Loved this place!
12$ for a plate full of sushi-amazingness (8 pieces of California roll, 8 pieces of salmon and avocado sushi and 8 pieces of tuna and avocado sushi plus a bowl of miso soup)!!
Staff is also very nice.
Would go back any time!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brenda L.New York, NY0734Apr 8, 2024
Yay! So glad this place remains. I came here years ago and never left disappointed. This is a tiny place. Maybe seating for 7-8 people. I ordered the sashimi bento box and it was awesome! The fish was done perfectly. I ate way too much. There was soup, dumplings, regular salad, sushi, seaweed salad. If you pay cash, you get a discount on your bill. The place is very clean. I highly recommend this place. Take the 7 train to 52nd St. Once you come off the station, 52nd Sushi is about a block away.

Nice hole in the wall place close to one of the Blink gyms I went to today. It's relatively small but the food is fresh and the aesthetic of the place has the feel of that of a Japanese restaurant tucked into a commercial street in Shinjuku. I had a simple lunch special, the sushi I got was pretty filling. I didn't think 3 rolls would be enough but it hit the spot along with the miso soup. Next time I come around and I have a bit more money to blow, I'll try one of their bento boxes but as far as the sushi goes, it's legit.

I've walked past this unassuming place for years. We had other sushi restaurants to order from. Now our favorite has been closed for half a year or so, and finally I had the presence of mind to remember this place, and after looking over the reviews here I decided we had to order. We ordered the Maki B and Maki 3 combos as well as the 52nd Roll, as well as an order of gyoza. This didn't seem like a lot, but boy did it fill us up, and we couldn't have been happier. A few weeks later we ordered those combos again, but with the dragon roll and were no less pleased so this is now our go-to sushi takeout. The Korean entrees pictured at the restaurant look no less intriguing, and I expect we will be trying those soon.

I can't believe this delicious and fresh sashimi is woodside. The owner is friendly, food is fresh, and the price is understandable! I'll come again!

Great sushi platter for the right price! I was able to feed seven people with the large sushi and roll platter. You can also customize the platter to include certain fish. The platter also comes with miso soup!

The sushi was delicious, I can't complain. We came here 40 minutes before closing and the owner of the restaurant or whoever was working there yesterday night was really friendly and even provided us a table with a menu. I got my usual you avocado rolls and Gyoza's while my boyfriend got I think a rainbow roll. I'll update this soon as I ask him!

They have new owners :( so sad but I'm sure the good quality hasn't been affected. Still yummy. Just different portion sizes and ambiance. The prices haven't changed, so hopefully that remains that way. They put brighter lights and have different bowls (small changes like that). I don't expect the same hospitality and free sliced up oranges as a treat but this place is a staple for Woodside. I wish the owners well on their retirement and thank them for their services.

I used to come to this location years ago--really great quality sushi and affordable. Still affordable. Staff is sweet and attentive.
Unfortunately the quality isn't the same anymore. The tuna and salmon were not fresh. Heavily tasted like sea water. I also found a piece of hair on my roll :(Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 2, 2021Updated review
We ordered Japanese from 52nd street Sushi XL size- Sashimi-Sushi-Roll Combo. It's a total steal at. $110. It is good for four people. Comes with a quart of miso soup. You have to order rice if you want but there's a lot of sushi on the platter. If you haven't tried them order from them sushi & sashimi are fresh.

I walked in this tiny place and I was pleasantly surprised. Service was exceptional!!! I ordered Sushi Deluxe & 52nd special roll it came with miso soup. You can dine in or take out however they don't deliver you have to pick up. It was busy it is clear that it's popular spot in the neighborhood. I'm a fan! I'll return for dinner or order for them.
