Stumbled upon this little gem after ice skating in the park.
The ambiance was amazing. The interior is so homey.
The staff was exceptional with us in trying to accommodate my husband and I with our four year old. The server was very attentive.
I loved our fish and chips and tartar. I thought the guacamole was out of this world- the best I have ever had.
We will definitely be back. -
Review from Mandy S.
I had higher hopes for brunch here after reading the glowing reviews for the breakfast items. We had a nice table right by the window and what people were eating looked promising.
However, flavor of my veggie scramble was bland/luke warm and the cheese wasn't even melted. They charge extra to sub potatoes for a small bowl of fruit.
What was even more of a joke was the french toast that was highly recommended by some reviewers. The portion size was the smallest french toast I have EVER seen. (see photo) You literally can't see the french toast hiding under the two strips of bacon.
I would also recommended serving some sort of toast option with the brunch for what we're paying.
Service was rushed, they were understaffed with servers but seemed to focus on getting drinks for the customers at the bar.
I'm pretty sure their specialty here is their burger and happy hour but I wouldn't expect much of a difference quality wise. -
Review from Regina C.
Went here for lunch today. Service was good, not speedy, but good. A PB&J for my little one, my daughter and I both had the fish n chips and my husband had the albacore sandwich.
Fries were under cooked, not crispy AT ALL, no salt and therefore NO flavor. The albacore sandwich was bland and again no flavor. The fish n chips was very mediocre. Again, no flavor. Get the picture? A little Salt goes a long way.
I have been here a couple times for happy hour and it was great. -

Enjoyed the environment in there... Great drinks. When I am in Bellevue I would go out of my way to go here--seams a lot more neighborhoody than the chain places that dominate Bellevue.

Recommend Sunday Brunch and their burger. Both comparably pricey but worth the extra money.
They recently expanded and are now twice the size, but still kept that cozy feel. -

When you can't stand another night at Joey's or Earl's, 520 to the rescue. Yelpers have it right on this one- dinner is good, but Happy Hour is better.
Bellevue needs this little main street gem.
7 months out of the year, patio is not an option (Seattle rain...), so the good news is that the interior is warm and cozy with all the right booths and spaces.
Just loud enough to be lively, but not so crazy that you can't just chill after a 10hr. work day.
Parking is slightly annoying but running into friends or bumping into the owner, Joseph Brazen makes up for it. =) -

Lunch Dec 10. Daughter had soup & salad, I had cobb salad. Ambience is very nice, definitely a bar with seating for meals on both sides of the bar: we were told they had just opened after expansion of the dining areas. Daughter noted a odor of furniture finish, not pleasant-I didn't notice.
Service was fine, coffee not very good, Worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood. -

Happy hour made us happy! Service was excellent thanks to Seth.
House wine was good, but the fish tacos and coconut crusted shrimp were over the top. They are not on the happy hour menu but worth ordering.
We sat on the street (yes, sunshine, no rain) patio, people watching while enjoying the freshly prepared food.
It was a great experience from the time we walked in the door. Give them a try, for lunch, dinner or happy hour. -

Not a bad place to relax if you don't mind being totally packed into small spaces. I have been here twice - great happy hour plenty of parking at the park about a block away-

Fun atmosphere. Great outdoor space during the summer months.
My girlfriend and I ordered the honey chicken sandwich and the lamb burger. The chicken was moist but overall the sandwich was just ok. Nothing to be excited about. My girlfriend at the lamb burger. Her initial reaction was "blah".... Not sure if it was the lamb meat or how it was prepared.
All in all, I would come back for happy hour and drinks. Not sure about dinner though. -

Had dinner here on the patio on a summer. Lambburger was just ok. Others had salads and were satisfied.
Service was reasonably fast, but they did get confused on the reservations and had as seated separately (4 of us) in 2 groups of 2 each; after 30 minutes we found each other without the help of the servers.1 Previous Review: Show all »

The food was great, especially the coconut prawns with the mango-plum dipping sauce, but I thought $13 for 6 prawns was a bit steep. Also, the music was way, way too loud--especially for it being 5:00. Call me old, but I am not a fan of booming loud music during dinner--late-night drinks are understandable, but mid-day?

520 is my new favorite local bar. Super cute, very cozy (yes it can get crowded), but the service is always great, the food delicious, and the drinks well-made.
The bloody marys here are the best I have ever had. Not sure what their secret is, but whatever it may be, they have it right! Happy hour is also great - maybe a little pricier than one may want, but the food is awesome.
I also noticed they are expanding, so for anyone complaining about the size of the place, it looks like it may be fixed soon! The outdoor patio is also heated during cold nights. -

This is a great spot on old main!
Their new space really works....same awesome energy.
Food is well done ....staff is friendly and fun!
The owners are there and make sure you are taken care of...
Thanks we will be back! -

We were here for a Girls Night Out and it was a perfect place. We sat outside (October) they provided heat laps and blankets. When we told the owner it was my birthday, she had the waitress bring us a bottle of wine! Now that was a nice touch!

Its very old school inside. Dark, lots of wood and brass rails. Some stools to sit at some counters and several small tables for two. Once I got to look around, the place is really, really small. It felt sort of congested.
I think the real draw is the patio outside. I bet that is fun in the summer. I wonder how noisy it gets from normal street noise.
My friends like this place. Since I was only here during HH for one glass, my review isn't worth much. I will have to try again when the weather is nicer. -

I went here for a bridal shower brunch, and it was perfect. The staff went out of their way to make it special. They even gave us special menus with a personalized insert for the bride-to-be. We sat under the shade of umbrellas on the back porch and felt like we had our own private area. The food and drinks were delicious. No complaints.

Some places you judge by the cocktails, by the wine list, by the menu.... And sometimes you just have to judge how great a place is by how easy it is to meet with good company in an inviting setting, where the service is awesome and you can literally sit in the same spot and drink wine or brew till the place closes down. 520 is one of those places for me. It's one of those classic Eastside spots where people who want to get out of the Joey's, Pearl, and Earl's scenes go to meet with their peeps and actually have conversations.
Food isn't 5 stars but it's adequate. Their menu spans a few different cuisines (Northwest, Asian, Greek, Mexican), probably to appeal to a diverse crowd. I'm not loving the fact that I can order potstickers with my nachos (BTW the Nachos are the best things there, followed by the salads), but to me it's more the people and vibe. I've had too many awesome times here with my friends to count... and that's the clincher. -
Review from Annie F.
Ate here for lunch and we will never be back again. It took 3 different girls to seat us inside and another girl to give us menus. We were the 2nd couple to sit inside and ordered a sandwich and a burger. We watched as plate after plate came out of the kitchen and go to the patio. 30 min later we saw the couple before us get their food and then 2 other parties get their food when we sat and ordered before them. Are you f**king kidding me?!? We told the waitress we had been waiting a really long time and why did they get their food before us. She said our food is coming up. 10 min later it finally arrived but by that time my lunch hour was almost up and we had to go. Despite giving us half of our bill, they were so disorganized and we were really pissed it took 40 min to make a burger/sandwich and fries. Never coming back here again.

This place was great! The food was delicious, drinks were well made, and the service was great.
I had Almond crusted whitefish on a bed of rice with this yummy asian-inspired sauce. The portion size was very generous....I got 3 meals out of it for about $11! My husband said his burger was one of the best he'd had, and our friend had a salmon sandwich that was delicious.
We each had drinks, which were great. Not too light, not poured with an extremely heavy hand. Good, balanced drinks.
The waitress was attentive and had a great sense of humor.
The location was great. The ambience inside is warm and inviting, the only downside is it's a little small. If it's a busy night, expect to sit really close to some strangers.
We'll definitely go back! I bet the patio is awesome when the weather is warmer! -

We went here for happy hour so, this review is based on that. I will say that on a sunny day the patio at 520 is amazing! It's beautiful, clean, has plenty of heating lamps, cozy blankets and was large! I would come back just for the patio!! The service was great and fast.
Now for the food. My husband and I must be spoiled by Seattle happy hours because this one felt skimpy. The plates were tiny. We were definitely planning on sharing and easting them as appetizers but they were still so small, even for $6. I wouldn't come back for happy hour. I actually think if you are actually hungry it would be a better value to order something off the menu at regular price. (and we are not big eaters we are both small people...) The food itself was okay it wasn't out of this world but it was fine.
I think the draw of this place is honestly the outdoor seating the great service and the variety on the menu. I would definitely check it out again, but I would skip the happy hour unless I was just interested in a small tiny bite to eat (i.e. you are not hungry...) -

Tucked in old main 520 Bar & grill is a little restaurant with an amazing patio, when you're here it feels like home. The patio is fenced off with tall plants and is very comfortable. The food is also decent both for snacking on or dinning.
It's a great place for a casual meeting or a get together with a bunch of friends. The waitress was very attentive to our table and our drinks were never empty.
Be wary that outdoor seating can be hard to get if the weather is nice! -
Review from Amy B.
Best outdoor patio in Bellevue!
Bistro sets are a bit wobbly on the bricks and diners are very close to neighboring couples but nonetheless you are seatted in what feels like a romantic, private arborvitae-enclosed open air room. Candles flicker at tables and the space is lined and draped with strings of outdoor lights.
The drinks are good and the food okay. What fails at this place is the service. They seated us without ever setting the table. We ordered but got only the plates and no flatware. Really? How can you miss that one? I had to ask twice for a fork and again for a napkin. Our drinks were never refilled. The waitress never came by to check in on us.
There's just nothing special here. I've done it and I'm unimpressed. Wish I could have liked it more because I'm local, but on to bigger and better things...Listed in: Bellevue Eats

I came here with my mom and my maid of honor after purchasing my wedding dress, so maybe I liked it because I was in such a great mood, but the food was really yummy and the drinks were good too! The restaurant a nice intimate setting, perfect for a girls night or even date night. I like that its in the "older" part of Bellevue, so its not crazy busy like some restaurants near Bell Square. Our server was super cute and really friendly, giving us her suggestions from the menu and for drinks. The best thing we ate was the grilled cheese with prosciutto - so yummy! I can't wait to go back!

Tucked in along the main shops on Main Street, you'll find 520. At first you are not really sure if the place is part of the adjoining furniture shop, or its own place. 520 is a little upscale in appearances (and prices), and small in size. I happened to find this place on a less crowded Sunday afternoon. I'd imagine this smaller place could be quite packed on a regular occasion.
From a bar perspective, it appears that they focus on wine and spirits. There's nothing on tap, but they do have a selection of bottled beers. As far as the food goes, their motto appears to be "big flavor, small plates." If you are familiar with tapas bars, you'll understand the concept. I had the salmon, which included basmati rice, organic greens and grilled asparagus. It was just the right amount of food, and didn't leave with that uncomfortable "I ate too much" feeling. -

I was there last friday for an office party/happy hour. $4 Stella Artois and Mac&Jacks is a-ok with me.
The apps that were ordered by the hostess were decent - we were outside even though it was cool it was comfortable with the heaters. Decent place and I'd like to check it out again w/o the work function. -

I came here for an after-work dinner with my mom, and was truly WOWed by the Cobb salad. Yes, I know, how hard can it be to make a Cobb salad, right? You'd be surprised!
I've eaten my fair share of mediocre Cobb salads at various Seattle area restaurants, and this one stands alone! Fresh lettuce and hard-boiled egg, plenty of avocado, firm (not mushy) tomatoes, and extra-crispy bacon, topped off with a mildly spicy gorgonzola dressing that was DIVINE!
I'm very particular about the way I dress my salads, and was even hesitant to substitute the somewhat unorthodox gorgonzola dressing to my preferred usual bleu cheese (which typically compliments a Cobb)...but I'm glad I took that chance. It was flavorful, without being too thick or rich. My next move, "Um,...520 Grill, can I get the recipe?"
My mom's white wine marinated clams looked tasty as well (minus the one bad clam in the bunch). Not quite 4 stars because despite the appetizing menu and relaxed ambiance, this place was way too pricey!Listed in: Top Eastside Eats

I've only been here once so I probably shouldn't review just yet, buuuuuuuut, I loved it! It's gonna be my new spot ;) My 2 girlfriends and I sat on the patio last Friday and it was so nice. They have heaters on the patio and will also offer you blankets if you're a wuss like me.
The inside seating area is pretty small so expect a wait at dinner time. There are TVs inside and out. Menu is perfectly casual (i.e. they have hot wings and nachos so I can get my boyfriend to take me here) yet you don't feel like you're being totally bad.
We had the coconut prawns served with a sweet dipping sauce, followed by a grilled cheese on sourdough with salmon chowder. No complaints on the food but I definitely wanna try something else next time.
They were out of the dessert we wanted (bread pudding) so I don't think this was a PERFECT experience...but I can't wait to go back!! -

Salmon sandwich was good enough. The vegetarian options were minimal at best, and the vibe, decor, crowd, and menu were all bland. The service was a bit slow.
Definitely a "good enough" place, but not worth recommending. -

Food: Above average
Service: Less than average
Location: Excellent
Price: Alittle too high
Repeat value: Because its there
I really enjoy going to this place for the outside seating. Its nice and relaxing on a spring/summer day/evening. However, its starts to go down hill from there. Depending on where you sit and the time of day, service goes from average to dissmal. I have stopped sitting at the bar. Its almost like they do not want to attend to you. Even though there are usually 2 -3 people behind the bar doing something, I always feel like I need to dance on the bar to get attention.
The food selection is ok but nothing that stands out. I usually get a snadwich and my wife goes from the fish tacos. I think the menu to price ratio keeps me asking for more. When I am thinking "where to go tonight" 520 does not come up high in the list. -

I have only been here a couple times for the happy hour (starts at 2 which is pretty cool). The first time I was with my buddy and we had lots of fun. We met the bartender "Leilani" or something and she was really helpful and cute. She also brought over the owner, "Randy " I think she was.
I came back alone and it was good but it is quite expensive. I ordered off the happy hour menu and for what I got I thought it was pretty high. I will go back sometime but definately for happy hour.
It's a really cute and cozy place and would be a great to go for a date. The regulars seem nice and it would probably be fun to hang out and have a beer at the bar.Listed in: Bellevue Happy Hour

Review from Amy K.
I am still laughing over JP's comment upon entering the 520 Bar and Grill last night...."did we just walk in on a realtor's meet and greet?" We definitely weren't in Seattle any more! The crowd was an older, after work crowd with a couple 20 and 30 somethings sprinkled in, but it seems like they started filtering out and we were left surrounded by a bunch of gray-hairs in button downs and sport coats. The positive is it's good to know that people still go out in their 60s and up. I am not sure if it was the old guy with his fur coat and flashlight for the menu who made me chuckle or the two younger guys sitting next to us who were calling play by play on the couple younger girls who were there and how much they liked long hair.
This place is SMALL. Tables are thisclosetogether so don't expect to have any intimate conversations here. It appears that they do have a nice patio/deck complete with heat lamps that would be worth hitting up if you find yourself on the eastside in warmer weather. Service was good, menu has a decent selection between appetizers and entrees. We started with the clams which were served in white wine broth and split the lamb burger, which was pretty tasty although the fries sucked...that's good in my book because then I wasn't tempted to gobble them up.
The have a few beers on draft, including Manny's (who doesn't nowadays...way to go Manny!) and a few by the bottle. Both were pretty pricey...I think my pint of Manny's was $6 (ouch). We had a pitcher after a game the other night for $10, but I guess if you are a trendy eastsider with deep pockets, this is your place to go.
Overall a solid 2 1/2 stars, but I rounded up... because it didn't suck and provided for great people gawking. Ah Bellevue on a Thursday night... -

Three stars for 520...for now!
My not-a-date and I arrived at 9:15PM on a Wednesday night and the place was pretty crowded. It looked to be mostly couples (including the two who really needed to get a room) and groups of couples.
The place is really LOUD. =( Which could make it a good place for a real date, as you have to cozy up to the person you're with and practically nibble on their ear if you want them to hear you.
I had fish and chips. The twice-fried steak fries were exceptionally dry in the middle and I nearly choked on a couple of them. The fish was really nice, though. A shame the portions of fish were so small, considering it's an $11 entree, but they were flaky and crisp.
Not-a-date ordered the teriyaki beef, which had a good (if thick and slightly too sweet) sauce. The meat was tender, too. I didn't steal any of his rice to see what that was like, but it seemed to be basmati or something other than sticky Japanese rice.
If it's this loud and noisy that late mid-week, I shudder to think what it's like on a weekend evening! Sitting outside, though, would be awesome. It's probably much, much quieter out there.Listed in: Are you local tonight?

Best place to grab a drink in Bellevue. Great outdoor seating for anything - watching Old Bellevue go by or catching the M's games on their large flat screens under the stars or fading sun. It's warm at night out there on the patio as well with heat lamps.
Usually packed, so pick your spots.
Great vibe. This place is packed for a good reason - great drinks, good food, fun people. -
Review from Kristy S.
OVER RATED.
How can I be more clear? Poor service. C- on the food. OVER PRICED. And, seriously, a Happy Hour from 2pm - 5:20pm? Whatever! This place, while locally owned and NOT a chain, is truly mediocre, which is sad given the atmosphere is nice - inside and on the patio. This place needs a makeover. -
Review from Tom G.
Issaquah, WA
I like the "business casual" atmosphere here. The service was prompt and polite. The patio seating was very comfortable and relaxing. The regular dining menu's food is a notch up from bar food. But for the prices, it's a step down from nice restaurant food. The same goes for the drink menu--good but once again on the pricey side.
I give the Happy Hour 4 stars, regular dining 3.5. -

I came in here for a drink. For some reason this place makes me feel like I'm at the beach, which is great. I don't know what it was but I didn't feel like was in Washington, I almost felt like I was in California. Who knows.
My bartender, whose doppelganger is Ralph Machio, was pretty terrible. Just slightly attentive and pretty lazy. God I hate waiting for a check to be picked up. Take my money!
I'd definitely stop in for a drink or a beer if I'm out that way again cause the environment was really relaxing. -
