Review from AJ M.
Manhattan, NY
I had bought a large canvas painting that needed to be stretched and framed. After checking out custom framing options around the city, I was almost regretting the purchase due to the CRAZY prices. Luckily, via Yelp, I came across 567 Framing.
They were not only helpful and enthusiastic in choosing framing options, but flexible and reasonable around pricing the project. It took a couple weeks, which was also faster than some of the other places I called and most importantly came out great!
This was the first time I had something custom framed, so while 567's prices were competitive, make sure whatever you're framing is going to be worth it as it can become quite pricey!
All around, very happy... Will certainly return to 567 in the future! -

Am I on another planet? This place sucks.
First off inside the store is not clean enough to lay out a piece of work. Secondly, the mat samples they were showing me looked like a truck ran over them. How can I tell what it is going to look like with it being so dirty? Thirdly, when I was shown a sample of how the frame would look put together (it was a framed poster hanging in their store) the seams of the frames didn't look glued together completely which made me nervous since I was about to drop $600. They assured me they would be glued together better than the sample. Oh really? I asked about their guarantee and they said once I left the store with it that was it. So if the seams got loose after a day I am screwed? ha!
The girls didn't seem friendly enough either. I found them to be very uninterested in making the customer happy.
Why go to this place? Go to L&O Framing in Tribeca instead. Same price, better service, better quality. -

I went in right before the holidays to have something custom framed as a gift. They were super busy but did a great job. I had to pay an extra $20 for a rush job, but they had it done a few days earlier than I asked.
My photo was 6x18" and came out to about $90 after tax etc etc. -
Review from Matt A.

After a rather disappointing experience at another framing shop earlier this year, my attitude towards getting another art piece framed changed for the worse.
However, after picking up two frames recently here, my faith in picture framers has been restored. They beautifully mounted my two window boxes creating a striking visual effect for a few pieces I picked up on a trip to Buenos Aires. This wasn't the easiest of projects, but for the price I paid, I felt I got my money's worth. I would definitely recommend them and they have earned my repeat business.
Note: They now have a Brooklyn location. I made the mistake of dropping off and picking up the pieces at the 14th street location, when I could've requested pick up in Brooklyn. It would've saved me a lot of time. Lesson learned. -

Decided to take the virgin voyage with the Yelp Deal by purchasing $75 worth of framing for $35.
It was timely too, because my university and MBA degrees had collected enough dust to make the light fixtures at McSorley's Old Ale House envious.
So how was 567 Framing? Look, I'm the last guy in the world you'd want handling your framing decisions. Fortunately, the woman I worked with explained the differences between matting and double matting...the glass options...and all the other basics everyone else in this world already knows about framing.
Bottom line, I felt like I was given the time to understand my options and felt comfortable that I'd gotten a decent deal. They called me about two weeks later and both frames turned out great.
My two degrees with double matting ended up costing me about $400 (or $360 after applying the Yelp deal).
Hopefully it won't be another 10 years until I finally hang these things. Is there a Yelp deal out there for that? -
Review from Peter K.
Do not get me wrong I am satisfied with my final product and I might be nit picking, but I think this review might be helpful for people who are in my same boat.
I was very excited to come here after the great reviews, and the $40 off yelp coupon put me into 6th gear to get a print I had made for me finally framed of a very important hotel project I worked on.
They were very knowledgeable, had great ideas and pretty much took my thoughts and laid them out on the table in front of me. I felt however the molding and the canvas stretching could have been a lot better. The canvas print is just ever so slightly skewed from the panel and the borders are just ever so slightly distracting now. The corners of the frame are also a bit rough around the edges and there is some glue residue around the sides. They didn't even give me any mounting hardware.
They did an ok job. For the price I am pretty content. I will be happy to return to mount my own prints or affordable art. I wouldn't bring anything extremely valuable because for the average craftsmanship it might detract from the artwork. I most likely will not have any of my gallery prints done here either.
Not bad, but could be better. -

They were very professional, fast, and great.
I worked with Tina on an unusual request to put 6 or 7 different sized images and cards on a single matte with multiple cut-outs. It was a tough assignment and they nailed it.
I also thought their pricing was relatively reasonable, based on a few other places I priced out. -
Review from Jon C.
Good framing is hard to find at a reasonable price, and 567 may be the best place I've ever used. I originally found 567 through a Yelp review, and decided to give them a shot. Since then, I've been back and have been extremely pleased every time. I have no plans of trying (or switching) frame shops any time soon.
The "showroom" is quite small, but what 567 lacks in size is made up for in selection. Countless options are available, and the price always seems reasonable (not to mentioned there is a Yelp discount you can use). Both Wendee and Eileen (apologies for name misspellings) are both extremely helpful.
I try not to give out 5 star reviews like they are going out of style, but 567 is deserving. -
Review from Craig S.
New York, NY
Found em on Yelp so I dropped in to see if they could do a rush job for me. Was not impressed with the interior of the store, but stayed because of the quality reviews by other yelpers.
Was helped by Wendee....she was really helpful and professional. I told her I was in a mad rush to get three canvass framed 4 four days! She calmly called the owner and they agreed to do the work for a rush fee. I quickly agreed. The quote was more than I wanted to pay (but it always is....quality custom framing is never cheap). I pushed back on the price and she agreed to drop the rush fee. Overall I was happy with the price.
The work was perfect and delivered on time as promised. Wow! What a great experience. Thank you Wendee and thank you 567. You saved the day.
Go see them if you need some framing work done....a class act!! -

I've used a few framing businesses in the city and this place is by far the best value for your money. They are considerably cheaper than other options and they do an excellent job. The service is friendly and helpful, and you never feel like they are steering you towards different options based on price. What more need be said?

Found them on Yelp, and have been very happy with their work! I have now been there three times with 7 paintings/prints framed and have been very happy with the final results for each.
They have a wide variety of frame styles and colors. You also have options with 3 different qualities of glass to fit your budget.
I'm not the most artistic person, so the staff has been very helpful in helping me pick out my matting and frames. Tina has been very, very helpful for me as she has great taste and is very nice.
Prices are reasonable and turn around time was very quick.
Highly highly recommend. -

I shopped around lower manhattan and was thrilled that I ended up here. They were better by 30-40% in price vs other stores and then gave me another 10% off without my asking. The work was better quality than I expected, was delivered sooner than promised and without hassle or worried. 567 framing will get all my business going forward.

Review from Jane K.
It pains me to shell out $85 to frame a $25 print. But when the frame makes the antique print look like a $200 piece of art...then really, I made money.
Walking in off the street, I had neither an appointment nor a clue what I was doing. After a few long pauses and awkward silences, the frame lady finally stepped in and made some excellent suggestions. In less than 10 minutes I had ordered and paid for a gorgeous custom-made frame that would be ready in 7-10 days. I also ran into another Yelper who had found the store via their Yelp reviews...small world!
The only weird thing was that they never called to let me know that my frame was ready. After ten days had passed I figured I'd check on it and they just answered that yes, it was there waiting for me. Oh well, not a big deal. Overall, working with 567 Framing was a super smooth process that delivered high quality results...another happy customer served! -
Review from Megan M.
Hoboken, NJ
I was in a pretty terrible mood when I walked in the door. I had just walked to their old location, 4 AVENUES AWAY, on one of the coldest and windiest days...I was not happy. Not like it's the owner's fault. Yelp is actually to blame - no update on change of address!
But I was very warmly welcomed when I came in the door. A very eager-to-help-me man asked how I was and said how it was so good to see me again, even though this was my first visit. (I've been told I have look-a-likes running around Manhattan. Damn bitches stealing my style...)
I came in to frame a diploma and already had other frame stores' prices in mind just in case this turned out to be too much for my budget. Having called Spectrum Framing earlier, they said they were not able to give me a quote over the phone, but that they would be happy to in person.
He went right to work and starting pulling down frames from the wall. Although he wasn't very helpful artistically (he told me everything looked great!) he was more than willing to pull more frames down when I wasn't satisfied with the first few. A mat to match the color I had brought in was also easy to find in his color book.
After getting everything together, he said the total was $76 without tax. That includes:
- frame and glass for a 13" by 11" Diploma
- 1.5" mat all around (I think the price increases per 1/4 inch you have)
After getting quotes from the other frame stores I was expecting to pay AT THE VERY LEAST over $100. I was very happy to hear that he would be charging me $25 less than one competitor and $100 less than another!! Huge difference in price.
***[10 days later...]***
I GOT MY FRAME BACK! And they did a fantastic job! I'm very happy with how the diploma came out. Exactly what I asked for and without any fingerprints or smudges inside or outside of the glass. And the guy (the same guy from when I first dropped it off) working there was so friendly and helpful, and again very glad to see me. I felt so welcome there...and it's only a frame shop!
I would HIGHLY, HIGHLY, HIGHLY!!! RECOMMEND coming here. I will definitely be back the next time I need something framed! -

Wow! It's been a few weeks since I had three of my limited-edition prints framed by 567 Framing and I'm still in awe of what a great job they did.
Before this framing job, I was looking for a quality framing shop for quite some time. Anytime I passed a frame shop, I would walk in to check out their selection and get general pricing quotes. Prompted by the great reviews on Yelp I decided to go to 567 Framing and do the same, and was pleased with their fair, competitive pricing and customer service.
Fast forward a few months later and I finally find a chance to bring in my prints to be framed. I spent about an hour selecting frames for this project and was so happy with the recommendations I was given and patience I was shown (hey, it's a big decision!). I mentioned the special on Yelp and was given a 10% discount on the total. When I received my frames 2 weeks later, I couldn't have been more excited! The frame and mat choice seem to be an extension of the artwork. Beautiful!!! -

Let me tell you, I love these guys. From the moment I walked in, in a wind-blown frenzy on a Monday with only three days to have a piece framed for a show, dealing with the fine folks at Spectrum Framing was an absolute pleasure.
I was helped predominantly by C, a super-friendly, super-helpful young guy who assisted me in my frame and matting choices (both dead on) and even made a special call to squeeze in my frame order with their supplier (they had already made their order for the day and wouldn't be ordering again until Thursday). I'm telling you, the quality of the customer service here is impeccable.
I picked up my framed piece on Wednesday and it looked sensational! I was thrilled. The pricing was excellent, too; more than reasonable, especially considering they rushed it for me. I'm only sorry I didn't have more pieces to frame!
I seriously don't have a bad thing to say about this place. I recommend it whole-heartedly, and I will definitely be back! -

Hey Yelp, what the F-bomb?! I wrote a review on this place and it disappeared. But as I keep returning here, I'm back once again to give props where props are due.
This place is very good at what they do and the finished results are always top notch. I first came in to have a pretty basic frame job done for some Broadway posters for the office. Their rates are competitive and if you mention Yelp, they will give you a 10-15% discount! This is huge in the pricey game that is art framing. Enough to make you bite the bullet and go for the double matte or nicer glass or wooden frame option.
A gal named Nicole that works at the 14th st location is very helpful and will offer her suggestions for matting, or frame styles. I've gone in there twice now with an idea of what I wanted and left with something completely different but much classier. They usually take about a week per a job, but this is the sort of craft you want people taking their time with. They will also call you and let you know when it will be ready so you can coordinate your schedule to pick it up. They are totally accommodating. -

I needed a poster signed by a bunch of celebrities framed for a charity event on Monday and it was late Friday afternoon. Not only did Jack promise to have it done for my event, but gave me a break on the price since it was for a worthy cause. I had been to numerous other frame shops and no one else was willing to go there, so THANK YOU JACK!
"We have to support our community." Jack said to me.
Amen brother! From now on, I will always go back to Jack to have things framed and will recommend him to everyone I know. Karma my friends, is a good thing if you do good things. -

So far I've gone to Spectrum framing twice and both times I've been pleased with the work they produced. I went in Wednesday with two 24x36" prints and had it rush serviced ($15 per print). They needed an extra hour past the time they said they would have it but it was no real issue.
For those looking for prices. Both of my prints were around $145 per print (they were fairly large). Basic, black wooden frame and matted. -

I decided to go to 567 Based on the reviews I read here and was VERY disappointed. I went there with a large (~4 ft wide x 2 ft high) original art work and I'm not sure they're accustomed to doing semi-valuable pieces or large pieces.
The person I met with was very nice and helpful but he never told me that due to the size they'd have be use several pieces of matting and that the seams would be visible. He told me it would be 10-14 days before the piece was ready and despite my calls the piece wasn't ready for 20 days. When I came to pick the piece up I saw the seams which were not only unexpected seams but very poorly put together (they weren't even and you could see the white filling of the black matting). I told them the work was unacceptable (especially given how much it cost, nearly $1k) and it took them over a week to fix.
Maybe I should have known places like this aren't good for the type of job I needed, but I'll never go back to have anything of any significant value or size framed.Comment from Jack H. of 567 Framing 9/18/2011

Four stars for even accepting to help me five days before Christmas!
Frantically calling framing places hoping that the 16'' print that I got for my father's Christmas present could be custom framed before I flew home for the 'Burgh.
Jack said, "Yes. Come in today and it will be ready in three days." Thank you God. Thank you, Jack.
Scrambled down to grab the print from home, then back up to the shop. Cozy little store and close to the subway. I got help from my roommate picking out the frame and the matting. Jack was so helpful. He showed the different shades of white that we could use for the matting and we decided with a museum quality eggshell white (the print was black and white and we didn't want to wash it out). Then, we discussed glass. The museum glass is awesome. If I were taking it home - I would have done that, hands down. But, since I had to ship it, we chose a nice plexiglass.
The day came to pick it up. I called and they said it was ready... went during lunch to the store to pick it up and ship it... IT WAS NOT PLEXIGLASS! Oh no! They apologized and said they would replace it immediately. I came back after work and it was perfect. Literally, perfect.
Why minus the star? Because when I finally got to the Fedex store to mail it, they were out of art sized boxes. We did get it shipped, but it cost extra and was a huge hassle. If it had been done correctly the first time, it would have saved me the hassle.
Oh well, next time I need something framed I am coming back to Jack! Oh yes, and my dad LOVED the picture (an original print of Babe Ruth smoking a cigar - yes I fucking rock). -

This was my first time working with a professional frame shop, so I went to 567 Framing based on all the positive reviews. Good decision. The staff was friendly and helpful, and my frames look great! I had some wedding photos and memorabilia framed in white shadowboxes with glass. I have no complaints about my experience, and will definitely return for any future framing needs.

I have been coming to Spectrum Framing for over a year now and have gotten several photographs and works of art framed. The staff is always friendly and willing to help you out to the best of their ability. I just got a HUGE framing job done (39 x 39) and the owner even carried it out for me to the corner of 7th as a hailed down a cab!
Before moving to the city I worked at a frame shop and believe me, their prices are GREAT! By far the best in the city that I have come across. I haven't had a bad experience yet and am going to continue to get all my framing jobs done at Spectrum Framing. -

Quick and effective service. I knew nothing about framing when I walked in the door. The girl walked me through what I needed for my 2 large paintings. Following her advice, I decided to get them stretched out rather than framed. My decision was very cost-effective.Very happy with the results

Nicole has got a great idea in terms of helping select the frame you want. I had two piece of art, and I think she steered me gently but firmly in a better direction.
The guy in the back who wrapped my framed art for me, walked with them to the door, and held it open before handing me the art. How often does that happen in NYC?
You've gotta go to them for any type of framing. -

Tina helped me select matting and a frame for a Japanese woodblock print, and it turned out absolutely stunning! She has a very good eye and her recommendations were spot on. The price, based on my experience, was also very competitive, and they'll give you a discount for mentioning Yelp. The job was also completed within the quoted time-frame - which is always plus.

I went there based on the positive reviews on Yelp. It was a great experience. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and make sure the customer gets what they need without up selling them on unnecessary bells and whistles. I also found out that all of the staff are actually trained accomplished artists so they appreciate the importance of framing and how to best make the artwork shine. The shop actually displays artwork from the staff; it immediately caught my eye and I actually ended up purchasing a piece. It was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I had a particularly good experience here the other day when I was in a pinch and needed a poster framed in a matter of hours. I figured any framing store could deliver something like this, but apparently this was the only one in the 5 others I called that didn't need the minimum of one week. I called in, gave the guy the dimensions on the poster and he said he could have it ready by that evening. Little did I know that "that evening" actually meant a half hour. WOW! I got the five-star treatment. Sopping wet from the rain when I came in, he gave me a towel to dry myself off. I saw the meticulous care he took in putting the poster in the frame, white gloves and all. And the price was so reasonable. Make sure you mention Yelp when you go in! They love it and will give you a 10% discount! Booyah!

This place rocks!! Hands down, its a first rate operation. Ask for Nicole- she'll set you straight (or your prints), at a fair price, and with impreccable service. As a photographer, I take great pride in the appearance of my prints. She appreciated this, and offered helpful suggestions on how to make them look their best. When I offered another idea, she was flexible, and understood my vision, and went with it, although it was "unconventional." The prints look AMAZING!! She delivered the goods EARLY (unheard of)! and wrapped them so carefully in bubblewrap because it was supposed to rain The customer service is top notch, and with their convenient location (jumped off the M14D or E or F train), I will ALWAYS do business with them!!!

Very polite, great price, and good work for the price. I would give 567 Framing 5 stars, but they did make a mistake on my order so I am only giving them 4. As a result of the error, my frames were not completed in time for a party I was hosting. But ultimately they did complete the job to my satisfaction.

After 12 long years, I finally framed my medical school diploma. I found this place on Yelp, and it lives up to its reputation.
Nicole, was the lady who helped me select the right frames and matting. She spent an hour helping me sort through different frames and figuring out what colors would go with my new office. She is fabulous!
The prices are reasonable for what you get. I picked up my framed pieces today and was absolutely in love with the finished product. I have two new art pieces that I'm getting framed by them just because I was so happy with their work.
I highly recommend Nicole, although I haven't directly worked with anyone else in the place, I'm sure they are great. -

Unbelievable. After reading the reviews on Yelp i went here very ready and willing to spend money and get a few pieces framed. From the get go the woman helping me was condescending and rude - she also answered the phone a few times while helping me and was likewise rude to callers. I've gotten thing framed before, and am familiar with the basics, but she really made me feel stupid whenever I asked any sort of question. Despite all this, I decided to keep going and picked out some frames. It was only when I got the outrageously over-priced estimate that I picked up everything and happily left. I'm not sure if I just went on a bad day and was helped by the wrong person, or if other people are used to being treated this way but, from my experience, this is a VERY poorly run business.

We visited three frame shops, without getting what we wanted or needed, and then went to visit Jack (the owner) at 567. He was the most reasonable on price, no BS, and a real problem solver. On price and integrity alone, I'll go back to him. In specific, Jack helped us frame two pieces for the price of one at other shops we talked to, and the work he did was great, and came in at the price he promised. Jack wasn't in on the Sunday afternoon we picked our framed pieces up, (bonus that they are open Sunday) he called us the next day to see how we liked them. I will definitely go back there for more framing. Easy to deal with, reasonable price, and good framing. I'm a happy customer.

Wow, I can't enough good things about this place. I recently got a picture framed w/ a ticket stub, and it turned out UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING!!
I walked into this place and they helped me pick out the mat and the frame and did an amazing job. One of the best parts is that they don't just automatically say everything looked "wonderful" and actually offer constructive advice on how to make the picture look it's best (whether it was a different style frame or a slightly different color mat). I went to a couple other places to shop around, but all of them just seemed to say that literally every combination I tried looked great....I may be creatively challenged but even I know that's not true. Most importantly, they will spend as much time as you need to make sure it's perfect, rather than just try to push a sale.
The price was great, the service was great, the advice/suggestions given were absolutely fantastic.... If you need help on making a picture look spectacular or just want a high-quality, well-priced frame shop, this is definitely the place for you!!! -

I had a picture framed here recently. When I went in the I had to ask the woman who was helping me 3 different times before she would show me any different color options for mattes, she kept trying to make me choose cream. She also only let me look at two different frames, I felt like she was rushing me out. When I got my picture back it looked ok at first but then I realized there were 4 tears in the picture and it was crinkled along the board it was posted on. It was an original piece and their are no copies - it is totally ruined and they still charged me full price with no explanation or apology!
