I stayed here because I have stayed at the Victorian before, and it is way overpriced, and not walking distance to downtown. I also like how this hotel is small and quirky, totally Weaverville style. It is a good price too. Unfortunately, the night we stayed there were guys next door to us who were EXTREMELY loud and crazy. And we could hear every creepy word they were saying. They actually kind of frightened me, as they sounded drunk, and one sounded suicidal! I have family in town, so I could have totally stayed with them for free....
Anyway, the next morning I told the owner and he was really apologetic, and refunded my money, which I think I deserved, but it also shows very good integrity that he would do that so quickly.

In all, this Inn is a much better deal than the Victorian, it shows the style of Weaverville, and I think you should give it a try!

I fancy myself a roach motel connoisseur and have stayed here a couple times when passing through Weaverville.  I've never used the pool, and for the uninitiated, the coin operated ice machine actually works even if you don't have coins :)  I love how the rooms have a little microwave and fridge, so after a long drive - and let's face it, if you are laying over in Weaverville you probably had a long drive- you can pop in something from the local Tops market, kick back and watch food network before collapsing in exhaustion.  Don't forget to pick up a pastry at tops and kick back for a bit in the morning, since they have little coffee makers in the room as well.  The TVs are old little boxes, with a surprisingly good selection of channels, the rooms are shabby and outdated, but clean, and there is no "publically available" food on the property.  The wireless internet always chugs along fantastically.

If you are looking for a luxurious resort - this is NOT it, but it's a pretty sweet deal for $54 a night, and have always felt that I "overpaid" for what I got the few times the 49'er was full and I had to stay at the Weaverville Victorian.

Good- the deluxe suites are large, clean, and quiet.
Negative- the owner pretty much hates what he is doing.  The pool is closed because of a thick green layer of algae.  No continental breakfast as advertised, and hasn't been for over five years.  Owner's comment- "so put me in jail"  The beds are not great.  The ice machine is available in the parking area if you have coins handy.  Not a scenic location, just a roadside motel
Summary- good value if you pay less than $50 a night, I paid more.

Before 10 am, the housekeeping person had already tried twice to enter the room... on a Sunday morning.

The deluxe suite is totally worth it--it was only 95$ for this Best Western motel.  Big screen TV, DVD, jacuzzi, and even an electronic fireplace!! Walking distance to downtown and the Joss House.  Oh and wireless internet as well.

We almost didn't stay at this inn because we had read negative reviews but it was recommended to us by the Whitmore hotel owner (she doesn't take kids and we have two) so we booked a room for two nights anyway. We stayed in the deluxe suite, room 24 and it was great for the money. Spacious rooms, cozy little inn and within walking distance to the stores and restaurants and the two managers were super helpful and sweet.
