I had the best dinner here! Haven't had great food like this in a long time.

I went to this cafe Wednesday night of this week. Was just planning on getting the frozen yogurt, but I was hungry as well and decided to get the bbq chicken wrap with french fries. It was so good! The wrap was fresh and full. It had chicken, bbq sauce, ranch dressing, black beans, avocado and the french fries were perfect; Fried perfectly and the perfect temp! Excellent.
We got the plain frozen yogurt with the raspberry sauce and walnuts. Again, perfect. Our server was very nice, courteous and friendly and made us feel more than welcome.

Best food and service that I've had in a very long time...thank you Bloomie's. Always knew that you were first class:)

Nestled to the side of the second of three floors of Bloomingdales, this little gem of a cafe to serve the needs of their customers is also a good place to stop and have lunch while shopping throughout the outdoor mall. It is nicer than the food court, if you are not in the mood for that, yet less pricey than the restaurants that front the mall on the Santa Monica side.
I have always found the food to be fresh, and the staff will help if you have questions.
They have a new menu with fresh ideas for a light summer lunch, or if in the mood, a steak. Their menu include some creative salads, wraps, sandwiches, and dinner fare if you are really hungry.  They also offer daily specials and soups. You can ask to have whatever you order "your way" and they will help you meet any allergic or food needs as well.
In addition to their famous lowfat/fatfree yogurt, they offer a variety of desserts, and and a cupcake, cookie bar at the counter for diners who want to sit alone, or grab and go. One of my favorite dessert is the light chocolate gelato, filled with zabaglione cream. Light, but chocolaty and heavenly good!

The room is airy and and open, and comfy, and the staff super friendly, and helpful, do not rush you.
Families with children, singles come in with a book to read while they eat, and friends come to have a leisurely lunch while discussing the clothes, which can be seen from your seats. Ended up buying a suit once that I spotted between lunch and dessert!
This is a lovely little spot to eat while shopping that has never failed to please. A friend brings her staff there, to treat them to lunch occasionally. I have never heard a bad word about 59th and Lex. Bon appetit!

In Century City mall recently and I was in no mood for the food court. Thus, I went to 59th and Lex. Once I was there, I remembered how good the food was and kicked myself for not returning more often. The menu offers a nice variety of salads, sandwiches and other options. My companion had the grilled salmon nicoise, which was beautifully prepared and the grilled salmon was delicious and the portion was very generous. I had a delicious chicken salad sandwich. I might even consider just going to Century City just for that great sandwich. I love chicken salad and this was as good as it gets. I think the prices are very fair, considering the high quality of the food.

Fun alternative to the food court in the mall. Bloomies is like a second home to me, so 59th and Lex is sorta like the kitchen. It's a great place to have a nice lunch with a girlfriend, like I did today! Eating among the clothes is always fun. I agree with the person that said it's an older crowd there. The average age was about 67, but that's because my friend and I brought it down.

They have a pretty standard menu. Bigger selection than the cafe at Saks or Neimans. It's a tad overpriced. But the service was good and the FRIES are spectacular!

When I have the urge to eat amongst a room full of elderly caucasian grandmas with powder white hair, still trying to relive their youth, I come here. (photos evidence here)

This is a hidden gem for the Century City bustle. Food is solid - but I give it 3.5 stars because quality goes up and down depending on the chef. Their soups are just alright - they all taste the same.

Salads are large and fill you up - and always have fresh greens and huge chunks of whatever you order (chicken, pear, apple, walnut, steak, you name it!).

Their sandwiches and wraps are good. Tuna sandwich is yummy, but what's with the huge GIANT scoop they plop in the middle of the bread? I always end up having to dismantle it and spread the tuna lovin' around.

The BEST part about this place: their FORTY CARROTS FROZEN YOGURT. Seriously, it's my latest, bestest discovery. This yogurt beats pinkberry, red mango, and yogurtland. Toppings aren't as varied, but the creaminess and tanginess is perfection.

    A cafe in Bloomindale's?

My buddy took me here since he had to shop for his wife.  While he was getting things gift wrapped, he said we could hit the cafe.

I did not expect this.  Wonderful food, great service.  The staff is cheerful and friendly (and to be honest, pretty sexy).

I never would have thought that I would travel to a department store for lunch or dinner but yes, now I'll be stopping in Bloomingdale's on occasion just to eat.

Our group had been to the Century City food court a little too often during hubby's conference, so we were running out of options.  He was pressed for time and had an hour before the next session.  I figured that Houston's and Gulfstream would be too slow.  Breadbar would be too blah.  I would have never found 59th & Lex if it weren't for yelp.

He had the steak salad with fried purple Peruvian potatoes, cranberries, and pine nuts (delicious!).  I asked the waiter for recommendations off the pasta menu.  He steered me towards the shrimp fusilli.  It was really attractive, with yellow peppers and perfectly grilled shrimp.  V had a chicken salad (I think), one of the menu's most popular salad according to the waiter.  R had the togarashi tuna salad, which ended up being entirely too spicy.  The togarashi gave it a slow burn.  Entirely deceptive at first but then the heat kicked in with full force.  You have been warned.  This could have been an outstanding dish if it weren't so incendiary.  She couldn't enjoy her tuna and the waiter didn't offer to substitute anything.  Entrees are pricey ($12+),  about what you'd expect from Century City.

Total impromtu lunch with my buddy.  She suggested the Bloomingdale's cafe as her coworker said it was good.  I have to say, my light and delicious lunch was perfect for a hot summer day.  The cafe is pretty small but we were lucky to score a table right away.

I can't remember what my dish was called but it was a delicious piece of poached salmon served cool and with a dijon sauce on top.  Paired with baby greens, tomatoes and avocado.  Lovely light lunch.  (Say that three times fast!)  Service was very pleasant.

I guess it helps that I was able to shop as well and get a birthday gift, thereby killing two birds with one stone.   I love zen mall outings like that!

I had no idea Bloomingdale's had a restaurant... Shows how much I know.

This place is up scale, but still its in a store, so sort of weird.  The food was good, but nothing really stood out.  I did like that when some of our party didn't order dessert (which was very good) the waiter gave them something anyway so they didn't feel left out.  And when my friend forgot her to-go box, he ran after her.  That was classy.

But otherwise, I feel its pricey for the sake of it, without actually bringing anything new to the table.  This could be a much lower scale diner with much lower prices.  So it deserves 3.5 stars, and since its already at 4, I thought a rating of three would push it towards where it needed to be...

I happen to love this place for 2 reasons:

    1) The food's always decent
    2) I'm in bloomingdales

When you're lazy like me and don't feel like trekking across the mall to the always-crowded food court, this place is a great alternative.  I've been coming here for years and while the food is not mind-blowing, its good.  I like the Turkey Burger, their chicken/goat cheese/mango salads, sandwiches, the fries....and the service has always been good.  I agree with Brandon D. who says it's one of the most underrated lunch options at CC mall.

As for ambience...eh...just feels like you're in the middle of a department store...which you are.  But who needs ambience at 1PM in the afternoon.

I had a business meeting here yesterday, it's a cute upscale cafe across from the women's shoes section at Bloomy's. I didn't have anything to eat, just a Diet Coke (hello, fashion industry!), but the waiters were very attentive and friendly, making sure we were happy.  It seems to be the place for the older ladies who lunch, very unintimidating though and the chairs are comfortable after a day of shopping I bet.  The items on the menu were not too pricy, a lot of $9 burger and sandwich options.

Consistently excellent food, especially the salads.  Okay, the demographic is what, 90? Average age? Who cares? If you work in or near Century City and don't want to pay an arm and a leg for food court food, go here.  Sure, it's still an arm and a leg but at least you get amazing food for the price.  The service is always incredible as well.  I've had the steak and asparagus salad and the poached salmon salad.  Both were terrific.  Highly recommend!

This is the best place to have lunch in the mall.  A coworker recommended me this place, and I love it. I like it because the food is homemade, has that taste. They have specials everyday but I really like the: Pot Roast, Fish and Chips, Lasagne, and the soups. It is not an expensive place, they don't ripe you off like others restaurant in the mall. Service really friendly.

I love to shop, and I love to eat.  What better way to make my lunchbreak more efficient than to eat at the cafe inside of bloomies?  My friends are big fans of the Century City foodcourt, but I like to add more variety so once in a blue moon we eat here.  I've had some very mixed experiences here, but overall it hasn't stopped me from lunching here.  I've ordered the turkey burger which was given to me undercooked.  The waiter took the meat back and had the cook regrill it, and he also took it off my bill without my even asking!  Last time I order an ahi tuna salad, but it was SO bland.  After asking the waiter to give me a side of dressing, it was all fixed and ready to eat.  Yes it may take 2 tries to get the order right, but the fact that service is will oblige AND that Century City-ers really don't have much to choose from makes me still okay with coming back here for lunch.

Tired of shopping in Century City? Stop by for a bite to eat and enjoy the delicious food.  Or be like me and go there JUST for the food. Everything I've tried on the menu thus far has never disappointed.  Just be forewarned: make sure to save room for dessert!  SCREW all the hype about Pinkberrys, Yogurt lands, blah blah blah - nothing will EVER compare to the delicious yogurt recipe here.  Bloomie's/40 Carrots has had this recipe since like FOREVER.  The consistency and natural yogurt flavor is much much better.  In NY you can get them in various flavors at 40 Carrots, but why go for anything but the plain?  THis one only offers plain anyways - but I highly recommend trying it w/ the Raspberry Coulis or no sauce - its good all by its lonesome. *sigh  now i gotta make a trek out there  for some.... now.. like RIGHT NOW.  When I was working in the area, I would go over during my lunch break just to get me some of this yummy goodness.
