OMG!! a miracle happened in manayunk.
background: for quite a while now, i've been living with the curse of curly/frizzy/unattractive hair. a lot of manipulation is required to whip the coif into some acceptable shape, though in the summer an hour's work is ruined in half an hour if the humidity rises above 60%, which is 99% of the time. When in Florida, it takes 5 minutes after getting out of the plane to look like shirley temple. In the Caribbean, 2 days and dreads take hold. it's inappropriate, unnerving, and people laugh.
Enter 5th Ave Hair Studio. And the Brazilian (but made in USA, no formaldehyde or bad chemical smells) Keratin Hair Straightening Treatment, which turned out to be just the thing i've been waiting for my whole life, and it took just over 2 hours. It's unbelievable...my hair is now straight! and healthy, even though it's highlighted and fine. it's raining, my hair is straight; i play softball and sweat, my hair is straight. i don't have to cancel dates because of 'bad hair day'. i could go on, but obviously i'm thrilled with the work Karina and her assistant performed. and so worth the cost. people don't point and laugh anymore; that's priceless.
