while most of people are dancing. The decor is pretty interesting since there are small/private rooms a bit everywhere, with video games and pool tables.
Overall I feel that if you don't want to go to high and enjoy a "real" club in the MP then this place is a good alternative. Or if you want a diverse group of friends and you are not sure how to please everyone. I will come visit the 675 soon... -

I love this bar... when it's empty! Thursday through Saturday, there's always a very long line. I refuse to wait on line to go into any bar, club, lounge, restaurant, whatever. Not happening. I see many of these bad reviews mostly because they are upset about... waiting in line. Well people, stop waiting in line and I trust you'll have better nights, wherever you go.
On the off nights here, you can easily grab a bar seat or a cocktail table and enjoy a bit of truth or dare jenga. There's plenty of room on the dance floor and no waiting to partake in pool or foosball. A really easy and entertaining bar. If you want it to be... -

I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE.
I had no idea this placed existed until this past weekend! It's an underground labyrinth of awesomness. The stone archways, the cool furniture, the little rooms and hidden nooks and crannies were absolutely fascinating. The music was perfect and the atmosphere made you feel like the coolest person ever.
A few caveats:
1) you'll pass this place right away if you you're not looking for it. It's down a flight of stairs (its across the street from Tanuki Tavern. If you're walking west and hit Spice Market, you've gone too far).
2) You MUST bring ID. A girl who was 30+ didn't have hers and they denied her entry.
3) We got here around 8pm on a Saturday (yes, super early) and we left around 10pm and it was getting jam packed. So just like any other place in meatpacking (and the city) be prepared to wait in line if you don't get there at a decent time.
Beware: barely any cell service downstairs, so if friends are trying to get in touch with you, that may be a problem!!
I'll definitely be back. -

Fresh Meadows, NY
I can't say I enjoyed my night here since I'm starting to get over the whole club scene. But other people seemed to be having a good time, I don't know if that is actually true, or its the alcohol speaking. There was a huge line with I got there, and it was not a pleasant wait but on the bright side there is no cover, and the the coat check's free.
Inside this place feels more like a club than the lounge or a bar. It's not low key at all, and you have to scream the whole night. Most people are crowded around the bar, and there's a lot of pushing and shoving to get to where you want to go.
The ambience is also not amazing. There are little cubical like things on the side, with books and foosball tables but there were no balls. But there were a good amount of balls on the dance floor so if that's your thing then maybe you should check it out. For me, I think I'll skip unless I'm single and ridiculously drunk. -

A pretty cool bar. There's lots of small rooms on the side with games, foosball tables, and some other neat stuff if you get there early enough. Place always seems packed on weekends. Prices are what you would expect for the area.
Overall, a very nice bar -

New York, NY
After my first visit to 675 bar, I would've happily given this place 4 stars. However, after my experience last night, this place has gone down on my list of fun bars. Don't get me wrong, the bar itself was still a ton of fun, but our experience with the bouncers and waiting in line have tainted my impression of 675 bar.
We came here for a joint birthday party with a bunch of friends from college. We were a big group, and knew that since you couldn't make table reservations, that we needed to arrive early. We were in line around 10:30, at which time the line was already wrapped around corner and stretching half way down the block. Usually the line moves pretty quickly, but not this time. Once we were finally close to the door (and by that point, every single girl in the group was doing the pee-pee dance), the bouncer made a whole production about how big our group was. Here are all the things he did wrong:
- He insisted that we count off and draw a line in the crowd showing where our group ended.
- One of the girls joined us a bit late, and he pointed her out accusingly as "not having been in line the whole time" and made her leave.
- He lectured us on 4 separate occasions on how we weren't organized. Right, because everyone in NY goes to the bar with a roster and a game plan...
- He kept us at the front of the line without letting us in for 20 FREAKIN MINUTES. Seriously?? Why not just let smaller parts of our group in in increments, instead of waiting until 30 people left the bar before letting us all in?
Anyway, once we got downstairs the place was packed. The line for the girls bathroom was infinitely long, and half of our entire party spent the first 15 minutes camped out in the bathroom line, since there were only 3 stalls.
Also just as a side note, the coat check does not cost anything, it's purely "however much you want to tip". Don't be a dick, tip at least 3-4 bucks.
All in all, this place had great music, slightly cheaper drinks than other places in Meatpacking, and a TERRIBLE bouncer staff. -
Review from Diana H.
Really guys??
I came here on a Saturday and it was so crowded, super dark (darker then lavo, green room or any club really) and the music was blasting. After I got in I had to find my party and was that a task onto itself. It is so dark you literally can not scan the room to find other people, you would be lucky if A.) your cellphone has reception or B.) you make immaculate plans before hand.
Thankfully my cell phone worked and I found my party, I made a dash to the bar because I knew that if I was going to survive a night here that I would have to have some strong drinks and thankfully the bartenders knew how to make a good drink.
At one point in the night my buzz was just right that I was contemplating giving the bar a 4 star yelp review (yes I am a nerd and constantly thing about what I would tell you guys) however as soon as I was coming down from my tequila I had to get the heck out. -
Review from Jen G.
So walking inside of 675 Bar, it's hard not to fall in love with the space. There are alcoves everywhere, groups of people playing all different types of games (including foosball?!?!) and lots of well dressed, good looking boys walking around. That said, I probably wouldn't go back to this place on a weekend. We got there a little after 11pm, and every time we attempted to sit on one of the couches, there was someone literally glaring at us...it's cool to have a few tables reserved, but literally there were TONS of empty couches and seats, and it was becoming painfully clear that none of them were for me. So call me a priss, but I'm not standing up for 2 hours in 5 inch wedges in a gamer bar just to drink an overpriced cocktail and take stock of some man-ventory. Fifteen minutes later we were out.
I look forward to my own update (and you should too) cuz I will be back... probably on a Tuesday. -
Review from Peter K.
Two years later this place is still raging since the opening. The annoying thing is word has trickled down on how awesome it is and now there is an annoying line like most places in the MPD now.
The vaulted entrances to the catacombs are now game rooms where you can play jenga, with some missing pieces surely by now. There is no room in the bar area to play. The place gets packed. You do not need to come to play games to have fun though. Crowd changed to a mix with the suburbs and NY'rs who do not go out that much.
Dancing in Level DCLXXV isn't like it used to be, but still doable.
Good drink and great service make this watering hole still a great place to come. -

675 Bar is one of, if not the most, chillest places in Meatpacking District. There is no dress code and no cover AND they have board games! Coat check is $3.
I've been here a handful of times and there have always been lines to get in - but the lines go quick! You have to really make an attempt to get there early in order to snatch one of the private rooms with board games like Jenga and pool tables - but the outside area is fine as well. When you first walk in you're hit with this strange pungent smell that is a mixture of a vintage clothing store and wet moss. But get some drinks in ya and you won't mind it! Gets really crowded during the busy hours of the evening but thins out around 2AM. The music is pretty eclectic so make sure you come here with an open mind and ready feet!
The last time I was here they had a flood in the bar and had to kick everyone out...it was actually pretty hilarious ;) So if you're looking for a good, laid-back time in MPD, 675 Bar is your place!
Oh P.S. I lost my phone here a few weekends ago and they never pick up their phone!! Boo... but they do have an email address that they promptly respond back on! -

I like the music. Seems much more casual than any other place in MPD. Servers weren't fussy about us sitting at tables (as long as we moved if someone orders table service) which I found to be NICE.
I recommend the addition of some dim lights or strobes: can't say anything about the quality of the crowd bc this BAR is DARKER than any CLUB I've been to. -

SO MUCH FUN. Came here last night (Saturday) to celebrate a friend's birthday, and the music was AWESOME! They were playing fun top 40s but also old school rap, 80s music, little bits of everything. Also, there was no cover!
We arrived around 11 ish and had to wait outside for a bit which was a huge bummer in the freezing cold. Plus, having gone to bars/clubs in LA and vegas, I've never had to wait in line before, but I still haven't quite figured out how NYC places work. The line really wasn't too bad though, we were in within 20 minutes.
The place was mildly packed at 11:30, and I guess I understand why the bouncers forced ppl to wait outside, because it made the place more spacious and there was actually room to reach the bar & get my dance moves on!
We danced ALLLLL NIGHT LONG and while there are a bunch of other things for non-dancers to do like pool tables, foozball, jenga, make out/dry hump each other by the giant horse in the back corner, my friends and I were too busy shakin' our stuff!
There's also free coatcheck! I will DEFINITELY be back here and bring friends visiting to this place. It's not super upscale and fancy even though it's definitely nice, and there were people who dressed up. You can chat with friends onthe lounge chairs or dance. I LOVE how laid back this place was, but not grotty and dingy. Also it seems like a lot of people came with friends so there weren't as many sleaze bags trying to hit on everyone. PLUS!
I'm gonna try to check out the other nights, I've found one of my new dance spots in NYC, it's a keeper! -
Review from Pia M.
I have such a deep love for this place. I don't know whether it's because the music is excellent, or because the set up is ideal for both dancing and having a chill time over some pool, or if I'm just happy to find a non-pretentious place in Meatpacking, or if it's because the manager is a friend from High School (which I didn't know until I had been here a handful of times). Or maybe it's a mixture of all of the above. Whatever the reason is, I can always count on a good time at 675.

I mean, can you really go wrong at a bar with rooms for Jenga and Foosball?? No cover? No fee for coat check?? Had a birthday get-together here recently and had a fantastic time! 675 Bar is definitely a solid cross between a classic dive bar and lounge. Set in the heart of Meatpacking, you have access to standard NYC cocktails, beer, wine, a wide variety of bar snacks (sliders weren't bad and I need to try the bacon-covered chocolate next time) and games!
I definitely recommend getting there early...we grabbed a table in the corner with a comfy couch and next to a large plasma TV (perfect for the guys who wanted to drink, chat and catch the playoff game at the same time).
Later though (around 10pm) the line got pretty long and some friends were stuck waiting for a LONG time. Something to definitely keep in mind if you're coming late on a Saturday night.
Also, I totally agree with other reviews on the music - the bar plays some awesome old 80s music at the start of the night and transforms into more of a club later in the night with great dance music. Do note though, that it's super loud so maybe not the best place solely for drinks and conversation.
Overall, I recommend 675 Bar - it promises good times ahead! -

It's as hard to find as they say. There was no line yet when I arrived Saturday night, and so I stood on the corner for a solid 5 minutes at LEAST before figuring out the entrance was an unassuming stairway down into the underbelly of the Meatpacking district. The bar is pretty cool. They have drunk Jenga, which pretty much always contributes to a good time. The music is loud, and regardless of the hour, it does present a challenge in conversing with others.
As the night progressed, the vibe switched from lounge/bar into more of a club atmosphere. I was in the mood to dance so this was perfect. The drinks are not completely unreasonable in price. I think for the neighborhood they are just fine. The boneless Buffalo wings are shockingly good. They are actually very tender and quite tasty. I fully approve. Good times at the 675 Bar. I will happily be back.Listed in: Bars I Likey....

675 Bar is the shit, during the week. Weekends are insane.
That being said, I still end up here on the weekends and it's bearable as long as you can score one of the alcoves with tables and board games (drunk Jenga what!?). The music is always great and the staff, from the door guy to the the waitresses, is super cool. The drinks aren't cheap but the beer selection is pretty good.
If you can't find a seat (and a waitress) it can be almost impossible to get near the bar to order drinks. -

I've been to 675 a few times on a Saturday night and had fun. It has a cool cellar type of vibe and its pretty spacious. It gets packed too and has dark lighting and a fun dance vibe. I recommend this bar to friends who are visiting and want the fun of meatpacking in a more relaxed vibe. It reminded me of Arlo and Esme (RIP) so I'm happy to have found a replacement.
I'm writing this review though mostly about the Monday night special they have going on. I got an email for a slider promotion where you get free sliders after 6:30pm through the first half of Monday night football. I went with a friend and expected to drink a few beers and maybe get a tiny one-bite slider. Instead we ordered beers ($4 high life, $7 most other choices) and we each got a plate of three medium sized burgers! I was able to make a light dinner out of it. The bar was pretty empty on a Monday night but hopefully it will pick up if they keep this special! -

Let me start off by saying that the first time I came here which was about a year ago, I loved it. I thought the music was awesome. The DJ played a mix of dancehall, hip hop, salsa, top 40 that was very evenly balanced and kept everyone happy.
As of late however (I've probably been there about 6 times since) I've noticed that the music has really gone to sh*t. It's like the DJ is confused and doesn't know if he should play 80's, top 40, sh*tty mainstream hip hop or whatever else is on his b*mmy playlist.
Granted I only come on the weekends when the place is super crowded so I can't speak for the others that were playing board games and enjoying 675 on the quieter nights.
Also, the bar can very difficult to get to on weekends. If it wasnt for me being a jerk and pushing people out of the way/cutting the line I never would have gotten the bartenders attention.
The one positive thing that I can say about this place however is that the people inside are pretty cool. I've always enjoyed my time there making new friends.
In my humble opinion this place has great potential but they need to find a BETTER DJ ASAP! -

Though it is in the meat packing district, you would hardly notice the entrance if not for the long line outside it on the weekends. For all non-US citizens, please carry your passports because this place does not accept anything apart from US-issued ID's and passports. There is no cover. It is in the basement of a building, it is loud and it is crowded - but not so crowded for you to push and shove your way around, unless you need to get to the bar real quick. The crowd is a mix of mostly people in their mid 20's and above. This place has a pool table, a couple of bars and sofas and chairs to sit around on. The music is pretty good, there is enough place to dance and it is definitely worth a second or third visit.
Overall a 4-star rating - would definitely go there again. -

this place is so chill and interesting.
the place is sectioned off so that your party can have a room and play games in there. jenga is a BIG thing here, people actually watch you play and wait to claim it after you're done with it OR they ask to join you.
they also have a mini pool table and some other game in the main area.
there's a bar and i guess a bit of dancing goes on around there but it ain't no club.
crowd is a good mix, you can roll up in jeans and still fit in, and the drinks are pretty strong (but pricey). -

In an area filled with touristy bars and waaaay over priced drinks...its refreshing to know that 675 Bar exists. If you didn't know it's there you might walk right past it because its underground.
The atmosphere inside is awesome! Everything is brick and there are little intimate, secluded seating areas with board games and all! There's a pool table next to the giant horse lamp and there are scattered couches all around. The drinks are reasonably priced considering every other place in the area thinks its ok to put you into bankruptcy in order to have a night out with your friends having drinks. The DJ was pretty great spinning a mash up of various hits across many different genres of music.
I don't find myself in the meat packing district too often but the next time I am there, I will definitely be spending my time at 675 Bar. -

San Francisco, CA
I stopped by on a Wednesday night at about 9:30pm for some pre-drinks.
Good things:
-casual bar that might turn into something nuts later
-they have a Game Menu, so cool...Drunk Jenga please!
-good house music on Wednesdays
-drinks are strong
-cool bunker/basement below Dos
-location: MePa
Bad things:
-service, one cocktail waitress!! I feel bad because she was nice, and obviously being overworked/short-staffed...but it was bad man.
-the crowd is a little....eclectic, and obnoxious....and it was a Wednesday so you know it's not B+T
-prices: yes standard for MePa, but this place is pretty raunchy and cheap looking.
-to my point above,...dirty feeling, kinda tacky
Whatever, I'll prob go back just for the music.
