I scheduled 495 movers to do my move from Rockville to the Tyson's area. They were 45 minutes late, but made up for it in their customer service, speed, and careful handling of my items. They wrapped all of my furniture with blankets for free and just shrink wrapped my mattress for a small fee.
Of course, traffic was terrible heading south in the morning, but I was not charged extra travel time. My entire move was under 3 hours, but I agreed to pay the minimum anyways which is the 110/hr x 3 hours. I was not going to fight it as I agreed to that knowing.
The woman who handled my quote, Tyeisha, was great and dealt with my moving concerns and pre-move jitters. The quote was accurate and there were no surprises. The only thing they did not mention on their website (I did not see it at least) was a security deposit of $80.00. This is made when you confirm your move. It is not refundable which is the only downside.
I would use them again. -

I requested an online estimate from them. It was $640 for a 1 bedroom apartment move from Bethesda to Rockville on a weekday. MUCH higher than anything else in the area. I saw the email, along with the other email quotes from other companies that I had requested, and knew I wasn't going with them. And then the phone calls started. In two days, they called four times. I hadn't been at the phone the first three times, but after the third call and voice mail I sent them an email asking them to please stop with their harassing phone calls. Later on that day, I got another phone call and she told me that she was just doing her job because I had requested an online quote. I didn't want to just hang up on her, but she kept insisting that calling me persistently was completely ok. After I told her that I was going to leave a Yelp review detailing her phone behavior, warning people not to leave their phone numbers when requesting a quote, she became very nice and apologized for any inconvenience, and followed up with an email again apologizing.
So, basically, they're expensive, and once they get your phone number, they harass you until you mention yelp. -

I had the this company move my stuff from the POD complex in Manassas to my new apartment in Arlington VA. I spoke with several movers and these guys weren't the cheapest nor were they the most expensive.
We originally scheduled for 10:00am, but they called and asked if we could move earlier so we set the time for 7:30 am. The POD place is sort of hidden off the road, and both of our GPS units delivered us to the local police station about a half mile from the where we needed to be! So I cannot fault them for being late.
Three movers emptied my POD and loaded the truck quickly and efficiently. My stuff was already packed, and I had a some left over packing supplies which they used. They packed two sofa's by wrapping them with blankets and that plastic wrap stuff. The packing job was impressive, a much better job than I could have done myself. The price for packing the two pieces came out to $136 in materials. We discussed the price of materials and came away with something we could both live with.
When I move again I'll order supplies from http://Uline.com or Costco and use the movers expertise to pack and move my stuff.
I will use this company again on my next move in six months. They were reasonably priced, and treated my stuff well. Nothing was broken, they were late but I understood why because my GPS let me down too. They worked well together as a team and did not waste any time. My complaints were addressed in a reasonable manner.
Let's face it moving is stressful. Here are a few things I learned about movers. The movers insurance covers sixty cents per pound for damaged goods. Your renters insurance doesn't cover your stuff while it is being moved. If you have something dear to you pack it and move it yourself. Ask for extra insurance sometimes the mover will include it at no extra charge.
The movers are not slaves. Have some drinks and snacks around to keep them gassed up. For some reason movers like to work early in the day. So if your apartment building charges you to move in and out schedule the early times.
Ask if the people moving your stuff are employees of the company or temporary day laborers. If you aren't sure about how much stuff you have, and how much it will cost to pack it up, have the mover come out and take a look. They think about our stuff in terms of cubic feet and pounds. We think about our stuff in terms of family treasures, and replacement costs. Don't skimp on the packing materials. -

Super friendly and helpful! Gave me a free moving blanket because I called them in need of one, and wasn't close to a U-Haul. Will definitely use them when I move.
