Review from Carl F.

What a GREAT place. It appears to be a Cultural Collective in addition to a Coffee Shop, but I went in for the coffee.
They have a sign: "Every dollar you spend is a vote for the kind of world you want to live in." I couldn't agree more.
This is a very socially conscious place. They only sell Fair Trade coffee. They offer Organic Milk. They also (surprisingly, perhaps) offer plain whole milk. I guess they are vegans.
I am not a vegan, but I am in full sympathy with those who find the corporate practices of giant agri-business to be pretty damned disgusting.
I felt very at home here. I loved the music that was playing (Bob Marley and George Clinton), I felt sympatico with the young man behind the counter. I felt good about spending money here, because it's the kind of store I WANT to support.
Oh - the important stuff: the coffee and meta we had were REALLY, REALLY, REALLY yummy. About the best I've ever had in fact.
Next time I'm in New Paltz, I'm dropping by for a cup of coffee again. -

Go there to taste and support the local vibe, chill out, be an anarchist for a bit.
Do not go for coffee unless you like burnt bland poorly made imbalanced espresso that was ground in the same grinder as someone else's hazlenut. What an impressive destruction of organic fair trade coffee. True anarchy in a cup. -

60 main has gotten a lot more beautiful in the three years i've been going to new paltz. it is currently gorgeously painted while still retaining all the heart it had back in its shabby days. beware of the townies sitting in front of it, but once you're inside, look for sophia, she's a doll :D this is the more environmentally conscious coffee/tea date spot, as opposed to the muddy cup chain next door. be sure to stop by when there's an event going on, it's sure to be a good time :)
