I just wanna say I love this gym! I started a challenge four weeks ago and this is my fifth week! I hoping to WIn win win! I think all of the instructors are very different and each and every one of them make you hurt in a new spot. So its never the same ol work out, they keep it fun and energizing! If you go try try agian because it only gets easier!
My only complaint is people don't smile enough....So smile!!! -

I did the Challenge in 2011. The classes were too crowded, did not start on time, and were taught by instructors who for the most part, were less than inspirational.
One instructor, Jaime, had a backside so big it hung over the body pump bench. It was disgusting.
I would not suggest a membership at 5280. The owner has extreme financial problems and can not even pay her Tae Bo instructors or their insurance. She is a
greedy, horrible person and cares more about driving around in her hummer, than
her instructors or their families.
Walk with the wise. Join another gym. -

Wow, what an awesome place to get fit! You really have to experience 5280 to appreciate it; my words here will just not do it justice. Luckily, they make it really easy for newbies to try it out with free trial classes and 8-week tae bo challenge specials they offer several times each year. Check their website for details about the latest challenge.
I did the Mom & Dad Challenge in the fall of 2008. I lost 30 INCHES during the 8-week challenge (over 9 different body measurements.) Now, I am not an athletic person by any stretch of the imagination, nor am I particularly coordinated, but the instructors are great and soon I was keeping up with the tae bo choreography with little difficulty.
When the challenge ended, it was a real let-down to think I'd have to go back to slogging along on the treadmill at an ordinary gym. I didn't think I could justify the expense of a full membership at 5280 (and make no mistake, it is indeed pricey.) But, they offered a discount to people who had just finished the challenge and a 2-month bonus to those who bought a year in advance, so I decided to go for it.
I'm so glad I did. I would never push myself as hard and as long without these instructors there to guide me. The best of the instructors (Sonja, Lindsey, Aimee) can lead the class in choreography that's just right- difficult enough that you have to think to keep up and you end up forgetting that your muscles are burning with the effort.
One of the best things about 5280 is that their class schedule is absolutely PACKED. They have a class almost every hour starting at 5 AM, with the last class of the day starting at 7 PM. They offer childcare at most of the classes from 8:15 AM and on. They also offer personal training and VERT sessions, but another reviewer will have to inform you about those, since I haven't experienced them for myself. -

My room mate is doing the challenge with a friend and loves it. We did it a few years back and got in great shape. I would be going if not for an injury. The Tae Bo is a great workout for all fitness levels and I can't wait to try it again!
