Review from Chris J.
1 year-ish update, but I was out for a couple months with a cranky gallbladder.
About a year, 35 pounds and a few inches off my waist later (been punching new holes in my uniform belt), I'm still standing. Classes are practical; you'll learn techinques ABCD and combine them to combo E. Somewhat like algebra, but none of this "solve for x" or "factor"...more like "do a two-hand pluck and an simutaneous knee to the groin". Brutal, effective and fairly easily learned; doesn't matter much if your a 120# girl squaring off with 240# me...you kick someone in the nuts and they'll go down.
They have a new-ish progression system; you used to have to test to advance in rank (as well as attend a pre-test class and pay a fee, but I couldn't test as I work Saturdays) but now they have a card-based system. You get your card from the file, bring it to the instructor, they initial it and when you've taken enough classes, you advance. I'm thinking they have mandatory testing at the higher levels but this way folks that have weird days off can actually advance (also proabably a good client rentention technique).
Classes, not just Krav and Strike Lab, but the Crossfit (need to do more of this) and Bootcamp are very synergistic; you get in shape with Crossfit, which makes some of the Krav techniques easier and the Strike Lab will fine-tune your striking skills which make you more precise in Krav.
Just be careful, people can get hurt (I've bruised knees, elbows and knuckles) and it's not uncommon for folks to get headbutted (gal got a nice knot tonight).1 Previous Review: Show all »

I love you, 360. I've been training here since July of 2010 and it's been the experience of a lifetime. In a time when committing to an exercise regime was a painful thing for me, Krav Maga, Bag class, and Fight/Strike Lab made it easy for me to commit to 10 to 12 hours of training per week. I've since lost about 20 pounds, regained my self-confidence and boosted my self-esteem.
Krav Maga is highly practical, easy to learn, and FUN if you put in the training. I've trained in multiple disciplines in this point, and the one thing I will always be thankful for: they have instilled in my emotional/muscle memory that in a life or death situation, nut-kicking, eye-gouging, and the terrorizing of another human being is perfectly acceptable. Something you will never hear as acceptable in Boxing, Muay Thai, or Jiu Jitsu (as awesome as they are in their own respect).
360 opened my mind up to all that my body is capable of, for training there is what ignited my desire to challenge my body, try all sorts of new things, and BELIEVE that I am capable. I've met a whole network of awesome people and as a "life-timer" I'm excited to be tied to this gym and plan to continue training.
The location is perfect, slightly hidden, plenty of parking, and spacious so that multiple classes can be held at once. I give them 4 stars, it would be 5 if I felt comfortable training barefoot on the mats. When I started, you had to wear special training shoes (that never touched dirty floor), or train barefoot. Since then people have begun to wear running shoes on the mats and it makes me question the sanitary issue. =/ Sorry guys, don't hate me.
Anywho, overall: This place is amazing, great martial art, great environment, and great people. To address my one complaint: it is an easy fix on their part (prohibit shoes), but you can also just suck it up (as I've done) and wear shoes (or Vibram Five Fingers). -

The classes are good, but be careful with their billing company ASF International.
They will not allow to cancel your membership even after you complete the contract.
In their records I'm enrolled until 2039!! I have called them emailed sent letters and nothing.
360 you should not use this company, as it reflects poorly on you. -

My home away from home. Where I get the crap beaten out of me day in and day out.
I started out in the bootcamp classes a year and a half ago. I was a saggy, doughy version of myself, and had nightmares before the first day that the class would consist of tight-bottomed soccer moms in matching sports bras doing way too many reps with baby weights. Even the dude who answered the phone, Jesse, sounded buff. I was pretty sure they would eat me alive, and then laugh about it later.
Turns out, no one there wears a sportsbra unless its appropriately covered by a t shirt, preferably with an agressive slogan on it. (Don't get me wrong, sportsbras are pretty necessary here. But fashion, not so much.) There aren't any soccer moms, as far as I can tell, but a good mix of men and women, from beginner to strong-as-an-ox. And Jesse, sure, he's about as buff as his voice indicated, but he's also the most knowledgeable and encouraging coach I've ever had. Not in a "way to go" sort of way, but in a "I know you can do more stop being a pansy" sort of way. And that works for me.
So in bootcamp you're constantly switching it up, surprising your muscles, and doing insane things with weights as big as you think you can handle. For the first week or so, I strongly considered wearing a diaper fulltime, as I was so sore I could barely get my pants down and up again.
But when I got a little better at bootcamp, I figured I'd try crossfit. After a year of doing it, I'm still excited when I am capable of doing the workout "as prescribed." They're just that hard. I am so much faster, so much stronger than I used to be.
But it wasn't until last fall when I summonsed the gumption to try Krav Maga. Holy crap. Addictive. Emotional. Violent. Yes, I had to be taught how to choke someone because I sincerely didn't have a clue, but now I have every confidence in the world that I could send someone's nuts up through their throat using my fists and feet. Its satisfying, and practical.
The people are awesome. We get all types. I'm inspired every day by the people working out next to me. We push each other to work harder, and then tally our bruises together afterward.
The instructors are awesome. All of them. And they're serious about technique and skill. Rest assured, you're not going to be taught anything but the most precise and current Krav skills- this is not "Cardio-Krav 101." Alan, the owner, is the highest ranking Krav practictioner in the US. And he's a perfectionist when it comes to who he allows to teach at his school.
Give it a try, but be warned. 360 Krav Maga will suck you in. And suddenly you'll be trying to figure out how you can work 3 different hour-long classes into your daily schedule. It might be the end of you. -

Over a year later, and I love this gym more than ever. Forget nine hours a week! At one point I was coming in closer to twenty!!! For me, that's insane. I'm the type of girl who uses her 24 hour fitness membership two times a year, so this type of work out schedule is a miracle for me. I hate exercising, so any place that can motivate me to get my butt in gear this often is a God sent! And it's fun too!!! What more can you ask for?
I took six months off due to an injury (non-gym related), and was really worried about coming back in. However, all my trepidations were totally unnecessary. The trainers, the students, even the owner himself welcomed me back with open arms, modifying routines and motivating me to push harder all with friendly smiles and warm encouragement. The people here are so great, it's almost hard to believe.
I can't speak for other gyms, but I know that I've found a home here at 360. :)Listed in: My Neighborhood

Self Defense courses are for women, right? At least that's what one would think by reading all of the course descriptions out there. "This class is designed for women, but all are welcome!" Ha! Yeah right! No self respecting man would sign up after reading that. It conjures up images of Bobby Hill screaming "That's my purse!" right before he kicks his attacker in the nuts. Mind you, a ton of nut kicking goes on in Krav Maga. It is, after all, the most effective area to attack if defending yourself against a man. But there are also a ton of other techniques designed to defend yourself against someone that wants more that just your purse or wallet. The training you will receive here is designed for men and women, and will help you be more prepared for the worst imaginable situations. It is for when you are confronted by multiple attackers, when your assailant lunges at you with a knife, or when someone has their hands around your neck and doesn't want to let go until you are lying dead on the ground. Sound intense? That's the point.
Now a typical session at most gyms goes like this: you show up, smile at the receptionist at the front desk as you check in, go do the same workout that you did yesterday or last week, then leave without ever saying much to anyone. If you had a long day at work and don't feel like pushing hard that day, you take it easy; if you show up at all. Eventually your body gets used to working the same muscles everyday, you get bored, and you stop going. Here it is different. If you don't show up for a few days, everyone asks where you've been. If you drag ass during training, the instructor will notice and call you on it. If you are having trouble with a technique, they will work with you until you get it right. If you recently have been training hard and you advance in level, you'll get high fives and congratulations on your way in. The training is different each day, and so your body never adapts completely to it. After nearly six months, I still often wake up sore. I know I am building useful strength, and not just focusing on my beach muscles. And as a result, I have the best body of my life. Funny how it works out that way.
Don't be put off by the seemingly steep price tag attached to membership. Sure, you can probably purchase an entire year at Ballys for the cost of just a few months here, but what will keep you motivated to keep going? You definitely won't receive the high level of personal instruction that you'll receive here, and you won't learn how to fight! It's worth every penny. -

I had wanted to take a self-defense workshop for years and finally decided it was time. I started my process of researching martial arts places on Yelp. I came across a place that got rave reviews but the name of 360 Combat Club was intimidating to me (I envisioned underground boxing with guys betting on cockfights in the corner) so I ignored it. The next day I went to breakfast with a friend and told her about wanting to find a workshop. She too was interested and had seen a poster for a women's self-defense workshop at a place she passed all the time. We went to check it out on the way back to my apt. Lo and behold: 360 COMBAT CLUB!! We ended up talking to a trainer and, less than two hours after throwing out this idea to my friend, I was signed up for an "intro" class of Krav Maga. Mind you, I still had no idea what the hell I had signed myself up for! I know Kyle told us but I was so preoccupied with realizing this wasn't the gym experience I had tried (and failed) so many times in the past. I was a bit overwhelmed by how far beyond my comfort zone this was going to be since I would be seen and noticed which, at the time, was the last thing I wanted. Yet, from that intro class, I knew it was a scratch that had waited a long time to be itched!!
Since becoming a member 4 months ago, committing to 3 or 4 classes a week has been no problem (I try to add more when schedule permits) and am proud of myself after every single one. Most of this is due to that "being noticed" aspect that I was hesitant of in the beginning. Yes, the trainers push you but they often (or at least in my case) are trying to encourage you not to be too hard on yourself! They want you to get it, they want you to do well, and they want you to improve. The last thing they want is for you to get discouraged. On top of all that, everyone (staff and members) are genuinely nice and are supportive when a new person comes in. Everyone is there to help and work with you! It's amazing! You will not regret giving it a try! -

Great place to train on so many levels. Everyone there is awesome, positive and encouraging for your athletic and self defense success. The space is large and positioned well for the different classes. I personally enjoy the Krav Maga classes most and the bag class second. It's an awesome workout and gives you confidence on so many more levels than a regular workout gives. With your membership you get wraps, a t-shirt and a mouth guard. Gotta buy your own gloves and any other extras you might want/need. They also offer Muay Thai and a ton of different educational seminars throughout the year.

Best place ever! All the instructors are great, the classes are designed well, the location is good, the schedule is amazing, and the new building is awesome!
I trained here for almost a year and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Since I moved I've noticed how bad people's technique is and am so thankful I learned from the best at 360.
You will feel comfortable your first day no matter what your experience level is and after a few weeks you'll have some new good friends.
I'd love to try and get back there when ever my life lets me!
Thank you! -

Kick ass place. I love it and it can easily take over my life if I didn't have school and what not. Great instructors, nice students, over all excellent place to train. Not to mention the crossfit, and the tustin location.
