This place is amazing.  In addition to the 24-hour sandwiches and decent basics, they have some kind of creepy mind-reading capability that I'll never get over.  I missed Gosling's Ginger Beer after a trip to Bermuda, and it showed up at 5th Avenue Market.  I missed Sprecher's root beer after growing up in the Midwest, and it showed up at 5th Avenue Market.  I don't know how they do it, but I hope they continue.

Also, the guys who work here are rad.

A man with a nervous disposition and a large carton of orange juice tried to squeeze past me at the sandwich counter. His awkward shuffling was hindered only by my motiveless 1am erection.

When my salad was ready I gave the man behind the counter seven dollars and fifty cents and tried to avoid eye contact.

This place is the epitome of what a bodega should be. They carry a little bit of everything,  make some of the best sandwiches in the neighborhood and best of all its open 24 hours! I send my guests here all the time who are looking for a late night snack or a quick bite. Its a no-brainer.

The selection of craft beers is very reasonable, but you can also snag a tallboy if you're looking to keep it classy. The produce is fresh, the deli is Delicious and they have 60+ sandwiches on the menu- including a separate vegetarian menu. My favorite is the reuben. I don't know what their secret ingredient is but that sandwich is absurdly good.

Lastly, the staff is always real friendly and personable. They seem like they're happy you're there.

The only negative thing i could come up with is that prices for the grocery items tend to be higher than if you were shopping at a super market. But this is to be expected from any bodega.

Insert Obligatory 1/2 Star Request here...

One of the best decisions of my life is moving down the block from this place. The only reason it isn't 5 stars because like all bodegas (especially nice and trendy ones like this one) there is a little bit of a mark up on product prices.

Here is a list of why I love this place:

    5. Open 24-7 for all your midnight snacking needs.
    4. The fresh fruits and veggies don't look like they are 19 years old.
    3. When I asked them to surprise me, they made a baller sandwich (I get ordering anxiety and eat everything).
    2. No one judges the fact that I occasionally buy a bag of funyons for myself at 3am.
    1. No matter how scrubby I look the cashier always pretends to know me and (tastefully) flirts with me. What a delight!

This place is the Moe's Tavern of bodegas! How so....it was the only place in the slope that never closed during Hurricane Irene. Even when your weed delivery guy was off-the-grid, 5th Ave Market was still slingin' hash!

First, it's the staff. My man at the register (whom I believe to be named 'bossman' and is seemingly always there) is the jovial kind and treats you the same regardless of what shape you're in...and believe me, he's seen you at your 4:37am Jersey Shore worst.

Way above average sandwiches in both options and quality, all freshly made-to-order before your eyes. And even when there's a line (yes the good word is out) you'll never wait more than a few mins.

But the things that keeps me coming back is the kick ass Ben N Jerry's selection which no other grocery store can seem to touch. I think they got a guy, who knows a dude, who once hitch-hiked to a Phish show in VT, who knows Ben. Or something like that. Point is, when you're craving "Americone Dream," chances are they'll have it.

Great organic produce & healthy options here too.

I like to pop in, grab some grass jelly drink(yes they carry obscure asian YEO brand drinks) and occasionally have a staring contest with MO. This place was friendly b4 I moved into the neighborhood and still proves to be an awesome deli. They have good HUGE sandwiches made to order and a huge variety of CHIPS. I would be a little careful of the frozen food and ice cream stuff, as I have purchased old mochi ice cream b4. Otherwise you are in good, friendly hands.

What can I say about the Berkeley Deli? The sandwiches are always great, I opt for Grilled Chicken and not deli meats. I am addicted to their sandwiches. They have a great option of specialty sodas, juices and iced teas. They also have a pretty good (but regular Park Slope priced) beer selection.

The staff is amazing. I adore every single one of them. Especially the two men who work the register (I am actually Facebook friends with one of them!). I do not live in Park Slope, but my ex-boyfriend does. After making my first visit in two months, they treated me with open arms!

Seriously, I don't know what they put in those sandwiches but they are worth every last penny (averaging at about $6/6.50)

    Godfather Meets The Pope

Monday night, 8:30 PM. An icepack on my swollen, twisted ankle. Two beers and a pain pill on an empty stomach. I gotta eat something or I'm gonna be sick. Nothing I can think of even moves my hand toward the phone, let alone my feet toward my boots.

    Gravy.

    Gravy gots what I need.

Gravy needs to be in me real real quick.

With all due respect to the Godfather of Soul, the hardest workin man in show business, this is what I imagine would happen if he went to 5th Ave Market and ordered The Pope of 5th Avenue sandwich: luscious, tender sliced roast beef and provolone smothered in rich brown gravy on a footlong hoagie.

So sing along, one and all, to the tune of "I Can't Stand Myself (When You Touch Me)"

    HUNNNHHHHYEOWWW

    Early in the mornin
    Cant stand myself
    gotta get you in me
    BAAAAYYYYBBBEEEEE
    Good God Yall

    hunnhhhh

can't stand it without you baby
    I just cant be satisfied

    come here wit dat gravy

    Tim, pass me dem chips

    Good God

    Uhhhhh OOOOWWWWWWW
    I can't stand it
    Ican't stand myself
I can't stand it without your gravy

You know baby what its all about

    Heowww  Good God

    eeeeeyyyaaaaahhhh

    When I eat ya
    It fix my soul yall

    good god

This place is awesome. I go here a couple of times a week and I am never disappointed. The sandwiches are fresh and made to order and they have an incredible variety. The produce is always great and the store has an incredible selection of organic and regular products. They have everything from cough medicine, to organic milk.

The staff is super friendly and very helpful. I will often opt to shop here instead of the big grocery store, because their products are better at 5th ave market.

This isn't just any run of the mill grocery-deli combo, seeing as it's open 24 hours, it's one of two midnight munchies saviors in Park Slope. They have a huge selection of sandwiches and wraps to choose from that makes it hard to make it decision after you've had a few, and the guys that run the place are super nice and never seem to leave.  They're always there whether its 3pm or 3am.

While inhaling a tasty Chicken Parmesan wrap at 3am is maybe not the healthiest thing neither is going to sleep drunk on an empty stomach.

I used to go to this deli all the time while I was working. They have a great staff and a huge selection for a bodega. They always have what I'm looking for.

There is something wrong with you if you can't find what you need here. Every neighborhood needs it's own 24-hour badass sandwich shop, and praise be 5th Ave has it covered for Park Slope and the rest of Brooklyn. Great go-to for post-hangover restoration, or the 3am crawl home. That said, their food is so good that you can even go sober. Big fan of the Godfather meat monstrosity, and of the awesome staff. What beats a smile, a joke, and some good Brooklyn fooding?

Great deli, open 24 hours a day.Great friendly staff. I was ambushed by all their health foods, organics. Where's the Wise potato chips?. Why are they so freaking expensive, oh I forgot they're in Park Slope. But it was a great place to grab a quick bite after a night of drunken debauchery, yummy carrot cake, or was it chocolate cake? . My drunken memory robs me...sorry,next time I'll take a pic and store in my phone like *Memento!
    *Polaroid not included!

I've lived a mere 2 blocks from this deli for three years, and man, it doesn't get better than this.

The best part is the sandwiches. The Real Nice! Tofu, pesto, tomatoes, spinach, toasty ciabatta. Oh brother, sign me up. And if you want it 3am, no freaking problem. One of the best make-your-own-salad places in Park Slope, too. So fresh, so tasty.

The guys that run the place are ridiculously nice. They always want to know what you're up to, where you've been, how you're doing, where you're headed. Sweethearts.

Huge selection of nondairy, organic, etc etc etc. Best bodega, ever.

We dropped in Sunday afternoon to pick up a sandwich for a lunch break in the middle of visiting open houses. For $7 you get a very fresh, satisfying sandwich, in record time! We got the Godfather - not as good or as large as Sal & Kris's Deli in Astoria, and not as toasty and cheese melty as City Sub, but it'll do. :)

YUM! and 24 hour delivery?! Yes yes yes yes! I loved the california wrap with chicken salad and bacon and lettuce and avocado all wrapped up in a giant sun-dried tomato tortilla! BF got the godfather #1, also incredibly tasty. Feels a lot cleaner than diner food (not less caloric necessarily, but less greasy and sketch.)

Downside was a kind of slow delivery-- 45 minutes-- but it was a Friday night, so I'll allow it.

I've lived right around the corner for only 6 months and the guys who work here already make my friends and I feel like we've been here for years.
Order a bacon, egg, and cheese, with avocado and you may never eat anything else for the rest of your life. I've gotten numerous friends addicted to this, along with this place, and the best thing about it is consistency, they're always solid.
I just started trying some of the other sandwhiches and have always come away satisfied. You can't go wrong with the #16, drawing a blank on what it's called now though. Outside of the fact I always get a few laughs while I'm here, the sandwhich ingredients always seem to be fresh, along with the produce they carry and the large variety of anything else a human being could need.
Go here, you will be happy, and you will be remembered.

Worst day delivery people ever!!! The few times i have ordered during the day the rudest people put me on hold for extended periods of time and then are terrible to me on the phone... then take an hour to get to me (i am a block and a half away and i never order anything cooked) once they came so late that i had to leave the house because i had a cab waiting for me... i just called and they yelled at me about it after keeping me on hold for ten minutes. NEVER order from this place unless you get the nice night guy... who ever is there on saturday days is a creep! He should be fired!

Everything I've eaten here was great- sandwiches, wraps, salads- breakfast & lunch! The guys preparing the food are super nice. Alex has suggested sandwiches when I couldn't make up my mind with the extensive list they have & it's always a good choice. The 1 negative- when it's crowded they can mess up your order.  I think my fave is the chicken fajita wrap with yummy avocado.  Also has fruits, veggies, beer, some  (junk & "healthy") snacks, & more.  No seating area. 24 hrs.

It's all conveniently here. It carries a lot of stuff that costs far more at Union Market. Also, the guys behind the counter are very friendly. I love their sense of humor. Always good to go into a place that acknowledges you and makes the experience personable.
