Review from Elise V.
I am one to never wake up early enough for breakfast/brunch, but on some occasions, I can muster up the strength to do so.
The location is absolutely gorgeous. Right next to the water and you can enjoy people watching from where you're seated at. I don't think I've been to such a nice place for brunch in a long time.
I was late meeting my friends and didn't look at a menu because I didn't want to make them wait for me any much longer, but I was already sold on their build-your-own breakfast burrito option when I heard Hazel Q. and Andy H. say they were ordering that. I'm sure they have the typical brunch stuff, but I was happy enough to go with building my own breakfast burrito. You get a list and a marker and you check off as many ingredients as you want. When my burrito came out, it was HUGE. I barely made a dent in it before I got full.
Oh, and might I just add, they have a build-your-own Bloody Mary? Uh, win? I had never had a Bloody Mary before, so I was a bit nervous about building my own, so I was fine with having them make it for me.
Service was pretty good. Someone was always coming by to see if we needed anything.
A final note - apparently, at night, this is THE PLACE if you want to meet some cougars. Just sayin'.Listed in: Date Ideas, Brunch, Newport Beach

3-Thirty-3 is definitely a Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde kinda spot. Brunch? Stellar. Well, in a way. They do have some typical brunch fare, but you want to come here for the custom breakfast burritos. You get to build your own burritos a la The Counter and put as many ingredients as you want in that sucker. But be warned - it will be HUGE.
The patio is perfect for a sunny Sunday morning with their rad retractable roof and great service. All this, AND a DIY bloody mary bar? Pinch me, I must be dreaming.
Oh, but wait. Come nightfall this place is crawling with OC Housewives' finest. Yeah. That's the downside.Listed in: Orange County Bars, Sunday Brunch & Things to Do…, Late Night Eats In Orange…, Cocktails in Orange County, Newport Beach Restaurants

Review from Andy H.
I can't recall the last time I went to eat at an upscale restaurant in Newport and had breakfast burrito brunch.
3-thirty-3 lets you make your own burrito Saturday mornings by checking off what you want in your burrito and how you want it. Since I was doing breakfast burritos... I had to go chorizos + mushrooms (w/ other veggies) and it was AWESOME. Normally I wouldn't get chorizo at nice restaurants... I leave that to Albatros or other hole in the wall places, but 3-thirty-3 made a nifty chorizo burrito. It was actually so big that I had to take it to-go.
There's also a build-your-own bloody mary bar on Saturday mornings too. Scenery isn't too bad and the service is decent too.
PS.. word on the block that 3-thirty-3 is cougar central near the bars. -

I really like the decor of this place. The drink menu is nice but not the most creative in my opinion. The late night kitchen is very much appreciated. The crowd is quite interesting, a fair amount of cougars and their male counterparts. Overall, from my experiences there, this is a place that is thoroughly entertaining and worth a visit.
Although I've only been for evening cocktails I'm told it is quite good for lunch. And as it is next to a marina there are some nice boats docked just outside that provide some interesting views while eating. -

After hearing so much about Cougar-ville, I couldn't resist my curiosity, while visiting my bestie in CM, we decided to come see plastic surgery and botox at it's finest!
Stereotypes are there for a reason: because they are true. There was certainly no lack of mid-20's guys in their standard stripe collar shirts AND no lack of mid-40's OC females on the prowl. Lights are dim enough to hide all the wrinkles that botox and excessive makeup couldn't take care of.
Must come at least once to be entertained. -
Review from Rachel T.
Okay... All I ever heard about this place is that it's cougarville ha.
The seafood I think, is mediocre. Just come here for the location and company... I came here during the day, which I think makes a difference. There's great live music and people a-dancin' so the vibe is happy and fun. -
Review from Mai N.
Everything I have heard about this place is true. It is totally cougarific. haha. My friend and I decided to swing by here last sat cuz we were bored. The place was cracking when we got in but it was full of older ladies and younger guys. We were definitely out of place.
The bar was packed so we opted to sit in one of the booths. After waiting a little and realizing a waitress wouldn't be coming by anytime soon, we went to the bar to get our drinks. Vodka soda plus watching all the cougars prowling for younger men was quite fun to see. -

Best Patio In Newport!
If you've been to 3Thirty3 before then you've had a chance to experience the amazing bay view and the bang up social scene that is happening there almost any given day or evening.
The food is always extraordinary with plenty of ways to tantalize your tongue! The calamari is a Tre's Classic that can't be beat, or the Ahi Poke which is my favorite! Most Poke is dry for some reason, but not at Tre's!
Well next time you are at 3Thirty3 you have to try the patio experience! Often times I am with my wife wondering where can we get a great meal and still have a romantic view of the ocean? Tre's Patio is the spot! Many times the bar scene is too much, but somehow the patio is separated from the bar and becomes "Zen" like. I feel like I am at a spa with the huge waterfall wall in between two awesome big screens. That combined with a see through fireplace, and it's like a whole different experience!
This is by far the best patio experience in all of Newport... Hands down!Listed in: Best Happy Hour in Newport…, Breakfast in Newport

Ahh...
Hearing the rumors about cougar- ville i havent yet experienced it. This is a great place to have brunch with friends, nice environment, I recommend sitting by the window.
I ordered the Calamari , it was great. I shared it with my mom, we both enjoyed it. It's a large portion , great for sharing. -

This place on a Friday night is interesting as ALL heck (pardon the French)... I came here with a bunch of co-workers and I mean it looked like everyone was on the prowl!!!
If you're looking for a sugar daddy or heart cougars this is the place for you! My one gripe (I'm shocked about it too) was the old fashioned I ordered was way way too strong for me! They didn't muddle it - who doesn't muddle an old fashioned?! -

I love 3Thirty3! I take all my friends there who've never been. I normally just go on Friday and Saturday nights.
My normal ordering experience includes:
- Filet mignon bruchetta
- Blueberry Martini
- Bananas Foster
Unfortunately, they changed how they do their banana's fosters and I don't like it as much. The presentation took a dive and not as nice. But, I love caramel so I just look the other way.
As for the waiters and staff, they are consistently pleasant. Not to say that they don't have a bad apple now and then. But, overall, it's a place to go to lounge, have appetizers, try some new drinks, while overlooking the waterfront.
For the girls, there are a lot of eye candy here (just sayin'). I'm very happily married but just looking out for all my single ladies :)
See you there in a few weeks!

Review from Chris D.
Donna and I came here today for lunch. We both had the place bookmarked and we wanted to check out the huge xmas tree at Fashion Island so it seemed like a perfect day to eat here! Parking is complimentary valet but it's kind of ridiculous when they park my car in the spot right next to where I hand over my keys. I can't just park there myself??
Decor in this place was great with dark woods and natural stone everywhere. Awesome view of the harbor. We got a window seat and enjoyed the view.
To drink I took advantage of their weekend "build your own bloody Mary bar with your choice of vodka. Michael P. would be proud since I chose Tito's vodka. I swear my glass arrived 3/4th full of vodka. Talk about a heavy pour! Thanks! Once you have your glass of ice and vodka you head on over to the table and make your own creation. I used Worcestershire sauce, green tabasco, horseradish, celery salt, pepper, capers, and tomato juice. I garnished with celery, green olives, and pepperoncinis. It was very good and fun to make. If you're not adventurous enough to make your own they'll make one for you. It's $8.50 and as I mentioned.. a very heavy pour of vodka.
Donna and I started with the "Thai Calamari" which was battered and fried calamari tossed in sweet chili sauce and served with a spicy aioli to dip them in. It's $14 bucks but it was a huge amount of squid. Easily could be shared with 3 or 4 people. We couldn't eat it all. I was disappointed there was no tentacles, it was all rings. I really liked the flavor of this dish. The squid was pretty tender for the most part and the sauce was so good you didn't need the aioli dip. I think they should serve the chili sauce on the side though since tossing the calamari in it made the batter soggy. I still enjoyed it very much though even with soggy batter.... but I can see some people being disappointed in this.
For my meal I used the "make your own burrito" checklist sheet. I had scrambled eggs, spicy ground kobe beef, smokey bacon, tomato, onion, jalapenos, country potatoes, jack cheese, and cheddar cheese served wet with red sauce on top. For $9.95 this was a gigantic burrito and could only eat 70% of it! I thought it was a very tasty burrito and was impressed with all the choices you could pick from. I picked olives too but they didn't put them in. Damn them!
Donna had the monte cristo sandwich which was smoked turkey, ham, and gruyere cheese which is battered, deep fried, and served with blackberry jam. It comes with homemade potato chips. She didn't care for the sandwich very much and it fell apart when she ate it. Her review I'm sure will be less stars. The chips were good but had zero salt on them so she thought they got boring fast.
I enjoyed my meal so I wouldn't mind coming back to try more stuff!Listed in: Bring on the Bloody Mary!

Review from Donna D.
I know Chris gave this place 4 stars but for me it was just Meh! The Thai Calamari was stringy and I got half the string swallowed but the other half was still in my mouth.....GAG! I couldn't get the rest down and almost barfed it all back up. I had to look out of the window at the scenery to get my mind off of it as my eyes started to fill with tears and I tried multiple times to get the danged thing down my throat. That was it! I wouldn't have another bite...besides, the bottom half is sitting in GREASE! Blah!
My entree was probably my downfall. I shouldn't have ordered it but the last time I had it at Le Chateau Garden Bistro is was soooo delicious but at 3 thirty 3 the Monte Cristo Sandwich is was all greasy and tastless....yeah, more grease! I was excited to see that they had homemade chips but they DIDN"T SALT THEM AT ALL! Bummer meal all the way around.
I thought I would fit right in since this place is known as Cougar Town and I am 14 years older then my spouse....but no, maybe that is just Saturday nights. I did however see one cigarrette-wrinkled-fried-faced old tan chic in false eyelashes and bleach blonde hair who looked ridiculous.
What is all the hype about this place? I am not interested in revisiting. -

overpriced, overrated, overcrowded. What do you expect for NPB???? On the upside, hanging at the bar (if you can find SPACE) and watching the hilarity ensue is worth it, most drinks although pricey are at least strong and not watered down, and the TRUFFLE CHIPS make any stop worth it.

The food here leaves a lot to be desired. I think if it were not for the beautiful decor and locale of this establishment it would have a difficult time staying in business. Great place to socialize, but not eat.

Why spend money to go to the zoo, when you can see live cougars in their natural habitat?
I love coming here to people watch. They have the most interesting crowd that comes thru. It's definitely an older crowd and mostly single folks ready to mingle. Lots of hot milfs with boob jobs and loaded old dudes. The best time to come is 1:55 am, right before the bar closes. Why? Because it's fun to see the bar close down and turn on the lights. You hear people just groan and make vinegar faces when they realize the person they were flirting with all night was twice their age!
The restaurant itself is pretty nice. I ordered the slider sampler for some variety. Most of them were pretty good, a little on the greasy side, but that goes well with the beer. It definitely gets crowded here though, so it's a good idea to make reservations. It overlooks the marina, so there's pretty nice views. The bar has pretty fair priced drinks and a good variety. There's usually 3-4 bartenders working, so there shouldn't be any problems getting served.
This place is valet only, so if you want to save a couple bucks, do what I do. I like to park across the street at the business complex with the dentist and real estate offices and walk over. It might look a little ghetto, but it's less embarrassing than getting valet to park your 1988 Honda Civic DX next to the Beemers, Benz and Rolls Royce.
A little about my credentials:
I first got into cooking & food when I was in college. After being rejected by numerous girls and getting zero action, I decided it was time for a change. I needed a new makeover to boost my geeky image. I applied for a cooking position at a Mediterranean-Italia n Restaurant near my home and learned to cook all sorts of pastas and dishes. I never became a professional chef, but 8 years later and 55 lbs heavier, I continue to enjoy & love food. -
Review from Fina M.
This is a fun place for drinks with friends and the food is pretty good!!!
Bar area isn't too loud to have a conversation, music is upbeat, and everyone seems to be having a genuinely good time.
I'm all about the energy of a place and this place has it. Great place to people watch as well and meet some interesting people.
Drinks are served strong. Their cocktail selection is great as well. I usually go with the goose and water but I like to mix it up every now and then and they have never disappointed! -
Review from Donald S.
You had me at "Monte Cristo", the rest was just piling on!
The fact that we had such a great show (and on a lazy Saturday afternoon, at that) was just such a wonderful and unexpected bonus!
The Beautiful Carin and I decided to take our bicycles on a little tour and headed out for a ride around the Back Bay Estuary.
That whole area makes for such a nice ride...so quiet and relaxing...soothing, even!
Well, except when the wanna-be "tour de france" bike racers (all decked out in "team" colors...not their team...still) come blowing by in their "peloton", huffing and puffing, drafting, jostling and just generally being obnoxious about trying to see how fast they can go and how close to unsuspecting pleasure bike riders (like Carin and I, for example) that they can get.
Throttle it back, Lance...you harm a hair on Carin's head (or mine, frankly) and will I sic my meanest, nastiest attorney on you and all your spandex clad support riders...he's on retainer and just itching for something to do...I will own you for the next four generation's...just sayin'
This time, fortunately, no one was harmed in our ride around the bay, and we arrived at the intersection of PCH and Bayside in a peckish mood!
That's when the real fun began!
We parked our bikes and were profusely welcomed at the bottom of the entry stairs by a blonde in her mid-forties, deploying her tightest and most revealing mini-dress...she wasn't an employee of 3T3...she was a patron...a very well served patron...let's call her "Connie".
Tottering on a pair of 5 inch "F*ck Me" pumps (settle down, Carin told me that's what they are called), Connie wobbled uncertainly back up the stairs telling us all about Saturday Brunch and the fabulous "build your own" Burritos and Bloody Mary's!
We have no idea why she was outside leading us in.
She was adorable if you like that sort of MILF meets Cougar meets Botox and Silicone thing.
Connie had clearly camped out at the BM bar for most of the morning and had that special aura that only a six pack of cocktails can provide!
She chatted up nearly every single "single" guy in the place (as well as a few who seemed to be with dates or wives)...Connie was clearly looking for love!
And she might have found it...the atmosphere, location, deck, views, service, food and drinks at 3T3 are all conducive to love!
The contemporary décor feels both welcoming and fashionable...overstuffed contemporary casual...just like me!
And just like my home!
Unlike our new friend, Connie, Carin and I didn't hit the Bloody Mary bar and decided to have our traditional KetleOne marti along with Carin's delicious Cobb salad and my aforementioned Monte Cristo for our lunch.
We enjoyed our well made food and cocktails while we enjoyed the shows...you read that right..."shows"!
No sooner had our cocktails arrived than a second show broke out...this one more planned than Connie's MILF/Cougar show going on at the bar right beside our table.
The planned show had less sex and drama than the "Real Cougar's of Newport Beach" show, but it did have significantly more (and better) music!
The Saturday Brunch Band was a pretty decent "Golden Oldies" band...they played and sang their little hearts out...told a few lame jokes (really, bands should mostly just play their music and sing...they always seem to lose their way when they get into too much "chit-chat" with crowd).
But the music was good, so that was nice!
And we had a very nice and leisurely lunch before we had to get back on the bikes to make our way back home, to lie in the sun by the pool and nap away our marti and food excesses.
3-Thirty-3 stays in the rotation as a great place to spend a leisurely Saturday or Sunday...listening to live music...eating and drinking way too much and watching Connie try to get laid.
Good times!Listed in: The Story of "O" C!

A nice place to meet up with friends for drinks and noshn. The food is creative upscale, out of the ordinary, pub grub: truffle chips, filet mignon carpacio, sliders (pork, filet mignon, ahi, crabcake), kobe burgers, kobe steaks and a variety of seafood.
On the weekends they offer a build your own breakfast burrito, where they give you a "sushi style" list to check off what you want on it... A great hangover cure!
Be sure to sit on the side of the bar that has the view. -

Costa Mesa, CA
Right down the street from my house and definitely a favorite staple in my rotation of bars/restaurants. Get here earlish (around 9) on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday and grab a seat at the bar - better for meeting people and for having conversations with your friends without being in everyone's way as the bar tends to get packed around 10.
The drinks are good - decent wines (a little overpriced) and strong pours on the mixed drinks. The food is good: get the sweet potato fries, the mac and cheese (topped with bacon but I always get it without), the fish tacos, or the sliders (the cheese sliders and salmons sliders are both awesome, and they can substitute the sweet potato fries for the shoestring fries if you ask). The salads are also great and big enough for a light dinner.
A fun place to come for brunch on the weekends - right on the water and you can sit by the window on couches or at the high tops. Create-your-own breakfast burritos let you pick all your favorite stuffings (eggs, beans, crab, shrimp, chicken, etc.) and they have a fun create-your-own Bloody Mary bar although I am a mimosa girl myself. They often have live music for brunch, but it can get a little loud for the space so don't sit right by the band if you are interested in having a conversation with your date.
As for the reviews that say this place is "OC", it is a bit of a scene, but as it is located on PCH in Newport I think this is to be expected. Hang out with your company and avoid the d-bags (you can spot them a mile away) and you will have a great experience.Listed in: Bottoms Up

Okay look. I don't "hate" the OC scene at places like this. When I came here on a Saturday night for the first time a few months ago, the door guy advised me: "Find a good place to sit, and just watch the people who come in." Any establishment that doesn't take themselves seriously like that can't be half-bad.
But it IS a scene, make no mistake about that. If you are under 30 - heck under 35 - and aren't compelled to try hard to be reasonably attractive, a place like this will make you feel better about your life. There is roadkill, and then there is OC roadkill, and you'll find the latter variety here at midnight on a Saturday night.
I was recently here on a Sunday night, which was a welcome break from what I usually encounter. It was mellow, half empty, and I got to enjoy the company of a small group of friends. Now THAT is the best way to experience this place.
I would actually like to come back to try their brunch. I might find a reason to go back without having to be convinced by someone else! -

All I'd ever heard about 333 was that it's a cougar bar and I wasn't expecting good food. I went on 2 dates (with 2 different people, come on people I wouldn't date someone THAT unoriginal) here and I LOVED it! The drinks were strong and the food is amazing. I highly recommend the calamari, filet mignon bruchette, and seared ahi.

Happy Hour Happiness =)
Came in with my cousin to hang out and munch on some happy hour food. We ended up get a glass of champagne and the seafood trio platter. The seafood platter came with some delicious calamari, coconut shrimp, and crab cakes (photo included). Serious Yum.
Our total was $23. The service was great. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very nice and attentive. We came on a Tuesday around 6pm and there was a good amount of people. Mostly older dudes and cougars. It was interesting watching the elderly woman alone at the bar tryna pick up guys. Great entertainment. We shall be back soon. -

I went here last night for a birthday dinner with my boyfriend. Parking was good, complimentary valet and the place was easy to find. We said in the indoor patio and the view was beautiful just as the sun was setting. I loved the food, we got ahi tuna and swordfish. Delicious!! The waitress was a floosy and didn't really care about helping us. She would come over and ask how something was and before we answered she would say ok and walk away. It was strange. I took off one star for this. I would come back but only if the service was better. Also the drinks were way too strong, I wouldn't order it again.
Note to management: Hire customer service orientated waitresses. -

I came here for a friend's birthday dinner one night and it was super packed. Their food is pretty good here - don't get the clams on the appetizer menu though. It's just eh.
This place gets really crowded after dinner, and that's when you start to see all the interesting people. I can definitely say that it attracts a diverse crowd. :)
Great venue but very small. Come for a late dinner and you'll ensure you have a table to sit for drinks after when the crowd sets in - because there will likely be no room to walk! -

Went there a couple of times while we were in Newport Beach. It's one of the few places that is open past ten during the week that serves food and good grub too. If you're looking for eye candy, you will see it and the cocktails are good too. Valet is free plus tip (so make sure you take care of the valet).
They do have cool free postcards and the harbor view is cool too. BTW, they have an awesome bottle opener they sell in the shape of a fish.
If we were to come back to this area, we will be back!! -

you're not a 60 year-old benefactor? no problem. you're not a cougar or puma on the prowl? no problem. you don't own a yacht or drive a bentley? no problem.
truth is, we all can dine here. cougar is an overly used term. what would you rather see? a 55 year-old woman who takes good care of herself (whether or not she's been surgically enhanced) or the same person who hasn't cared for herself through the years? 55 is kinda the new 35 now. do you know that Christie Brinkley is 57? who would dare call her a cougar? besides, where are patrons of that age group supposed to hang out anyhow?
why i'm here... the view is outstanding. the remodel brought a very fresh decor with subtle hues of autumn. lots of medium wood tones throughout. even the ceilings are decked w/ geometrical wood designs. the bar is amazingly spacious. fuschia gerber daisies smile upon you as you dine.
SALMON SALAD was quite delish. i initially was ogling the monte cristo; however, after being informed that it was "fried," i was deterred from ordering it. as one would imagine, the transition from a fried monte cristo to a salad is almost 180 degrees. the romaine lettuce of the salad was very fresh, and the bits of sun dried tomato added a nice texture to the dish. NOTE: no lunch specials here.
service was great. not too pushy, and was available when we flagged our waitress/ bartender. just an awesome place to grab lunch and enjoy the sunshine in lovely Newport Beach. i hear that night-time dining can be a totally different experience though. please see paragraph one. cheers!
3.25 stars for food & of course, the view & new decor bumped it to 4 stars!Listed in: Hidden Gems, Stunning Views

Went for Sunday brunch with a party of six. We were seated in a casual conversation area with ample couch seating and low table. Plenty of room for the six of us and the view of the bay was amazing. Don't miss the build-your-own Bloody Mary bar. Everything you need for the perfect brunch starter. The made to order breakfast burritos are delicious and huge! If calories aren't a problem, try the Monte Cristo sandwich. Delish! Service is attentive and personable. Friendly crowd, casual atmosphere. Lots of local clientele, but also the perfect place to impress out of town guests.

Went here with my dad for their weekend brunch. They offer a "Make You Own Burrito" special, where you customize your burrito with what you want! Considering how pricey some of their menu items are for dinner or lunch of other days, their brunch is worth it!
Great quality food and a good amount of it. They have a variety of meats, vegetables, toppings, eggs, and if you don't want a burrito they do have a few other options. However I suggest to take advantage of this brunch special.
The service was great too, probably since it was early on a Sunday Morning and it wasn't too busy.
I also love the interior of the place and how you can see the boats in the harbor. having the choice of being inside, or transforming it into an outdoor meal by moving the roof and opening the windows if pretty cool too.
Can't speak for the regular menu, but weekend brunch is good! -

Great food! Amazing chef specials! A new favorite spot for brunch by the water. Calamari is a must-order probably the best I've ever had to date. I'm here for brunch but I had their swordfish last night with the lobster ravioli on top- AMAZING. Bussers are quick and keep things clean and moving- only thing that needs work is the slow waitresses! Greet us, take our order, check on our food, bring the check!! Get.It.Done! All around a staple for OC restaurants!

I'm going to start off by saying that one of my best friends is the manager here, so I always get excellent service. But even if I didn't know Drew (my manager friend), I would still love this place. First of all, the food is amazing. They have these bacon-wrapped dates that are to die for. And filet mignon bruschetta? Heck yeah!
As far as the ambiance goes, I've gotta say I love that, too. It's a fun place to go on the weekends and the crowd is upscale and older. Since my girlfriends and I are in our 30s, it's a good fit. You can socialize and mingle if you want, but you can also just enjoy your dinner without anyone bothering you, too.
I've always had a really great time when I've gone here. For us, it's a great place to start the night...have some dinner and a few cocktails, and then see where the night takes us. -

Food: kind of pricey. For the amount of food you get, it's more on the pricey end. I ordered the filet mignon sliders. The meat was a bit dry, and there wasn't much flavor to it. The French fries was the best part. The Mac n cheese was just okay as well. If you're a huge Mac n cheese lover, you'd be disappointed.
Drinks: ordered the Bellini and lemon drop. Both strong drinks, so that was a plus!
Atmosphere: an older crowd. You will definitely see the older cougars out on the prowl. Great place to people watch, and a good laugh. -

So here is my experience at 3-Thirty-3. It was little sister's Birthday last week. As a family we decided to go to 3-thirty-3. My sister had been there for the Bloody Mary brunch on Sundays and really enjoyed it so she wanted to go for her Birthday. As a family we were 9people. So my sister called the week prior and made reservations for the large party. So far , so good.
We get there, granted we were a tad bit late for our reservation. We had to wait for one of our party to drive down from Santa Monica. Two of my sister's girl-friends were there on time and had to wait in the lobby next to the hostess stand. Whilest waiting they were repeatedly asked by the restaurant manager "Drew" to keep calling and texting us while we were on the road. By the time we arrived we were twenty min late. We apologized to everyone.
You would think that Drew was in such a hurry to seat us, he would have a table ready, Nope!
We had to wait another ten minutes before he showed us to our table. Not to mention the huge attitude we had to get from this guy! Lets just say that it matched his enormous bald head!
Once we were seated, we were told that we only had one hour to order, eat and leave the dinning room!!!!
Yep! that's right, we had to 1hour to have dinner and leave the dinning room. When we asked why, he said that was because they had to close down that side of the restaurant at 9:30 because one of the neighbors whose mansion overlooks the Newport Harbor was complaining to the City of New Port Beach about the light and noise coming from the restaurant at night. So somehow this feud with a citizen of New Port Beach became OUR problem!
**the food was average California/seafood style cuisine. Menu consisted of Fish Tacos, Fish &Chips, Sliders, Salads, Calamari etc.
it was the best part of the evening and that is not saying much.the only reason they got 2stars.**
Since it was my sisters birthday they brought her a slice of cake, but none of the staff came to sing or clap or anything. Then before we could finish singing Happy Birthday to her we were being shuffled out of there. My sister had to carry her cake out of the dinning room. It was such an Embarrassment!!!
So we were rushed out of the dinning room by the manager Drew at 9:30pm. It was so disgusting the way we were " thrown out" of there and had to settle our bill at the hostess table.
After settling the over $400.00 bill, we were told we had to go wait by the Bar for one hour before we could be seated at our table in the bar.
So all 9 of us were herded in to an already packed bar. Not to mention it was full of pretentious, Newport beach wanna-bees, wanna-bee house wives and desperate old Cougars.
( so sad and disgusting)
We tried to find somewhere to stand and wait for our table. (had this not been my sister's Birthday Party, I would taken my group to another one of Newport beach's restaurants.)
We all squished in next to the bar and tried to order drinks. we were standing right behind the people that were seated but, It was like we were standing in a hallway because all the cocktail waitresses and buss boys kept squeezing by us.
In addition to having some girl spill her drink down my side, we couldn't even talk to one another or hang. It was total ZOO ! Wild animals and all.
It was so packed that we couldn't enjoy my little sister's birthday. We were shuffled around like a bunch of cattle and the management and staff were surprised that we weren't stoked on the service.
We easily ended up putting over a thousand dollars into that place that evening and I would have gladly payed double that for a place with good customer service.
On the way out of the place, some poor drunk girl had fallen down the stairs and instead of helping her up and making sure she was OK, I spotted Drew standing at the top of the staircase just watching her. there were also two huge bouncers that were standing with their backs to her instead of giving her a hand. That goes to show you the whole mentality of that place. thoughtless, arrogant, and mean.
3-Thirty-3 , was by far the Worst experience I have ever had dinning out in Orange County.
Just because there is a line at the door , to get into the bar, doesn't mean its a place that deserves you as a patron. Please, Don't be sheep.
**Please Support the fine restaurants and bars in Newport Beach. Don't Pay to be treated like cattle and suffer with Poor Service.** -

3 Thirty 3 is a good time. We arrived via boat in the harbor. There is alot of boat parking, but you have to walk around to the front. I also noticed a trio of valets out front if you come in a car.
We had reserved an area with a harbor view. It was very clean and comfortable. It was Sunday and there was a decent music trio playing live.
Drinks cost 2-3 dollars more than most bars we go to but are nice and strong. The food is great. There are lots of TVs to watch the games. The crowd is hilarious!! Lots of bored rich people. They people are friendly though and they all know eachother for the most part. The bathrooms convos I overheard was LOL amazing! I would describe this place as casual but upscale. A meat-market for the plastic surgery crowd.
This is a good place to come if you have a few hours to relax and wish you were rich. -

Cougartown!
This is an excellent place to go if you say yes to at least one of the following:
- Do you like people watching as if it's National Geographic?
- Are you 40+ yrs old divorced woman on the hunt for younger guys esp those in their 20s?
- Are you a male in your 20s or 30s looking for a sugar mama?
- A friend of someone from any of the above.
This place can be interesting if you are with the right kind of people. It's definitely a place that people go to see and be seen. I've had good times and and I've had meh times.
To the hostesses: Smile a little. Don't be so obvious that you hate your job. Don't be rude either. Sorry I'm not a 50yr old dude that can potentially be your next sugar daddy.
p.s.
Their clam chowder is delicious! =D -

I've seen a lot of restaurants come and go from this corner, so 3Thirty3 must be doing something right.

Our boat is in a marina slip just a few steps away,, so you can find me here for lunch or dinner several times a week in summer.
The build-your-own burrito breakfast on weekends is OK.
Food is always outstanding and well priced for Newport Beach.
Service is usually pretty good, but often the girl bartenders and servers get caught in a loooong talk-a-thon with another customer and can be neglecting, indifferent to ignoring or screw ball attitude,,, and always slow.
Well run and clean, up-to-date modern, comfortable property with a nice energy and vibe.
Most trendy places like the 3 30 3 would have come and gone long ago.
The reason they carry on and are still a top place to go is perhaps they have the great menu, atmosphere, friendly (though slow) service,, but most of all,, they're very good at spotting then kicking out the assholes,, making a great quality of life situation for everyone.
Lot's and lot's of celibs and sports figures hang out here mid-week late afternoon to early evening at or near the west end of the bar.
Seem to always see someone famous from movies, TV or sports dining and having a drink or two.
A class act, I've never had a bad experience here,, ever. -

We went here on a Sunday morning when we had a kid free morning. We wanted to try the build your own breakfast burrito bar and build your own bloody mary bar. We got there around 10, valet parked and got seated right away at a high top right in front of the beautiful bay windows overlooking the water - score!
The build your own burrito is an order form format like the Counter. You can choose if you want it with or without eggs, you get to choose one meat which has many options like chorizo, bacon, ham, spicy ground beef, chicken, etc. If you want more than one meat, it's 1.25 more per addition. Then you can choose as many veggies as you want. You can choose one cheese or a mix of all the cheeses. Last you can add extras like homemade refried beans or guacamole for another 1.25 extra. You design it and they build it!
I got eggs, steak, mixed cheeses, refried beans and enchilada type sauce on the side. I also added in onions. Hubby got eggs, chorizo, potatoes, mixed cheeses. We both were completely thrilled and satisfied. They were just perfect, no lie.
Next for the tasty bloody marys, we got the glass served to us with the vodka in it and we had to walk over and choose from all the selections of wonderful add-ins. I put the tomato base sauce, Tabasco, lime juice, Worcestershire, seasoning salt, pepper, olives, onions, asparagus, beans and who knows what else but it was perfect and I loved it. Hubby made his own concoction and he was equally as happy with his mix.
Wonderful experience, great food, awesome service, not crowded and priced to please. It's all good, we will be back for sure!
