Review from Lia L.
Brooklyn, NY
This place is a fun wine store. I never thought I would ever say "fun wine store" but it really is. Being from LA, I'm still annoyed by the fact that wine cannot be sold in supermarkets. Or that all liquor cannot be sold in supermarkets. But I digress...
Anyway - this place is sweet. First of all, any place that offers free dog biscuits is a plus in my book (even though I don't have a dog, but I think it's very considerate). Every time we go there, whoever is behind the counter always has a smile on their face, easy going, helpful (a couple times I see them nursing their own glass or having a very party-like "wine tasting"), and the prices are reasonable.
One time we were specifically looking for wine with a screw top and they handed it to us saying, "have fun in the park."
My only complaint is that I wish they were closer to our house! -

I absolutely LOVE this place. The location cannot be beat (so close to the B & Q trains). The service is impeccable and the two Mike's really know their wines but even more importantly, they know YOUR wines. They are great at suggesting wines based on favorite foods and/or occasions.
Most important is the selection. You will never find any Yellow Tail on their shelves and they have some of the best Rose wines I have ever tasted from the French Riviera. I feel luxurious for under $15!!!! -

Chic. Cozy. Varied. Hand Selected. The new go-to wine shop for unique and well priced wines makes its home in Lefferts Garden and we love them for it!
I've found my new favorite Moscato here and the guys hand pick and KNOW their wine and with weekend wine tastings, you will too. Most bottles run between &8 and $25, how can you go wrong?! -

Such a great find! Thanks Yelpers for pointing me in the direction of 65 Fen. Surprisingly good (and affordable!) selection for a small shop. I walked about a mile to get there, so I could avoid buying another miscellaneous bad bottle from the shrine to bulletproof glass in my neighborhood.
Another huge plus? Michael. Kind, approachable, informed and excited about the wines he's selling.
Good people, good wine, good prices. I'll definitely be back. -

Nice community grass roots wine store, need more places like this innthe neighborhood. They have weekly wine tastings, art gallery nights and other special events for the neighborhood. As well as a great selection of wine and for those not so experts, they give great suggestions. Check it out.

A lovely little wine shop that just opened in Prospect Lefferts Gardens.
Right off Flatbush, it is perfect for picking up a bottle on your way out for BYOB or on your way home from work for a quiet evening. I am no expert in wine, but I can tell you that the prices run from cheap ($7.50) to cheap-ish ($20).
Yea for another PLG find! -

Great spot in the hood for a good bottle of wine at a reasonable price. The owner is really nice and makes good recommendations.

A small but varied selection of wines at reasonable prices. The owners hand-pick all the bottles, and their focus is on the affordable. Need a good $15 bottle? This is your place.
I met one of the owners when picking out a bottle last week. He was more than willing to help me select something based on the type of food we'd be having. And he didn't try to push me to buy a more expensive bottle, which is appreciated. Very friendly.
Will definitely be coming back. A great addition to the neighborhood -- I hope it lasts. -

I was only in 65 Fen briefly, but was impressed with the wine selection and prices. It was super convenient to get to and the owner was super friendly

Having been spoiled by "Vine", the gem in LIC, 65 Fen seems only semi-good. It would be nice if they have some box wines. I can't fault the selection, but it seems a bit pricey. But, it is the best in the hood... Really, the ONLY place worth buying wine!

They also have great weekend wine tastings (with food!) and a mailing list you can join. This place rocks!

Does 65 Fen have the best selection and prices in Brooklyn? No, it does not. But is it owned by a local guy who works hard, seeks out bottles his neighbors request, and gives back to the neighborhood? Yes! Don't miss the weekly wine tastings on Saturday, a nice (albeit cozy) place to hang out for a bit on cold winter days and to talk with neighbors.

a small inviting wine shop, with great customer service. the store is designed in a chic manner, and I like it. the selection is a bit small, but strong. some bottles are expensive, however, there are more thrifty options. And like Nidhi B. said, they have wine tastings every saturday.
