I felt the selection of yogurt flavors was excellent.  I always think there can be more toppings, but the selection of toppings they have on hand is pretty good.  They have a nice selection of fruit toppings.  If you want a banana just ask.  They don't precut them as they become brown quickly.

Located right on Mass in Lawrence the location is ideal.  I'd give the product four stars and the service three and a half stars.  Oh I did notice for those interested they are Kosher as well.  So all my Hebrew brothers and sisters can enjoy to their heart's content.

    Four stars.

I had recently been to OrangeLeaf (the other self-serve, buffet-of-toppings frozen yogurt in town) and, since I love a frozen dessert as much as, and maybe a little more than, most, I wanted to compare.  3 Spoons has around 10 flavors of low-fat and non-fat frozen yogurt and a ton of toppings (all self-serve), just like Orangeleaf.  Overall, the flavors that I tried (cake batter and cheese cake) were good, but the texture of the non-fat was a little grainy (the non-fat at OrangeLeaf had a smoother mouth feel to me). So, in my mind, OrangeLeaf wins for product texture, but the downtown location of 3 Spoons, with seats that face Mass, is a definite bonus for the location.  The staff was friendly as well, and volunteered information about the punch card rewards program.

Other than the slight graininess of the fat-free flavor (and maybe I should be happy that there was something fat-free that tasted even remotely like cheesecake), my only complaint is that fact that they only have 16oz cups...that is a little too much frozen delight for this girl (but this was the same issue at OrangeLeaf).

Over all, a fine, slightly healthier alternative to other frozen dessert places (as long as you do not fill your jumbo cup to the brim) in a great location, just keep in mind if you want something creamy, avoid the non-fat flavors.

Fat-free = you can eat a bucket, right?  Good, because that's the smallest size they offer.  They have a good selection of flavors, which I love to mix and match.  Had the Tahitian Vanilla, Cheesecake and Oreo Cream recently.  They have great topping variety with fruit, candy bars, nuts and syrup.  The toppings are nicely chopped for sprinkling (unlike my recent trip to OrangeLeaf where I was putting literally 1/2 a candy bar on my sundae).

At $0.38 per oz. the price can rack up quickly. Expect to pay ~$5 per sundae.

It had been a long time since me and my husband had frozen yogurt, but decided after dinner one day to try this place- surprisingly delighted! We went for the red velvet which was delicious, with a couple of toppings. We'll definitely be back! :)

Wide variety of flavors, lots of toppings, and you get to serve yourself, which is nice with all the choices.

I have only been here once, but I enjoyed it. I made myself a bowl of golden cake batter, cookies and cream, and roasted peanut butter. It looked like all the flavors (about 10, maybe more, available each day) are low-fat or non-fat, which is nice. I think all the nutrition facts are listed, too. I thought all the flavors were good, though the cookies and cream was subtle, but maybe just compared to the cake batter. As a fan of regular ice cream and frozen custard and all things bad for me, I think this is an excellent substitute if you're watching what you eat. And even if you're not!

Update: red velvet and Reese's are also good - DO NOT get Chocolate Desire. I cannot put my finger on what it tastes like exactly, but I have decided that it's a flavor that desires to be chocolate, but fails.

That said, maybe be cautious with the toppings. But since you can apply your own, you can as stingy or generous as you want. They have most every topping you would expect to find, and more. Lots of fruit toppings.

I filled my bowl (they are kind of huge) about halfway, and it cost me $4. A little pricey, maybe, but the freedom to serve yourself is kind of nice.

The yogurt is way too runny and sweet. Orangeleaf is so much better and only a single cent more expensive per oz. too. The toppings here are great, but the yogurt lacks so much I won't be returning. The machines always seem to be broken too.

I think people get deceived by DIY frozen yogurt shops like this. Sure, it's fun to create your own dessert, but in my opinion you end up paying a lot more for sub-par frozen yogurt. The flavors here are watery and synthetic - they remind me of those hard fruit candies. The only one I could stomach was the original tart, but even that was really icy and melted quickly. They do offer lots of toppings (fruit, chocolate, candy, you name it) but if I'm paying to get low fat frozen yogurt, is it really justifiable to pile on tons of candy instead? I'd rather skip the low fat altogether and get something creamy and flavorful instead.

This place has a good amount of yogurt, good amount of toppings, and you can mix and match as you please. And its not too expensive, as long as you don't overload your cup.

My only issue with the place is that they should offer a smaller cup so that you aren't as tempted to overload everything.

Yummy place, we will definitely return.

Make your own yogurt.  Grab a bowl, fill it, top it, pay, eat it!

Simple, low fat, tasty!  Wish there were more nationwide.

I love this place! They have 14 flavors of yummy yogurt and I have visited a few of their locations and they are all sooo good. The reason I go for this over the alternative is simple- IT IS SOOO GOOD! I also dig the fact that they aren't a super corporate yogurt shop, it feels more personal. My fav is usually Tahitian vanilla, raspberries, coconut, and caramel. It tastes like a cloud I promise!

Stopped in today during the Busker Fest as it was sweltering. This a good replacement for Yummy's, which recently closed. I chose York Peppermint Patty frozen yogurt with m&ms, and it did not disappoint. The peppermint patty flavor was super refreshing on a hot day. Will be back to try more flavors!
