Quite a surprise to find a quality restaurant in Salem. Food is equally as good as any restaurant in Boston. It is the only restaurant I dine at in the Salem/Peabody area. This would be a four star in Boston but for Salem it is five stars.
I always order the Scallops, Cauliflower and one of the pasta dishes. Dessert is also worth having.
Dining room and bar/lounge area; bistro style dining. Friendly and professional service.
Limited wine list and full bar.
Good for a date, group dining. upscale for Salem area, nice location. -

Across the board fantastic. The service, the food, the atmosphere - they nail it. This is always a treat, very professional staff while being warm and inviting. I love all their dishes, go there often and never been anything but thrilled with the food. The martini's ... another plus. Always a treat ... !!!
Yup, the parking can be a pain the butt, but if you can walk a block there is a garage right on the corner.
I don't at all agree that 62 is pricey. It's not cheap, it's amazing food, and you get what you pay for. For those that mentioned the portions aren't big enough? Perhaps you're spending a bit too much time at Bertucci's, I find the portions perfect; filling without giving me a belly ache. -

Usually it makes me happy when a host says 'thank you' and 'goodnight' when I'm leaving a restaurant. After our meal at 62 Restaurant, it made me want to run out the door and never come back! We decided to go here because of the good reviews. Unfortunately we didn't have a 5-star experience like other yelpers.
Our server was a little on the strange side. I didn't notice it at first, but my boyfriend and his brother did. Then she started being outright rude, so I noticed. Everything was slow. Long waits for drinks, bread (I told her I was starving, we ordered apps and I asked for bread when we first sat down--I asked nicely 3 more times and still no bread), etc. Our table was full of dirty appetizer plates when the entrees came and full of dirty appetizer plates after the entrees came. Not appetizing.
Small plates: Tried four. Meatballs were good. The others were too salty. Not a small plate: Arugula salad was decent but hard to manage because the ingredients were whole or in big pieces.
Pastas: Ordered four. All on the salty side. It's pretty hard to go wrong with a Bolognese--except here. My friend only ate a few bites and told the server he didn't like it when she was clearing his plate. She said, "Oh" and left. (We paid for it.) The sauces tasted like they were made with canned soup, though I WANT to find that hard to believe. Unfortunately we couldn't fill up on delicious bread because (1) it didn't arrive in time and (2) it was the opposite of delicious. Thanks to our server, I doubt we would've gotten more if we'd asked for it.
Desserts: Couldn't say. I am a huge dessert addict, but by that time none of us wanted to stay there any longer than we had to. Surprise! It took forever to pay the bill.
When I go to a restaurant, I want to be wow'ed by amazing food, service, atmosphere or all three. Give me 1 or 2 out of the 3 and I'll be a fan. Give me a good drink and I'll go back regardless. By the way, the pomegranate pisco sour is horrendous. I've had pisco sours in Lima, and theirs doesn't come close, which wouldn't matter if it was tasty. But it was far from tasty. A lot of yelpers have commented about the prices, but I didn't think they're that bad. Or they wouldn't be bad if the experience was worth it. 62 Restaurant has a fair atmosphere but underwhelming food and bad service. Apparently we came on the wrong night at the wrong time and got the wrong server. Eight thumbs down. -

62 has always brought a tear of joy to my eye. I adore sitting at the bar...the bartenders are CLASS. The tagliatelle was just as phenomenal in 2012 as it was the first time I tried it in 2008...Bettencourt hands down has THE BEST food in the area.

Parking was a real problem, not from area so maybe we missed where to park easily. Had 9 O'clock reservations but showed up at 7.30 hoping to get seated early. Sat at the small tables beside the bar area. Pretty comfortable -- so we ate there.
Menu was very interesting. Food and presentation were very good. Had several small plates to share and all had good flavor and texture. Wine and Beer list were also interesting and paired well with the food we choose. Medium size bill represented a good value for what we received. I would come here again and try a full meal. This worked out well for us. A good place to try. -

Review for the bar only (have never eaten in the restaurant)
Love the bartender, love the appetizers and love the desserts. I come here frequently with girlfriends and we are always well taken care of. The amazing sticky toffee pudding, attentive bartender and tasty espresso martinis keep us coming back for more. The only thing that would make it better (6 stars?) is if the city of Salem would give them a full liquor license, not just wine and cordials. They do manage to have a lovely cocktail menu with said cordials. Wish I was going there tonight!Comment from tony b. of 62 Restaurant and Wine Bar 3/20/2012

If you're looking for a great night out with a small group of people or a nice intimate place to take your partner, 62 certainly delivers.
Each meal on the menu is expertly crafted and absolutely delicious.
Fantastic wait staff. Very friendly and open about the menu. They certainly make you feel welcome.
Though expensive, you don't feel like you're in a stuck up, ritzy place thanks to the warm staff.
Expect a $100+ bill for a party of 2 with apps, drinks and entrees.
I highly recommend the 'root beer' which is an oatmeal stout with root liquer.
I'm not entirely sure of how their bar works, but from what I can tell they offer beer, wine and cocktails, but no hard alcohol (I don't think you can get a glass of scotch here, but don't take my word on it). There's a TV at the bar, if that's your thing
We've also noticed that there's always at least one family with children there whenever we go, so I assume the kids like the food. For us, it's our night away from the little one, so I can't comment on the choices for children
Get dressed up (not mandatory) and have a great dinner. -

seriously one of the best meals i have had in a while and quite a different menu. Went for neighborhood night... 4 courses for $28, which is a great deal considering normally an entree costs average $23. mussels were delicious but a bit on the garlicy side. The veal raviolis were SO bomb. I thought theyd be too sweet, but they were fantastic... definitely a must try! The pan seared scallops were also perfect, went perfectly with the lentils on the side. All in all, besides being pricey... easily one of the best restaurants ive been to in the north shore (born and raised).

This place was utterly amazing! I took my girlfriend here recently when i was in town visiting. One of perhaps the best meals i've had out. For Italian food it was some of the best and just as good as something you will find at a trattoria outside Venice. We had appetizers, buffalo Mozzarella with Broccoli rabe, currants, and dates and a made on the premise dried Salami, both reminded me of things that i have eaten in Italy. They both were amazing. For dinner we ordered the Lobster Ravioli and Wine braised duck and Peni. Portions were just right and the meals were bursting with flavor. I was truly blown away by the flavors and quality of the food. For dessert we had the goat cheese tort and some kind of chocolate thing that is escaping me at the moment, but i will say they both were delicious. I will surely go there again next time i am in the Salem/Boston area!

Chef Tony is a real Professional and takes care to ensure that you will enjoy your time at 62...The menu is Innovative but Accessible - full Mediterranean flavor in small bites! Chickpea fritters with Date compote and Cauliflower with Truffle Oil- I'm a carnivore but Vegetarians never had it this good- Trust Me. Cocktails here are true to form. Do not miss the Warm Toffee Pudding!!!

If you are a real foodie, this place is for you. The food is simply amazing, and I love how the menu is set up so you can try a bit of everything. We've had duck, lobster, rabbit, pork belly, fish, and rib-eye over a few visits and they are all perfectly executed and absolutely delicious. You can really tell that the chef put a lot of love into creating the dishes. Service is great too.
Definitely leave room for the hazelnut gelato AND warm toffee pudding because they are to die for. It's a bit pricey but well worth it. -

Went here last night and had a lovely experience.
Started out having a drink at the bar. Great cocktail menu to start and a very cozy bar area. Bartender was very friendly and checked on me twice to ensure I liked my drink.
When we got to our table, we were blessed with a pretty terrific waiter that knew exactly how to pace a nice dinner out: He let us look at the wine menu for a bit, then let us drink the wine and relax, then took our app order, etc. He also was very good about guiding our ordering (i.e. recommending we don't order the polenta, for example, because it came with one of the apps).
The meal itself was very good-not earth shattering, but better than average ameri-italian fare. Aroncini was fresh and tasty, the meatballs were decent, and my main course, the wild boar pasta, was "wicked pissah"!
The one item that was not on the menu but on special that was UNREAL was the Fisherman's Stew. Best I've ever had.
For dessert, we had the toffee pudding which, as everyone suggests, is terrific. Washed it down with a healthy pour of lemoncello to cap off a pretty delightful experience. -

I really wish I could give 4.5 starts. Four seems too low for my AMAZING experience here but I will explain. I was looking for a new place to bring my girlfriend and as soon as I read the menu, I knew we'd be going to 62.
Let me begin by saying that our waitress was excellent; she was very friendly and willing to explain things or answer questions wothouit seeming bothered on a busy Friday night. She was good at encouraging us without seeming pushy. The service was great, water was constantly refilled without asking and spent plates were promptly removed by smiling, happy staff.
We began with two of their small plates: the pork belly and arancini. The pork belly was incredible; perfectly cooked, salted, and accompanined by a perfectly balanced relish that I highly recommend. The arancini was overcooked and not very flavorful. This is one of two small problems we encountered and given the high quality of everything else (and the fact taht it was a Friday night) i suspect that if i went back and ordered them again, they would be done perfectly. I really can't wait to try all of their Spuntini.
Next, we had the mid-course pasta plate. We had the noodles with wild boar. My gf and i both love house-made pasta and these noodles were the only disspointment after the arancini. Itw as obvious tha the dough had been over-worked before being run through the machine. As a result, we had thick, tough noodles but I feel guilty complaining since tha accompanying sauce was so perfectly done. The wild boar was so tender and flavorful. Again, I'm willing to bet that if I ordered the same thing again tomorrow, everything would be up to snuff.
For a main course, i had the pancetta-wrapped rabbit with an apple and cranberry mortada over creamy polenta. Everything was done to perfection. The rabbit was tender, rich, and extremely flavorful. The pancetta was not overpowering and was merely a background player to the main star, teh rabbit. The flavors of apple and cranberry worked perfectly for this dish. I would order this every night for a month before I got sick of it.
My gf had the cod. She loved it. I tried a bite and have to agree.
Now, the dessert. i had purchased tickets for an evening movie taht i gladly skipped in order to enjoy this other-worldly dessert menu. The chocolate terrine with housemade hazlenut gelato seemed like it was custom-made just for my gf and I, as it inclduded all of our favorites. it did not dissapoint. the terrine had a texture approaching taht of a ganache. The hazlenut gelato was a perfect paring. i can't believe that it was the second-best dessert we had that night.
Try the warm toffee pudding. Seriously, do it now. If God him(her?)self came to earth for dessrt, this is what he would order. I wish I had the words to do it justice but eating this dessert is one of those instances in life which transceds words. Go try it now!
Sorry this review is so lengthy, but tehre was a lot to enjoy about my experioence here. iwill certainly be returning. before I leave, i must mention the cocktails, which were excellent. I had the St. germaine (which included Elderberry liquer, peach, and sage) and it was the perfect starter. Along the way I tried the French 75, which was excellent and the Autumn Harverst, which was truly the perfect cocktail to have with dessert. My girlfriend enjoyed several 62 pickups as it was so well crafted she did not want to try anything else. We will definitely be going back! -

Normally I love this restaurant, the food is well thought out and the service is excellent, I would love to give 5 stars for the Restaurant week menu but I can't because the pork chop was half gristle and fat, not to mention they cooked it medium, it really needs to be well done and I was definitely paying for the fact that I didn't return it on seeing that.
Do not believe people when they say you can eat pork less then well done, there is not such thing as safe pork. I come from a long line of pig farmers and should have followed their advice.
Everything else was wonderful, but please avoid the pork chop. They did right by us, taking it off the bill, but it took some arguing. When a dish fails that badly, and this really was bad, I hate having to have a lengthy argument about it with the manager.
I WILL be going back. I highly recommend it. -

Well, that was awesome.
The girlfriend and I had an anniversary to celebrate. 62 was the perfect choice and they even had the flowers I had ordered on the table when we arrived.
All week I had been reading about how to cook rabbits and how to make your own preserved/smoked meats. I was thrilled to see rabbit wrapped in pancetta on the menu. I ordered it and was thrilled. The gf had a mushroom pasta dish that came with a poached egg. I would tell you the name but I certainly can't even pronounce it, let alone remember it. It was awesome too.
Our appetizers of chickpea fritters and Yellow Tail tuna in lemon juice were a good clue to the quality of the meal ahead.
As with everyone else writing here, the warm toffee pudding was our dessert choice. Cutting it with the accompanying cream brought the sweetness to a perfect level.
The French 75 and Peach Bellini were well made cocktails.
The portions and prices were right in line with other quality restaurants, so I am not sure what folks on here are complaining about.
The waitstaff was perfect, friendly and knowledgable about the menu as well as how the chef made his own cured meats.
This easily was one of the finest dining experiences we have had north of Boston. -

I have been to 62 twice now during Restaurant Week and once during their "late-night" menu from 10pm-11pm (Thurs-Sat). Their homemade pasta is very good and their service is excellent!
Prices are more on the pricey side, but it's not much more than other nice restaurants in Salem. 62 is by far my favorite restaurant in Salem and is great for a special occasion.
Only negative? I have had some strong drinks there that didn't taste that good. This may be considered a 'pro' for some folks. -

A+ dining in Salem. I love a good tapas bar and 62 fits the bill. I would have liked a more expansive list of wines by the glass but the amazing food made up for it. We sat at the bar and our bartender was very friendly and even let us sample some wines
Bruscetta - Topped with shrimp and a tomato garlic sauce
Chickpea Fritters - Almost tasted like fried hummus with a spicy kick
Arancini - Delicious cheesey rice balls
Tagliatelle alla Bolognese - Love the smaller size portion, great for sharing. It was filled with veal, pork, and parmesan
Warm Toffee Pudding - Great unique dessert, if you like heath bars you'll love this -

62 is excellent, and definitely deserves its high ratings.
My wife and I tried several appetizers, entrees and desserts and all were delicious. We were sitting at the bar and everyone around us who was eating dinner that we talked to had the same reaction - whenever the bartender asked how things were he got an enthusiastic "Great!" -

I've been living in Salem for about a year now and had yet to try this place.
It always seemed as though it was too classy for the likes of me.
While it retains it's class, this place is right for anyone with an appetite for delicious food! My friends and I had apps and drinks, I'll review each one.
Arancini: Exactly what you hope they'd be. They were cooked perfectly (and I've had them overcooked) The use of sauce was subtle and pretty much optional which is good for those of us with acid reflux. Delicious!
Zucchini Blossoms: I hate zucchini.. HATE it. These were the flowers luckily. They were made with a delicious lemon based sauce and had great flavor to them. The crab taste was still there and not overtaken by the powerful lemony acid.
Artichoke Hearts: They were fried, seasoned and tasted insanely fresh. Simply delicious
Pizzetta: One of my favorite parts of the meal! Thin crust pizza with pancetta, wild muishrooms and shaved parmigian cheese. Oh my god... this was also phenomenal
Pappardelle: White rabbit meat with olives, white wine and rosemary. I could eat this every meal of every day. I had never tried rabbit before last night and will get it every chance i get. I recommend this the most!
Warm Toffee Pudding: I was speachless upon my first bite... The toffee pudding is phenomenal and it's served over and around a phenomenal cake made of DATES. This is one of several variables that are going to make me a regular here!
The drink selection was pretty good, with some creative and strong cocktails and a decent beer selection. I had Victory Golden Monkey, which is a good belgian style beer.
All in all, I give this 5 stars. The food was amazing and came out quite fast. The service was excellent (we sat at the bar and the bartender was the man). GO THERE! -

I work with a lot of foodies and through talking with them I've realized I'm much more of a steak and potatoes kind of girl. Which is why the fact that I enjoyed 62 so much is so impressive.
We took my mother here for Mother's Day. Not actually on Mother's Day but the night before. We were late for our reservations but the staff was accommodating.
We started with three of the small plates: Arancini and Bacala. Amazing.
My sister and I split two dishes because we couldn't settle on one thing. She ordered the sea bass which was so melt-in-your-mouth, I haven't thought about much else since.
I ordered the Fazzoletti pasta. It was so flavorful (you can sense how little of a foodie I am because I just don't have words to describe how amazing it was). I normally hate the texture of whole wheat pasta but 62's was perfect, not chewy and gritty. My only complaint would have been there was more ricotta than I'd like. But that's just me being finicky.
I was so wrapped up in what I was eating, I don't even remember what my mother had but I know she enjoyed hers, too.
Our server was beyond excellent. Attentive, knowledgeable. The only negative thing I could say about the service was they were a little too persistent on refilling my glass of water. If that's the only criticism I can think of, I think they're doing a pretty damn good job.
Parking is a bit of a bitch - Pickering Wharf is always mobbed but parking is free, even though the parking lot is a ten minute walk away.
I will definitely return. -

Short version: AWESOME service, DELICIOUS fresh and interesting food. The rabbit parpadelle was magnificent. Yum Yum Yum. And make a reservation.
Long version: I found myself in Salem for a wedding rehearsal (photographing the actual event tomorrow at Hamilton Hall) and figured dinner might be in order. Facebook friends suggested 62 and the Yelp reviews seemed pretty awesome.
I called for a reservation for 2 and they only had 8:30pm available. I explained that I would be finished around 5:30 and needed an early night and maybe they could call if anyone cancelled. They were super nice on the phone and said they had a table at 5:30 but they needed it for 7pm so it probably wouldn't work. I was all over it :) Don't get me wrong - if I made a regular reservation and was hurried along I would be pissed but they were totally flexible in fitting around my schedule.
The rehearsal ran a little late and so I got there around 5:40, my Mom was waiting for me at the bar where she'd enjoyed some kind of cocktail. The host (owner? manager?) was the same guy I spoke to on the phone and so I thanked them for fitting us in and assured them we'd be done by 7. She lives in the UK and isn't so familiar with the US tipping policy and so just headed over to our table assuming that her drink would be put on our dinner tab. More on that later.
Our server was awesome. Really knowledgeable and gave us some great recommendations. We ordered a really great bottle of NZ Sauvignon Blanc (the name escapes me - very gooseberry like/perfect on a hot day). We started with the Arugula Salad (with manchego and prosciutto) - one of the best arugula salads I've ever eaten (and I've eaten a lot). The Tuna appetizer was phenomenal. 4 generous sashimi style slices with slivers of roasted garlic and some kind of hot pepper. Super fresh. Went well with the arugula. Our server also brought a little surprise of crostini with fresh ricotta and green beans as a thank you for us being so flexible on the time :)
We got two pasta dishes (they come in half-sizes or full). The pea agniolotti (spelling?!?) was great, hint of mint and perfectly crisp and tasty panchetta. Not super truffley which I liked. I'd give it 8.5 out of 10. The rabbit parpadelle pasta was historic. Amazing. Perfectly cooked pasta, just the right amount of sauce, generous meat, white wine and rosemary in the sauce. Totally great.
We weren't rushed at all, in fact my Mom had an espresso (which she raved about) and we were still done by 6:45 ish. Really really great dinner.
As we got our check ($90ish for 2 appetizers, 2 pastas, bottle of wine, soda and espresso) I noticed my Mom's drink wasn't on it. I checked and the host was all "no problem, we've got it" which was very kind (don't worry, we left a good tip at the bar - I've done my fair share of barwork in the past ;)
I parked in the garage on the corner - bring some quarters (no credit card/dollar bills) 25c for every 30 minutes
So if you're still reading 62 is a HUGE hit for me. Worth the drive to Salem if you're not local and want some great Italian food with awesome service. -

Went there for my birthday with my family and had a very nice dinner. Was Sunday night in January, so no problem getting a table.
We started with a couple of their Spuntinis (small plates). The Pizzetta was a thin crust pizza with a very flaky pastry like crust. Nice topping of pancetta, mushrooms, and parmigiano. The second one, name escapes me and not not listed on the online menu, was a warm cheese on a toasted bread. Both were very good.
Pasta and entrees consisted of: Tagliatelle ai Funghi, gnocchi with lobster, short rib ravioli (daily special), lamb loin, and rabbit loin.
The favorites were the rabbit loin, lamb loin, and the gnocchi. Never seen rabbit done with just the loins, so that was a treat. The pastas were good, but not as big of a hit.
We shared two warm toffee puddings for dessert. Those were heavenly!
We're not in that part of the state very often, but I'd love to go back to 62 next time we're in the area and try some other things!
Service was very pleasant and attentive. -

That was my first try at the 62 Restaurant in Salem. I went there during the restaurant week, I had the salt cod fritters for appetizer, it was pretty good. For entree', I ordered the grilled scallops, it was very salty. My friend also had the same dish, she also thought it was too salty. I was really disappointed, I would have given it at least a 4-star rating very easily.

We love 62! We've been there at least 9 times and haven't had a bad meal yet. Great selection of wines, my favorite is the 2007 Super Tuscan. The small tapas style menu is the perfect portion to get a taste of some fantastic dishes; my favorites are the beet salad, the cod fish cakes with an aioli sauce, beef ribs and the farro salad.
Their pastas are made there and have the perfect consistency. You can get them in full or half portions. Some of our favorites are the beef short rib ravioli and a gaganelli pasta with red wine braised duck, dried cherries and kale - outstanding.
We often fill up during dinner that we don't go for desert, however, if we make room, the warm toffee pudding is definitely worth having.
Staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. A little on the pricey side, but we don't out too often, so worth the splurge. I think one of the best restaurants in Salem. -

Let me break this down for you. The sticky toffee pudding is pretty awesome, but too sugary so you can only take few bites. Their pasta dishes are so small yet so expensive. If it was good, at least I'll keep my mouth shut. But the sad reality is that one of the sauce tasted like the ddukbokki sauce (spicy korean rice cake sauce) which is supposed to be street food. Their pasta dishes were overcooked which brought much thick and dry taste in our mouths.
I also had their ribeye and was a bit salty and chewy. I mean, the ambiance is romantic but sadly, I went with my male roommate which wasn't too productive in making our meal taste better....=)
I can't stand the fact that everything is so overpriced. Why? It tries to give a vibe of an upper class italian restaurant but fails to deliver the high quality taste in every way. Can we get our money back? (i've never asked this in my yelp review of so many restauranst but I'm serious) -

This place is an absolute delight in every way...its location, ambiance, the friendly staff and of course, the flavorful food! I was here with a friend and we were glad that we had bought a Groupon deal for this (without which we would not have known about this place).
What I also liked was that they had an option for Tapas. For someone like me with a small appetite, this was just perfect. I got to taste a lot more items off of the menu.
We ordered Chickpea fritters, arancini, baccala, beets, and shrimps from the Tapas menu. Although everything tasted great, my favorite were the chickepea fritters. Whatever sauce they had on it went very well with the fritters. We were so full with the tapas servings that we decided to share an entree. We went with the Agnolotti. Again, a very satisfying experience :)
We were very pleased to add this place to our list of "definitely worth visiting more than once" category of restaurants! -

Went here on a recent trip to Salem. Was good. I endorse.
What I liked about Sixty2 on Wharf was the way the menu was set up. There are only a few entrees to chose from, a few appetizers and also some small plates, but that offers enough options for sharing. The wine list included 1.5 glass pours in the $10-13 range as well as an adequate selection of craft beers. The atmosphere was rather rowdy on a Saturday night, though it was mostly a crowd of people closer to my parents' age.
The dishes were hit or miss. The pork belly with a horsradishy cranberry based from the small plates menu was excellent but the veal was rather disappointing. My entree of cod was fantastic but small. The highlight of the meal was the toffee pudding desert..oh my, more please.
In summary, a good option for a dinner in Salem. I would make a reservation..it was crowded. -

I'm a big fan of 62. We've been here several times and always great food and service. I love small tapas like menu items ($5+). They frequently change the items and you can order a few to share. The beet salad appetizer is awesome, as well as the rib, the meat falls off the bone.
I love the lounge set up near the bar with small tables and couches as well as good size bar. The crowd is hip and not really pretentious. Crowd on the Saturday night I visited was 30s+.
Great martini menu ($10) and the bartenders make an excellent drink. The wine list is complicated as they only feature Italian wines. Fine if you are versed in Italian wines, but for the rest of us that might only be familiar with new world wines (Merlot, Cabernet, Chardonnay, etc) it is very difficult to figure out. I don't mind asking, but in the company of others I might not be inclined to ask to avoid embarrassment. The wine is a bit pricey - one or two at $8, but more in the $10-12 range.

We ate at 62 Restaurant last night as I had purchased a living social coupon for a 4 course meal for 2. I made a reservation, and even though it was a Wednesday evening the restaurant was fairly full. The restaurant is nicely decorated and very warm and inviting.
With the coupon we did order have to order off a special menu, so not as many options.
The food was all amazing. Our favorite appetizer was the meatballs which were served over polenta. They were delicious. Food was all made from scratch, which impressed my chef-boyfriend.
We wil definitley be going back! -

We went here last night for Restaurant Week, and it was pretty great. Reservations were a must since we couldn't get in the night before.
I had the shrimp over creamy polenta as an appetizer, it was creamy, buttery and delicious. For my main meal I got the roasted cod with chickpeas and roasted red peppers. It was very rich and extremely filling. For dessert, I had a cheesecake type dish made with goat cheese, and topped with an apple cranberry compote. It was heavenly.
My boyfriend had the roasted cauliflower, which he loved, the pasta bolognese (with pork and veal in the sauce), and the chocolate cake. He really liked the pasta dish, but wanted more meat haha.
Since it was restaurant week, we got to dine on the cheap, but we do plan to go back and try some items off the regular menu-for a special occasion.
The atmosphere was nice, we had a window seat, and out waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly throughout dinner. -

Had a completely fantastic dinner at the 62 last night. It was valentine's day and I wanted to have a really nice and romantic dinner, 62 came thru in spades. The waiter was very knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. We ate the smaller Spuntini-style dishes and every one was top notch in presentation and flavor. We had the Arancini, Crudo, Pizzetta and the Chestnut Pappardelle pasta dish. I am telling you they were all fantastic. For desert we topped it off with the warm toffee pudding which i am still dreaming about.

To summarize right off the bat, this place has very good food, but its pretty pricey. There are many places around the North shore that offer food as good, but a little more reasonably priced. If money is no object, though, then go for it!
We shared the Arancini and they were marvelous. I had the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese -- the full size portion is what you want if that's your only entre, but at $24 that's a lot for even a good version of the dish. My companion had the Rabbit loin in pancetta and reported that it was excellent, but $25 is a lot for Salem, MA. The complimentary bread and olio were average.
A rather ordinary Barbera was $12 for a rather small glass. The result was that we were up to $90 (with tax) without even thinking about desert and coffee.
The room is quite nice and the noise level is reasonable. Service was good. -

Hey look! I feel gigantic! The tables in the bar area are so low here! I really felt like a giant and it took a few moments of my trying to awkwardly situate myself before I got settled. If I were to eat a full meal here, I would probably not sit in the bar area. The area itself is very cozy. Small intimate bar with a handful of the low tables. Great set up for cocktails and conversation. Not so great set up if you are trying to eat, or appear that you have decent posture and a flat stomach..
We were greeted by a friendly hostess and an equally friendly bartender. The bartender was prompt in bringing us our menus and drinks. My friend and I both had the Dirty Dirty martini, which is a dirty vodka martini with bleu cheese stuffed olives. It was very good. On a side note, had I not become a person with so little shame that I need to integrate cheese into my cocktails, I would probably feel thinner and it might have taken me less time to get comfortably situated in at the low table.. Just sayin..
Onto the snacks! The menu looked very good, however we were there more for conversation so we decided to try the antipasti platter. It was described as the chef's whim, a little of all the small bites. It was f'cking fantastic. The $20 price tag was well worth it. There were proscuitto and cheese fritters and chickpea fritters, both crispy balls of fried goodness with a warm creamy center. There was chicken with currants, beet salad with ricotta, eggplant, mushrooms and other sautéed vegetables. Everything was yummy. It was perfect to pick at, while still being filling and satisfying. We had a ton leftover, in fact there was so much food left that the bartender came over to make sure we liked it. We assured him we had, we were just extremely full.
There are a handful of wines by the glass. The are not inexpensive, the reds start at $11 and go up to $18. I had the Sangiovese ($11) and I was not crazy about it. I am usually hesitant to spend more than $8-$9 on a single glass of wine so I was especially dissapointed that I didn't like the one I chose.
I liked it here very much and I will be back to have a full meal soon. I think it is a great addition to Pickering Wharf.Listed in: My liver kind of hurts..., 'Sup witches, I have to pee

We went with friends on a Friday night. We had reservations so no problem with getting a table. We ordered a drink at the bar while we waited for our friends. Nice bar area and good vibe... full menu is served at the bar and the drinks menu was interesting. I ordered the Racer which is grey goose with muddled strawberries and basil. No added sugar. It was great! Very summery drink on a cold night but it was great.
I ordered the greens salad which was a bed of greens with small slices of potato and perfectly cooked bacon in a light tasty dressing. We also had the salamme plate at the table but it wasn't salame... it was a finely shaved pork loin that my husband loved.
For the meal I ordered the Garganelli with braised duck. It was very good! I thought it may have sat under a heat lamp for just a a minute or two too long as the pasta had just started to dry around the edges. But it wasn't anything major...I'm just a pasta nut and like it cooked perfectly. Which the duck was. very tender and juicy... delicious.
My husband had the braised beef that was also cooked perfectly. Our friends had the scallops and the halibut and they both thought their dishes were very good.
We finished the dinner with homemade donuts and a chocolate toffee dessert. the donuts were crazy good and the choco dessert would have been better warmed.
One disappointment was the service. Our server was nice enough but seemed a bit lost and overwhelmed. Our dinner took an hour to be served. I was just at the point that I was looking for her to ask where our dinners were when she came out with them. The wait was ridiculous. And the water girl looked absolutely pissed off to be there.
I'm sure they are still working out some bugs with the service but if they can get some experienced servers in there it will make a big difference. And maybe look like they want to be there... just a little.
Overall, we will definitely go back... it's a great addition to Pickering Wharf. -

Wow, impressed!
First the service is excellent. Our server was great, very knowledgeable, patient and honest. The food was delicious. Our table shared a few small plates, all delicious. For entrees we had duck, lamb, gnocchi & ox tail and red snapper. All again, delicious. For dessert we shared the plum tart, the cheesecake and toffee pudding. All the food is so well made, from scratch, almost like art work. The menu even tells you where the food is sourced from, which I really appreciate because I will at times make decisions on what I eat depending on where it came from. The atmosphere is very inviting. 62 is how a restaurant should be run, you can tell the management/ownership knows what they are doing from the atmosphere to the drinks to the food to the service to the kitchen. I have nothing negative to say, at all...and I can be judgmental, especially about food.
My family will return here again soon...and again after that...and again. -

YUM YUM YUM
The small plates, friends, just get a bunch of tehm. Heaven, I tell you. We had some asparagus with homemade ricotta that I swear was made of clouds. And a handmade pasta with duck thing with this amazing glaze. There was much more, I just can't remember. And then. AND THEN... The sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Seriously. Save room. You'll want to rub your head in it.
And they make a Pimms cup (that's a cocktail) so unusual, so british, lovely. And the waitstaff are crazy about tthe food too, real eaters, lovers of really good food (but not fussypants,, like those who call themsleves foodies). Really lovely. Just go. -

I can't say enough good things about Sixty2. They don't do brunch anymore, but I've been in for dinner about a half dozen times.
I think the best thing I can say about Sixty2, is that I trust the chef implicitly. I've never been adventurous about foods that I'm not familiar with, but if Tony is preparing them, or pairing them with something I like, I don't ask questions. I just order them. I've never been disappointed.
Simply the best restaurant I've ever experienced. Everything is done right.Listed in: North Shore not to be Missed
