Reno, NV
Only eaten here once, but it was fantastic. If it wasn't so expensive I would eat here more often.
Appetizers- had the spicy shrimp brushetta and the pork belly, both were excellent. I especially loved the brushetta- the shrimp had an excellent kick and lots of subtle complexities of flavor.
Dinner- hubby had the Liberty Duck, I wasn't a huge fan, but he loved it. I had the Filet. The filet was perfectly cooked, seasoned, and buttered. But even better than the filet was the potatoes. The potatoes in the potato gratin were so thinly sliced and perfectly tender, it was hands down the best part of our entire meal.
Desert- Oh my god we should really start going to this place for desert! The pecan/ caramel/ chocolate ganache and the lemon tart were both heavenly.
The service was great. Our server's recommendations were right on the mark. My only complaint was the atmosphere. The ambiance leaves a little to be desired. For a $200 plus dinner I was hoping for a little more intimacy like you would get at Lulu's. With the lighting and the decor this place feels very casual. You can hear every conversation around you whether you want to or not.
Overall, I would go here again for a special occassion, but probabaly only if Lulu's was already booked. -

Id like to give this place 2.5 stars. We were very excited to eat here because we had heard such good things. It wasnt abnormally busy when we went, but for some reason our waitress took forever taking our order. So much so that we stood up to track her down after the table next to us got there after us and had already ordered. Not something you should have to do at such an establishment. We ordered salads, the pork belly to share, the sturgeon, the steak and a bottle of wine.
I was informed they were out of steak and the wine I selected and they had no other beef option. SERIOUSLY? Thats a pretty amateur move. The waitress suggested the lamb and a different bottle of wine.
The food came and everything was delicious, although my lamb (which was thankfully very large) was somewhat dry and flavorless. The consistency was good, but could have packed more of a flavor.
The wine was decent, but the champagne, cocktails and dessert were fantastic.
The bill was pretty spendy and I came to find later the $50 bottle of wine sells for about $14 in my local grocery store.
I may come back here again, but not sure Id recommend it to a friend. -
Review from Tracy S.
Yes, that's right, three stars. It makes me miserable to post that number, and I kind of feel like I don't even want to write this review, seeing as we waited so long to eat here with so much anticipation and walked away disappointed. I have heard wonderful things about 4th St Bistro--both here and in person--from people whose opinions I trust, but such a memorable dining experience eluded us.
To be fair, it was NYE, and our reservations were for the last seating. Because of that, I am willing to forgive the sloppy service we received...the staff was probably exhausted at that point. Add to that, though, our dislike of the ambience ("It looks like we're in a Mimi's," said Husband), and we were left with a bad first impression. The biggest turn-off, though, was the plastic tablecloths. Are. You. Kidding. Me? $100 a person, and we don't even get table linens? Every time I saw the busser scrubbing down one of those plastic tablecloths with a wet rag, I cringed.
My Spicy Bengali Gimlet was really fantastic, though, so I took a deep breath and waited for the amazing food to wash away all of our initial response.
But it didn't.
Husband enjoyed his dishes more than I did, so his response was a bit more generous. Neither of us really cared for the Mini Tangine of Louisiana Shrimp appetizer, but he really liked his Cauliflower Soup, whereas my Hearts of Romaine Salad with Pears was dull and just felt like filler. His entree was the Roast Breast of Duck, which was really delicious--perfect texture and complex flavors. I had the Pork Tenderloin with Red Cabbage, and while the textures were perfect, the flavors were a bit--I'll use the word again--dull.
So was the food bad? No. Was it worthy of the hype? Not in our experience. The word AVERAGE kept floating through my mind as we sat there. The only really bright spot of the night was the Mocha Pot d'Creme, which was sublime. But it wasn't enough to lift the disappointment that had settled in at that point.
If ever I felt bad about posting a review, it is this one. 4th St...I wanted to love you SO BAD!!! -

Bellevue, ID
Creative selection of cocktails to start. Salads were terrific (we had the beet salad & romaine w/snap peas & goddess dressing). Halibut entree was moist, tender & tasty. Duck with cherries, kale & maple sweet potatoes was "really frickin good" with a terrific combo of flavors. We absolutely love their focus on sustainable & regional foods (& gluten free options). And this is from overly spoiled foodie out of towners.

Some of the best food in Reno. The service is wonderful and the food is worth the price.
My only complaint is that of consistency. The first night we went there, all the food was flavorful, complex, and what you'd expect for high-end gourmet, and about a week later, some of the dishes were too salty (e.g, my risotto).
Please don't destroy your dishes with too much salt! They really don't need it. :) -

I actually came here about 2 years ago for my birthday. Had a pretty damn good meal with some friends. Tried the seared Foie Gras, which was excellent. Then had a fish entree, which I can't recall the name of. Thought the food was great, only problem is I felt it was way overpriced for the quality. I've been to just as good places in the area and eaten just as good, but didn't have to pay nearly as much as 4th st. I have no problem paying for an expensive meal, but expect my mind to be blown for the prices I was paying here, which didn't happen. Very nice and classy restaurant, but probably won't be coming back anytime soon.

I often take clients to 4th street and while it is a special place with excellent service it is not my favorite place in Reno. The menu includes fresh and delicious ingredients but has a limited selection. The filet is amazing but I would rather eat at Harrahs or Atlantis Steakhouse for a good piece of beef. The smoked salmon appetizer and pork belly are very tasty as is the soups they make.
It is quite pricey and it takes a long time to eat- all in all an okay dining experience. -

Wanting to take our visiting friends somewhere special we chose the 4th Street Bistro. First impression is that the restaurant is not situated in a particularly nice area, though once inside the interior is decorated pleasantly and there is a quaint feel to the place.
The following may seem a bit harsh - please consider that expectations are higher for restaurants classified as 'fine dining' where dinner for 4 with a bottle of wine ($60) comes it at just over $350.
Seating: Tables are too close to each other, a little more space/privacy would be good.
Wait staff: Friendly and professional, overall good service. The waitress doubled as a sommelier, and it seemed like her knowledge of wine was wanting. There are so many wine labels that it would be virtually impossible for a customer to be familiar with all of the wines on a list. I like describe what I want from a wine and have someone select a bottle accordingly.
Food: Appetizer - the thick cut bacon was very hard to chew and though it was a part of the appetizer it had to be eaten separately because you could not bite through it. Dish 1 - Stacked food, for real? I keep hoping that this trend will end. If I wanted all my food mixed together I'd get a KFC famous bowl. Stop it, please! Anyway, on top of the stack were several undercooked lamb chops - ordered medium rare, they arrived raw. Also, the mashed potatoes were soggy from the jus that came with the chard. Dish 2 (not stacked, thank you!) - Steak was fine, the potato gratin seemed like it was a reheated slice of a dish cooked yesterday (and under salted). Overall, the dish was OK but for $40 it should be a knockout.
Overall, the meal would have been acceptable had it been served at a hotel restaurant for around half or a third the price, however when served under the guise of 'fine dining' I expect more. -

Really one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The service was prompt and the staff was very professional and knowledgeable. Everything was amazing! The cocktails, the wine, the appetizers. My duck was incredible.
Remote location added to the mystique of the place. Not much on the outside but cozy and warm inside. Would love to go again someday. -

You HAVE to feel ridiculous calling a meal eaten on 1/22 your "Best Meal of the Year." But I'm going to challenge restaurants over the next 11 months to top it and, being that 4th St. Bistro is in Reno, I'm making them a 4-1 favorite to finish the year on top.
For an appetizer, I got the Maple Glazed Niman Ranch Pork Belly, Frisée & House made Pickled Garlic Scapes. Sorry for you foodies who are "over" pork belly but I am not - especially when it is made this perfect. My buddy and I stopped talking for a good five minutes.
In lieu of the Duck Leg Confit that was calling out to me from the menu, our sharp, passionate sever talked me into getting the special sliced duck breast instead. This duck must have had the most pampered life ever, because it was a huge breast that was incredibly tender and flavorful with just an undertone of gaminess.
Finally, we split a desert: Scharffen Berger Bittersweet Chocolate
Ganache Torte with a Pecan Crust& Caramel Sauce. The pastry chef here is every bit as good as the Chef de Cuisine - this desert blew me away and may have ruined all chocolates for me moving forward. Plus our amazing server suggested a pairing with Blandy's, 10 yr. Malmsey, Madeira that was spot on.
If you love food and find yourself in Reno, Lake Tahoe, hell even Sacramento, make the drive over. Better yet, after seeing the reserve wine list, take a cab. -

I owe Yelp a great debt of gratitude for leading me to 4th St Bistro while I was visiting Reno for a convention. All the other five star reviews of this gem are right on the money.
This operation was pitch perfect from the beginning of our meal to its delightful conclusion. This restaurant would easily hold its own in San Francisco or any other fine dining mecca. Clearly 4th St Bistro stands head and shoulders above any other dining experience in Reno.
The prices are entirely fair for what you get, but do expect to pay for a top notch dining experience. The pork belly appetizer was incredible. The BF had the pate and it was also excellent. The salads both of us tried made a nice transition to two incredible entrees. The BF had the scallops with risotto and both were prepared to perfection. I had the filet mignon and it was utterly amazing. The desserts were delicious and the chocolate truffles were a perfect ending to an utterly superb meal. We also enjoyed classic cocktails throughout our delightful evening.
At the conclusion of the meal, we were delighted to have the front of house manager introduce us to the chef. This is a world-class operation in every aspect.
The location is a bit out of the way, but don't let that dissuade you. This stop is a MUST for any foodie who visits Reno. You will not be disappointed! -

Great little restaurant in town.
The steak was tender and cooked perfectly. We also had the osso bucco which was rich and flavorful.
The service is was perfect. -

Reno, NV
Easily the best gourmet restaurant in town! Beautiful, delicious food, excellent service, and yummy wine.
The Niman Ranch steak is the best you'll have in your life, guaranteed. It melts in your mouth. I always get the steak.
The wine list is good and they will recommend based on your meal and your price range, very down to earth.
I would say the desert is sometimes lacking, in that I love desert but there is not any desert they serve that I am super excited about. I'm not a fan of bread-puddings and ganache's.
This is an excellent place to eat! be prepared to spend some bucks. Usually over 100 for 2 people, but if you got the dough and wanna indulge this is the place to go. -

I am very satisfied with the 4th Street Bistro. It came recommended as "the best restaurant in Reno", and as a recent NV transplant from Los Angeles, I just had to experience the best that Reno had to offer. It didn't disappoint. A bit hard to find - this country-themed establishment seems to be in the abandoned rail-yard district of Reno, but once inside, the atmosphere transcends the gritty urban blight.
4th Street Bistro offers an excellent and extensive wine list (90% of which were out of our price range), and some really creative entrées. I had the lamb shank, which is as good as any lamb that I've ever had, and my wife had the braised short ribs which she recommends highly. For dessert, we had the profiteroles and some sort of chocolate/fruit torte. Both were excellent.
Including a bottle of one of their less expensive wines, the bill came out to $170 for two people. Expensive, and not somewhere we'll go every week, but worth the price on special occasions. It gives me hope that Reno might start to develop a culinary scene. Now we just need more ethnic restaurants. -

The food and service was outstanding but the corkage fee was over the top. We were also very disappointed by the lack of recognition.
The meal is expensive so we expected more. -

Pleasanton, CA
NYE dinner here, and it was quite good.
I tried the pork tenderloin and substituted one of my sides for their potato gruyere gratin. Gotta try it. The pork is flavorful, and not dry. The potatos are cheesy but not overbearingly salty. Very cute restaurant, and very polite and attentive waiters and waitresses. Our waitress was extremely helpful, and it was a pleasure being served by her (I wish I could remember her name). -

Fresh and local (which is not easy in Reno). Can't think of anything negative to say. -

Really hate to do this, since our past experiences here have been satisfactory. We went on Friday and were given a small, cramped table for 4. We asked for another one, but were not accommodated. We got over it and ordered drinks and appetizers, which were delicious. However, our dining experience was TERRIBLE after this. We ordered scallops, filet mignon and salmon for dinner. ONE HOUR later we still hadn't received our food, all the while noticing that several people had received theirs. Our waiter was unapologetic and had a horrible attitude. Owner walked around and NEVER checked on us.
Needless to say, we will not be returning here again. We'll go spend our $350.00 to restaurants that APPRECIATE our business!!!! -

I'd say 4.5 stars, but as this is the best restaurant in Reno, 5 stars.
You're looking at $75ish a person, and it's worth that, on special occasion. The food is perfect, the menu is incredibly varied, the soups and appetizers are terrific, and the mixed drinks are even best in town.
The -0.5 star? It's very, very dark in there at night, and service slowed down noticeably but not terribly when they got busy. -

4th Street is one of my favorite Reno restaurants. The food is always delightful, innovative and delicious. The servers are attentive and helpful, friendly and warm. When the weather is good, the patio is delightful. The dining rooms are comfortable.
I'm often tempted by the specials because they're made from the freshest food available. The preparations are creative and the presentation beautiful. -

I love this place. Just moved into the area, and have already been here twice. Each time we came, the food was excellent. I have a feeling that some dishes are WAY better than others, so you need to order well. To date, we've had EXCELLENT scallops with risotto and the duck breast was incredible. The seared foie gras is absolutely delicious. However, I thought the short ribs were just OK. They do have a few surprises: they make their own limoncello, which is to die for. Overall, excellent!

We love the 4th Street Bistro! You couldn't ask for better service and the food was delicious except for one little thing -- I don't like salt and some of my food was pretty salty. My husband and sister-in-law didn't have any problem at all but did understand my complaint. I usually try to remember to ask the chef to not add any salt to what I order but I forgot this time. Other than that, we love the place and will be returning as often as we can.

I went here last night for my husbands birthday. I seriously can say this was one of the best meals I have EVER had in my life!!!! The layers of flavor in their food is like none other. Absolutely wonderful!!!
I started with the crimini mushroom soup, very delicate and delicious. For my entree I had the Sturgeon with lentils, dungeness crab and truffle aioli! Oh my gosh, this dish was outstanding.... The fish was cooked perfectly and went so well with the lentils. For dessert I had the meyer lemon spongecake, super bright flavors almost like a custard.
From the service to every plate they serve 4th Street gets five stars all the way! The food is always wonderful and leaves my mouth watering for more!!! -

I was drawn by the rave reviews and the promise of a delicious, local/ sustainably farmed meal for a birthday dinner. Everything we ordered was flawless and we were amazed by each one!
We started with the prosciutto and nectarine pizzetta which was perfectly crispy and had a great balance of sweet, salty, and bitter (arugula on top). We also ordered the soup of the day, which was a tomato soup with a bit of chili spice, sweet corn and pesto puree. It was really refreshing and once again had such a variety of flavors that I was glad that I tried it.
For my main course, I ordered the seared scallops with a corn and mushroom risotto. The scallops were extremely fresh and perfectly seared to give it flavor but not overcooked. The risotto was so good that I took it home because I was so full! The others ordered the duck, which got rave reviews, and the lamb, which was so good he almost licked the plate!
We also ordered a half bottle of French wine which was great. We finished off with pluot upside down cake with a pistachio ice cream. The cake was really dense and the cake was pretty sweet, but the pistachio ice cream was a hit!
I would definitely go back and recommend this for a special occasion. And make sure to ask for a window seat if you are a party of two! -

I finally had the opportunity to eat at 4th St. Bistro, and let me tell you, it was a wonderful experience.
The ambiance is great. Warm and welcoming, cozy but not claustrophobic. The hostess was extremely friendly and sat us immediately (we did have reservations). Our table was comfortable and in a corner, and the place was fairly busy, so there was a lot of noise, but not party kid noise, but adults having a good time noise.
We had a cheese starter to begin, which was delicious to me because I happen to love bleu cheeses; my compatriots did not. Lucky for me! They had a really fantastic wine from Rioja, Spain that I truly loved, and now I wished I would have committed the name to memory. I had the sun choke soup, which was really interesting, with rich, fall-like flavors. For my entree I had the lamb shank, and normally I would have devoured it, but it was so rich and tasty that I could hardly finish it! For dessert, I had the chocolate pot de creme. YUMMY!
All in all this was a fantastic meal and I will certainly recommend this beautiful place to anyone. -
Review from Ann Marie C.
While I grew up here in Reno and have returned, I spent a lot of time overseas, and lived in New York for 7 years. Just before I moved back my boyfriend from Paris came to Reno so I could show him around and we were referred to this restaurant for a wonderful and romantic meal.
I figured it would be good, but I was blown away. I couldn't imagine more jaded patrons than a New Yorker and a Parisian, however we could not stop talking about it. The staff is quite knowledgeable and the wine list, exquisite. (Even though he did pout a little when I ordered a Spanish wine instead of a French one.)
4th Street Bistro could easily hold it's own in New York or Paris, but is right here. -

Thank heaven this place is here--this may be the only GOOD restaurant in Reno.
IQ and I hit Reno for a Blondie concert and tried to make a mini vacation out of it. Yelp steered us to this place as a promising dinner venue, and when we hit town we called to get a reservation and ask if they'd allow us to tie Scotty up while we ate. The owner, a lovely woman, told us that dogs were not permitted but when she heard we were from out of town she made a big exception. She welcomed us and Scotty with open arms for a late dinner on the back deck, which is a lovely space, and we really enjoyed talking with her.
Every single thing we ordered and ate and drank was exceptional and the service matched it. I had an heirloom tomato salad and a lamb brochette dish and IQ enjoyed a chicken on our Labor Day weekend visit.
Several times Carol, the GM, approached us to chat and make sure we were happy and all the servers were personable, attentive, had great recommendations and still knew when to let us eat and chat.
If you like good food, well prepared, in a nice atmosphere, you can't do better in Reno. 4th Street Bistro would stand up on its own in San Francisco, for heaven's sake.
It's a little off the beaten track but I would beat a path to 4th Street Bistro's door when in Reno. -

Lea and I ate there last week, and it is a restaurant for you to add to your list.
This is not an everyday restaurant, as I can't spend a hundred dollars every night, but it is a great special occasion restaurant. If you can spend that kind of money be sure to go here a lot.
My wife ordered nothing by appetizers, and she was very happy. I got to taste them all, but several days later, the one that I remember was the soup. It was good.
I had the Cabernet butter fillet Mignon, and I was very very happy. The steak was cooked the way I like it, served with some vegetables, and it was fantastic.
The service was good. I drink a plethora of water, and I was never without. We did bring a bottle of our own wine, and we did get to pay the $20 corkage, but, having reviewed the wine list, there are a number of reasonable options on the menu, and they had me considering taking my wine home with me.
My wife and I also had a dessert each, and we enjoyed these also. I had the 'berries and creme', and there is nothing quite as fantastic as great fruit served attractively with a nice panna cotta.
Again, this needs to be on your special event dinner list. We enjoyed it very much, and we'll be back. -

We went here for our anniversary, looking at all of the amazing reviews, and expecting to be amazing. We were not amazed, but definitely enjoyed the food. I had the braised lamb shanks, and there were overbraised, to me and a bit salty. The salad was amazing, and we enjoyed at 8$ sparkling grape juice but overall, just okay.
A lot of people that were there were not dressed up, just in jeans and sweaters, so I am not sure why its supposed to be a dressy place. Even the mayor of Reno was there, and in casual dress, no tie, just a plain white shirt.
We very much enjoyed the salami and cheese appetizer. -

It's easy to drive past 4th Street Bistro without noticing it; it's tucked up on a hill, hidden by trees, on a part of 4th Street where cars tend to whizz by at 50 or 60 mph. But the setting is lovely, and the food is great, so it's definitely worth your notice.
We arrived for an early dinner at 6PM. Parking was easy, with lots of space. We had made a reservation and were seated at once.
I was a little overdressed in a skirt and blouse, but I didn't feel too uncomfortable. (I actually found myself wishing the other patrons had dressed up a bit; but I guess anything but casual attire is too much effort these days.)
Our waiter was polite though not overly chatty (something I appreciate, since I prefer to chat with my companions), and very attentive. I'm not used to fine dining (I grew up REALLY poor), so I was a bit nervous about ordering, but everything went well.
The food was ridiculously good. We had a mozzarella and heirloom tomato salad, foie gras, and an olive sampler as appetizers. It was all delicious. I had braised short ribs and the husband had filet mignon. Both were succulent and drool-worthy. We finished up with plum upside-down cake. This was definitely a pricey meal, but absolutely worth it.
The only thing that really bothered me was that the folks at the table next to us asked us if we were celebrating a special occasion, and then the waiter asked us again as well. It made us feel a bit out of place and silly, as though we didn't belong. But we were just there to eat good food. Otherwise, a great experience! -

My husband and I took my mom here when she was visiting for the holiday. My mom has Celiac disease and it is always risky to go out to eat because she can't have any food that is cross contaminated with gluten.
4th St. was not only accommodating, but almost their entire menu has gluten free options. My mom always has a hard time finding *good* gluten free bread and that which she was served was the best gluten free bread she had ever had. Owner Carol has celiac herself and went so far as to bring out the packaging of the gluten free bread so we would know what to go and get for her at home.
Everything we had was *AMAZING* - here is what we ordered:
To Begin:
* Maple Glazed Pork Belly - We all shared this one, it was absolutely amazing ... deliciousness
* Petite Tagine of shrimp with spiced chick peas - Mom had this (Gluten free!) and let me try some, it had a nice kick to it
* Mushroom Bisque soup - My husband described this as light and delicately flavored
* Shaved Fennel, apple & celary salad - This was mine and I loved it. It was very light, perfectly seasoned with the vinaigrette
Main Course:
* Penne Pasta with shrimp - My husband said it was okay, but nothing to write home about. (what did he expect when ordering penne pasta?)
* Grilled Moroccan spiced Chicken Breast - I had this and could only eat half of it. The sliced breast was plump and very juicy - loved the spicy kick it had
* Liberty Duck - mom ordered this one, it was served with a persimmon relish and maple yams. She ordered it medium, which was recommended, but mom would have liked it more done, she thought it was too raw.
Desserts:
* Apple Crisp: I had this one myself, it was really amazing. The flavor of the crisp varies with what fruit is in season, I noticed there is a photo f a peach crisp. Mine came out just like that one, only apple.
* Ice cream with meringue crisp: this was gluten free, suggested by the dessert
All total, overall experience was OUTSTANDING 5 star plus plus ...Listed in: BEER, Top Restaurants

Sets the example in Reno of relaxed fine dining, and an acute attention to excellent food without any pretension. Service was excellent (we had early reservations due to an evening engagement, started out with the restaurant to ourselves), the cocktail menu was creative and varied, and the food menu did not disappoint. The filet was cooked to perfection, and with the broccoli and potato-gruyere gratin made for a delicious upscale version of a classic american meal. The pork tenderloin was cooked to perfection, and the cabbage and spaetzle was a perfect compliment.
Definitely my favorite restaurant in Reno at the moment, worth the price, and I can't wait to go back! -

Wow. I love the organic, seasonal menu...tomatoes were in every dish when I went there. The menu changes every month depending on seasonal produce. The atmosphere is amazing, bread, service, flavors, desserts; all incredible...by far my favorite restaurant in Reno.
Update: Went here again tonight and the menu was completely different!!!!!! I had bites of everyone's dishes duck, pork, filet mignon, mahi mahi, halibut, soup, bread, oysters, and a mushroom appetizer and everything was amazing...then after this wealth of incredibleness we had dessert including the sharrfen berger chocolate torte, mouse, and panna cotta AMAZING! The coffee was incredible as was the tea....go after hours of wine walking downtown (like we did, and the already amazing food tasted that much better) and with a big crowd so you can attempt to taste the whole menu!!!Listed in: Top Restaurants

Bay Area transplants and visitors take note - the lead chef studied at the Culinary Institute and was a chef at Chez Panisse for a time. That should be all you need to know to understand this place is worth a try!
Ate there last night for the first time. Very impressed. A breath of fresh air in Reno where it really is hard to find local, sustainable, creatively prepared foods.
I had a summer melon cold soup first course (a little spicy to go along with that sweet melon flavor) duck leg over braised spinach with peaches/olives/pecans for main course, and three fresh fruit sorbets for desert. All courses were great and I can't wait to try the other items on the menu.
They have several fish plates that looked good and importantly for me, are all very sustainable options. Artic Char, Alaskan Halibut, etc.
Wine lovers will find that menu to have a great range as well.
The wait staff were friendly and knowledgable. I will be back within the month! -

First recommendation by the server was a raspberry lemondrop cocktail. It was a nice way to start the meal.
For our appetizers, I really wanted to try the pork belly, but the preserved shrimp w/ Moroccan spice was recommended by our server. It was good, but it didn't wow us as we had expected. It's just like shrimp scampi w/ pepper flakes. Should've stuck to our first choice.
Had the lamb shank and the halibut for our main course. Everything on each plate was cooked perfectly. Each dish had an interesting combination of taste and texture. The lamb meat was soft and subtle and worked nicely w/ the orzo and corona beans. The halibut floated on a bed of lentils, asparagus, and peas. I honestly hate peas, but after that first bite, I forgot about my dislike and ate everything on my plate.
Service was mostly good. Our server forgot about us after the larger parties came in. She brought our bread but forgot about the butter. We even tried to start a conversation w/ the busboy about what kind of beans were used w/ the lamb shank but he didn't know.
A little tight especially with larger parties. You could possibly hear the conversations of the other tables, especially if you or they have had a little too much alcohol. -

The 4th St Bistro is the last of Reno's fine dining establishments. Once known for requiring formalwear, the economy has forced this upscale restaurant to allow dress-down quests (read: sandals and shorts). Sadly, the currently casual attire doesn't do the food its justice.
Meals at the 4th St Bistro are an experience, and one you'll probably never forget. The food is sublime, and the menu selection is diverse enough to please everyone. Expect to pay more for a dinner here, but expect to like your meal more than anywhere else.
If I think of details to fill this page, I'll come back and edit. Until then, I highly recommend the 4th St Bistro for your special dinner occasions. -

The finest dining in Reno-sparks area. Fresh and seasonal ingredients from Chef Natalie Sellers make memorable dishes.
it's hard not to order everything! The wine list (selected by Carol Wilson) is innovative and represents the most luscious choices.
Thank you, Carol and Natalie. -

My boyfriend and I went to 4th Street Bistro for Valentines Day.
everything was superb. We had a wonderful, memorable experience.
the server was a bit dull and it was obvious she didnt understand the dishes she was serving, but the food spoke for itself.
simply wonderful!
