    Treat yourselves, gents.
I had a Groupon for the "Pit Boss", a haircut, Shave or chair massage, hand detail and shoe shine.  It's worth the full price any day of the week.  I stared with my straight-razor shave from Carmelo.  It was outstanding.  I'd only had a straight-razor shave one other time...in Italy... It was outrageously painful.  This time, Carmelo took care of me right!  Hot towel, Hot shave cream, shave oil, then TWO times over with the straight razor before a cool towel and aftershave.  I'd come her just for this alone.  It's wonderful.
Next was my haircut with Katie.  Gents - ASK FOR KATIE! A great shampoo, a great cut, AND she trimmed my eyebrows, my Ear Hairs (yeah, I said it) and listened to my suggestions--while being stunningly charming throughout.
Finally, Ramon gave me a world-class shoe shine (I didn't have time for the hand detail - I was trying to do it all over lunch...).
Seriously.  If you only do it once, do it.  So glad I don't work in 175 Jackson anymore...I'd live at 316 Club.

This place is so bomb.  Straight razor shaves and hair styling.  It's decorated like a trendy bar, dark with indirect neon lighting.  It exudes slick.

316 is like "What if Maxim had a hair salon"- it's totally Guy.  The counter staff are all hot young girls.  There are copies of Playboy everywhere.  Most of the services come with a complimentary drink from the full bar.  There are sports games and stock tickers everywhere.  Madness!

I bought the groupon. It's walking distance from my place. A better than average cut, but the barber was a bit abrupt. Cut took maybe 15 minutes. He knew what he was doing, but I didn't "feel the love." Front desk/shampoo gal very nice, but a bit forced on the niceties.
So I was supposed to get a "$60" deal for $30. Looking at their site (not carefully enough) I thought I was getting a package with my nails cut and a shave. Not even close. Shampoo, hair cut, and my boots gratuitously weather treated, after tips, I was still out $60.
I thought the whole vibe was a little cheesy but kind of fun. Will I go back for just a (with tip) $70 haircut? No way.

I went in today between appointments to see about a shoe shine. Sure they have a bunch of barber shop services but today I didn't need any of that and there was no hassle about not getting a big ticket item. The staff was very polite and my wait was minimal. Pricing for a shoe shine is so good it's going to be hard to not go here multiple times a month. I think this is so far the best shoe shine I've had in Chicago. I am sure any guy will appreciate the distractions while there, whether it be drinks, the pool table etc., worth checking out.

The most important salon for guys in Chicago.  First, the place does excellent work in all their services- I've used the haircut, beard trim, manicure and pedicure services with them.  That's most important.  Second, unlike Halo, they have never kept me waiting around for over an hour for an appointment.  They are always prompt to their appointments.  Third, the location is key- 175 W. Jackson is a wonderful spot.  The membership at $650.00 a year for unlimited haircuts and whatnot is a steal if you consider that an average good haircut in this city for a guy every 3 weeks is significantly more than that.  They throw regular events for members and have great products.

I have no affiliation with the salon other than being a member, and in the 3/4 of a year I've been with them it's been well worth it.  They know me every time I come in the door- make it a point to get me out quickly and back to work, and are always nice as can be.

After purchasing a groupon for this place, I have become a loyal member.  I am definitely not the target clientele (financial type guys) but, Deanna, my regular stylist gives a great haircut and the atmosphere is relaxing, upscale and it offers great amenities!  Sip complimentary wine while getting your haircut while another pretty lady gives you a manicure.  For 685 a year, the membership includes unlimited haircuts, shoe shine, express manicure.  It's a no-brainer for me since I have that "good" hair and it grows like a weed!

minus:  location- no parking, middle of financial gotham, clientele tends to be grown up frat/ old boy's club type dudes, close early on saturdays and not open on sundays.

Guys.  You need this place.  My husband came out of the treatments I bought for him looking and feeling like a million bucks.  He is not the typical metrosexual either, but my suspicion about his closet grooming wishes was correct.  The place is cool and manly, unpretentious and professional.  Carmello gave him such a close straight razor shave, he skipped his shave the next day (and he usually looks like Fred Flintstone after a bender in the mornings!)  The haircut is sharp and included a scalp rub and she even trimmed his eyebrows.
I could go on and on...but let me just say it was the best gift I have ever gotten him, and he plans to go back.

Okay, I think I should say a few things about myself...it may help the next person wondering if they should go here.

I am not a "bro-dog." I do not go drinking in wrigleyville and I do not work in a job that has anything to do with money or sales. In point of fact, I'm a 30s something computer nerd.

I was short on time and needed a haircut before I left for the holidays. I read the reviews of this place and, while more than what I normally pay for a haircut, I figured I'd give it a shot. However, I was afraid that I might be a bit out of place here....I was sure I wasn't the typical clientèle.

I couldn't have been more wrong. This place is outstanding. Yes they have playboys and Maxims and while that isn't in my standard reading list...I *AM* a guy. :) The staff does treat you like a king. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Most importantly, this is easily one of the best haircuts I've had. The woman who cut my hair was outstanding and very friendly (and *very* easy on the eyes).

I am seriously considering the membership package. This place is outstanding and I'll be going back for sure.

Men's only club with pool tables, bar, lad magazines but its mostly about the cut and shave. Front desk/shampoo girl is great, Katie is good at cutting hair in a professional style (all-scissor) and gives you what is essentially a head massage in the process. However, I cannot recommend the barber, I can get a better shave myself and end up with less cuts. His razor seemed light and cheap, and while his hand was steady it wasn't very smooth. If you work in 175 Jackson or nearby, membership might be worth it for frequent haircuts during lunch. If not, there are better (if less chic) places in the loop and certainly up Michigan Ave.

I have not found a place that shines shoes and waxes eyebrows as well as these follks do. I had no idea that they had a membership program. 650 for a years sounds like a steal. I think this place if you like attention to detail. It's pefect for anyone working in the "Financial District."

I bought a groupon for the $60 haircut for only $30. Overall the place is nice, nice magazine collection, the shoeshine was impeccable and great,  bar and such upscale, the haircut was good, but overall I would have been really pissed off at myself for going there if I had to spend $60 not including tips for a haircut that  I could have spent $20 at sportclips and basically got the same thing minus the amenties. If Groupon has another thing with them perhaps, but full price for it, no way.
