Came here because I had an hr to kill before the movie at the theatre across the street started. Glad I did. It has a nice, cozy feel to it. I assume Starbucks was like this at one point before it became a corporate giant.
I dont drink coffee. I usually get green iced tea. I saw they had smoothies on the menu. Ordered a mango/ pineapple smoothie and a blueberry muffin. Both were good. Smoothie was thick, but tasted good. The muffin was soft and warm. They heated up for me. Wish I had gotten it when it came out of the oven.
I will go back again. Want to try those sandwiches they had on thr menu. I recommend this coffee shop. -

The only times I've gone here to grab something to eat is either before a moive or during my hair session next door at Zorina's. I usually get a bagel for my daughter and I grab a muffin. I have tried the Chicken panini and that is also good.
Kinda of slow service but overall good food and deserts. -

Nice little coffee spot in the downtown area. Caffe Mocha is my favorite along with a breakfast sandwich, before or after I hit the farmers market is a good time to visit.
The coffee used has a good flavor, staff are friendly and help you with a smile. Not to much that it's weird. Sandwiches are handmade, and well made. Indoor & outdoor sitting. Looks very busy on the weekend "nights". Movie theater across the street. -

Hidden gem just across the street from the movie theater! They have all these delicious looking pastries, as well as a vast selection of coffee drinks, boba, and hot chocolate. They also offer sandwiches and paninis late night. The only knock I have on this coffee shop is that the service is a bit slow. But for two people working a whole coffee shopk, it's understandable.

The best place to grab a bite before or after a movie across the street at the Kriokorian Theaters. Very reliable and a mom and pop operation.
Favorite things to devour at 3rd Street:
- Chicken Salad Sandwich on a croissant (original recipe!)
- Vegetarian Bliss Sandwich
- 3rd St. Mocha
- White Thunder
This place has been around for over ten years, has FREE WIFI, great music, and comfy couches. Keep the small businesses alive and be sure to check out this place! -

Stopped by here after catching a movie last night and it was a welcome visit. The service was fast and accurate, which is saying a lot for a deli place. I ordered the veggie sandwich, with a salad and water Which obviously brings up the point: well, that's not much for them to screw up. Which is true, but the sandwich was great. Hummus!
Their is a large variety of snacks and the menu has a good assortment of items on it. A great spot and if I unfortunately happen to find myself in Downey again, this is likely to a place where I'll stop by for a quick snack. -

Man. I love this cafe.
Except for the corner with the couches, the decor sucks. The place could be a lot more inviting and comfortable but its not so ill suck it up.
The drinks on the other hand are delicious. I had their mocha. amazing I also had their iced green tea. Made from real tea bags. Even more amazing. Theyre cookies are pretty great too.
I just read the review by Chloe C. and its convinced me to go back and try their lunch specials. I remember looking at their food menu and thinking it all looked amazing. I was also surprised at the vegetarian options. you dont see that a lot around here.
I too will make a note on the "young crowd." A group of what looked like 12 year old girls walked in, were RUNNING and CHASING each other AROUND THE TABLES while I was there (w-t-f!? there went the 5 stars) . Gosh, that was annoying. So expect that, especially if youre going on a weekend night.
I dont remember whether or not there was wifi...
Regardless, I'll be going back. -

My wife and I enjoy this place. It's got a great atmosphere that almost feels like someone's living room. The furniture is soft and comfortable and there are some mags hanging around to enjoy while you drink a chai latte.
Once you get inside, if you make your way to the far right hand corner of the room, you'll find a wall board full of business cards, which is just fun to look over.
3rd Street Coffee only irritated me in one area: music. It's a coffee house, right? Why does Britney Spears and every other pop sensation ring in my ear? And so loud at that?
Sigh. Almost guys.
Still, a great place to hang out with friends. I wouldn't sit inside if you plan on reading or studying, but it's still a nice little place. -

Not my first choice for a coffee/snack place, but definitely worth a visit if you don't want to pay crazy theater prices for movie grub. It's right across the street from the Krikorian Theater, and there are a couple of nice couches if you're waiting a while for your movie to start and want to chill someplace other than the theater lobby.
Try their muffins. Chocolate death, yum. -

This is a very cute cafe. Its kind of hidden so I would've never known it was here. It is open til 12 so it's a nice place to grab a bite to eat after work or just to unwind at the end of the day. The crowd was pretty young high school children. Probably all waiting to watch New Moon.
Well they have variety of teas and blended drinks. They have a cheap lunch special for about 7.00. It comes with a sandwich, soup and a can of soda. I missed the lunch but I did try the vegetarian sandwich. It was delish! It has cream cheese and hummus! Even for the non-vegetarians..its a MUST TRY! it was about 6.00 so you'll have to come back during lunch hours..because for 7.00 it's a steal! =D The worker and manager are very friendly too. I'll definitely be returning!
Try their strawberry bars. It's addicting. Got two to-go!! -

I adore 3rd Street Coffee! It is, by far, my favorite coffee shop in the Downey area. I have been going there since they opened (must be over ten years ago) and have not had a single bad experience.
The coffee drinks are delicious! I usually stick to the Blended Vanilla Latte Lite which is sugar-free and fat-free. Super-addicting and great if you're on a diet and want a treat. I also recommend the White Thunder, the Third Street Mocha, and the Vanilla Bean blended drinks.
I agree- the lunch specials are very good! I usually get the Vegetarian Bliss Sandwich which is such a creative and delicious combination of ingredients: cream cheese, hummus, avocado, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers. I usually get two lunch specials to go- one for lunch and one for dinner! Best to-go lunch deal for vegetarians in Downey! :)
The sofas are super-comfy, and I love that they have all the celebrity gossip magazine out there for patrons. The decor is very cute and just what I look for in a cafe. They've also installed one of those tv's that gives updates on the news, politics, weather, sports, astrology, etc.
The owners are incredibly sweet and nice. They have been the owners since the beginning and have truly done a great job. The cafe is consistently busy with plenty of regulars who know how good this place is.
My only gripe is that their wi-fi is really inconsistent. If I need to use wi-fi, I'll go to Starbucks or Coffee Bean. -

When I'm in Downey I love coming to this cafe for either a sandwich or a latte. There's a variety of assorted drinks and pastries. The menu is good and not expensive at all. They have free Wifi which makes it a plus.
