Dined here in the past w/ the sibling as she treated me out for a late birthday. To my surprise she tells me, "Order whatever you want. Screw the total! It's on the husband's card!"

Here I am asking her, "Are you sure?"

She replies with, "F* it aye!"

I then shrug my shoulders & reply, "Huuhkay!"

First things first: That Bone-In Ribeye that everyone speaks so highly of & a Lychee Martini of course. Yum & Yum!!!

We then went crazy trying other thangs & it was just one of those types of dining.

      Our server: Super attentive
      Ambiance: Very romantical
Dishes ordered: Tasty & presentation was appetizing
Would I return?: When they re-open of course

Ordered Creamed Spinach, Potato Au Gratin, A5 Wagyu Filet, A5 Wagyu Ribeye. Food was delicious and the servers were friendly and helpful. Four stars because we made reservations and still had to wait over 30 minutes to be seated and the food took longer than usual to be served.

Fine steaks from all over the world, they serve a sea bass, which is good. A voyager is a good drink. The beef is like butter, melting in your mouth. Mac n cheese, carrot ginger salad, the beet salad was good. The cream brûlée. The best steak lovers place. @ a cost $120

I know this location is currently closed right now but I thought I give my two cents about my experience here. Parking was not too bad as I was able to find street parking upon arrival. I mean it's San Francisco we are talking about here. Parking here wasn't as bad as other restaurants around the area. Restaurant was spacious and staff was kind. Definitely more of a upscale steak restaurant so dress to impress! I believe their website have a dress code also.

I came in a large group for a birthday party. The host booked a multiple course dinner. Therefore, I believe we had a set menu with different items to choose for each course. I tried a little bit of everything. My favorite was the Lobster Tempura and the Sea Bass. Flavor profile is there but both dishes felt like I've tasted it before elsewhere. Nothing original or I feel like haven't done before. My least favorite was the Truffle Mac and Cheese. The Mac and cheese was dry. The truffle was over powering the whole dish. How can you have enough truffles right? Wrong! It was too much truffle that I had to move on to the next dish. A few of my friends also ordered different cuts of steak, which I tried and thought it good but again not spectacular.

Now here is the reason I'm giving this place two stars. I came with a group of over 12 people so we were well aware that gratuity will be included. With that being said, we booked this dinner to celebrate a birthday. What do people do for birthdays? Some people bring a cake to sign and cut at the restaurant right. Little did we know someone brought a cake as a surprise for the birthday boy. After we were all finish eating, my friend ask the waitress if she can have the kitchen cut the cake for us or provide us with a knife for her to cut the cake herself whichever is more convenient. To our surprise the waitress said the restaurant will charge 5 dollars per slice just to cut OUR own cake that we brought. Is this not ridiculous or is it just me? I mean come on, charging people to cut the cake and charging per slice is something none of us at the table heard before. I've been to many causal and upscale restaurants, I've never heard of such a thing. Mind you our bill with gratuity came out to be over six thousand dollars. I wish I took a picture of the receipt.

The food was good yes, but not something I would crave or want to come back for. Especially now knowing that this restaurant is charging people just to cut cake. I just wish they had a better approach to certain situations like this. This is very bothersome because it was a birthday and I don't see why it was so hard to cut a cake without charging extra. We didn't mind the amount due at the end of the dinner but the fact that the restaurant couldn't have done it as a kind gestures. Not even a complimentary dessert is appalling. For a restaurant as upscale and expensive as this one I expected more when it came to customer service and overall experience dining here.

This place is amazing and best service ever. A must when in the city. I like the 70s vibe it gives off when you walk in and see the lights. The comfy
booths give you privacy to talk at your leisure. I came here with my sister and cousin and got lost in our on little universe only being interrupted by the arrival of food or drinks.
Our server was gracious and funny and the best at recommending dishes. All skillfully presented and plated to perfection. The Wagyu was all the rage when we came as it is at every steakhouse. The side dishes were also delish and satisfying with our meat selections.
My cousin big fan of their desserts. Great date night place worth the money and splurge if you will when getting their Wagyu-

Great steak house with amazing drinks! I heard about this place so I had to check it out for myself and it definitely lived up to expectation. I ordered the the 23oz T-bone which was topped with an egg and a side of Mac n cheese. Everything was great and the service was exceptional! The steak was juicy and had the right seasoning to compliment the egg. When you pop the yolk it pairs well with the T-bone giving it a good balance.

I also love the decor when you walk in very modern and trendy. It feels like you're really in a lounge of some sort instead of just an upscale steak house. Perfect for a classy date night or a business outing I recommend anyone try this place!

The 5s in this restaurant's name signify not only the highest quality of beef, but also the number of stars it deserves. It's the best steakhouse I've been to - no question. Top 5 dead or alive! It's definitely a treat because it's a pricey place, but it's money well spent.

      The food:

      1. Lobster tempura - 5/5. Wow. Tender lobster tail expertly fried in tempura. Whenever I order tempura, I usually have some beef with it - it's oily, soggy, the sauce sucks, etc. There's no flaws here. NONE. The sauce is slightly sweet, just like my Baachan (grandmother) used to make. Bra-friggin-vo.

      2. Mashed potatoes - 100/5. How on God's green Earth do they make these?! Never had such a creamy, pillowy spoonful of mashed potatoes. We asked the waitress what they do, and they add creme fraiche to get it silky 90s R&B smooth. The bacon cubes on top is the best bacon I've ever had. It's thick, sweet and all the fat is rendered off so it's just a huge chunk of crispy goodness.

      3. Creamed spinach - 5/5. YES. It's not heavy and it's not overly rich. It's perfect and it was the least favorite of the things we ordered. How dare they.

      4. Tajima F1 NY - 10000000/5. The 4 oz was $85. It's definitely the most expensive piece of steak I've ordered (by weight) and this one of the cheaper "wagyu" options. My coworker had never had wagyu before. He's ruined now because he said this is the best steak he's ever had. Demi glace is unparalleled and the beef is cooked to perfection. It melts away in your mouth.

In addition, they throw in amuse bouche offerings that I don't remember but definitely enjoyed. I had drinks as well at the bar before (and after because why not) that were some of the best mixed drinks I've had. Also, the bacon bread is otherworldly. Cannot rave enough about this place. Top notch.

This restaurant may be known (rightfully so) primarily for their wagyu, but it's also home to one of the largest cuts of ribeye I've ever been served!

I have had the pleasure of dining here three times and have tried their multiple cuts of wagyu set, ribeye, prime rib and filet mignon entrees.

I've never had wagyu before so it's hard to compare, but their wagyu wasn't an experience I'd soon forget: melt in your mouth, rich and delicious. As a big quantity is it's own quality type eater, I was pretty skeptical of having to share four deck of card sized serving a between four hungry eaters, but the taste of the wagyu was so rich that it was more than satisfying. This doesn't mean that we weren't hungry enough to swing by a place that rhymes with Baco Hell much later in the evening...but I digress.

Their ribeye. I love it. It's huge, perfectly cooked (medium rare for me) and more than enough to share between two patrons. Possibly three. I have yet to finish an entire cut which makes for a pretty tasty next day meal.

The prime rib was pretty darn good as well. Perfectly cooked, decent portions, and a generous amount of au jus on the side. Maybe not quite as good as The house of prime rib on the other side of downtown, but more than hits the spot.

Possibly the only let down I've experienced here was the filet mignon. Both times, I felt like the meat was a bit mushy and/or dry in some parts. Also didn't really like the sweet jam-like substance they served with it. Definitely a pass.

Before I forget....don't pass up the truffle Mac and cheese. Delicious!

The last time I was here was after my first Yelp Elite event that was held here. A handful of my new found Elite friends and I decided to go back after the event to have dinner.

      That was 11 years ago.

My recent visit was with my family for my husbands birthday.

Our welcome was perfect. We were greeted and immediately seated. I requested a booth - they gave us a booth! The same booth I sat in 11 years ago.

Service was ok. Not rude, but not polished. It felt like she was either new or she felt uncomfortable.

At one point she had the worst thing ever happened - the wine cork broke in the bottle of Cain Five while she was opening it tableside.

Sure, I could have sent it back and asked for a new one as I know all of you would. Cain Five had 3 consecutive years I did not like and this wasn't one of them so I was willing to take a chance on no cork in the wine. I didn't think it was a problem if they could remove any evidence of the mishap.
They did. Not a speck of cork to be found. They also decanted it so I wouldn't obsess over the broken cork. I liked that.

It happens. It's not the end of the world. But like I said, my server was either new or just uncomfortable.

Later she folded napkins of family members who went to the restroom. That would have been a great opportunity to fill wine glasses and make small talk check in conversation. No, she just folded the napkins so we all awkwardly watched.

My favorite servers feel relaxed (confident) so it makes me relax. They can discuss the menu or wine list with ease and support what I am ordering because they've tasted it. I like servers who fill wine glasses and water glasses while checking in on us. Professional yet friendly without being intrusive.

That makes me feel well cared for. Not all servers are this way - but a LOT are. Probably why it's my preferred style.

The beef was great, the service was ok. I love the venue, the curated wine list, and some of the appetizers and sides we ordered were outstanding!

All in all it was a great family night out celebrating one of our own with beautiful wine and lovely beef.

      I am happy for that.

Took my man here for his special day and I'm glad to say that both he and I ate to our hearts content.

We arrived half an hour after they opened and the restaurant was still pretty empty except for a table of what seemed to be older businessmen having a meeting or reunion of some sort. Otherwise, we were the only ones there, which I liked because the ambiance was calm, intimate, and romantic. The interior design of the restaurant is beautiful with dimmed lights and trendy modern decor with lounge chairs/couches that are super cozy, hence the restaurant name.

For our meal, we ordered truffle Mac and cheese, a sashimi plate, 4oz New York Strip steak for me, and a 15oz slow-cooked prime rib for my man. A complimentary birthday dessert was honored by the end of our meal and everything was DEE-LISH.

Special shout out to our server, Ben, who was extremely patient, attentive, and accommodating.

Thank you 5A5 for your service and allowing me to make my man's tummy happy. :)
