sick spot to hit up with friends! it's the late night old school cosmic bowling with a new age lounge/sports bar twist. the place is clean and their system is spot on for providing a positive experience. no wretched pile of shoes on a counter top, jacked up bowling balls scattered in rows of shoddy racks or lousy 1980's computer system that takes an hour to program names! you walk in, tell them your names and your shoe sizes, they assign you a lane, hand you your shoes, bring you the ball of the size and weight you ask for and you go and bowl! various genres of music videos playing above the lanes on large projection screens give the place a great energy and last but not least... ALCOHOL! oh HELL YEAH! who 21 and over can resist!? the bar isn't huge but they get the job done and there's waiters who help you at your lanes (i recommend going to the bar for quicker drink reception).
all in all it's a great idea, well done and in a nice area. check it!
A friend of mine described this place as "the olive garden of bowling alleys." I have no idea what that means, but think it's appropriate to share - interpret as you will.
I had fun here - it's relatively cheap, they do a whole "sizing" exercise with you so that you are using properly sized balls.
(hehehe).
Anyway, it's a good time. You can get in two frames of bowling, with shoe rental, and pay less than $20 - not bad for an evening out and some laughs with your friends.
So why not four or five stars?
Well, truth be told, if you were an unscrupulous person you could very easily get in your bowling for free. The staff, at least on the night we went, seem to have a tendency to just disappear. Or at least keep their customers waiting while they chat amongst themselves about whatever suits their fancy.
One of my colleagues went up to grab us drinks from the bar and disappeared for literally 20 minutes because the girl making our drinks sort of started, wandered off, came back, made the wrong drinks, dumped them out, shrugged, and then still gave him the wrong drink order. Minutes after this fiasco, a waitress came over to our lane (we'd been there 45 minutes without any attention), and asked if we needed anything. I actually think she came over really to spy on the awkward first date happening next to us (picture a girl with ridiculously HUGE fake boobs but dressed like a librarian and a dude-bro drinking lady drinks and nonstop talking about himself while boobalicious librarian nods and looks bored).
Also, the music video mix is schizophrenic. I was actually amused by it but some of my party were a little confused. We literally watched: a live George Harrison Hall of Fame video followed by Beyonce followed by Christian rock followed by an 80s pop band followed by some indie country group followed by Lil John. Somewhere in there a Disturbed single played as well. My ears! My eyes!
Not a bad place to spend an evening - easily a four star experience if the staff were a little more attentive. Definitely bring your friends - and definitely do not bring a first date here - unless you know how to actually have a conversation...
I've never been to a bowling alley like this before so I was excited when my "friend" asked me if I wanted to go. We came here a couple of days before Christmas and I was surprised at how empty it was. I mean, I don't know how busy it SHOULD be but I figured a place as nice as this would be packed. I wasn't complaining tho.. I'm pretty self-conscious about my bowling skills hahah
Although we didn't order much, I was extremely pleased with the service. The waiters/waitresses were very kind and attentive. We even got two free glasses of Coke (yay?) but too bad I don't drink soda.
Our actual bowling experience was great. I love the big screens along the wall. I had to stop myself from watching all the MJ music vids while I bowled. At one point, I almost let go of my ball too early which would of sent it flying back behind me 0_0
I can't say much about the price because I have no idea how much any of it cost.. the "friend" took care of the bill, as it always should be :D heheh
Had a great time in the VIP lounge. Great music, good drinks and fun times. Great place for friends and a pretty fun little date spot as well!
Came here for my birthday with friends. Awesome = ambiance, $20 for unlimited bowling, shoes, and ball. = ) The food is pretty good for the typical appetizers you find on the menu. The sampler was pretty good - I'd recommend if you are with lots of people. Not so awesome = servers are slow, and don't know how to close out bills properly! Check your bill carefully when paying. Other than that, good times!
Holy cow, this place completely changed my perception of what a bowling alley was. Before my friend showed my this place, I always thought bowling alleys were dusty and dirty places with old people and older machines. This place is hip, swank, and modern. The bar area doesn't look like it came from a bowling alley. There are flat screen tv's on the walls and sofa chairs. For the bowlers they have an couch rather than flimsy plastic seats. Jumbo screens, loud hip hop music, fancy lights, private lanes, pool tables, this place is clearly trying to appeal more to a younger crowd than a typical bowling alley. Even their prices are listed on a tv screen rather than some poster or plaque.
Only one issue with this place, although it's an important one, it's really freakin expensive. $8 a game friday and saturday, $6 otherwise. I can play several games for that price at other places. This isn't a place to come practice your bowling, this is a place to bring your friends and show off.
I have never been to a "fancy" bowling alley. I like kitschy old mid century alleys. 300 is beautiful. Very clean, great service, comfortable. Overall a good experience. Only complaints are the price (yeah, it's expensive), the oddness of paying AFTER you're done bowling (I'm sure they planned it out so drunk people will bowl game after game and cha ching for them), bathrooms were out of toilet paper the entire 3 hours I was there on a Saturday night, and the bad music videos blaring through the place. I will return, but probably not on a Saturday night because it was a little out of my price range.
I LOVE this place, so cool! The prices are a little up there but hey, its all good.
We did not bowl but did get to seat at these comfy lounge-type chairs and watch the Chargers (win), right aside the bar. Ordered food, the sampler appdetizer platter and the nachos, for dessert we had the overzide cookie (which I HIGHLY recommend = OMG!)
Used a http://restaurant.com certificate and the bill came to $40, oh yeah that includes 3 sodas (w/ free refill), service was really good.
Because it is not crowded I love it even more, I hope and pray it doesnt go out of business because of the lack of clients, I adore coming to GardenWalk.
So my friends and I descended on 300 Anaheim for a friend's birthday last night. I wasn't expecting more than your run of the mill bowling alley with smelly shoes, messed up balls, watered down beer and overpriced/disgusting food. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find myself at a clean, upbeat and modern alley. It better have been because the drinks in there weren't cheap, but luckily the bar tenders that night decided to get us loaded and poured a lot of alcohol into our orders. I didn't order any food personally, but one of my friends had their sliders there and she seemed pretty satisfied with it.
The bowling itself is good quality with clean shoes, decent balls, working lanes and modern score displays. They were blasting loud top 40 music and weird trance remixes which would usually bother me, but I didn't really care because I was drunk off my ass and bowling well too (surprisingly). Overall it was my best experience in an alley ever.. I'm so used to ghetto ones I've been to before.
I assisted my fiance photographing/video-taping a Sweet 16 Birthday Party last night here at the private lounge. When I first entered this place, I was in awe! The place is not like any bowling alley I've ever been to. It is ultra trendy and chic (don't even know if this is the right word for it) with very modern decor and neon lights. Instead of those boring 'school' chairs, they have lounge chairs with fun colors. Music is very hip hop with big screen at the end of the bowling lane.
The private lounge has 8 lanes with its own bar (since this was a sweet 16, only soda was servered), shoes in all sizes in the cubies, and of course lots of bowling balls to choose from. The Birthday Girl even played her own slide show (from her own laptop) which displayed on the big screens that I thought was so cool.
The food was served buffet style. They smelled wonderful! There was even a chocolate fondue for friut/marshmellow sticks. I tell you, I wish it was my birthday party because I soooo wanted to try the food and the fondue! But no, I was very professional. I concentrated on what I had to do - photographing and video-taping.
The event manager and wait staff were wonderful. They attended to every needs of the Host, Guest of Honor, and all the guests. Everyone enjoyed the food, the music, and the fun. They even had fun posing for pictures.
I have no idea how much the private lounge costs (but I imagine it was a VERY SWEET 16!). There was also another party out in the public area and it was serving pizza only, which I'd think would be more affordable.
If you can afford it, I would highly recommend the private lounge. If not, still come here to enjoy some fun. There are pool tables in addition to bowling. And a bar area for you and your friends to hang out. I definitely want to come back here to enjoy next time when I am not working!
300 turns bowling up a notch. The Dude from The Big Lebowski would probably drop his beverage coming into this kind of place, but I think 300 is the swank alley the OC needs.
The beer is crazy expensive, the bowling is crazy expensive, and the place is immaculately clean. This place was made for OC people. Get your club clothes on and bowl? That's how we roll (sorry had to do it).
So I havn't bowled in yeeeeeears ! So I had to see if I still had it. Ummmm... I think noooooooot. Only because I had been drinking before hand (read my review below) & then @ 300 I continued with some Long Islands so my form was a lit-tle off.
This spot is real cool though. They have...
A GRIP OF LANES
A MODEL BOWLING BALL TO SEE WHICH 1 FITS PERFECT FOR U
A GUY GOES AND GET YOUR BALL 4 U
IF U HAPPEN TO WEAR SANDALS (like I did) THEY GIVE U FREE SOCKS
HUGE SCREENS AT THE END OF THE LANES PLAYING OLD SCHOOL AND SOME NEW JAMS
POOL TABLES
KITCHEN
SERVE ALCOHOL
They have a bouncer at the door so I guess they have some kind of dress code or something going on and I guess after like a certain time adult only.
What sold me was the old school videos on the big screen blasting SALT N' PEPA, BBD, SLICK RICK, SNOOP, CUBE, MJ, HOUSE OF PAIN, KRISS KROSS, WARREN G, Q-TIP,DIGITAL UNDERGROUND (COULDN'T RESIST...I HAD 2 DO DA HUMPTY DANCE) & MANY OTHERS
The atmosphere & the layout of this place is nice. Music blasting all throughout & big screen TV's all over as well. Bowling, pool hall, lounge, bar..all-in-one. I only give it a 4 b/c of its overpriced bowling & drinks (some). Other than that, great place for you and your friends to hang out at.
This place has so much potential...on mondays they have an all you can bowl special for $20 a person which is what my group did...it's beautiful on the inside and they have huge screens across all the lanes showing music videos from all different categories...the place is upbeat and beautiful but....
we ordered the food and bowled an entire game before it arrive...when i spoke with the management about this she didn't offer any sort of condolence except to say that everyone has ordered food and they had but one chef and one server...if you are not prepared for this many people, perhaps you should have built a smaller bowling alley.
Half way through our game the pins got stuck which took quite awhile to fix too
their call button doesn't seem to work...or if it does they respond VERY slowly
we ordered:
Florentine Flatbread Pizza: Small...below average $10
Nachos...below average...not enough chips...chips were stale
Steak Burger...not good...not bad either
Seasoned Sweet Potato Fries...the best of the worst...these actually weren't bad...my only complaint that they were oversalted tho the rest of my company enjoyed them
French Fries...average...nicely seasoned
u pay at then end so we actually almost walked out forgetting to pay
o ya if you forget socks they have them available for you...and they don't take ur shoes when u get bowling shoes...u hold onto them urself...
i wud never return here....ur better off saving your money
bowling was soo fun here . being the poor bowler that i am, i still enjoyed myself. Its pretty sophisticated compared to fountain bowl and other bowling alleys around here. The interior is modern and eclectic. there are huge tv screens playing music videos, loud music, lights, pool tables, they even have a full menu ranging from thai chili wings to steak burgers to bbq ribs. unlike any bowling ive ever experienced. this place is def. recommended i will be back!
My friend introduced to this place and I loved it! We came here on a Saturday night to bowl.
First off I loved the atmosphere of the bowling alley. It was dark, there was hip music playing, big screens on each alley, and a person who gets your ball and shoes!
Prices were more expensive than normal alleys but I think it is definitely worth it to pay more to get the 300 experience!
This is definitely more of an adult bowling alley and it was nice not to have kids running around.
Also there is a nice selection of food and drinks on their menu. Good service!
Would love to return.
No League Nights, No Adjoining Karaoke Room, No Ashtray Smell! I've only been a couple times, and unfortunately, during the day, so I have yet to see what the party crowd is like on a Friday or Saturday Night.
But the weekend afternoons seem a little slow, rarely anyone at the bar, really rarely anyone in the Bowling Alley at all! Maybe it's because Anaheim Gardenwalk attracts mostly foreigners visiting SoCal for Disneyland, maybe it's because not very many people know it's there!
300 is almost hidden, at the very bottom floor of Gardenwalk, with only a couple of signs throughout the Shopping Center to let you know, "Dude, there is a pretty awesome full-service Bowling Alley downstairs with alcohol, pool tables, good food and ESPN showing on the walls of the Alley!" Full-Service! Like, you don't have to spend twenty minutes looking for the right stupid bowling ball that might fit your fingers but isn't heavy enough. Or is the perfect size and weight, oh but the bowling ball is pink and someone left their gum in the thumb-hole!
No, instead, you check-in at the front counter where they input your names for you (no more trying to figure out how to use the Bowling Alley's Commodore 64 System), they escort you to another counter where you get fitted for your bowling ball, and, Voila! You're off to your lane, with bowling ball in hand ready to go!
A server comes to you to feed you all kinds of delicious (try their nachos) better-than-average bar food leaving you and your friends to get stupid, drunk and bowling! Okay, not so stupid and drunk considering it was a Sunday afternoon, but I can only imagine should I come here with my friends on a Saturday Night! Check it out!
Bowling is probably one of the few activities that seems more enjoyable the worse you are. No one gives you crap for being a bad bowler, and when you do finally score a strike or spare, you party like its 1999. I'm one of those people. So I prefer to have a more stimulating environment than the traditional bowling alley: dark, blasting with music, neon lights, and a fully stocked bar. 300 mostly fits the bill with exception to the fully stocked bar -- they don't have my drink of choice, Remy Martin VSOP, only the rarer Remy Grand Cru which is rarer for a reason (it's not very good). The crowd is a little younger and hipper like Lucky Strikes. It's probably more expensive than most bowling alleys, but people are coming here for the environment. Hell, I have no plans on getting serious about my bowling, so this place suits me well.
yeah. I like this place. I actually threw a small party there on Sat nite. Lot's of thrill....thru to the 3rd game. I mean, for a group of about 20, 3 lanes reserved, after the 2nd game I was kinda done, wanted to move on. But the Sliders were great, so were the fries...just brillz....but please, skip the dry chicken tenders, might as well chew on your bowling shoes.
This place is a really nice bowling alley, with huge and loud music videos playing: nothing too risque, so the kiddies are o.k. to bring along. Nice lounge bar, could've reserved pool tables near by our lanes, hmmm wished I woulda knew that at the time of party set-up.
sigh...
Soooooo, service was MAGZ....couldn't want for nothin with Jennifer around, she was on it! NIce big, healthy Tini's and ice old too!! It could be a great couples get together. Cocktails, decent food brought to your tables in front of your lanes, great service with a Cool vibe about this place.
Go.
or don't.
...maybe I don't want it that crowded next time i do: tee-he :)
Nice ambiance and decor but can be expensive!
Go to Lucky Strike instead. Got there sat at
Bar ordered a beer and trio of fries. Beer was
fine fries were supposed to come with ketchup
spicy blue cheese, curried aioli. instead of aioli
got mustard they asked the mgr what to do he did
not to care so I paid and left to never return.
7 of us went to 300 a few nights ago. The food was not as good as Applebees. The shrimp were fishy so we didn't even finish them. We rented 7 pairs of shoes, played 2 games, ordered 5 dishes, 15 shots, and maybe 3-4 cocktails. WHY DID IT COME OUT TO $490? Everyone was shocked and upset. We expected the check to be around $250 so this was a big disappointment. They must've charged $12-$18 per drink. The bowling alone was around $200. WTF, WOW!
This place is awesome!! On Mondays after 5 you can bowl until midnight for $20 (shoes and ball included)!! How great is that?? The food is delicious and the drinks are very reasonably priced. Me and the gf bowled 2.5 hours (6 games), had a chicken blt (delicious!), mozerela sticks, 3 coctails, and a soda for $80! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The balls are decided by how big your fingers are and how heavy you want them (yes I know, big balls, haha). Music video plays behind the lanes, very good selection. Hip hop to country to oldies to alternative to dance. Even the bowling screen is customizable! Sports, fairy tale, pba, vintage, disco, dinosaur, etc. There is even a private lounge. I'm not exactly sure but I'd say easy 25 lanes.
I definately prefer this to any bowling alley I've ever been to.
Wondefully Amazing bowling alley! I have nothing but great things to say about this place. Its located in an area that has tons of restaurants and things to do. You walk in and the first thing you hear is the music and the music videos playing on the big screens. We were celebrating my friends birthday and we arrived there around 8pm. They told us it would be an hour wait and gave us a buzzer.
Unlike lucky strikes, 300 has 41 lanes! The music they play is a mixture of genre's but its stuff that would be played on MTV.
After about 45mins they took us over to the counter to fit us for our shoes and choose our balls. Then they walked us over to our lanes. The price is $8 per person per game and $5 for shoes. The atmosphere is just wonderful. They have the music blowin.....and its dark. They also have private rooms where you can throw a party and bowl separately. They also have a nice menu. Each lane has a designated waiter. I ordered the 300 burger...which was nasty but we also got pizza....which they ran out of so we were only able to order 1..UGH!
I would recommend this bowling alley for anyone who would love to juss chill, jam to music, eat good food, and have a couple drinks at the bar. The staff is very accessible and always around to help. They also validate up to four hours.
We decided to go with a group of friends for an expensive game of bowling one Saturday night. Mr. N and I got to this hellhole before our group of friends, so we went to get a drink at the bar. The place looked pretty nice, but it was dead empty for being a Saturday night. I guess that should have been a sign.
When we ordered our drinks, the bartender asked for IDs....this is where it all went downhill...
The bartender (who must have been born under a rock) looks at my ID and gives it back. He looks at Mr. N's and says:
Stupid Bartender: "Naw dude. This isn't your ID, this guy's Asian."
Mr. N: "Um, it's my ID."
SB: "Naw...this guy is Asian. I don't think I can serve you. The guy in the picture is Asian."
Me: "Excuse me. This is ridiculous. My husband is Filipino!"
SB: "Do you have any other cards with this name on it?" (Referring to the name on the ID.)
Mr. N: "Yeah" (Throws his debit card, other credit cards, and gym ID, all with the same name, onto the bar!!!)
SB: "Uhhh...I can't serve you. This guy on the ID is Asian. You're not Asian. You're going to have to leave."
YEAH. So we asked to speak to a manager. And all she would do was give a stupid $10 off coupon. I asked her to please check the ID, swipe it through one of the ID checkers and she told me they didn't have one of those.
So, what did we learn about 300? RACIST / IGNORANT Bartenders work there and the managers let it slide.
Schmancy bowling? I'm not so sure about those places.
But it's only $3.50 a game! Seriously?! I'm in!
The folks working at 300 seemed oddly overwhelmed by a group of 12 wanting to bowl. I didn't think that was too big of a group to go bowling with, but I guess their process to get you bowling is very complex. Oh wait - it's about the same as every other bowling alley. Except you don't have to spend 20 minutes walking up and down searching the ball racks for the perfect ball, they just give you your perfect ball. That's pretty snazzy.
Also snazzy: they play music videos on giant screens above all of the lanes. Now, I swear this is NOT just the old lady in me talking, it's not even the pretentious indie snob - but the music sucked. I can stand top 40, if it's top 40 from 2008 - not 2002. Or at least 1988. But now - it's was them churning out the hits of March, April and May of 2002. Awesome. (Insert sarcastic eyebrow raise here.)
The bowling was pretty cool, nice lanes and all - elaborate animations after every bowler. Service was nice. But drinks are damn expensive. Seriously. $8.35 for a beer. Why the 35 cents? Is that really necessary? As if the $8 wasn't annoying enough. Also - this place doesn't close to the under 21 crowd ever. 18+ are allowed to stay if they are with something 21+ or maybe 25+. Like a learners permit for bar-going. By now, you should all know my feelings towards teens. Double fucking ugh.
Thumbs Up:
-Nice service.
-Cool video potential.
-$3.50 games on Monday!!
Thumbs Down:
-Teenager quotient of a good 65%
-Beers. $8.35. Absurdity.
-Flashback to the early 2000's. No thanks.
300 Bowl is not a bowling alley.
The name is supremely ironic. No one will ever, ever bowl a 300 at 300 bowl.
As a real, certified (retired) league bowler, I can declare that what happens at 300 Bowl is not bowling. It's throwing a ball down a lane Disco Disco (Good! Good!) style.
I'll admit, I'm spoiled. I grew up in a bowling alley. I received free bowling (and arcade games!) for most of my childhood. I would never, ever, ever, ever.....ever pay $8.00 a line (bowler lingo for a full game). Yet, this is the price for Friday and Saturday evenings. Incredible.
Too loud, too dark, too light, too flashy. I will never again go to this place willingly just to bowl.
As a lounge I'm a little bit softer in my judgment (note, 2 stars for the establishment as a whole). The decor was nice, the food looked excellent, and I overheard the drink prices not being outrageous.
This place would probably be nice for a large group event. But in no circumstances should anyone EVER say "Hey, I want to bowl. Let's go to 300!" Obligatory reference to Spartans here.
300 is fairly new...opened when Anaheim Garden Walk opened not so long ago (i believe in it was in late 07 or early 08') I've been wanting to go to 300 ever since seeing advertisements for it when i visited Anaheim Garden Walk in 08'...
I finallie got the chance to go to 300 last night for a friend's bday. Parking is a breeze, there is one large parking structure on the right next to the Anaheim Park hotel. 300 is on the lower level (level 1) and you have to walk through the parking structure to get through 300, on the right there's 24 hour fitness and on the left is 300.
Once inside 300 right in front of you is the small reception desk where you need to show your ID after 10pm to get a wrisk-band for the purpose of buying alcohol (21 and over) Walk to the right and you will see a bar and a moderate size lounge area in front of it. No need to show your ID at the bar your wrist-band will do the job. We got two Blue Moon for about $16 + tips, not bad considering it was a good size, after all i am not a big fan of beer anyways so any size will do.
Walk further inside and on the right are lounge area seatings with some pool tables and on the left is the bowling alley...with HUGE music videos playing on the wall of each alley (i believe its a big screen with an overhead projector, not LCD) Music is very loud and plays different type....some new hip-hop r&b and some older ones. Overall just a super awesome environment relaxing and fun.
There is a private room with 9 isle, we ended up going in there and only paid $75 per hour for 8 players (that's less than $10 per person to include shoe rentals) that an awesome deal! We were the only group in that private room so we had the place all to ourselves...inside there's a bunch of lounge seatings and even comes with a private bar and of course awesome music and smoke coming out from the ceiling. Such a perfect area to hold a private party with a large group, and not that expensive either!
I enjoyed 300 and definitely plan on coming back, location is just perfect! I love the fact that its literally 15 mins away from home! 300 most definitely stands out from all the other bowling places ive been to...very upscale and a great addition to the wonderful Anaheim Garden Walk.
Thankie you 300 for opening to the OC area...you make me happie. =)
Initially, I was very intrigued. It was like a Vegas night club in the middle of Anaheim. Very loung-y, lots of seating, a full bar. Mostly dark with clubby lights and music and huge tvs playing music videos. We only came in for drinks. Note: Drinks are kinda pricey. It looks like the kind of place that would offer bottle service for 300+ bucks.
The place is nearly empty, but the place has potential. Servers walking around from group to group taking drink orders. Def. intended as a high-end experience. I imagine this place could lure some tourists from Disney.
One month later...
A group of yelpers come back for Roubi's UYE. The parking structure's a bit more filled in, but still plenty of spaces. Down the escalator and into 300. I came preloaded with some alcohol in me. First thought upon walking in: Hmm, there's a lot more people... oh wait, they're teenagers! Isn't there curfew? Hey kids, it's a school night. Do your parents know you're here? Go home. Ugh. Moving on...
There were some delays at the front desk. I don't think they're used to this many people. We finally manage to get the group set up with shoes and balls.
And we bowl. It's loud and dark. Kind of like cosmic bowling, which might be cool, if you're into that. This place isn't really for hard-core, serious bowlers. If your goal is to goof around, I suppose this place is more than adequate.
Ultimately, kind of fun, but with drinks and games costing serious dough, I would not hesitate to pass this place up. Maybe another visit if I can somehow get the activity subsidized.
I've never actually come here for bowling but I did hang out at the bar for a while and played a few games of pool. They have Blue Moon on tap, which makes me a happy camper. Pool was $12 an hour, not too bad, in my opinion and I am so awful at pool anyway that an hour usually does me just fine. I looked over their menu... didn't order anything but it was a HUGE menu for a bowling alley. I'd definitely come back to try the food and bowling. Also, the music was kind of hilarious. Don't ask me to clarify what I mean by that, just take it as fact.
300 was pretty awesome!!
You'll hate this place if you just want to go bowling and are used to the old-school way of doing it!
My first time here, I didn't know what to expect. We walked in on a semi-late Thursday night and it was pretty dead! We ended up playing 2 games with 3 rental shoes and 3 beers (total was about $60 tax + tip so about $20 per person overall).
The place was really nice!! When you first walk in, there's a lounge to your right and the hostess station in front of you. To the left is the rental shoe area. Everything was lit up like the bright lights of Vegas or a lounge or something. Definitely MORE than a regular bowling alley!! There were billiard tables and above the bowling alleys were big screen tv's that were playing music videos!!
Our waitress kinda sucked because she wanted her tip before our game was over and before the place closed -- wow, girl, have some patience!
Overall, I LIKE the fact that it's not JUST a bowling alley! You can sit and have a few drinks, go drunk bowling, or watch music videos!
-1 star for me not breaking 100 :( The lanes are way too smooth I tell you!!
All in all it was a fun time spent with friends! The moment we stepped in there was a lounge area to the right that looked like a Club. Clubbing and bowling all in one place? Sure...
PROs:
- This place is very similar to Strike bowl in Cupertino, CA. Clean and not your typical old school bowling alley.
- After paying for shoes you head over to a an area to pick up shoes and a ball.
- You can custom fit yourself for a ball - depending on how big a hole you want for your fingers and the weight of the ball. They give pink balls to the girls and the man colors for the boys.
CONs:
- somone threw up on the floor of the bathroom enterance (is this a club or what?)
- towards the 9th set all of our balls got stuck in the machine. We weren't able to finish our game. We waited for about 20 minutes for them to fix the machine. We decided not to finish the set. :( They ended up giving us the game for free.
Normally I'd be ashamed to admit that I spent my Friday at a bowling alley but I think I've discovered a place that some may actually consider "cool".
This place is poppin for a soft opening. They don't officially open for another couple of weeks but I guess everyone got the memo that this was the place to be on a Friday night.
Anyway my friends & I only came here to try the food because it's a little pricey to actually bowl. I had the sliders & a trio of fries & although one of the mini burgers was a little charred, I still enjoyed my meal...especially the curry aioli sauce for the fries. YUM!! I also had a lychee lemonade, which is one of their specialty drinks & it was pretty damn good because I could hardly taste he alcohol which is a little dangerous for me...only because it increases the chances of me being carried out.
Big downside that night were all the little kids running around...did some parents confuse this place for Chuck E. Cheese?!! lol
Will I ever bowl a 300? Maybe not but at least i can drink some brews and have a good time in the process! HAHA. If you want to making bowling a little adventure and are tired of your local bowling alleys 300 is the place for you. 300 is pretty expensive for bowling and if your looking for some place to brush up on your game 300 is not the place for you. If you want to feel like your at a party and bowling is 2nd on your mind 300 should be #1 on your list for bowling! Go to 300 and water the seeds you planted!
I said this place is not good for kids because I think it is too nice for them. This place should be for 21 and over only.
They have a full bar, small menu, and a great atmospher. The lanes have green lights in the lane so you can see where to bowl when they dim the lights.
They have tons of employees working to help with everything.
TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY.
We threw a birthday party in the private room. Total came out to be $5,000 for 5 bottles, food that we could have gotten from the frozen food aisle, and 6 lanes cause three were broken.
They refused to let us throw it outside, which would have saved us thousands and the outside lanes were empty. I MEAN COMPLETELY EMPTY unless we wanted to lose our $2500 deposit.
The service sucked. I asked for condiments and she had the nerve to say "we don't put that out unless you request it." s.p.e.e.c.h.l.e.s.s.
Don't go there unless you want to get ripped off.
Walking along the Garden Walk in anaheim, which by the way isn't a garden at all. It always reminds me of that oh so wonderful Specials song Concrete Jungle. Ahhh I love The Specials. Anyways, back to my review. Well 300 is secretly hidden underneath the garden. No worries though you do not have to go underground through some dirt to get here.
Okay now onto my review. Gosh, I write too much. The staff here are super friendly. My cousin did however run into a problem at the bar. I mean I know I do not look my age haha jk, but I am at least over 21. Well I have had food from here and was quite pleased. The bowling lanes are well oiled and very clean sofas as compared to the other popular bowling alley nearby (Lucky Strike). The only bad thing is the price, but if you are with some friends and want to bowl at a nice alley, than stop on by 300 with their exceptional friendly staff you are bound to enjoy yourself. Oh and by the way the music is a downer, I know there is one staff member that thinks the same...lol
Very nice upscale bowling alley. It'd be nice place for a party or group outing. The place is a bit pricier than most other bowling places but you pay for the cool factor. Food is also expensive but that isn't anything unexpected at a bowling alley.
My one complaint is that the lanes seemed dry and I couldn't get as much slide in my bowling. I wouldn't go to this place for "serious" bowling anyway so not so bad.
i bowl here with my mom on Sundays.
it's a little pricier and fancier than the old fashioned bowling alleys but you definitely get what you pay for.
there's no one there during the day and i've never seen "leagues" there.
the service is eh.....sometimes i get a rude server who think everything is an inconvenience.
COME HERE ON SUNDAYS!!!
You're in for a unique bowling expereince at 300. Five stars because they've managed to address everything we hate about bowling...
Unlike similar new generation alleys like Lucky Strike, 300 is all about service. From the minute you walk into the loungy entrance, cute hostesses great you to take you on your experience. They ask your name and shoe size and walk you over to the "ball area" -- I'm talking bowling here of course.
Another attendant asks you to stick your fingers in various bowling ball holes to find the perfect size and weight. Halleluya! Finally, no more sticking my fingers in random ball holes. After they find your ball -- they even carry it to your lane. I felt like I needed tip along the way for the VIP service...
Once at your clean, spacious lane, there are cubbys for your shoes -- helpful after my 4th martini. If you've ever been to Rock-n-Bowl, you'll recognize the dark decor and neon lighting. Music videos play on huge screens right above the pins. Sundays must be 80's/alternative night -- because not a lick 'o hip-hop was played -- boo!~
I don't know if its the nearly perfect ball size or those martinis, but our game seemed to improve after every throw! We got hungry and chowed on a fabulous steak burger and just OK beef empanadas w/ a spicy chipotle sauce. My fav part was that our server brought wipies for our hands! You can eat at your lane or on bar stools overlooking the lane.
Evening bowling rates are $9 per game, $6 for shoe rental -- worth it for all of the VIP services!! Bring in your parking garage ticket for validation.
