Despite being located at 74 St, 60th Street Desserts does a great job satisfying the Sand Point neighborhood's bakery needs. Originally started as a wholesale business baking for local eateries, the bakery now has it's own (very small) location right near Magnuson Park - perfect for an after-soccer treat.
Be aware that there's no place to sit inside - bring your treats home or make a picnic in the park. The selection was a bit limited, but there are also whole cakes (frozen) that you can take home. I wish they sold more things by the slice, but I did manage to find a single slice of coffee cake which I quite enjoyed.
Overall, an enjoyable food experience. I would return for the whole frozen cakes, especially of the chocolate variety (the traditional chocolate cake looks bomb). -

A tad on the expensive side, but reliable coffee and good chocolate covered macaroon (coconut, not the French variety). Hours are a bit limited, which is good news for my wallet.

Good scones - go early because they run out quickly
Sometimes slow service because they are small and not a lot of people working.
Drive thru expresso is a plus! -

So this place has a pretty random location along Sand Point Way. It's not really near anything major, but that's fine by me because then it stays as a lovely little secret!
They have fantastic lunch options ranging from different sandwiches, soups, delicious salads, and their amazing quiche! They also have a ton of different desserts (go figure...). Their cakes and tarts are just plain scrumptious. Also, get their ginger molasses cookie. It is SOOO GOOD! -

I was excited to try their breakfast burritos and was only slightly disappointed when I found out that they make them ahead of time and just heat them up. My vegetarian breakfast burrito was super tasty, but a little on the soggy side for my tasting, having them reheated in a microwave.
But the dessert, oh god. I took home a slice of the key lime tart and a slice of chocolate cake. I meant to practice portion control and eat only half of each per sitting. Fail!!! That cream on the tart was so light and fluffy. Perfectly sweet and tangy. I couldn't put my fork down and the next thing I know, the entire slice is gone. Same with the chocolate cake. It was super dense, just the way I like it.
My only reason for not giving 5 is because I wish they made their lunch items to order, but I will definitely be back to try every single dessert. -

I'm not sure why I haven't written a review on them yet. They are super close to home and I have stopped in on several occasions for breakfast or coffee or just a sweet treat. Oh well - that is now corrected!
Their savory foods are divine (quiche! quiche! quiche!) and their cookies are fantastic. Good coffee, always served piping hot with a warning and a smile. I like their scones and various other baked goods too (I couldn't resist the lemon poppyseed cake they had on a stand today...it is delicious, though it could stand a bit more lemon-y oomph). They also have a freezer full of things you can bake at home. Service is always friendly and sweet, just what you would hope for from a small independent bakery.
Remember, though: they close in the early afternoon (3 pm, I think), and are closed on Sundays and Mondays, so plan your indulgences around those times. -

60th Street Desserts used to be on 60th Street but kept their name when they moved to 74th Street.
Everything here looks super yummy, but not exactly in my price range so I normally stick to just the coffee. Also important to note, while it says they close at 4PM, they turn off their espresso machine at 3:30PM, so don't go for coffee during the 30 minutes before they close. -

I will go to great lengths to find stuff. So when I learned that Metropolitan Market was selling paczkis, which are supposedly the Polish version of Portuguese malasadas (decent BTW), I had to make a trip to the Sand Point location. Since I was headed that way, I thought it made sense to give 60th Street Desserts a try since I was going to be in the neighborhood.
Having never driven further than MM on Sand Point Way, I was surprised to see that it was kind of farther away than I expected. 60th Street is across from Magnuson Park. Not sure where the 60th comes from, likely not from the address location.
When I got there, I was surprised that they have a small drive through window. It is cute, but I wanted to see the storefront so I parked in the back of the building. The inside of the store is a bit small. This is definitely a takeout place. Not Dahlia Bakery small, but it could probably fit only a couple customers without someone having to wait outside the door.
60th Street offers a lot of prepared foods which you can find in the freezer. There you will find several entrees, soups and desserts including cakes and pies. I think is nice since this part of town seems to be a lot quieter so it is nice to have a place that offers decent frozen meals without having to drive far.
In the end, I ended up getting a peach marionberry scone ($3), a cup of potato leek soup from the freezer ($3) and a slice of the chocolate silk tart ($3.50). The scone was good, yet predictable. It was large, but seemed a little pricey to me. Also wished I could have tasted more of a unique flavor to the scone. I could not taste the peach in it.
As for the potato leek soup, I have to say that this was very good. I placed it in a pot and let it simmer for a bit. The soup was creamy and delicious. I would come back for this. As for the chocolate silk tart, I liked this too. Like it's moniker, it is definitely silky and the taste kind of rolls in your mouth. Very flavorful and an airy delight.
Service here is friendly. In addition, to their bakery and freezer products, they offer sandwiches and quiche so this is a decent stop by for a trip before heading off to Magnuson. And it is great that they are open on Saturday because I would probably not get here otherwise on a weekday.Listed in: Bakery Bonanza, Bakery Bonanza - U.S. & Canada…

Every single cake, bread or soup is made from best ingredients
that money can buy with great attention to detail. This is one of the best bakeries in the nation, but one would never know it based on the store front. Lots of great pre-made frozen foods to pick up from the freezer that once made do not taste like they have ever been frozen. Espresso is solid, and they even have a nice selection of wines. -

"Damn good."
"No wonder they're only open for a few moments a day."
"Damn."
A few of the utterances arising in between bites of a chocolate tart....Perfectly buttery crust, deep rich chocolate base, sweet dense mousse, shavings of dark and white chocolate mingled amongst the peaks of cream. So perfect, I had to slowly savor each bite, letting all the variations of chocolate melt on my tongue and shift from their individual sweetnesses and depths into a union of delicately balanced intensity.
I uttered the same words alone, in the quiet space of my car, upon biting into one of their chocolate peanut butter cups. Which I kept all for myself....If your only experience with peanut butter cups involves the word Reese's, then you don't know what a peanut butter cup is. Dark chocolate shell, thick on the bottom, thin and breakable on top, filled with real sweet creamy peanut butter.
Actually, I think what I said was "Holy s**t".... -

I simply must give props to these lovely ladies that make my grande non-fat mocha and heated breakfast burrito every week. Besides Mae's on Phinney Ridge, 60th St. Desserts makes the BEST mocha in Seattle, hands down. And the afore mentioned breakfast burrito...although it's a little spendy, it's the best breakfast you can get at a drive up espresso window, in my humble opinion.
While I usually only go there for the breakfast option, I have eaten some of the delectable desserts and the soups are out of this world. I don't think I've ever been disappointed with anything at this lil' bakery. EXCEPT HOURS, they are closed on weekends and Mondays too. Which is really too bad...cause Seattle's best mocha would sure do something for my weekly "case of the Monday's." -

Why is 60th Street Desserts on 75th? Does anyone understand this phenomena?
That mystery aside, their desserts have been great every time I have been there! The scones are delicious and I am partial to the pumpkin chocolate chip cookie. They also have good espresso drinks, and their other food looks delicious (they have a mac n' cheese in the fridge that I've had to talk myself out of buying on multiple occasions).
Minus one star for seriously limited hours, and sometimes not even being open when they're supposed to be. -

Eeency weency is the footprint. Ginormous is the yummines. These guys serve THEE best bftst burritos of anywhere. The sandwiches and pastries never fail to satisfy me and the freezer holds many options for a quick dinner. Absolutely the best chocolate covered macaroon this side of... um... the Burke Gilman? You get one free with a lunch purchase.
Drive thru coffee window is a good idea but it's arranged sort of poorly... like you might have to open your door unless you ride an SUV.
They are closed on Mondays. Wha..!?!! Yes, it's true.Listed in: My Neighborhood

More than just desserts!
It took me a while to stop in. I always thought about venturing their drive-thru coffee after a fun time at Magnuson Park but always ended up having to run off somewhere.
Well I finally stopped and ventured in happily. The place is small, only outdoor seating and take out. And they have a lot more desserts. Quiches, sandwiches, hors devours, macaroni and cheese, etc. Just a great mix of snacks, lunches and dinners. To be honest, they seemed a little light on the desserts offered.
We grabbed a frozen quiche, some mexican won ton hors devours, and a slew of their cookies to try. A little pricey, but worth it. The quiche was insanely good. The hors devours were interesting and a great add on to a mexican meal. And the cookies didn't last the day. The peanut butter cookies stood out as the best.
A definite stop when you want to impress guests but don't have the time to cook up something. A great stop for a light lunch. And fun to hit up when you don't want to cook dinner but want to eat something delicious.Listed in: Playing House in Wedgwood

I actually have no idea how the desserts taste, but I will say that their breakfast burrito is the best I have ever tasted... anywhere. This is coming from someone who lived in New Mexico for 5 years and Texas for almost as long... both places where you can't turn around without tripping over a place that serves breakfast burritos.
The white chocolate mocha is good too! -

I've been trying to come here for a very long time...but it always seems closed...either because of holidays, vacation, or just their hours. Finally I forced the boyfriend to give it one last shot today and we stopped by for breakfast.
I got a broccoli cheese and bacon quiche and he got a blueberry scone. The quiche was quite tasty...the pie crust was delicious. The scone was pretty moist and yummy too...probably one of the best desserts I've had.
I'd normally give it 4 stars, but since I've stopped by like 10 times and every time it's been closed I've reduced it down. I'll come back again...so we'll see how it goes next time. Hopefully it won't take 10 more times to find them open. -

This place never seems to be open when I need my java fix...god its ticked me off to get all the way there and sit there only to realize they are closed. They get one more star for an awesome quiche that my son loves... who says real men don't love quiche...well my 7 yo boy does.
Update: I stopped by because I was feeling guilty about 3 stars... one more star because they were open and Yeah and my coffee was just right! -

The Albacore tune salad sandwich was not bad. It was smaller than I expected and didn't fill me up as much as I was hoping. It was a bit dry as well...which I'm guessing is what makes it healthy. The bread is made on site with only organic ingredients. Again, I felt great eating it but it didn't taste great. For such a small establishment this place seems to be doing quite a lot. With fresh baked goods as well as take home to bake meals, it really is just enough to spark my curiosity for a return visit.

There's a lot of dessert and a little deli going on here and the desserts are hip packing lip smacking good. It's a cute ivy covered neighborhood bakery, but people come from all over to get wedding cakes from here too. You can get homemade take and bake pies and cheesecake and pastries and tarts and tortes. And oh yeah, they have salads that look really good, but I've only come for the cakes. There's even a drive through espresso window. If you want a special occasion cake or dessert this is the place. If you just want to indulge this is the place (remember, calories don't count on special occasions or even minor triumph days like remembering to water the plants).

What a disappointment!!! 1st time in there and they made my eggnog latte and told me she would have to charge me double because I didn't cut your eggnog. Wow!!!! That is super lame. That is one way to build clientelle, as we will never be back. So for a few dollars you steered some great folks away for life. Hope it was worth it! We drive by your store 10 times a day!

I work nearby and decided to finally check this place out last week for lunch. There is a bakery counter inside but no seating; one table was outside. The sandwiches were pre-wrapped and looked dull, so I opted for a breakfast burrito instead. They warmed it up in the microwave. The burrito itself was pretty good (cheese, bacon bits, egg, black beans, etc.) but I found the quantity small for the $6 price tag. I also got a "giant Oreo cookie", two chocolate cookies with a puffy creme in the middle. The cookie was okay, a bit too sweet though. The pies and cakes did look good, although they were pricey.

I am addicted to 60th street desserts! The coffee is always excellent, the breakfast burritos are the best around, and every dessert I've tried has been amazing. Almond diamonds, scones, and pumpkin cheesecake are all so yummy. I've also had a few of their lunches (salads, noodles, orzo, etc.) and they are perfect for a light meal when I don't have time to make lunch.

They serve soup, salad, sandwiches and in the freezer take-home meals. It is a small selection, but everything I have tried so far is great!
