Had lunch there this week, it was right on!  Had white chicken chili and a crab cake sandwich.  Amazing.  It was awesome!

Visiting the fam in C-burg and settled on 4th Street as: my favorite restaurant in the area, Provence, was booked; my sister wanted seafood; had never eaten there before. The food was good with big portions, but not out of this world and the menu was little too heavy on fried/breaded food or creamy sauces...so maybe just not my type of cuisine.

A little surprised when absolutely no one else was in the restaurant on a Saturday evening at 7pm (does the 3rd night of the local Blackberry Festival really draw the whole area away from eating out--we still made it to the fireworks?)  The restaurant must have expected a slow night because the waitress soon informed us that the menu for the evening was verbal and it did not seem extensive.  I like to be able to read/study the whole menu, but went with it. However a couple came in right after that and since one waitress had to explain  the full menu, it slowed down the service a bit perhaps.  She read the appetizers to us, and then went to wait on the other customers. I would have preferred she also told us the entrees as well at that time,  as that may have influenced what we chose as appetizers.

So the three of us(my dad, sis, and me) decided on two appetizers to start. The tomato bowl was my choice...sort of bruchetta on steroids...and I think the only non-fried/heavy creamy choice.  It was pretty delicious with plenty of fresh tomatoes, chunks of cheese, and alot of a sort of soft french baguette type of bread (at least that is what the waitress called it.) My dad and sister shared the lobster/crab bisque soup...and they really enjoyed it...eating it both as a soup and using it as a dip with the other basket of bread provided.

There really weren't alot of seafood choices for my sister, and again many creamy sauces/fried/breaded items. For the entrees, my sister sampled the chicken cacciatore, while the chicken francese got the ticket by me and my dad. My sister's entree was huge. My chicken came with asparagus and really rich, buttery, mashed potatoes.  Those potatoes were really good and the best part of the entree  (but i'm sure that was real butter, and fattening with alot of calories, but hey it's ok once in a while). Really substantial piece of chicken, but again for me too breaded/too creamy of sauce.

I took half my entree to go as I wanted to try a dessert. Tough call between a bananas foster and a peach pecan bread pudding. Went with the more unique version of bread pudding that came with a bourbon glaze...it was good choice and don't think I've ever had this type of bread pudding.

Sounds like from other reviews--on Yelp and other sites--burger night is should not be missed.  We didn't have any drinks since we were going to go to the 5th floor afterwords, so can't speak to that.

God knows when I'll be back in Clarksburg after getting terminated a couple of days after the last time that I ate at 4th Street (no worries, there loss, as I'm making a lot more money now doing more interesting work).

I just wanted to say that 4th street, along with the view and drink at Fifth Floor, made my work in the area something to (almost) look forward to, and I hope to have the opportunity to visit and try the new menu.

I have to love a restaurant in Northern WV that serves seafood as good as you get on the coasts.  I am further amazed that given that most "steak and seafood" places drown their seafood in sauce, the kitchen at 4th Street knows how to use a little mornay to kick the flavor up without making my salmon think it was swimming again. Their steak's great, too, and i had a nibble of my friend's chicken parm and it was very promising. The thing is that while the prices are a little steep for Clarksburg, they do a great job turning out good cuisine at a price which would be called downright cheap in DC or Pittsburgh.

My real amazement was when i strolled into the bar my first time here, as i didn't want to wait outside because it was flippin' March, asked for a martini, and the bartender cocked his head, looked at me, said "I'm thinking gin, olives, slightly dirty, very dry...as in Churchill dry."

Best read ever. One of the best martinis ever, too. Don't miss this place.

I was finally able to go to 4th Street after meaning to make it there for nearly a year! I am elated that I squeezed it into a short weekend in Bridgeport for a wedding.

I walked through the doors with guarded speculation as my parents had reported "good but not groundbreaking" cuisine. The food was great... not groundbreaking for a huge city crowed with culinary options, but I would go so far as to say ambitiously epicurean for somewhere like Harrison County West Virginia. The atmosphere and service were superb. If you go to 4th Street, I entreat you, GET THE TOMATO BOWL! Though I may have been liberal with the 5 stars for my entree, the tomato bowl, decor, and our waiter made the experience... no pun intended!  My final kudos go out to 4th Street in the way of their adult beverages. Though my boyfriend was disappointed to find no draft beer, I had a delightfully fizzy berry sparkling wine which I will surely return to guzzle (in the most ladylike of fashions) in the future.

This is so sad. Come on Clarksburg! I know you have the internet. Put up some Yelp reviews and support locally owned restaurants in your city. You have few dining options outside of fast food and chain restaurants and one as good as this deserves to stick around. But they need your help. Put out the word! 4th Street is delicious! There lunch, which is unfortunately the only thing I've had due to living in Chicago and not Clarksburg, is awesome. Last Christmas when I was in visiting the family I got to go twice. The sandwiches are very good and unique. The onion soup was wonderful. The smoked trout was excellent. Everything was good. I would love to go back for dinner next time I am in, so I hope it is still around. Okay Clarksburg... Get out there and support 4th Street so I may have the chance of eating there again!

I have enjoyed dining at 4th Street "The Downtown Experience" on several occasions, including lunch and dinner.  Their menu is exceptional.  Don't be afraid to try a diverse offering of several ethnic dishes.  They are all prepared very well.  Portions are exceptional and the quality of food is always good, with a nice presentation as well.  The only reason I did not rate five stars is because the service is not always friendly.  Sometimes it is very good (and the staff is very friendly) and other days you almost feel the need to "try to make the waiters smile" with a positive comment or encouraging word.

4th street has a great atmosphere and great food.  The service was great, and all of the food came out promptly.  This is definitely one of the better restaurants in North Central WV.
