Super nice folks. Super tough and flavorless Brisket. Sadly.
Their bBQ sauce seems to be mostly brown sugar. Super super sweet. -

5 Star recently catered my fatther-in-laws 80th birthday party. Not only was the food delicious, delivered on time and hot, but the service we received was exceptional! Thanks for making his special day even better.

I have been to 5 Star BBQ's spot at the farmer's market on Power Road and have also had them cater my kids birthday parties and every time they knock it out of the park. The farmers market set up is a great place to grab lunch if you're out and about running errands on the weekend...try the brisket (my favorite) or the smoked turkey with the green chili barbecue sauce. The green sauce is different than anything I have tried from other establishments and it keeps me coming back. As for the catering it was no fuss no muss, everything was brought to the house; plates, rolls (pre-sliced), sauce, sides, meat....all we had to do was heat it up and it was half the price of what we spent the year prior at Peter Piper Pizza. Everybody at the party loved it. If you're looking for great food served by a great husband and wife team who love what they do I would give them a try.

5 Star BBQ can also be found most weekends at the Power Rd Farmer's Market in Mesa from 10 A.M. til about 3 P.M.

Owned by Jim & Joanne. Jim has been cooking and perfecting REAL Southwestern style BBQ for over 20 years using regional flavors and ingredients. They started a catering business in March 2010.

Pitmaster Jim Hauer, through years of designing, building and cooking with smoker trailer and backyard BBQ pits has developed techniques to affect temperature, heat, time and smoke patterns for producing amazing flavor and tenderness from various types of meat groups.
