Whoa. These guys serve incredible portions of food. The Club sandwich is so big I can't even bite down on it. The burgers are cooked to ordered with your requested fixings. They even have a filled hamburger where they put cheese INSIDE the hamburger patties... talk about awesome taste explosions in the mouth! Phew!
Not shy on the fries. Was very satisfied with the pick-up, as you just have to walk to the bar and they have your food ready within 15 - 20 minutes. Full bar service for a quickie drink if needed during a hard day... not that I'd ever do such a thing. :P
Only real downside is how busy and packed it gets. It's a great place to eat, but get ready to have to shuffle around and overhear other peoples conversations.
I was optimistic when my wife and I decided to try 310 Park South for a light dinner. Neither of our children would be in tow, thanks in equal parts to teen ambivalence, on the one hand, and a fifth grade camping trip, on the other. Accordingly, we only had to find a restaurant that would allow our puppy to join us at an outdoor table. 310 Park on Park Avenue in Winter Park seemed to fit the bill.
310 Park believes in crowding its patrons together, both indoors and out. The result was an almost fair like atmosphere at the outside tables. Unfortunately, because the sidewalk was not designed with dining comfort in mind, half of my chair was about 3 inches below the other half due to a small grassy patch adjacent to the brick sidewalk. Not the most comfortable of seats!
The restaurant is described as offering "American" fare, which I think now means that the chefs can borrow from the culinary heritage of any culture as long as they do not emphasize one heritage over another and as long as the menu includes at least one version of a hamburger.
My wife ordered the Turkey Brie sandwich ($11). It was sliced turkey with brie cheese, tomoto, sprouts and green apple, served with a honey dijon mustard sauce on a honey-wheat wrap. Was it all of that? Yes. Was it an inspired or even interesting version of a turkey sandwich? Not really. An $11 turkey sandwich should at least offer house-roasted turkey and not the thinly sliced turkey that any of us could purchase at our local grocery store. My wife summed up her experience best when she noted that she could have purchased a better sandwich at Panera.
All of the sandwiches at 310 Park South are served with a choice of soup, salad or french fries. My wife opted to have the soup of the day -- a creamy mushroom soup on the day we visited. The soup, which I ate, was comparable tomy wife's sandwich. It was recognizable as mushroom soup but there was nothing wonderful about it. Instead of the wonderful earthiness of a good mushroom soup, 310 Park South's version tasted nothing more than dirty to me. Moreover, it had already cooled by the time that it reached our table, so much so that it had a skin on its surface before a spoon had ever touched it.
I ordered the Salmon Tika Marsala sanwich with a Ceaser sald. The menu described the sandwich as skewered salmon, onion, red and yellow peppers, grilled and served on pita bread with lettuce, tomato and cilantro cream drizzle. The first thing I noticed when my plate arrived was that the sandwich was not presented on a pita but on a wrap -- a stale wrap. The server then politely pointed out that I needed to be careful because there was a skewer running the entire length of the wrap. As I quickly learned, it was impossible to remove the skewer without destroying the wrap and it was impossible to eat the wrap without biting into the skewer. I had to resort to a knife and fork, which really takes the fun out of eating a sandwich!
To be fair, the skewered salmon and vegetables were excellently grilled, and I would have been much happier if I had received them on a bed of rice or some other starch. Indeed, two such skewers alone would have been a perfect dinner had I not had my heart set on a sandwich.
The cilantro drizzle, although quite tasty, was applied as more of a torrent. 310 Park South should take note that salmon prepared as well as they prepare it should not be masked by a pool of cream!
The Ceasar salad which accompanied my salmon was clearly prepared by someone who had better things to be doing. The Romaine lettuces was admittedly fresh and still had a crispness to it but it just as clearly came out of a bag of pre-chopped lettuce, or at least that is what it seemed. It was tossed without any discernable Ceasar dressing, a sad omission which really defeated the purpose of ordering a Ceasar salad, but it was topped with a delightfully salty freshly grated parmesan cheese.
I also have to note that when I order an entree, even a sandwich, which comes with a "soup or salad," I tend to assume that the soup or salad will be served as an appetizer. 310 Park South serves their soups and salads with their entree sandwiches. Their servers should have alerted us to that, as I am sure we would have sampled one of their appetizers had we known.
The service at 310 Park South was appropriate. Our server was polite and reasonably attentive, despite his failure to alert us that we might have enjoyed an appetizer. He also scored extra points by bringing our dog a bowl of water.
310 Park South does offer desserts and a full bar but we did not try either. The prices at 310 Park South are a bit steep but not so far out of the realm of the expected to ruin the experience. Would my wife and I visit again? Probably not of our own selection. Would we decline an invitation if we learned that a social gathering to which we were invited was to take place there? Possibly.
This place has great food and a great location. It is a good spot to dine outside when the weather is right. One of the best things I have tried on the menu is the buffalo wings though because the sauce is very unique without a strong vinegar taste. I have ventured beyond these of course but I find myself ordering them most often when I go there.
This is a decent place to have a drink. It doesn't have that same uncomfortable pretension that Luma's does next door. It's comfortable and relaxed, which is what I look for in a dive bar. They have an extensive beer list on both draughts and bottles. Classy atmosphere, attentive bartenders, and the option to sit outside. They're also fully stocked on alcohol. Very good selection. They have my favorite scotch: Glenfiddich both aged 12 years and 15 years. I haven't eaten there yet. I usually just go there late at night for a drink or two...or three.
Bleh. I had high hopes for this restaurant. I browsed the menu before going with my two friends and thought there were so many great choices that I would have a hard time deciding. I guess I decided on the wrong one.
1st course: "Cold Tomato Bruschetta" I am a HUGE tomato fan and an even bigger fan of bruschetta. The menu said, "310 Bruschetta served on bread with grated cheese and balsamic." Sounds good, right? They served hard bread with chopped green peppers, olives, red peppers, and a bit of tomato. SO disappointing.
I got the tuna salad which was mediocre at best. The tuna was flavorless, but the dressing was pretty good. Nothing I would ever get again. My friend was served a seafood salad that the menu made sound delightful, but was physically ill that night after eating cold flavorless seafood SOAKED in olive oil. Puddles and puddles. No seasoning, no nothing. Just olive oil.
Service was good, outside seating was nice, but the flavorless food ruined the dinner.
Thank god for Eola Wine bar and their flights of champagne. Nothing like getting buzzed to make you forget the disappointing dinner you had down the street.
A friend of mine who dines out frequently had been raving about this popular restaurant on Park Ave. So when we made the trek from downtown, I had high hopes of a glorious meal with a great atmosphere--and that's exactly what we got.
The brightly colored walls and the overall style of 310 Park South come off very inviting. And although it was raining, the outdoor seating looked great since the entire front wall of the restaurant opens like a garage door.
Our waiter was great at making sure our table was taken care of and well informed of the menu. I can say that my dinner was awesome. I ordered the Turkey Brie Wrap which was carefully put together with apple slices, alfalfa sprouts, Dijon mustard and fresh tomatoes. Everyone else I was dining with also loved their selections which ranged from a Chicken Sandwich, Fish & Chips and the Salmon.
I was also told to try their Spiked Hot Cocoa which was out of this world. It wasn't too sweet or too spiked. Just the right mix of spirits and good old hot chocolate. Great for a dessert substitution. If you are in the market for the real deal though, they do homemake all of their selections except their carrot cake which gets made special by the infamous Dessert Lady downtown.
The prices were reasonable as well. Not too over the top despite the environment and class of the restaurant.
In the trendy fashion of naming your restaurant after your address, 310 Park South does exactly that in the swank-iest part of town Winter Park's Park Avenue.
It's glass doors open up to the busy street, yet the place is still surprisingly cozy, and can be measured in the fact that everyone else is able to maintain a nice conversation.
The food ranges from ordinary to extravagant with the price tag to match. While I've heard complaints of poor service, I didn't experience it while I was there, as the waiter was attentive, kind, and funny. Might of been the guy's personality or it might have been due to the fact that the girl I was with happened to be really pretty.
While most bars and stores on Park Avenue are annoyingly overpriced, the convenience of having this area so close to Rollins College can't be beat (about a 5 minute walking distance from campus). Even so, if I'm paying 9 dollars for a grouper sandwich the flavor had better explode in my mouth like Pop Rocks Candy and holy water.
310 is a chic, young restaurant with a satisfying selection of drinks and food. When I recently sat down with a friend for dinner and a drink, we were seated outside on the sidewalk which is cramped and mostly awkward as passersby weave through the chairs, tables and various dogs that lie at their owner's feet. It is near impossible to seat more than 4 people and the servers always seem annoyed when we suggest pushing two tables together.
We had to seat ourselves and weren't immediately greeted. When I mistook the host for a waiter, he backed away from me, hands up in protest and replied, "I don't take orders." He disappeared without so much as letting me know who our real server was.
I'd just like to clarify that I do not have leprosy or any sort of deformity so astoundingly repulsive that would illicit such a strange reaction. Even if, let's say, I were completely missing a face I would expect the same kind of service regardless. Because you know what, maybe I just like feeling the food even if I can't see, taste or smell it. Otherwise, I think I'm pretty normal looking.
With that said, our orders came through in a timely manner. The grouper sandwiches were painfully spicy but satisfying enough. I had two apple martinis both well mixed and delicious.
310 is in dire need of a reality check if it considers itself on the top tier of Park Avenue dining and service. It's good enough because it's nearby and the drinks are sufficient. But if 310 were in any other spot, I wouldn't bother making the trip to eat there.
The best thing about this place is that it's within walking distance of Redlight Redlight, and stays open long after that bar has to close.
The drinks are a tad pricey, but it's on Park Ave, so.... The food... just skip it. I've not had good meals here, and after 2 bad ones, I stopped trying. The drinks are good though.
The food was delicious and wonderful both times I went here. The martinis and beer selection was also fabulous. Only went down a star due to the mild incompetence of the server the second time I went there. He was a bit slow, forgot water (or even to ask), and left way too much time between visiting our table before we ordered. Luckily for 310, the server I had the first night was excellent (and really excited about good beer... BONUS!). I actually managed to keep my bill around $30 the first time I went. They have delicious pasta dishes that are slightly less than the main entrees, and if you really want to save a bit while still eating delicious food, the sandwich menu is pretty extensive and sounds delicious.
I went to 310 for lunch as well as drinks while I was in town for a wedding. The lunch was great, as I got a grilled Wahoo salad that was very large and tasty. However, the drinks were noticeably pricier than next door at Spice (when I say next door I mean about 5 feet away) and the staff wasn't quite as friendly, at least not at night. For drinks I'd definitely choose Spice.
I go to 310 pretty regularly due to the fact that their menu is on the cheaper side for Park Ave. You can sit outside for some sunlight and people watching however the outdoor furniture is cheap and uncomfortable. I would recommend sitting inside near their open windows so you can get fresh air but sit at a nicer table. I personally prefer sitting at the bar as the bartenders are extremely attentive as opposed to table service which can suffer when 310 inevitably gets crammed full of people around every major meal time. The food here is pretty decent but as another poster said, I usually stick to the loaded burger. They have a decent selection of drinks and you can usually keep your bill here pretty low.
310 Park South is my favorite place along the Park Ave. strip to dine at not only because the food is consistent and delicious, but also because the atmosphere is relaxed yet eloquent at the same time and the servers are always on their game.
What I like about this place....
Obviously the food. The salmon tiki masala is what I order most of time because the salmon is always cooked perfectly, the sauce is the perfect accompaniment and the pita it's wrapped up in has such great flavor. When I'm being a little more adventurous I'll go for the loaded burger, Steak 310 or the chicken salad sandwich, or the tuna filet salad. For appetizers, I enjoy the beef tenderloin flat bread, calamari, and the gator tail bites. Their food is never greasy and presented in a very clean, simple manner.
I also LOVE the decor. The restaurant is filled with lots of goldenrod yellow, black and reds throughout, modern furniture and french inspired pictures. Everything from their menus to their wait staffs' apparel to the way the dishes are presented meshes and works well together.
AND the sangria is AMAZING!
What gets on my nerves about this place at times...
Sitting outside can get be irritating because the tables wobble and I feel like the service suffers because waiters are trying to cater to their customers inside and outside. The chairs are not comfortable and really hurt your butt after awhile. If it's busy, the inside gets cramped easily, making it difficult to walk back to the bathroom or simply move around at times.
Overall...LOVES IT!
Good place to eat in Winter Park. Nice outdoor seating if the weather is good. Great atmosphere and feel to the restaurant. Go with a date or a group of friends.
The calamari was good. Good drinks/deserts as well. Never had any prob with service.
Oh yea, take a nice stroll around Park Ave after dinner... can't say that too often in Orlando.
I've been going to 310 for years. I agree that the food and service is not consistent, but the drinks and people watching make this a place worth visiting. I usually stick with the Loaded Burger; it's stuffed with cheese and other goodies and it's always good. I also substitute the sauteed veggies for french fries because their veggies are some of the best in town. I've "made friends" with a few of the waiters so now they give my group great service every time.
this is an ok place, it has a nice sidewalk cafe. the menu was uneventful, the food was ok. if you want to eat on park ave. and have a $12.00 sandwich or salad this a place to do so, but there are probably better choices.
Good weeknight place to drop in and have a few at the bar. Mostly a low-key vibe and locals crowd. You can easily do lunch for 2 here and keep it under $40 including tip. I recommend the 310 Garden Salad - the mix of tangy goat cheese with a light rasberry vinaigrette and smoked pistachios was a surprisingly good combination. I found the salmon tiki masala somewhat dry the last time I had it which is one of the dangers of skewering salmon. Stick to the low end of the menu and you'll walk out more than satisfied. For a more special occasion and a bigger budget I'd go elsewhere but highly recommend 310 to drop in for lunch the next time you're strolling Park.
The food is good and I've had good cocktails at the bar, but the service can really, really suck here. More than once I've been sitting at my table, waiting for service, and have gotten dirty looks by the owner as she passed by my table. When that happens I get up and leave - and I don't get table service here anymore. With that said, the food is still good and so are the drinks - I eat at the bar and ignore the owner's dirty looks and it's all good...
Great food, drink, and atmosphere at a reasonable price. The outdoor seating on Park Avenue is top notch and if you enjoy a good burger this is the place for you.
Having heard all the hype over this Winter Park hot spot I had to try it for myself. I went on a Monday afternoon for lunch with my dog in tow. We sat at a table on the sidewalk that luckily had an umbrella to shield us from the alternating blazing sun and sprinklings of rain that entertained us while we ate. I started with a glass of water that arrived with a cucumber slice in it, a creative take on the traditional lemon. The water actually had a bit of cucumber taste and smell which although I don't like cucumbers I found refreshing. The restaurant was busy and littered with the usual Park Ave. clientele. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. On a (healthy) whim I ordered the chicken salad wrap with a Caesar salad as my side. My lunch mate got the steak and portebella sandwich. Our food arrived in a timely fashion and was delicious. The salad comes on your plate alongside your sandwich but it was nice to be able to substitute the fries for salad. Most places charge you a dollar or so extra. The steak sandwich cooked to medium and was a juicy, mouth watering delight. My chicken salad wrap was good, especially for how boring such an item had the potential to be. It contained sprouts and cucumber with a creamy dressing instead the the usual mayo. For being a healthier choice it was also very tasty. The inside of the restaurant had a bar and several tables/booths with a funkier upscale vibe. I could see how it would be a happening spot later in the evening. The wall facing the sidewalk opens up completely so you get a real Florida room half inside/half outside deal, great for enjoying the weather and people watching. I'll have to skip down there for happy hour in the near future.
HA... the girl below me who wrote a review of this fabulous place likes to complain. Everything she disliked/complained about is what makes this place oh so charming. The atmosphere is superb. I love getting a group of friends together here, as they are quick and eager to accommodate (They didn't even complain when we asked for a table for 18). The service is slow, but I've come to learn it's designed this way to allow you to enjoy the company you're with- don't come here if you're looking to be in and out. Anywho, if you sit at a sidewalk table, you'll be sure to have tons of fun people watching & if you're a dog person, checking out all the adorable pups. The prices are extremely reasonable (i'd say $8-$18). I recommend the calamari appetizer & the mushroom ravioli. At night 310 offers a chill live music atmosphere. The musician who plays on saturday nights plays a sweet mix- david grey, paul simon, dmb, etc. Always a good time.
