This bar is my favorite spot in Williamsburg!! It's pretty close to my apt. and I've spent many a weeknight with friends splitting beer buckets and watching sports.

I don't have a TV so all of the nice HDTV's and the two huge projection screens would be enough of draw if they didn't also have great beer bucket deals. It's almost as cheap as getting beer from a bodega and watching games on your TV. Also the people who work here are super nice and will hook you up if you want to watch a specific game. I'm from the West Coast so I always have weird requests that probably no one else in the bar cares about but the bartenders are always happy to switch at least one of their screens over.

My only problem with the place is that sometimes it gets way too crowded and it sucks to watch a whole game standing up. Also it gets a little bro-y which sucks but hey it's a sports bar, not much you can do about that.

The worst sports bar cliches magnified and blasted in your face like a four alarm fire. Screaming midtown-transplants slam heinekens and laugh like hyenas while ponytail-clad women wearing work out clothes take shots of jose cuervo and complain about being bridesmaids.

I was prepared to give the place two stars because a bucket of import beer is only 12 bucks. That was before they changed the only television we were watching to the same channel that all other 11 TVs were on. When I asked if we could change the TV back to the game that we were watching, they wouldn't do it. We decided to leave, left our beers half full and our bucket unfinished, and went to Good Co. around the corner, a bar that's light-years ahead of this place.

I can find no redeeming aspect or reason to recommend 4th down other than if you're a social masochist. It's the most unenjoyable bar I've been to this year. If you're like me and enjoy good sports conversation and good beer in a chilled-out environment, try Good Co. around the corner.

I came here for the first time a few weeks ago before a show at the Music Hall. The Pens and Flyers were playing a do-or-die playoff game that I really wanted to watch and I was praying there would be one bar with a tv that would be playing the game. I looked through my Yelp app and couldn't find anything. As funny as this is, I googled "sports bar in Willamsburg Brooklyn" and 4th Down was the first place that came up.
My friends and I went down there, got a seat near the entrance that faced the two projector screens and thankfully, the Pens/Flyers game was the "game of the night". I made friends with the Pens fans who showed up and became mortal enemies with the Flyers fans but all in all, everyone was really cool.
The best part about this place was that there were tv's everywhere that were showing different games from various sports that were going on that night. There were basketball games, baseball games, and hockey games.
Drinks were pretty good and the bartenders were really cool. They don't serve food but they have menus for places in the area that deliver so my friends ordered burgers and wings that arrived in 20 minutes or less.
I also noticed arcade games in the back although I didn't really investigate them any further than just noting them as I walked towards the bathrooms.
I'm moving to the Manhattan area June 1st and I've recommended this place to a few friends who frequent Brooklyn. I'll definitely be stopping in for games and drinks this summer.

The bf pick this place randomly to have some drinks and watch the knicks game for his birthday.  He was like the reviews are decents....so here we go:

This is a good place to watch games, thou at one point I felt like I had some sort of ADD cause it was my head kept moving from tv to tv.  The bartenders and manager guy were really nice and servers was great.  We didn't play any of the games, but the backroom was packed with people playing games and having fun.  Drinks were pricey but the bucket beer special was good (starts at 5 for 16, depending on the beer and you can mix and match).  We grabbed food from the mexican place next door which became my saving grace because of the nasty arse bathroom at 4th down.

You get 3 stars because of the bathroom....it was so nasty and gross.  First of all...unisex bathrooms are never good, we had pee everywhere, on the floor, the toilet, etc...also the doors had no locks, some seem like someone kicked the lock out, etc....overall....it was just plain ole nasty.

O yeah, some of my friends got bug bites from the bar, not sure what that is all about...I'm glad I had some jameson in my system to kill anything that was trying to bite me.

Overall...good place, but seriously fix the bathroom situation, it would name this place awesome.

I absolutely love this place!  On non-sports nights, it's a really really chill bar that can be empty at times.  But it definitely gets bustling for big sports activities.  They have tons of seating, plenty of tvs, and a large area in the back full of games and perfect for parties.

In the back there's giant jenga, air hockey, pinball and a bunch of other stuff! And I don't think there's tvs back there - so if you just want to drink and don't care about the sports games, you can still do that!

The bartenders are AWESOME!  As is the owner!  He goes out of his way to accommodate your sports request.  During March Madness, one person wanted to watch an NBA game and the owner set-up a tv special for this person.

Everyone who works there is super friendly and every time I've been there, they could always handle the crowd.

I've gone here as a group and solo and have always been able to find a seat somehow.  They don't have a kitchen but you can order food in.  And everyone here is usually friendly.  I was able to make sports watching friends easily each time I went here alone.

This is more of a bottles/cans place and not so much with stuff on draft.  But they have a $6 beer+shot special and buckets of beer specials (i think a bucket of 5 bud light/high life for $14; with the most expensive bucket being of six point/brooklyn for $24 -- don't quote me on that!).  Oh and there's a $15 minimum on cards - so plan ahead.

The best Ohio State football bar in Brooklyn!

I mean... you can go to Blondie's or Tonic... but don't you want a closer spot than going to Times Square or the Upper East/West side??

    Enter 4th Down.

    1. It's one of the best Ohio State Buckeyes football bars around, and located in Williamsburg. I used to go to another sports bar down the street, which is still great, but 4th Down plays the audio for the buckeyes games... much better than listening to music and seeing 12 different screens of random games. So, I have a new favorite.

    2. Extremely friendly owners and bartenders... seriously, it's a rare find to run into people who are so genuinely nice and respectful. Love it!

    3. Great drinks... the Peak Autumn Seasonal was awesome, and they have great specials on buckets of beer.

    4. Food... they don't have their own, so order whatever you want... I recommend the white pie from Best Pizza... or some arepas from Caracas... or a burger at Dumont Burger... but there's many more options that deliver to the bar.

This is my new favorite spot... fantastic people, drinks, and the buckeyes game with the sound... really stoked on this place.

I came here for the first NFL game of the season.

    PROS
    - Unpretentious
    - Many flat-screen TVs, probably about 10
    - They have a projector too!
    - Cool, curved wooden tables on one side of the room
    - Pool table in the back room
    - A bucket of 5 cans for $12
    - Clean

    CONS
    - The projector wasn't working
    - No TV in the back room!!!
    - SUPER LOUD

I really don't enjoy having to talk loud to have a conversation with friends, but I guess that is inevitable when you're at a sports bar watching a game. I'm a bit confused about whether they serve food or you can get stuff delivered there, but I kept smelling delicious wings and nachos! As with other sports bar, you have to get here early to get seats/tables!

While on a quest to find a fun bar with decent happy hour specials, I walked by this place. Saw the sign advertising a bucket of beer for $12 and was sold. Not the pickiest of beer drinkers, I shared a bucket of
Modelo with a friend. 2 1/2 beers each for $6? Such a good deal! Definitely an ideal spot for a sports fan so I may have to come back during Basketball season (if there isn't a lock out).

Although honestly I'll sit at the bar next time. The stools at the tables in the front are not comfortable. My bum was numb when I left.

I have become a regular wknd visitor to this bar since joining a softball league that plays at McCarren Park and I will continue to be a regular of this bar long after the softball season ends.  Why?  "Why not?" is a better a question.  This bar has the friendliest staff/owner who remember your name and your order.  They are more than reasonably priced.  They do not offer food but you are more than welcome to bring your own/have delivered to bar.  The jukebox takes cash and credit card and has an amazing selection of tunes.  The back area offers pool, foosball, skeeball, and giang Jenga to name a few... AWESOME!  Flip cup and beer pong are also encouraged and welcome.  The front area has several tv screens and a projection screen.  The staff are more than happy to accommodate your sporting event.

    I love 4th Down!

The bartender was really cool before and after I threw a giant Jenga piece through their front window. I love any bar that enables my reckless behavior. It's not just their easy going attitude either. The drinks are cheap and free shots are plentiful so you'll be throwing shit through windows in no time.

This is a great sports bar. There are huge televisions everywhere. They have skeeball, pool, air hockey, a photo booth, and everyone's favorite drunk game Big Buck Hunter. Being a sports bar it would be nice if they had a kitchen but they make up for it with a variety of menus so you can order in. If you like the sports matches and cheap drinks you'll want to go to here.

Sports bars seem to be few and far between in Williamsburg. I guess hipsters don't do sports? I've been here a couple of times to watch games and have always enjoyed myself. They have TVs everywhere with every sport you could possibly want to watch on every TV. The staff is friendly, the beer is good, but there never seems to be enough seating. If you know you want to watch something - get to 4th Down early to mark your territory. Otherwise, it's standing room only and that's never as much fun.

This is far and away my new favorite bar in all of New York City.  The reviews are all completely accurate - the owner, Jeff, is absolutely amazing.  He's extremely friendly and makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.  I got there a bit earlier than my friend, and it felt like Jeff and I were old friends, chatting it up about everything from sports to iPhones.

In addition to the awesomeness that is Jeff the owner, drinks are ridiculously well-priced.  There is an entire list of beers that are only $3, and if you check in on Foursquare or "friend" 4th Down on Facebook, you even get your second drink for free.

There are televisions everywhere, playing pretty much anything you could ever ask for, and the back room has skee ball, Golden Tee (the golf game), a pool table, Big Buck Hunter, and some comfy looking couches. They don't serve food, but Jeff has local menus from spots that deliver, and they are completely amenable to you bringing in your own food.

I will absolutely be coming back to 4th Down again soon.

I haven't even been here yet, but I have to give props. I called to ask if they were going to be showing the Broncos' preseason game and the manager said yes. He called me back about an hour later to follow up just to make sure that I knew that it was not on national TV, so it wouldn't be on the big screen, but that they were subscribed to the NFL ticket, so they would be streaming it on one of the smaller TVs, but that quality could be an issue because of the streaming. That is just classy business practice!

I absolutely love this place! It is new so most nights it isn't very busy which is kind of nice but I hope business picks up enough so they stick around. This is a sports bar, not just a bar with a tv that shows occasional sporting events. Every game imaginable is on, they have plenty of tvs and are more than willing to turn to the game you want on least one of them. Also they will turn the sound on too!
The bar tenders are super nice and the owner Geoff is often around and is awesome. They also has arcade like games to play, air hockey, pool, skeeball, and pinball.
If you want to/love to watch sports this is the place to be!

Came here this past weekend for the first time, and boy am I glad that I did. I found, without question - my new favorite bar.  This was like finding a lucky pot of gold at the end of a rainbow on an island that's in the middle of an oasis, smack dab in the heart of a big, dry desert that's filled mostly with average bars.

Let me tell you why this place is so great. First, everything that's written in previous reviews is true:  it's big; in fact more spacious (multiple couches, tables, plenty of room at the bar, etc.), lots of hi-def tv's spread throughout (including at least two giant high-quality projection screens) all kinds of games (buckhunter, skeeball, pool, golden tee, foosball, etc.), and drinks at a cheaper price than you'll find at a bar in the middle-of-nowhere-Ohio ($3 beers -- including Molson Canadian, large "beer tubes" for 20-something dollars, different deals that land you a free shot).

And to top it all off, the crowd and the vibe is about as good as it gets. This is mostly because Geoff, the owner -- is the man.  You'll come, and he'll make you feel like you've been coming for years. Nicest guy in the world, quick with a joke, and if you're lucky, he might even kick your ass in Golden Tee.

Combine great people + unbeatable prices + sweet setup = please give me a sixth star Yelp.  This is what a watering hole is supposed to be like...

Check in on four square and get a buy one free. order a few drinks and the bartender will buy you a shot. the place is a little corny which is perfect for a sports bar. I love that it isn't some hipster version of a sports bar. mexican food is right next door and they let you bring it into the bar. also they actually play the sound of whatever game is on and not some arcade fire b side collection off of someones Ipod. Caught the NBA playoffs here this past weekend. The ambiance is unpretentious and the owner is a cool dude. Pool table in the back and a couple of other games including air hockey and foosball are nice options in case your team is getting killed or you're just not interested in the games being televised altogether. The absence of a kitchen isn't such a bad thing because there are plenty of good, affordable eats in the vicinity and the owner keeps a stack of menus. You can actually have your food delivered to you while you kick back and guzzle some suds. I'm definitely coming back here.
