If you're in the Delmar Loop area and have an urge to dance and sip on some pretty tasty cocktails you might just want to check out 609 Lounge. Or maybe you are seeking a decent HAPPY HOUR spot, then this is your place too. Forget the restaurant part, don't go here hungry - go thirsty and ready to hang out, listen to some great music and enjoy the Hookah, if that's your thing! (BTW I didn't say forget the restaurant part, b/c it's not good food, I just think that this is a lounge, go with the intention to relax and enjoy the night life). If you go for happy hour or maybe a late night drink and want a snack then by all means make sure you order some tasty snacks off the menu and enjoy!!

Most of my visits have been great, in fact I can not think of a visit when I didn't really enjoy myself. When DJ Madmonk and DJ Show are in the house on their given nights, they do an excellent job keeping the crowd entertained and the bar keeps the drinks coming!

I'm pretty sure that I've had some of the best tasting shots at this bar, kind of like liquid candy!!!! Ask for a cupcake shot or maybe ask for something with a little ginger liqueur in it. HAPPY HOUR at this place never disappoints and if you are feeling spontaneous just ask the bartender to create you a tasty libation, I promise you WILL NOT be disappointed!

When you walk into 609 at first you might think hmmm what's this place all about? Grab a seat at the bar and attempt to take in a liquor lined wall there are just so many items. Or maybe grab a cozy spot in the corner order the hookah with grape tobacco and relax. Or if you really want to kick it up a notch get a booth along the dance floor and prepare to enjoy the dancing kings and queens as the DJ spins your most favorite songs! The décor is somewhat trendy but still offers a casual feel, so don't worry if you're not formally dressed, it's not that kind of place.

Don't worry about walking in and not fitting in, it's a mixed crowd and the bartenders are always friendly and ready to serve. The bathrooms are Unisex, so lock the door behind you when you enter!

Note: I did read the other reviews and I would certainly take those lightly. For instance a review that provides one star b/c of prices on drinks, well in this day and age most places are charging $12 for a martini, so I'd say that 609 is still serving up awesome drinks and happy hour specials at prices you will have a hard time finding at other places nearby!

For whoever said that St. Louis is a back country bumpkin of a town, you obviously don't know the real Lou. And at its heart is one of the hippest lounges you'd find anywhere - no matter if it's NYC, Miami or even the good ol' Missoura.

Amazing drinks at the bar, with by boy Sui serving up the libations, a hip,  relaxed lounge feel and cool beats from local DJ's you every night. What more could you ask for on a strip that is dominated by tourist-overrun pubs and beer halls?

If only the old restaurant were still around pumping out the best fusion fare in the city,  you would have seen Yelp's first SIX star review.

Listen, I'm not very good at math, but I do know what thing for sure: 609 = #1.

Papa loves a good joint to hit after a hard day's work...and 609 is my fave.  The place is nice enough that in the bright lights, it doesn't feel like a bar but a nice place to sit and relax.  (Although, at night, the joint is HOPPIN'!)

A nice happy hour at 609 means fantastic cocktails from friendly waiters and delish dishes to nosh on while you sip your alcoholic delights.  I personally love love LOVE the sweet potato fries and the wings.  Scrumptious.

Even though the food is great, it really is about the drinks, right?  If you go, get the South Beach.  Whatever is in that little piece of heaven, I'll have four more, thank you very much.  And, if you are adventurous, just tell the bartender to whip you up something tasty.  They never disappoint.

So, go.  Kick back and relax.  Tell them hi for me...and don't forget to try the South Beach!

    I'm so confused!

First 609 was Asian fusion. Pretty tasty, although a little pricey. Soba noodles with spicy seafood dish was a pretty awesome standout.

Then 609 became an 'upscale' Chinese restaurant. Overpriced but OK-especially for lunch fare.

NOW, 609 is back to being Asian-fusion? And they have a new menu? One that doesn't even work online?

    Oy.

    Make up your mind!

Full disclosure: I am totally biased, because my friend's dad owns U Lounge.

Still, I think even if I didn't know the owner I would love this place. I've come here on many an occasion and had a blast. The design is super cool, and there are lots of fun cocktails and great music (different DJs every night). There are small private rooms in the back of the lounge you can reserve for smoking hookahs.

The attached 609 restaurant is really delicious. My parents go here all the time for dinner, and not merely to support the owner - it's just that good. The menu is sort of Asian fusion, and it's seasonal so there are always fresh ingredients. I'm not all that into desserts, but I absolutely loved the creme brulee sampler, which comes with five ramekins of the dessert in different flavors. I just checked out the menu and the current flavors are blackberry, coffee, strawberry, pumpkin, and cranberry. The flavor that stands out in my memory from the time I tried it was a lemongrass ginger creme brulee - yum!

Go here for dinner, then head next door to the lounge for some after dinner cocktails, music, dancing, and a little hookah tobacco (if you're so inclined). You'll have a great time.

I had a better experience dining out on cheaper restaurants than this place. Servers were unfriendly, saw the owner few times and such a snob. The only thing this place has going is the full bar, they have the best drink selections. Food are so pretentious, it tries so hard to be an upscale restaurant when the fact it's just the same as other average places.

Last time I was there it smells like cigarettes. When I complained to the server, they gave me an excuse that the smoke eater machine that was located in the bar part was broken. I don't smoke and I would not like to smell cigarettes while eating my dinner. Also to be noted, there are too many rules on the all you can eat sushi. Plus, crab rangoon? Is that even japanese? I also tried the california rolls and I found out they use fake crab meat. Horrible! How can you claim that you even serve sushi? And 1-dollar sushi? I smell desperation move on the management.

The lack of parkings also one of the reason that makes me won't come back. If I ever decide to go for japanese food on the loop, I can just go to Seki. Better food, better atmosphere and less pretentious. Skip this place and save your money on some other place.

This is not my kind of bar.  I'm generally not a fan of bars on the Delmar Loop, and this one didn't really change my feeling on that.  To be honest, I feel more at home at dive bars or, with no other way of saying it, hipster bars. The music made me think "gay dance club" and the crowd made me think "straight meat market".

I guess it's a restaurant as well, but to be honest, I had no idea of that until I thought I smelled pretty potent and oniony BO, which I was worried was somehow me, until I realized it really was onions, onion rings, I believe, being scarfed down at the other end of the bar.

The drinks are a little on the pricey side, but they do have quite a few drink specials listed on a little blackboard.  For example, you can get a well drink for $2.25 on a Wednesday if you have a student id.

It was fine for a couple of drinks, but not somewhere I will go back with any frequency.  Not that it's a bad bar, just not really the sort of bar that I enjoy.

This place suck! Concierge at my hotel recommended this place for sushi and drinks for my friends and I. We were there at record time which was 20 mins. 1 drink and a rude server. Seriously, if you want a tip you have to be nice and take customer's orders.  This establishment is such a joke. The owners that was bartending should address the issue of taking care of customers as soon as they walk in. this doesn't even deserve a star.

Such a love/hate relationship I have with alcohol.
While all their drinks were delicious (although I have no idea what they were), so many came at me my bill was $100!  And i really hadn't intended to spend that much.  BUT! you can rent a hookah and they give you little plastic tips so you dont get herpes and other fun diseases and they let you mix the flavors.  My drunk ass thought mixing flavors was the greatest thing since sliced bread so I was all over that.  i would seriously recommend honey and melon together, and passion fruit and peach.  so good.  seriously, get drunk and mix the flavors its great.  also there is a DJ and you can dance all night long...until closing.  although i'm kindof upset with him, he wouldn't play Peaches even though we asked, and there were probably 4 other people in the place.

$5 for a Budweiser and $8 for a vodka tonic? Pretty much sums it up right there.
