For a night club looking as posh (I'm not quite sure if that's the right word for it but oh well) and as popular among my friends, 606 Lounge has been a hit or miss for me. Every weekend that I hang out at 606 Lounge I come out feeling differently every time.

Once you cross the velvet rope and into the door, you get your coat check to the left (and I appreciate a place that still does the coat check, at least I don't have to leave my motorcycle helmet out by the bike or carrying it around inside,) and what I called the "waiting area" to the right. There are high bar tables here if you want to hang back off the dance floor and just observe. There's one VIP section beside the tending bar, and on the other end is the DJ booth. There is also a stretch of bench seat on the DJ's side of dance floor. The patio is where lots of folks hang out, if you are into smoking or people that smoke.

So from the look it is almost no different than other clubs down the Glenwood stretch, then the varied experience must be from the people that frequent the place. Since I've here the first time I have experienced the following: a piss match between two drunk Jersey Shore rejects that ended the night early for both of them; three "more than tipsy" girls doing "Coyote Ugly" routine on the bench across VIP; someone slipped on spilled beer and totally busted her behind, and took her girlfriends down with her; a metro looking french dude with hot pants (oh yeah, we are talking about Daisy Duke kinda deal) totally got his groove back on the dance floor; not to mention keep running into some friends that just cannot seem to stay out of trouble.

Despite all that, I would still come hang out with my friends; if for nothing else, this "Jersey Shore Live" has been keeping me from boring weekends.

*P.S.* did someone mentioned there's cookout at some nights? Nothing that will feature on the Food Network, just your standard grilling burgers and hotdogs. Tips appreciated.

I just experienced my fist encounter with 606 Lounge. I've had a few friends say they've been there and I wanted to see what it was all about.

Let me preface this review by telling you about the very first moments after I left this place. I was driving home, hands at 10 and 2, brow scrunched, eyes wide, lips pursed thinking "what the heck?!?!"

I've been trying to carefully construct this review in my head, to keep this Yelp friendly. So here goes, (if you'd like the unfiltered review, just ask)....

The staff was lovely. The end.

This place really weirded me out. I'm not sure if it was the girls dressed in as much material as dish cloths, the groups of men starring at my friend and I like they've never seen a woman before, or the jealous boyfriend of a girl breathing down my neck asking me to taste his drink while he tells me how he's going to "kill some guy if he walks in here" but I am not a fan of this place.

I think it would have potential if it was more upscale and down to earth. But, well, if you're looking for a place to get trashed and dance, this is your spot.

There. That's the nicest review I could post.

I only wish there was a "0 Star" rating for this site. Well, my experience with 606 was brief. I didn't even get in the door! I'd looked this place up online and decided it looked like a place I'd enjoy. Last night my friend and I arrived, and the door guy took one look and asked if we had our "club membership cards" with us. I sensed BS, but didn't confront him or anything. I told him I hadn't heard anything about a membership card, and he told us to go online and look it up.

We ended up going to Red Room, met a couple of guys there, and we all headed to Solas. The guys told us they'd been in 606 and confirmed that the "membership card" was non-existent. At that point I'd barely had anything to drink. My ass definitely wasn't hanging out of the bottom of a skirt, or tits popping out. From reading  some of these reviews it appears that they only let in girls who are highly intoxicated with barely there clothing, and men.

I shrugged it off, but I find myself a little surprised at this discrimination. It's the first time I've ever been turned away at the door. If I'm a decently dressed, well-mannered individual, why should I be turned away from spending my MONEY in any establishment? Bad move 606 Lounge.

My friends brought me out to this martini bar a couple months ago. We were greeted at the bar by a very friendly bartender who made some incredible martinis. At face value they seem a bit pricey, but we definitely got what we paid for. The banana split and chocolate mint martinis were excellent.

The inside decor and lighting was sleek and sophisticated; the outdoor patio area was comfortable and inviting; and a DJ is there on Tuesday nights to provide an upbeat soundtrack to the night. I appreciated that there was a danceable floor space. The DJ was kind enough to play our request of Tik Toc so my friends and I could practice a dance we had been working on in dance class...before the midnight crowd rolled in, of course. It was fun to entertain the bartender to show our appreciation of her delicious high octane concoctions.

The owner was a refreshingly down-to-earth guy. He's managed to pull off sophisticated without coming off as pretentious...The panache of GaGa with the heart of Cheers.

Free Food Alert: The owner serves up free food at midnight on Tuesdays...and when I say, he serves it up, I mean he's right there serving as grillmaster...we're not just talking a catered spread. I appreciated the hands-on, personal vibe. The offerings vary from week to week. That night it was hamburgers and hot dogs along with some fabulous garlic and lime chicken wings. I don't know if this is ongoing, but it was still happening as of last month.

This was a decent for a friday night. No cover. Open dance floor, drinks was a reasonable price. The crowd did not start filling in until later. My main complaint was the DJ was playing 90's hip hop and R&B, plus some music that just poor taste. We also saw him leave his DJ both multiple time go to the bathroom and then socialize. This just is not to cool. He said he took request however after almost two hours, he did not play any of the requested songs. Think this place could be real good if they hired a real DJ playing the lastest music, with customized mixes.

good god. whether it's the sloppy swill spill on the sword fight encrusted bar, (though the underlit granite is spectacular, a throwback from previous ownership-the only feature) the extremely not exclusive budget roped off 5x5 VIP "area" or the generally thugged out-mike the situation type nature of the patrons, I'd rather rest on a bed of hypodermic needles than hang out here.

alleged coke supply in bathrooms to fist fights this is thug as it gets. if you don't have a girlfriend, you are better off at solas. if you do have a girlfriend expect groping and a fist fight.

the only reason i gave it a star is b/c they don't have a NO star on yelp, and the $25 champagne bottles make u feel like a baller. unfortunately no women around to notice.

go to redroom, solas, amras, mosaic, even armadillo grill before pulling out your sword or wallet here.

    loser central.

What a disappointment here......where to even begin really? Our group left solas to check out this place and try something new. What we experienced:

    Watered down drinks.
    Seedy patronage.
Overcrowding, way past fire code reg. I'm sure.
    Unfriendly staff.
    Horribly disgusting bathrooms.

Honestly save your money, avoid this craphole.
