10 reviews for 6 Corners
6 Corners is the newest addition to Bucktown. This sports bar does not have any alliegances and they show ALL games. How great is that? Pretty great.
As a Packers fan, I don't typically like to go out to bars to watch games because of all the smack talking that people like to do. Yes, yes, I know that Chicagoans love the Bears, but there are other teams too and I'm just as willing to spend my money on an establishment's food and drinks while watching my favorite team. 6 Corners understands that.
The owners are incredibly nice and hospitible, taking the time to chat with their patrons and talk fantasy football. The menu is a little different, but good. I will be back 6 Corners!
No Soul. Its just an empty room with blaring TVs and a fresh coat of shellac.
I admit, I did not eat here, but really nothing about this place made me want to travel down that road. It's just awkward, reminding me I am awkward.........which is exactly opposite of what I want to feel when I am out at a bar.
I met my cousin here to watch the Bears v 49ers. Generally, I don't hang out in Wicker Park/Bucktown. It's too crowded and finding parking is not easy. Of course there are some exceptions- Hot Chocolate, The Bristol and now 6 Corners.
When I walked in I wasn't that impressed. I have to admit that I am pretty loyal to the Westend and aesthetically this place fails in comparison. But I kept an open mind and tried not to judge a book by its cover. From the moment I sat down, I enjoyed myself. The huge projection screen behind the bar had a crystal clear image that actually made me feel like I was at the game. Our server was extremely friendly. She helped me navigate the slightly confusing menu (sauces seem to be the theme here). I ordered honey BBQ wings with fries and I chose a garlic Parmesan aoli for dipping (fries). It did take a while for my food to come to the table but I was watching the game and enjoying my beer. Plus, our server stopped by and apologized for the food taking so long...what else can you ask for? Once my food did arrive, it was well worth the wait. The wings were huge. They were tossed in the honey BBQ sauce (you have the option of having the sauce on the side). These wings were delicious. The fries were seasoned well and the garlic parm aoli was perfect for them. I almost had to fight my cousin to keep him out of my basket of fries.
I have two complaints about this place. 1) Bathrooms. You cannot have a sports bar filled with people drinking and have 1 bathroom (1 men's & 1 women's). The line was 5 deep when I had to go. 2) Wet Naps. If you are going to serve wings (and only have 1 bathroom) get some wet naps for people to clean their hands. Lastly, if you could do something about Jay Cutler throwing all those interceptions, I'd appreciate it. :-)
I had never been in D'Vine, which used to occupy this space. Well, I'll never be going back to 6 Corners either. Where to begin... the volume of the TVs are beyond louder than they need to be. I understand it's a sports bar, but really? My wife and I were in here on a Sunday afternoon to grab some food and watch the Bears game. We waited almost 45 minutes to get our food, which when it arrived, left even more to be desired.
The 3 sliders I ordered were charred / completely overdone with little taste. They were so dry, that if it wasn't for the dipping sauces that it came with and the fact that I was starving, I probably wouldn't have finished them. The potato wedges we ordered arrived another 15 minutes AFTER our meals and only included 7 fri-size pieces. Let's just say I actually wished I had gone to Burger King instead for their $1 double cheeseburger... especially while seeing the commerical over and over again on the TVs.
Anyway, enough is enough. I'll stop writing - you get the point. Skip out on this place or at least wait a year until they get themselves together.
Great laid back sports bar. Good drinks, great service, and cool owners. Exactly what Bucktown needed. My wife loved the Cosmos and funnel cakes. Definitely worth checking out.
Can I give a review with zero stars? If I could I would for this place. Went here on a Thursday night to watch the Bears game. In short, this place sucked. They have some kind of concept where you order a bunch of appetizers (almost all deep fried) and then a bunch of sauces. The food was really gross and the sauces were terrible. I doubt this place will last long unless they can make enough money off of the super-drunk crowd at 4am.
Finally back in the yelping mode after a long hiatus...And what a better way to start then with a surprising eve. 6 corners (where d'vine used to be - the dwelling of the semi humanoids) was a pleasant change of pace even though a sports bar (as we need another ten lol) the staff was great, gracious and accommodating - the atmosphere though somewhat stark was quite fun, patrons of all sorts and persuasions mingled effortlessly. Am so glad attitude is not tolerated there - what a surprise in Wicker park. Food was outstanding especially the sliders and dipping sauces, service was quick, the owner takes good care of their clients. A definite spot to relax, have fun and not be hassled by the ever so present wicker park obnoxious rich bohemian hipster wannabees - a real place to hang with real people - one note the sound can get a bit loud but im sure the kinks are still being worked out.
I'm a big fan of catching college football action, the Bears, or a Bulls game at a local bar. 6 Corners got it right. The owners did a complete makeover of the previous bar in the space (D'Vine) and created a no-nonsense sports bar. I've stopped in a couple of times since they've opened and agree that they are working out a couple of minor kinks with the food (more timing than anything else).
I think there are more screens per square foot than any other bar in Chicago making this a great place to keep your eye on several games at the same time (great for confidence pool and fantasy football players)! I've had the manager or owner change channels for me on several screens to see the programming I wanted....sweet!
The food is great - a step above regular bar food as I think most of it is prepared fresh and the sauces are excellent.
All in all - this is a great place to grab a few drinks, good bar food, and to take in a game (or 5). I'll be back often!
Great sports bar! Every game that we wanted to watch was on a TV that one could see from any seat. Waitstaff was excellent - our waitress was incredibly friendly and the owners of the bar talked with us for awhile and were super nice. This is really the only true sports bar in Bucktown - Cans and Northside aren't real sports bars. The food is available until the place closes. We had already eaten but we got dessert - mini funnel cakes with your choice of dipping sauces, and a brownie sundae. Both desserts were absolutely delicious! Drink specials - $5 you-call-it, including Red Bull and vodka - pretty darn good! Cooper T.'s (see review) wife and I had the cosmos and they were excellent! Will definitely be coming back to 6 Corners!
I was excited when i saw an actual sports bar in the neighborhood, but it left a lot to be desired. The special of the night was $5 you call its seemed like a good deal so i ordered a crown and ginerale or should I say a ginerale with a tiny splash of crown royal! I actually made the bartender measure out a shot on my next drink just to prove a point and just stuck to beer after that so I knew what I was getting. Food took about 45 mins and a few excueses to come out, but when it did it was decent. besides the TV which are awesome the decor is boring. The owner is very friendly and attractive. This place is brand new and I hope they get it together because it would actually be a good spot to hang out.
