Just got my piercing done by Jamie. She was friendly, talked me through everything, and gave me thorough aftercare instructions. I had a great experience, and will definitely come back to get tattoos as well. (The tattooists were also very friendly and professional when I came in.)

Ok - FOR MY 100th REVIEW - I will comment on this place.

The funny thing is I have never gone here before...at least not yet, however I have gotten some ink done by Monk at another shop.....now that I think about it, I think it was the same shop but they moved to the present location - something like that. Either which way, I remember Monk and the work he did on me....yeah it was one of my first tattoos and I won't lie I went a bit too often after my first one so Monk may remember me but it has been a while. He's a great guy who has done work on a number of my friends and we all have no complaints. I remember when I first met him and I initially had some little design done...I soon came back with a much bigger design for him to put up on my back. I don't recall them ever doing piercing back in the day so I would imagine business has gone well enough for them to expand. So I guess in a way if tattooing was a drug then he'd be my first dealer....was that a bad analogy? I think it was appropriate....you can get addicted to tattoos but that's a completely different story. SO, if you're reading this Monk, I will be seeing you soon. I got a bigger piece in mind.

i really wanted a tattoo in alibata, so i did my research using google and came across 4zeroeight, and even though i live in suckramento, i journeyed all the way to san jose. monk is hella cool and put up with me and my friend's indecisiveness. what was tight was that they were also able to translate into ilocano, so i can stay even truer to my peeps. i went there originally for one tattoo and walked out of there with three cuz he hooked me up with a deal. i seriously love my tats and if you are considering getting some work done i would check this place out. they are clean, personable, and willing to go the extra mile for you.

I definitely recommend this place to get a tattoo. I actually have to a few people & they have all been satisfied with the work they had done. Monk recently just finished my koi fish & lotus cover up & I love it! He quoted me at good price too unlike another shop that quoted me about $200+ more. The shop is clean & all the artist in here have great personalities so you'd enjoy the vibe you get from the shop. I'm planning on coming back here for another piece or two or three!!

yo wut it doo! i got the Philippine islands on my back at 4zeroeight by monk. The guy did a koo ass job it turned out hella sick! i recommend everyone to go there if they want to get some ink done real spit. Hes a pro too he dont dig into ur skin like the amatures do. so that means it wont hurt as much. well i guess it also depends on how much pain u can take.

    other than that, the shop is hella clean and sanatary. Monk and Joe are the artists at 4zeroeight and there hella koo amd they do really good work.

    i dont kno wut Kimmy L is talkin bout i think shes a crazy bitch trying to fuck up someones name. but yea dont listen to kimmy L aka crzy bitch! i dont think shes even real cuz if monk can do the islands on my back hella clean i dont think he would fuck up on a little ass heart. i bet KimmyL is juss some 50 yr old virgin making viruses in his mamas house. and why the hell would u put a heart behind ur hear who the fuck are u?, Britnry Spears! But yea, yall check out the shop so u kno i aint bull shittin

I got a koi fish behind my ear at 4zeroEight by Monk in Jan 2007.
It hurt like hell. But my koi looks great!
But if you're worried about the pain, don't worry.. my BF got koi tattooed behind both ears and he was sleeping like a baby.
So I guess the pain depends on how great your threshold is.

Anyways.. the artists here, Monk (the owner) and Joe, are really great.
They're super talented and fun to talk to.
They are also really clean and sanitary here, unlike some places which I will not mention..
(I dont think I have to say this but just in case.. PLEASE do not get your tattoo/piercing at a place that smells funny and looks dirty. You don't have to go to 4zeroEight, but just do yourself a favor and opt for a cleaner place. You'll get a better tattooing expeirence and be happier if you did!)

4zeroEight, when they were still located on Morill, was like my second home for an entire month because my BF and his friends were getting so many tattoos here.

They moved to their new store on E. Santa Clara (between 19th and 20th St.)
Check them out.. even if you're still "shopping" around for a tattoo/piercing shop go to the store.
They have way more pictures of their work in the store to give you more of an idea on how great of a job they do here!

Also, I forgot to mention - 4zeroEight specializes in alibata (ancient filipino tribal characters) They are one of the few shops that do. And they do it right! Don't trust those online translations. The artists here know how to translate it from english to tagalog/ilicano, how to translate that to alibata, and properly place the characters.

Anyways just wanted to tell all you out there this shop is the shit.
I have not seen any other shops so clean.

Stop by and take a look around the guys there are very nice and friendly, the shop is very very clean, and safe.

They got some of the best prices in San Jo if your looking to get some nice and clean ass work done.

Thanks to 4ZEROEIGHT i will be back in there thats for dam sure, no one else can beat those prices for the quality work . .
