This place has a very cool atmosphere.  It's decorated really cool, food is great for being your typical "bar food" and the drinks of course are awesome.

It doesn't seem to fit into the "hercules" area but once you walk in it takes you too a different place.

To top if all off, the service is phenomenal, especially from Kristen!

    Keep up the great work!

This is a nice kick-it spot.  I've been a few times to watch big games or just catch-up with one of my girlfriends.  I don't drink but it seems they have a nice selection and people seem to really enjoy the pours.  The thing I like most is the ambiance and the food.  I've had an awesome caesar salad here and they make the wings really crispy which I love.  There's certainly eye candy here too for the ladies.  just sayin.

why not 5 stars you wonder?  Same complaint as everyone else....service is SUPER SLOW.

44 Sports Lounge is a nice addition to this side of the East Bay. I'm not too savvy with sports, but friends enjoy this place so it's become a go-to spot. The food is reasonably priced, though my one suggestion is to add some vegetarian selections.
If you go, ask for Matthew. He's a very personable young person and will make sure you are taken care of.

I love 44 Sports Lounge. Mark gives back and is always hands on. There are always events going on at the lounge. Drink specials, fundraisers, special dining etc. At times there is alot going on at once. Live band, games on TV and an event all at once. Sometimes it's a bit overwhelming for me, but some folks like/love that. These are the times when service is slower. Maybe a popular sporting event is on and the service is slow as well. Possibly a general manager or bar manager will help improve this, I'm available :)  There is optional seating in booths, the lounge/sofas and the dining area. There is also an area for handicap at the bar! NICE! Nice bistro seating outside with heat lamps. There is also a fire pit outside with seating for you to watch the television above the front door! NICE AGAIN! I was hooked on the shrimp and fries for some time- MY FAVORITE! The ceasar salad and wings are great. All regualr sports bar food. The street tacos are just that so don't look for more. It was very easy to use my Yelp coupon- right off the iPad. I frequent this place to support local and I always see old friends meet new ones and have a GREAT time.

Not sure what 44 SL is trying to be: Sports Bar, Nightclub or restaurant?  It might be okay to catch the NBA Playoffs or as a dance club, it fails as a restaurant. Painfully slow service, mediocre food and stark decor. They'd be better off to give up on serving dinner, stick to 'Happy Hour' pub grub and sell 44 SL as a place to take in a game or dance the night away.

A friend told me about this place so I decided to stop by. My friend and I though the food and atmosphere were great. Our server Kristen took excellent care of us. She seems to know the true meaning of customer service, because she made us feel as if we were the only customers.   Overall I thought the place was great and will definitely go back.

44 is a great local place to go and get a drink and bite after work.  Before 44, we went into Pinole to chill after work.  A fun sports bar with lots of TVs, a couple of quiet booths in the corners, lots of comfy couches to sink into and even live music on some nights.  The prices are reasonable.

The only complaint is before we discovered Matthew, service can be a bit slow.  Hands down the best service comes from Matthew!  We always make sure to sit in his section now.  He is always quick to greet us and make sure that we have everything we need.  He makes sure to see if we want another round before we are finished with our current cocktail.

Try 44 and make sure to remember Matt's section is where it's att!!

As a Hercules local, it is nice to have somewhere to go hang out not too far from home.  Love the atmosphere and the mature mixed crowd.  The background music provides a nice vibe and does not interrupt conversation nor does the music interfere with the chosen sport that is showing on the many televisions.  My absolute favorite server is Kris.  She is extremely personable, attentive to her customers and seems to be able to manage to stay on par even when it is extremely crowded.

I've been here many times, and can honestly say its a great bar with awesome drinks and good food! As far as atmosphere goes, it is not at all what I expected from the area..super nice inside, and they also have a nice fire pit outside which drawed ME in. What really brings me back though is the service. I always recieve friendly, welcoming service. Raina is by far one of my favorites here though! Seems like she really enjoys what she does and does everything with a huge smile on her face! Its a guaranteed good experience when she serves me and my friends. I will definitely keep coming back :)

I love 44 Sports Lounge. My favorite time to come is during the week when the regulars are there. Everybody knows each other and it is so welcoming to walk in and see your "44Family"... The weekends are good too, especially now that there is a dj on Friday nights, and the jazz band on thursdays rocks! My favorite food to get is the Cajun chicken pasta or the catfish slider, or the teriyaki wings.. Yummm. But if I'm trying to go heathy I get the turkey patty and substitute the fries for a salad.  Definitely stop by The 44!!!

Went here on a Sunday to catch a few football games.  There was no waiter/host, and only 1 bartender who had no qualms about telling all the patrons how upset he was about this.  Service was absolutely horrible and we had to wait over 20 minutes for some wings.  It wasn't until the owner arrived, who was a very nice man and the only reason I'd give this establishment 2 stars instead of 1, that service became reasonable.  The apps the we did receive were actually pretty good.

We came here around 10ish, last night. It was my first time here.  I didn't know what to expect.  After all, it is in Hercules.

The crowd was laid back and mature.  I was happy that there were no teenyboppers to be found :) As for the food, it was mediocre.  It wasn't unbelievably good, but drinks were decent.  I ordered a regular mojito and a pineapple mojito. For 4 drinks, and 3 appetizer our bill came to $55, which is pretty good!

For the most part, it's a cool local spot to chill at with good company!  I definitely had a good time hanging with the girls :)  I will most likely return very, very soon!

Imagine my happiness when this place finally opened up- and even had extra seating when they took over the place next to it, but every time I pass by this place, it's empty except for big game days like the world series and the super bowl.  So after reading some reviews and seeing that some people liked the catfish sliders and wings, I tried a variety of appetizers/entrees with a few of my friends including the drinks.  I'm sad.  This is a hard thing to do especially when you like food so much.  All in all- it's typical boring American food which not a lot of flavor, maybe too much salt (or not enough of it).  I really want to love this place but until they make better food I'm not coming back.

But you know what? I thought.. hey.. i can just DRINK here and not eat... but their drinks are over priced for what they are.  I'm not a person that orders fancy drinks- vodka tonic, gin tonic, cranvodka, crown on ice... those are the easy peasy drinks that I usually order but besides the crown on ice, they're typically watered down, and their happy hour is 5 dollar drinks but it's only worth it if you're ordering cocktails.  Unfortunately I'm not a cocktail kinda gal since sweet drinks are gross.  I read the reviews seeing that the drinks were "strong" or had a "kick" to them and now I'm thinking that I must be some kind of alcoholic because the drinks I had were more watery than strong.

The other thing that gives this place a 2 star review was the fact that the service was really slow when it's busy.  I took me a few times coming here to review this place thinking that the food and service was a fluke but unfortunately it wasn't.

I'd like to come by here again during a non-busy time sometime in the future- hopefully they come up with something more creative than the food they have now.

Beware! When it is busy, the service is sloooooow... I think that is just due to the fact that they don't have many people working there; I only saw one waitress. They need more waiters and bartenders, at least on busy nights. Other than that our evening was pretty enjoyable.

This was my second time going there.  I didn't really have much to eat this time except for the fries - I suggest the sweet potato fries over the seasoned fries; they are much tastier! The first time I went was when they first opened for happy hour. I had garlic wings, I think, and those were delicious!

The cocktails were quite effective. I only had one Purple Cadillac and I was good for the rest of the night. It's nice to finally have a lounge in this area that is approachable and welcoming. And actually it's a lot nicer than other lounges that I would have to drive far to get to. The staff was super friendly - the owner came to our table and greeted us when we used our "1 free well drink" coupon for checking in at Yelp.

The design of the place is contemporary and I think the front of the place was designed well, but not the dining room. The tables are just placed on the floor offering no kind of privacy. Also the chairs are not very loungey chairs - I need somewhere to put my arms when I start buzzing. They should add some booths or change the chairs. I don't know if I would want to sit on the couches they had their either; they seemed low and long and it would be like laying down if I sat there, but I can't really say because I never sat there, so yeah, just add some booths. It would also be nice if the bar was bigger to offer more bar seating around the TVs.

I think it's pretty awesome that they have Happy Hour on the weekends. I will definitely be back to try that out soon!

Great potential but focus is lost. Started better than present, clientele has challenges to date . Food needs help, along way from the term gourmet which has been associated with the fair by owner,

Can recover fast if Owners or Management would do more to respect and appreciate locals which actually care about the establishment and its owners...

Price point out of balance for the area and what the venue offers. General promo no feel of personal touch...

I will never ever go back and I am telling everyone that I know. I went there ordered a $10 cheeseburger that came with fries that I substituted for a ceasar salad. So my burger came with peppercorn cheese...wtf? who does that without giving you the option of regular american or cheddar cheese and the so called ceasar salad was iceburg lettuce and tomato..now Im no chef but I know damn well that is not a ceasar salad so I asked where is the parmesan cheese and croutons...they looked dumb founded like I was making an unreasonable request to get what I ordered and who n the hell puts tomatoes on a ceasar salad???? So I tried the burger but It was ruined because of the cheese so I sent it back and also asked for the fries instead of the salad since a ceasar salad it was not...the waiter got an attitude, slammed through the kitchen door as he took the burger back then when he came back out he said the manager said if I want fries with that burger I have to pay for them...WTF!!! Im african american and I swear when I try to patronize black business I ALWAYS GET BAD SERVICE AND HIGH PRICES 90% OF THE TIME and I am a very polite customer because Ive done customer service and I know how it can be sometimes!!!! I DONT CARE IF IT IS A NICE LOOKING LOUNGE I work to hard for my money to be treated like SHAT when Im already over paying!!!! F**K YOU 44 SPORTS LOUNGE! I HOPE U GO OUT OF BUSINESS!!!!  I'll keep going to pear street cafe where the service is great and the food is even better!!!!!

So I read a ton of reviews and decided to check this place out for happy hour with some friends. The food was really really good for this place to be in Hercules (super unexpected lol).

    Lemon Pepper Wings (great)

Cat Fish Sliders have to get the sauce on the side though(great great also thing to remember they aren't on the happy hour menu)

    Drinks (so Good!)

Service (OMG ITS SO FREAKIN SLOW!!!!!!!!)

Ambiance (I loved it the atmosphere was perfect for me! Laid back, social, mixed crowd, and very busy!)

Advice get there early!!!! (please! or it may ruin your time!) Service is extremely slow, but the food is very good and the drinks pack a punch, great ambiance and it's local!!!

    I would definitely go again

Last Sunday, My sis and I decided to try the only place remotely poppin' in Hercules, CA...44 Sports Lounge. We arrived around 3 pm just in time for happy hour and all of the drinks were $5! After our heavy-pouring, steaming hot bartender served us our cosmos, we enojyed (to say the least) our deliciously flavorful carne asada tacos. I couldn't resist ordering them because they were only $5 for 2. Ain't nothin' like a good deal. 44 Sports Lounge is a cute, laid-back place to get a well-made drink.

Update 01/14/11: I had the catfish sliders. They melt in your mouth. Another star for you 44!

We've  been to 44 several times for drinks and appetizers and decided to go on a Sunday morning and try the chicken and waffles ($9.95) which they serve until 1pm.  The chicken wings are usually pretty good, but on this particular morning, they were slimy on the inside and very bland on the outside.  Paired with a waffle that could have come from the freezer, we should have waited for happy hour and gotten the SAME wings for $5 and forget the waffle!

Next item ordered:  Caesar Salad with LIGHT dressing and shrimp.   The salad was drenched in dressing, the lettuce was not fresh but the shrimp were wonderful (spicy, but really good) although they charged me $4 for 3 shrimp!

Tacos for $5 were a huge disappointment. The single tortilla that the taco was made of crumbled and we had to eat it with a fork..  Suggestion:  use 2 tortillas for each taco, offer salsa for the pathetically small serving of chips and maybe a little sour cream!

The Happy Hour kicks ass and there drinks have a kick to them. I had the sliders with were juicy, well seasoned and flavorful. I tried there lemon/tangy BBQ wings, while they are tasty, they were really small so I wouldnt order them again.

The wait staff is friendly and the music selection is definitely for the Grown and Sexy...Luther Vandross, Maze, Angie Stone, Ledisi, and Maxwell. If they had a dance floor I wouldve been on that bad boy slow grinding! lol

Loving this place and the Wednesday Karaoke with Le Karaoke Queen is the perfect event for the night. The best KDJ in the Bay Area!! LeKaraoke Queen. They even have line dancing as well as singing. The DJ is engages and is interactive with customers. There are so many songs; the song book is huge and up to date. Sound system in this place is great. The crowd is mixed and the singers were good. The employees are also really nice.

The food is great and the Bartenders are extremely friendly and very attentive. The atmosphere and setting is perfect for all events. The furniture and decor is very up to date and inviting (couches, private boots, etc).

This is one of the hottest places in the East Bay. Check out Wednesdays;  but if you plan to sing or want to sit you should get there early no later than 7:00 pm because it gets packed.

Well...the place is nicely furnished HOWEVER their booths are tiny, like VERY tiny...it's nice that you can see the TVs from almost anywhere inside including the outside patio area.
We ordered the chicken wings and catfish sliders. The chicken wings were nothing special, tastes just like the Costco ones out of the bag. The catfish slider sauce was good, but nothing that I'd go gaga over.
For a very nice looking trendy place, their food needs allot of help, esp since allot of the items seemed to be very overpriced.
On the upside, the service was great and prompt, but if i were looking for somewhere local to have a drink and some food, I'd rather go to Safeway and buy a bag of wings and a case of beer. Maybe I expected too much of such a pretty place...

I'll start off with its a very nice place inside. Great ambiance. Comfy couches and chairs or you can sit at the bar. So my friend and I walk in. Not alot of people its early 530 - waitress is standing waiting for bartender to get her some drinks but he's busy messing with the TV, for like 5 mins. Neither of them greet us. The waitress looked like she was in a bad mood. Another customer walks and sit next to us and hes not even greeted. Finally the bartender walks over ,DOESNT smile and just asked what we would like. Not a very good way to get your tips buddy. I work in the industry of waiting on customers so I know a lil about the game. The place started to get pretty crowded for a Wed. nite. They have karaoke on this night. The couple of people we heard were pretty good. I really liked the fish taco's they had totaly recomend those they could use a lil more garnish (avocodo-salsa- tomatoes ) but the flavor was really good. I will probably come back its a really nice place in side but the wait staff need to work on their friendlness. I like to go to a place I feel welcomed in.

After waiting a few months for opening, I finally had a chance to visit 44 Sports Lounge.  What a great addition to the area!
The place looks great and happy hour specials include $1 Bud and half price appetizers.  This place has a cool lounge ambiance with booths with their own LCD TVs.  Also a firepit in the patio area.  The menu is mostly sports lounge type food and I tried the wings but they were about average.  I'll update this review after trying more plates.  I didn't give it 5 stars because I thought the food was a little pricey.
For sleepy Hercules, this place is THE new hang-out for sports!

It was ok. Everything the yelpers before me mentioned was present (cramped booths, small venue). As regards the small venue, our waitress informed us that the owner will be renovating the space next door to add additional booths and lounge space. As for the food, the spicy shrimp were seasoned well, had a nice kick to them, and were served in a pretty sizable portion. The Kobe sliders were good as well, and the fries were awesome. Two things that weren't so good: My wife's quesadilla was bland and had way too many onions in it, my chicken was not good. It seemed that it was boiled and then the outside was browned.

Also, one last thing they may want to fix, during the course of the night it seemed like there was this rank, rotten egg smell in the area we were sitting in, which made my friends and I implore someone to excuse themselves, however we later found out it was the vent system that was rerouting air from the bathrooms into the area we were sitting in!! The manager comped us cheesecake for dessert as his way of saying sorry, but I think my one visit here was enough.

Just expanded! The spot is a lot bigger now, many more tables. Happy hour everyday, tons of HD tv's, good wings and sliders. Prices are very fair for happy hour including 2.50 draft beers.

I like the lemon pepper wings, and the seasoned fries. Full bar available too. Probably going to be a Sunday football hangout for me this season!
