This is my al-time favorite place for a casual Sunday brunch in Sacramento.  It has a neighborhood feel to it, and the service is very friendly and efficient.  They have an excellent bloody mary, and the brunch is simple and delicious.  There is also outdoor seating that is covered and perfect when the weather is mild.

When I am in the mood for a fattening, delicious panini for lunch I opt for the rainier - chicken with mayonaise and carmelized onions.  All of the paninis are delicious, as is their chop chop salad with creamy vinigarette.  It's the perfect place when you are in the mood for comfort food.

I work about 2 blocks from 33rd Street Bistro and I'm in there something like 3 or 4 times a week.  I've been going there since the day they opened.  There's probably no dish they've ever cooked that I haven't eaten at some point, and I frequently order the "special", which is not on the menu.  I've never once had a bad meal in this place.

I'm especially fond of the salads - creative and tasty with good, fresh ingredients.  If you're avoiding carbs, try the Mediterranean chicken salad - a great lunch or even dinner all by itself.  If you're looking for something a little more substantial try one of the pizzas or the meatloaf.

The wine list is fairly short but quite adequate.  This place is called "Bistro," remember.

Everyone is friendly and the atmosphere is casual and relaxed.

Highly recommended.

OK, everyone is forewarned: this is another one of those I-have-to-give-this-place-4-stars-even-though-I-wa nt-to-give-it-2-because-my-dad-likes-it-and-I' ve-had-a-5-star-experience-4-times-out-of-a-possi ble-65 reviews.

I used to live in a shoebox-sized studio about three blocks away from this place so there is of course some nostalgia at play here as well. You know-I used to walk here with every guest I had at that place. Memories. I'd give them each about one star but I digress. Except for one occasion that got 5 bright yellow stars. Anyway, about the actual restaurant.

When you get in the bistro, it is probable that you will not be able to get a seat at the bar unless you're alone. The bar is really not to scale with the rest of the restaurant. Aren't there some industry-wide accepted proportions/ratios of diners to drinkers or drinkers to diners? There are about 6 seats at the bar (minus the one some random employee is forever sitting in, closest to the door, where I always want to be, with the least number of people I don't know sitting by me as possible.) There are about 21 tables that seat an average of 4 people. (allow a 5-table margin of error). 21 x 4 is 84 which gives us a 6 drinker to 84 regular diner ratio. These numbers make it likely that I solely will make an ass out of myself in front of at least 50 people that are sober.

As a side note to that major point, there is a weird sidebar that I would never sit at. You'll see it when you get there. It is probably the choice seating of freaky weirdos and/or writers of fiction. No likey. Remodel that and make more money-guaranteed. Whatever.

Aside from the weird half bar, a disgusting (albeit intermittent) fly problem when the sun is out, and a select few bad-attitude-driven career servers; the food is good, the help is helpful, and ... my dad likes it (automatic two-stars). If you don't like your food, BTW, the service staff will fix it with no issue in the most efficient manner possible, even when the server is a total bitch otherwise.

So in short, this place  is good enough for all of your judgmental family members, co-workers, and friends: It has a nice hum that drowns out all you don't want to hear, satisfying fare, and there's always something to bitch about. It's human, (and my dad likes it)! 4 stars!

My girls and I had our CSUS grad breakfast here and it was very yummy. I ordered a breakfast panini and had a mimosa with it....the food was hot and fresh plus you can tell they don't skimp on the quality of their ingredients.  The service was 5 stars and the restaurant very clean. The atmosphere is kind of blah....   I guess you would consider the menu a little more upscale... I remember seeing smoked salmon on the breakfast menu which I guess excites many....

enjoy!

Whenever I get the urge for panini, I head here.  My absolute favorite is the Puget Sound, which is a decadent combination of crab, shrimp, artichoke, and Tillamook cheese melted to gooey perfection.  I don't even want to think about how many calories are in it, which is why I save it as an occasional treat, but oh my, how I adore it.  Comfort food squared.

In the winter I'll order their french onion soup, which is delicious.  Last night our table split an order of sweet potato fries.  They were okay - a little thin and kind of limp.  That style works with regular potatoes, but I think sweet potatoes need a thicker cut.  Minor complaint, though.  They came with three yummy dipping sauces: peach ketchup, aioli mayo, and blue cheese.

Ambiance is nice - upscale casual.  Service is generally fast and friendly.  It's a good place to come for a bite to eat prior to an evening out.  Last night we only had an hour to eat, so skipped drinks and dessert, and were out the door in plenty of time.

My Fav breakfast place, when I need comfort I come here. Great staff, great drinks even better food. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
They have a great southwest scramble. they do perfect poached eggs too, so try the smoked brook trout. We have two small kids and they a very accommodating. Sometimes all we order is a glass of wine and we never feel like that isn't okay!
Try there other place Bistro 33rd on 16th for a fun night out too... fab criss cross fries!

Why do I like 33rd Street Bistro? Raspberry Mojitos. That is enough for me-- this might be my favorite drink ever. No place seems to know how to make this as good as 33rd Street Bistro.

Beyond that, I think the normal dining experience here is kind of hit or miss. Here are my thoughts based on the 1,243,988 times I've been here:

First of all, it seems that no matter what time of day you go, there is a wait to be seated. Every time I go here, I throw my gameboy advance in my bag because I know I'll be waiting.

Second, their brunch IS off the hook. I love love love their brunch menu, but it isn't very diet. I don't know if they still have it, but their crab omelette is my favorite. Note: "Brunch" is just an excuse to drink while eating breakfast, & this is definitely the place to do it. As I said before, raspberry mojito is the ticket.

Third, I just had a banquet here which was great. If you need to book a large party, I highly recommend this place. They have a cozy little room for private parties that is really nice. Of everything that I ordered, the crab cakes were awesome (as was the sauce they were served with). The lobster ravioli were also incredible, but I could just feel the fat padding on my ass as I ate them. They should put these on the regular menu because they are seriously out of control.

Fourth, their regular menu is pretty good as well. My parents love their cheeseburger. My favorite is the (appetizer) baked chevre, but again, you can just feel the fat padding on your ass as you enjoy this. I'm also a big fan of their chopped salad.  Their desserts are pretty good as well- my dad loves the creme brulee.

Fifth, the service staff doesn't change very much, which kind of tells you something.

Despite its yuppie-esque crowd, this is a pretty good place overall. Remember "Raspberry Mojito" and you'll have a good time.

So I couldn't not write about 33rd Street Bistro after finishing my review for Bistro 33!! Don't ask my why they have these two places almost named the same thing, but that is sacramento for you! and yes, they are owned by the same company ha My opinion, they should do a doublemint gum commercial together and split the profits! jk jk

But one thing bistro 33 doesn't have that this place does is amazing BREAKFAST FOOD! Their honey butter and maple syrup on their french toast rubs any tummy the right way and makes you smile all big and happy like those buddha guys! And for you egg fans like myself (yes, i make eggs 3-4 times a week!!!) their crab and pepperjack omelette is worth being one of the more expensive items at a whopping $10.95 ha For a nice environment that speaks a really nice winery/brewery this is one of my favorite east sac spots! but you definitely can't come here all the time because there aren't a ton of options to choose from and for those of you like me who like a little adventure, this place may not work for you too often......and the service can be spotty too so sit outside so you can people watch to pass the time!

Okay, this joint is pretty yuppified, but I've never had a bad meal here.  In fact, I've had some pretty darn tasty ones.  I often dream about the Oregon salad, which makes me feel like I'm eating healthy while I'm actually snarfing down buffalo wings and blue cheese.  Sandwiches are deelish and the fries already come with mayo on the side so I don't have to look like a fatso ordering it.

Minus 1 star 'cause breakfast choices are kinda meager and if, like me, you're not a fan of salmon, trout or crab with your eggs, stick with Tower Cafe for your Saturday morning hangover cure.

I went here with my sister a few weeks ago for dinner. She wanted pasta, so we dropped by. I got a bit lost at first, but, knew it was somewhere off Folsom. Anywho, she ordered the Fettucini with Shiitake Mushrooms. Now that was pretty good. The flavor was way different from any other pasta's I've eaten. I, on the other hand ordered the Oregon Bleu Cheese Salad...YUMMY! The buffalo chicken was delicious! I LOVE buffalo chicken! It came in a beautiful long boat looking dish. =) I was quite impressed. Of course, I'm going back!

One more thing, I have to say, this place isn't usually, my type...everything seems so nice, but, yeah, neat place. Our waitress was pretty cool also. I will definantly have to try breakfast some other time. Enjoy!

so where do you enter this place?!   the patio seating area, one would think to enter through there becuz it looks inviting.  but no, instead you enter on the side of the building that brings you into the restaurant.  once you're in, hmm....do i keep walking in further towards the patio or do i stop and wait for someone to greet me.  they don't have a host stand so you don't know where to stop.  it's just really open that you get lost. and look lost, unless you're lucky a staff member is hanging around the entry way and greets you.

this is a cute place to grab a quick bite that is away from the hustle and bustle of downtown area.  it is where stuck up people (in their polos and trousers) go and you stand out (to them) becuz you're in casual gear.  whatever snobs!!  it's sacramento!  me and the BF are usu. casual and we'll go back in our casual gear.  the staff doesn't care so keep your snobby looks to yourself and get used to it.

anyway, i've had breakfast here and wasn't quite impressed with the menu selection nor the taste of it.  this place gets 3.5 stars becuz of breakfast choices and taste.

dinner on the other had was great. service was a little slow but the the friendly service made up for it.   it seems to be a trend in sacramento...slow day in the restaurant equals slow service!!

the presentation of my dish was very delicous!  i had the penne pasta with seared shrimp.  really yummy.  the BF had the turkey burger with fires.  that was good, as well.

Have not had anything but breakfast here, but needless to say I was very much pleased with the food and service. The wait was kind of long, but expected on a weekend for breakfast. Our server was great and she tended to our needs, and our glasses were never empty.  The food came in a timely manner. I ordered the Northwest Scramble. I was hesitiant about salmon in a breakfast omelette, but it definitely hit the spot.  Every dish came out as ordered. Completely satisfied, will come here again.

Like some other reviewers, this has been a good default restaurant for a long time. I've never had a bad meal here, and I really like their wine selection, but I think I get a little bored with it. So it was with some arm-twisting that I went there for brunch on Saturday. I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious Bloody Mary, just spicy enough, with olives, celery and lemon. Since I was still dreaming of my fabulous crab omelet from the previous weekend (see my Main Street Cafe review), I ordered it here. The crab wasn't anywhere near what I'd had last Saturday, but it was okay. A friend warned me that it was "rich" and she was right -- a little too creamy/cheesy for my taste, but it was perfectly serviceable. The service was spotty, sometimes our waiter would be attentive, other times I think he forgot us. Overall, I deduct a star the service and for not really being any different than it ever is. Good food, okay service, consistent but boring.

Their sandwiches are great - all panini-style and with fresh ingredients.  The breakfast I had was OK, just basic eggs and potatoes, nothing memorable, though the coffee was good and strong.  I agree with the post that said they are not very attentive about refilling the beverages.  My main complaint is that they don't have much in the way of vegetarian options for breakfast and lunch. I'd go more often if they did.

I love this restaurant.  The first time I ate here (several years ago), I was very impressed with the food quality for the price.  Since then, I like to come here often.  It is a nice enough place for special occasions, but also relaxed enough for "just because".   I have had small plates, Panini, pizza...and dessert.  I am puzzled by prior reviews...only once have I had an experience here that wasn't great, but that was on Mother's Day and the place was SLAMMED, so I can forgive that because usually the service and food are SUPER!  It is a 4.5 star place in my book...but since Yelp doesn't allow 4 I'm bumping it to 5.

Every time my parents come into town, this is where we usually end up eating.  I like coming here because I can always count on the food being good, so I feel OK about bringing guests here.  My stepdad LOVES to eat appetizers and has ordered every one from the menu.  My favorites are the crab and artichoke dip, and the crispy shrimp cigars.  The fries and dipping sauces are pretty darned good too!

This place has a great breakfast too.  A few months back, we took my mother-in-law to breakfast for her birthday, and my husband and I split the crab and pepperjack cheese omelet--it was fantastic!!

One other thing to note is that their cocktails are good.  I hate going out and ordering a drink and having it be terrible.  Not the case here.  In fact, they have a drink called raspberry lemonade--I love it in the summer!  Raspberry flavoring of some kind, vodka mixed with Sprite.  It's my favorite drink here---I highly recommend!

I didn't care for this location. We went for Sunday brunch. The food was just OK and the service was terrible. I think maybe you have to be a Soccer Mom to be treated well here. You should eat here if you want to have your food thrown at you while listening to screaming children and then wait five minutes for a chance to even ask for condiments that were not offered in the first place while the waitress carries on a nice conversation with the lady's a few tables away. Oh and they were playing bad music too.  It was not a fun Sunday morning meal.  I wont be going back. The downtown location has a better menu and 4 dollar Bloody Marys but don't sit at the table by the kitchen door or you'll have staff shouting "Corner" in your ear throughout your meal.

I ate here twice while in town for business and both times...it was essentially The Bomb.  I had the pan roasted chicken, wilted lemon spinach and mashers.  Top this action off with a cold glass of white wine from their featured wines list and I was off to a lip smackin good time.  My friends were less than impressed with the ravioli and the lamb meatloaf that is their speciality.  But my meal was great and I had the same thing both times I went there.

I used to come here all the time for breakfast with my family but I had kind of forgotten about it until today.  Two friends and I went there for brunch today at about 1:30.  It was alright but you can definitely get similar food for significantly cheaper.  The decor is okay, nothing too special.  We were seated right away but the hostess' personality was seriously lacking.  I felt like we were bothering her by asking for a seat.  She asked us if we wanted breakfast or lunch and she was pretty pissed when we said we weren't sure.  Apparently carrying two menus to the table required a lot of extra effort for her.   It was a good thing that we asked for both menus because the breakfast one wasn't very extensive.  I was surprised to see a lot of breakfast staples;  omelettes, eggs benedict, etc missing.

It took about 7-8 minutes before we got water and another 5 minutes before our order was taken.  We ordered the artichoke appetizer and some drinks as well as our entrees.  We got the appetizer before we got the drinks.  We all enjoyed the artichokes and our drinks were good, the Raspberry Lemonade was excellent.  We all finished our drinks before our meals arrived so when they finally came, we ordered another round.  My friend switched up his drink order and got this blue lemonade this round in the hopes that it would be as good as our friend's raspberry lemonade.  The waiter made this strange face when he ordered it but didn't say anything.  Turns out, it is probably because the drink is gross.  It was so sweet (and I like sweet drinks) that we gathered all the lemons that we had as garnishes from the other drinks and squeezed them in to the drink.  It made it better but still not good.

Our food was decent but I wouldn't rush back here over it.  My friends both got paninis, one with crab and the other with turkey.  The both said they were good.  It was served with an uninspired side salad so we ordered a side of fries (probably the best part of the meal).  I got this scramble that had eggs, salmon, onions, and sour cream.  It was served with potatoes and toast.  I thought it was strange that they only had two options for toast, wheat or sourdough.

However, the strangest part of our meal was that another waiter kept coming around trying to "clear the condiments" meaning that he wanted the syrup, ketchup, and Tabasco from our table.  The first time we told him that we didn't know what we were going to order and that we might need that stuff.  He came by again while we were eating and asked again even though I had poured ketchup on my plate so I was clearly using it.  I found it to be rather tacky.  What could possibly be the harm in leaving that stuff on the table until we were gone?

Anyway, our bill came to $105 with tax and tip which was to be expected with the appetizers and drinks but I felt like it was a lot to pay for what we actually got.

One of my favorite places for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner. Excellent price points, good staff, warm atmosphere, and consistent food quality makes one return again and again.
One of the best hamburgers (and turkey burger) in town - ask them to grill the onions and tomatoes if you really want it juicy.
The shoestring fries are good if you make sure they are "just out of the fryer". I'm getting hungry just writing this.  Can't figure out why some of the other reviewers were that disappointed. If you're not happy with a dish, just tell 'em till they make it right - they're responsive. really.

This place is generally consistent but lately has been failing to *wow* me.  The girls and I met for a night out - drinks, appetizers, a bit of chow.  I had a mojito with bacardi limon - okay, too much ice, not enough drink.  We ordered fries (always yummy) with their peach ketchup (delicious) and the baked chevre.  The chevre was good but there just wasn't enough of it - a huge amount of bread with very little cheese served.  For our main courses, most ordered the old stand-by, the Puget Sound sandwich - though I think it was a little too mayonnaisy.  I ordered the soup of the day (swiss cheese & ham chowder) and the spinach salad.  The soup was too bland, the spinach salad under-dressed, so my meal was a strikeout.  A girlfriend got the butternut-apple soup though and it was delicious.

They have a new Wednesday night "fresh" menu that frankly wasn't that appealing.  It's in addition to the regular menu.  There's a whole section of "sauces/condiments" that you can order, for $1.50 each.  But that just doesn't make a lot of sense... in my mind, the appropriate sauce should be served with the entree, and you shouldn't have to pay extra money.  I mean, one of the $1.50 condiments was stone ground mustard and that is ridiculous!  Why would I pay for mustard?!?

Our server was okay but the pacing was off from the kitchen.  Several of my dining companions were waiting for their food for way too long.  My girlfriends who ordered wine were offered refills but not once did my server notice my empty barglass and suggest a second.  Not good.

I think my 33rd Street Bistro days may be over.  But can I give up their brunch?  I'm a sucker for their breakfast pannini...

Adorable signage and patio leads into a lovely exposed brick building with giant paintings of fruit...and WTF?  Did this place rip off a Fresh Choice for its artwork?  The smooth jazz reverberating from the speakers only intensified this vision of bougie purgatory.  Did I leave?  Hell no, I was hungry.  Lunch was calling and I answered.

I ordered a grilled Peugot Sound sandwich --  crab, shrimp, artichoke (hints of) and cheddar cheese (some) and suds to wash it down.  Mayo had a heavy hand in the taste and texture department.  The food was alright but uninspiring.  All throughout the meal, I had one constant thought: I should bust out Cuisinart griller at home and make a better sandwich myself.

UPDATE: Went here a second time with the fam.  Food still uh - fine? Giving an extra star because the service is consistently friendly and fast.

The "Panini" sandwiches are not the modern grilled-typed panini and I was sorely disappointed.  I ordered the "Grilled Turkey Club" which was served on a semi-hard white roll, only about 5 inches long.  I opened it up to barely see any turkey at all and what was there was burnt.  The "pepper bacon" was just one small piece of regular bacon.  For $10.55, it was a ridiculously small, tasteless plain ol' sandwich.  In fact, I had to add bleu cheese to give it a little flavor.  Won't be going back.

This is not the restaurant for entrees. That's the first thing an individual must come to terms with before deciding to step into the East Sacramento establishment. 33rd street Bistro does a lot of things well, entrees are not one of these things.
My family and I have been coming to 33rd street for years. When I was a teenager it was perfect; I could order a unique panini and and a side of french fries and be good to go. As my taste buds increase in direct opposition to my hairline, I tend to want something a little more complex. 33rd street doesn't always off what I'm looking for.
That being said, it does have some amazing paninis. The raineer, with mozzarella cheese and roasted chicken is a cheesy dream. The Mt. Hood, with pork loin and Gorgonzola relish, transports you to the pacific northwest, complete with apples, smoky herbed mayonnaise and grilled ciabatta (I don't think there's anything particularly northwest about ciabatta, I just wanted to throw it in) Finally, for an individual who doesn't particularly care for fish, the Puget Sound seems to be a hit on my tour of culinary Washington. The crab tastes fresh, the shrimp is small but not overly frozen of fishy, and there's enough cheddar cheese to make your forget you're missing out on red meat calories.
The baked chevre starter is really fantastic, as are the Shrimp Cigars. We started ordering the chevre with grilled bread, and now the waiters suggest it. I doubt we started this trend, but just in case we did I'd like to stake claim. The cigars are best hot, and skip the spicy cream sauce that comes with it. The plum dressing is definitely a hi-light.
If you're visiting 33rd Street in the summer, be sure to try their Oregon Blue Cheese salad as you enjoy the Valley's heat with a view of Folsom Blvd. And if you visit 33rd in the winter, try their Andouille Sausage pizza. I'd argue that this is the best dish on their menu.
The bar is fun, and makes for an exciting evening in it of itself. The wait staff is friendly and always helpful but usually look like they just stepped off of a tennis court or a putting green. All in all, its a great place but I'd rather venture down 33rd Street at lunch than at dinner.

Everytime I dine here I'm reminded of my first love. So there may be some bias, but nevertheless, I've never been disappointed with the food or wine.

The menu changes frequently, but the quality doesn't.

For Sacramento, this is one of the better restaurants.

Since 1/2 stars aren't allowed, I'm rounding up to 4 stars. We ate here a few weeks ago for lunch. It's a charming little place and wasn't crowded at all at 1pm. Started with the crab and artichoke dip, which was really the best part of our meal! Tasted perfect. I had the Pike's Market, which was a veggie panini with eggplant. It was very good, the eggplant was cooked just right-- not too firm or soggy. The foccacia was delish! We also had the Mediterranean salad which was great, but if you're not into feta or olives, it might not suit you.
The service, however, was slightly disappointing. The waitstaff was slow and extremely ditzy, and the food took a long time even though the restaurant wasn't crowded.

Get your pacific northwest fix here.  Yeah, sometimes there's a line - what...you HAVE to eat at 9, noon and 7?  Get there early, get there late ... just plan ahead!  Great food, especially since the oregon blue cheese salad grew back to its original huge size!  It's grreat to have a nice lunch ... and then pack up a to-go box and have a nice dinner, too!  We always have to order the crab appetizer.  We HAVE to!  The portions are usually generous - fresh ingredients.  The servers can be great, at times.  Busy, urban atmosphere.  Overall -- yummmmmmm!!!!

The cuisine was average, albeit good.  The crowd was a bit older.  The service was moderate.  I think you can get more bang for your buck somewhere else.

I am sorry to say but i hate this place.. I have tried it 3 times thinking that it might get better... i've tried several different dishes and i'm not impressed this place has really went down south after the head chef left a couple years ago and moved to  cameron park go to the rose bud cafe.... well i'm never going there again.. I'll just set myself up for a dissapointment... I HAVE NO clue why people like it or why they get the rating that they do on here.. oh and btw i was watching the "salad girl" wipe her nose and toss the salad...

This is my third time eating here, and I found the food to be consistently good.

The first couple of times, I was attending a work-related lecture  and dinner in the private function room in back.  This time, I was with a group of 8 having a going away dinner for a coworker and friend.

The ambience of this restaurant is warm and  friendly.  It  is a great place to go to with friends that you want to chat with while having a nice, light meal.

I had the "Puget Sound", a toasted sandwich with a creamy crab and other tasty tidbits.  A nice tossed salad came with it on the plate.  It was quite savory and the bread was nice and crusty.   It hit the spot on a cool, rainy night.

When the food arrived, we were all looking around at all the differentdishes that had been ordered.  The presentation of each was fairly attractive and interesting.   The mediterranean salad came in a long & narrow trough-shaped bowl and looked great   Another person had the club sandwich that came with a waxed paper cone full of french fries propped up in a cone-shaped holder reminiscent of  a goblet.   The sandwich looked good!

The person who'd ordered the hot wings got fries, too, and said that the wings were pretty good and were definitely spicy!

All are notes that I will remember when I go back and try each of those other dishes for myself.

33rd Street Bistro, why it's catagorized as a "Sandwich Shop" here on Yelp, I'll never know.  33rd is a great place to take your parents, a date, or even a group of friends on New Years Eve (convienent for slackers since they don't take reservations, you can always get an open table in a matter of 30-45 min).  The cocktails are good (they have a huge list of martini's) and the menu is reasonably priced.  The place seems to have a fun yet not overbearing atmosphere about it, and when the delta breeze kicks up, a patio to enjoy it.  Now that I think about it, the 33rd has a lot going for it.

I feel very lucky to have this restuarant in my neighborhood.  The breakfast in my opinion is the best in town.  You do have to wait in line, but it nothing like the 45 minutes line at Fox n Goose.  The decor is upscale, but the prices are no different than any other breakfast joint in town.  The norwest scramble is excellent, with salmon and dill.  My favorite dish hands down is the breakfast panini.  It is served on grilled challah bread (which makes me beam with Jewish pride) and has a layor of smoked turkey, eggs, emmenthaler cheese, and some herb seasoned mayo.  They also serve the best bloody marys and mimosas in town!

I've only been here three times (twice for lunch with coworkers in sac, and one time with a friend at the Davis location) but I just don't think it's that great. The first time I had a prawn-pasta dish, which I actually thought was really good, but a bit pricey. The second time I ordered the "Rainier" (chicken panini), which was interesting, but okay at best. The third time, I tried the veggie burger...I really liked the ciabatta bread (very fresh!) they served it on, but that was about it. Personally, I think everything I ordered fell on the bland side. The prices are ok--not as expensive as you might expect for this type of restaurant--but not worth it to me. Nothing tasted bad, but nothing tasted great either. I haven't tried their breakfast so maybe that's what I've been missing.

Great location with a nice patio to kick back on ,  while sipping some wine & people watching.
The menu changes from time to time... but they always have great salads. I love the Chop Chop salad and their risotto. Yum!

I like the baked chevre, but you have to ask for the crostini toasted.  I also order the Rainier and the Oregon bleu cheese-buffalo chicken chunks-& walnuts salad (with dressing on the side) because it's even better when you can add your own dressing.  My favorite brunch items are the waffle and the breakfast pannini.  They also do a killer creme brule, and I do believe this was where I had a fine port.

EDIT: I took a star off.  My best friend treated me to dinner because I helped paint her house, and I got my standard oregon bleu with the dressing on the side.  It was okay, more chicken than I remember getting in the past.  She got a flat bread pizza and 3 bottles of panna water.  We also got an appetizer of fried artichokes.

The appetizer was disgusting, and I will just stick to the chevre cheese if I ever go there again.  The flatbread was partially burnt, literally.  The meal was $40+.  I thought that was NOT worth it at all.  The only good thing was the salad, and I felt bad for her kids because they couldn't eat the chicken pizza.

A great midtown, neighborhood joint! Great breakfast. I would have to agree with David L., why it's listed as a sandwich shop is beyond me. Don't misunderstand me they do have some great sandwiches(panini) though.

i dig this place.  it may often be yuppy-puppy-ville, but the food and service has been good to me on every visit.  the first few times i went with friends, but the last few visits i have flown solo.  as cheese lover,  i like the fact that they incorporate cheeses into many of the dishes.  they have rogue dead guy ale on tap.  the wine list is not extensive but diverse enough and  fairly priced so that i can enjoy a few different glasses with a meal.  the salmon nicoise salad is one of my favorites.  whatever it is they do with the cabbage (put it in the pizza oven?) is delicious.  their coffee is tasty, and when available, (the varying kinds of)  creme brulee is a great ending to a meal.

This has been one of my favorite spots since they first opened.   For breakfast the french toast and sonoma jack cheese & turkey omelette are delicious.   My favorite entrees include their paninis and chop chop salad.   Plus they have the BEST cobbler in town.  If you haven't yet tried the cobbler, please do!  The crust will melt in your mouth!

Breakfast is great, with decor and service that belies the very good prices. I had 2 eggs over easy, chicken and apple sausage (1.5 sausages!), toast and potatoes for $6.95. That's better than a greasy spoon diner breakfast, and you're not condemned to the bathroom for the rest of the morning.
