This is the best bbq on the Eastside. I usually get a beef brisket or pulled pork " piglet" sandwich with hot sauce. Both are good. I prefer the brisket which is weird for me because I usually prefer white meats like chicken or pig, over cow. Their hot bbq sauce really steals the show. Honestly, I don't know how much I'd like the sandwich without the sauce and I feel truly great bbq doesn't need the sauce. It works here because the sauce is pretty darn fantastic!!!!
I've had their beans, potato salad and coleslaw. The beans are smoky, sweet and a little spicy. I really like them. The slaw and potato salad are nothing fancy but both do the trick.
Since good bbq is hard to find in Washington, I'll take 3pigs when I need my bbq fix. -

I was in Bellevue and had heard great things so I decided to try it. They have a large menu with many items to choose from. I ordered a combo plate so I could sample a few different items. The pulled pork and beef ribs were great. The sauces were also good. The sides needed some work. All of the sides( coleslaw, potato salad, and Mac salad tasted mainly of mayonnaise. The corn bread was dry and tasted salty.
If you decide to eat here stick to the meats and skip the sides. -

I went here for lunch today to assuage a bbq craving. 3 Pigs is a nice, comfy spot. No super-trendy decor, just great food and friendly service. You'll want to keep a few things in mind:
1. They offer 2 (or maybe 3) sandwich sizes. The small was the perfect size for lunch.
2. Their bbq sauce is of the tangier variety. If you like sweeter bbq, you may want to go elsewhere.
3. You might want to ask for your bbq sauce on the side. Sounds wussy, I know, but better than eating at work and getting totally goopy. -

I'd heard terrific things about 3 Pigs BBQ and was very excited to try it, so I thought I would stop in for lunch to go. I ordered the 1/2 chicken and took it back to my office (only 5 minutes away). Despite the great bbq sauce, it was, by far, the driest chicken that I've *ever* eaten. (Hint: Just because you put sauce on it doesn't mean that the meat will reconstitute.)
In addition, the cashiers couldn't even be bothered to give us a smile or be friendly...pretty much treated us like the order number we held in our hands.
Sorry, never again...there are many other great restaurants in Bellevue who are more deserving of my hard-earned money. -

This Place Is AWESOME, Great Food & Decor... Friendly Staff.
If I may Borrow from the Wisdom of Tabatha Coffey though, they should Really focus on being a restaurant and NOT try to divide their resources on Schtick Items.
Other than that, I'm not sure what is up with the Reviews that are Below 4 Stars. -

I'm not entirely sure how long 3 Pigs has been around, but it's been there as long as I've been going to Bellevue (10+ years). A buddy of mine from Microsoft introduced me to this place many years ago and I've been stopping by for lunch ever since. If I'm passing through Bellevue around noon this is on the top of my list to stop for lunch. Now the BBQ isn't really out of this world, but it's darn tasty and consistently the same every single time.
I always fall victim to my habits and order the exact same thing every time. Texas size pulled pork sandwich w/ hot sauce, side of potato salad, side of beens. The beens are good, and mixed with the potato salad even better! I love the texture and creamy of the potato salad.
The pulled pork is never overly dry or dull, always moist and with flavor. They have an included peperoncini and pickle bar which I love.
Lunch can be VERY busy as there is limited seating inside. During the summer they have a couple patio tables which are awesome to sit outside in the nice weather and eat. There are always TV's with sports and news playing. Oh, and they typically have beer on tap!
My only gripe is the price, it's high. Lunch with everything I described above and small soda is $13-14. Always get the small soda for dine-in as the refills are free. -

This place is decent. If you've read any of my other posts, you might have pegged me as somewhat of a bbq snob, I'm sorry, what can I do when I've experienced Texas BBQ?
Probably one of the better spots we've had in this area so far, it definitely "feels" a bit like the south but I can't bring myself to calling it good. I got the "boss-hog" a combo of brisket and a hot link. Both were adequate, enough to have without bbq sauce (my definition of good bbq) but the brisket was also dry, pushing me to have to dip a couple times before the end.
Still looking for a local quality BBQ place in Seattle, someone please give me a nudge! -

I ran into this Barbecue place after a visit to my credit union. My first thought was I haven't had barbecue in a long time. I entered 3 pigs barbecue and noted all the pig stuff. I thought cute.. I looked over the menu and noted that stuff isn't cheap. I hope it's good. I placed my order with a side. I'm really not sure if I was charged extra for it. I was asked what side I wanted. If I go back I'll be sure to note if I was charged since the way this was presented to me I was given an option with my meal.
The food was awesome in my opinion. The bread was fresh, I had just the right amount of meat. I liked the zinggy barbecue sauce. Sure it's a little expensive but I guess I'd be suspicious if it hadn't been considering the type of food. -

I have been craving for a pulled pork sandwich so this place really hit the spot!
Came here during lunch hour on a weekday. Although there was a long line at the cashier to order, the line went pretty quickly due to multiple cashiers. To be clear, the line is for both take out and eating in.
The pulled pork was nice and warm, and the sauce was sweet and tangy. I LOVED it. Next time I want to try their chili and corn bread (which looked awesome).
Yeah, its on the pricy side. 2 sandwiches (which includes a side for each) plus 1 drink = approx. $21.00, but I would much rather pay a few extra dollars for something that I enjoy and is good.
Will be back... -

sorry, very sorry - I used to like this place but went last night and I wont go back
1: the food wasn't very good...not bad, just not great
2: the HOT sauce was boring and bland, even my young kids didn't think it was remotely spicy
3: prices were a tad high...my 2 boys and I (preteen) with NO DRINKS dropped $32 for 3 BBQ sandwichs...that were not that great
4: this is the one that has me thinking I wont go back - I felt deceived - when we ordered our sandwich we were asked "what side would you like with your sandwich" we said "what choices to you offer" a sign was pointed out....we chose
when the total $ didn't add up (while waiting for our food to arrive) we came to the realization there was an error. Went to ask - THEN were told the sides were $2/ea ADDED ON -
I would really like to know when something is included (as the order taker somewhat suggested by the words) or when it is an add on cost
words like
"Would you like to ADD a side"
are better then
"What side would you like WITH your sandwich"
in the end - I'm not returning to a place I used to enjoy going to...I am heading to Stan's....very good, actually excellent AND they have good beer on tap!!! (try the Lucille or Manny's) -

I've eaten at 3 Pigs for more than 20 years and I've always felt their food was good.
Couple days ago, I was eating lunch about 2:30 PM and received a phone call on my cell phone. Hung up after about a 2-3 minute talk. At that point, the owner came over, was very angry, and told me he would throw me out if I ever screamed at the top of my lungs with a cell phone while in his resturant.
Fearing I had disrupted other customers, I approached two men at the table next to me and apologized if I disturbed them. They said they didn't even notice that I was on a cell call.
When I finished eating,I approaced the owner, told him I had thought about what he had said and decided it was probably best that I stopped going to his place. He glared at me, obviously very angry, and said that he thought that was probably best.
Business must be good when you can treat your loyal customers that way. I will never go back to the 3 Pigs. I'll miss the food, but not the owner. -

Pretty good bbq, not too generic. Overpriced for what it is, but I can appreciate well cooked meat as well as a good bbq sauce with some kick. These guys do at least that much correctly.
loaded baked potato is delicious, and their sides are all worth trying too. -

It felt a tad pricey the first time I walked in, so I just got a baked potato. Oh my gosh!!! Best baked potato EVER!!!
So I thought to myself... let's try this again some other day, and get some of this delicious smelling meat. I'm not a huge barbecue lover, but man oh man did that sandwich hit the spot!! I got the 1/4lb, and I thought it looked a little small, but it was quite filling! I got the hot sauce, which was just the right amount of hot. That sandwich didn't last more than five minutes, maybe not even three!
Potato salad was delicious as well. Creamy with good texture.
Wish they had air conditioning, because it was soooo hot!! The staff is wonderful, and the gentleman that owns the place is very nice and obviously knows what he is doing.
I will be back to try more! So much on the menu looks good! It will probably be an occasional treat since the meals are about $10 each, which is a little out of my casual lunch price range. Subway is right next door, but they have nothing on 3 Pigs!! If you're a meat lover, or you just need a great baked potato, give these guys a shot!! -

This is just like the barbecue my mom used to make. Before you get excited about that I'll let you know that my mom can't really cook all that well.
Her barbecue ribs usually consisted of her throwing ribs in the oven with a little pepper on it and slathering it with low-end sauce right before it was ready. Her barbecue only improved when she started dating a guy who put a lot more finesse into his cooking. After that it went from being edible to enjoyable.
As was hers, so is 3 Pigs. I decided to go for a BBQ rib plate which consisted of two or three ribs, your choice of corn bread or Texas toast (a thick slice of bread), and your choice of two sides. I went with the corn bread and macaroni salad and corn on the cob as sides.
As I said earlier in the review the ribs quickly reminded me of my mom's cooking. My corn bread was so dry that I took one bite of it and I was done. So gritty. So dry. No. I didn't expect much from the corn because it is the middle of February. I mean come on it's corn in winter. The macaroni salad was decent.
On top of the 'whatever quality' BBQ are the prices at this restaurant. My friend and I barely made it out for about $37 for the both of us.
Of note is also the lack of proper dessert options for a BBQ joint. What self-respecting BBQ joint only has cookies and brownies for dessert? Not a cobbler nor a pie amongst them.
I wish I could give different ratings for the food versus the staff! Unlike the food, the staff here are wonderful and friendly.
I may as well ask my mom to make me some ribs. -

FTW...as Charlie Sheen would put it.." WINNING"
So as i made the trek here during work, cause those damn pictures you guys posted made me hungry....
As walkin in thru the door, ur immediately SMACKED in the face with that pure smoky-ness smell of meat...NOW...the problem was wat do i want to eat...well...i ordered the pulled pork sandwich ( WINNNING), side of coleslaw, and the next day i ordered ribs...(WINNING)...SO..after 4 days straight of eatin at this joint, i have to say it was the best...for not having to go to the eastcoast for some bbq....
the service is excellent, the timing and porportions serving was excellent...decor has that nice touch of home, pictures up, and trophies of competition that they've won or entered...
mos def im commin back, i juss prolly wouldnt eat there ( personally) i work retail....so i dont think it would be a great idea for me to go back to work smelln like bbq...or somebody might lick me... -

So, remember what I said before about the chicken being a little dry? SCRATCH THAT! I went back yesterday and the chicken was peeeerrrffeeeecctt. Perfectly cooked PLUS slathered with delicious bbq sauce. i literally had nothing but bones left on my plate and extra bbq. It was finger-lickin' good. This might be my favorite place to eat.
Also, I ordered beans again (which I always get here because they're so good), and this time I even tried a side of the chili! I never noticed that option before! It's equally delicious. I seriously think I could eat at 3 pigs bbq every day of my life and be happy (and maybe a tad overweight). Good thing it's not cheaper, otherwise I might actually eat there every day.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I wanted good bbq but ended up here. It was mediocre at best. The beef ribs were tender but had an off flavor. The pork ribs were slightly better. The side salad looked like it was of the fresh express variety and the corn bread muffin tasted like sawdust. I expected more for the $18.00 it cost me for 5 ribs and two small sides. I will not be back.

Review from Stef M.
What can I say? Juicy meat slathered with sugary bbq sauce. The cornbread is good. The employees aren't super friendly, but they're not surly or anything. There are lots of stuffed pig toys all around the cash register. The slaw is tasty. I usually try to go the "healthy" route and get a BBQ chicken breast. They can be dry, so kudos to this place for keeping it moist and juicy.
The inside definite has an "It Came From The Seventies" vibe. Sometimes you're just in the mood for some 'cue. And this is the best place in Bellevue, unless you like being verbally abused while you order. THEN you should go to Dixie's. -

A-OK. Maybe I am a Texan and a little snob for BBQ.
Pricy for just a lunch sandwich.
Portion is small.
Crowded during lunch, hard to find a seat.
I need somewhere where you order meat by the pound. -

The smoked turkey sandwich was pretty OK. I'd get it here again, but doubt that I'd recommend it to friends. Also, "Texas-sized" - not really. I've lived in Texas, and any real Texan would've hog-tied the server for calling it that, and had six bullet-holes in the sign before you could say "porn-star-state".
Anyways, everything was fine - I enjoyed both my sandwich and cole slaw, even though it was all a little expensive. Nothing knocked my socks off.
Also of note, exactly 16% of the customers in there (I counted) were pregnant. Weird. -

yumm....BBQ. This is a great place to watch the game and chow down on some great BBQ!
Had the pork ribs, beef ribs, pulled pork sandwich, and most of the sides. I have to say that the pulled pork sandwich was pretty amazing, good thing they gave me a bib, because their food is finger lickin good! -

It's not the worst place, it's definitely not the best place.
Pros: Sauce is yummy. Staff is nice enough. Potato salad is good. Husband said hot link was good.
Cons: Overpriced. Small portion of bbq pork. Fatty, strangely chopped bbq pork. Not enough sauce on sammich. Wretched coleslaw. Took one bite and set down, never to be picked up again.
Might try again just because of proximity to home. Next time I'll make the drive to Olympia for Ranch House. -

Came here for lunch one day to try out some good bbq in the Bellevue area. First thing I saw walking in was their specials sign which featured a sandwich called The Boss which had your choice or pork, beef, or chicken with a hot link. I knew I had to try it. The sandwich itself was really big that I ate half of it only and saved the rest for my fiance back at work. I also had a side of potato salad and bbq baked beans. Both was just 'OK' which I've had better at other bbq places.
Overall it was something good to try but nothing to wow over. -
Review from Marc M.
So, I made two visits here before writing a review just to make sure and I must say this place goes on my short list of quality BBQ restaurants in the Seattle area. For one thing, the list of all BBQ restaurants in the Seattle area is short to begin with, but a really good one isn't real easy to find. I have had some bad BBQ, believe me.
Walking in the door, you are immediately hit with two things...the wonderful aroma of BBQ and Seattle sports plastered all over the walls. The food was great, the atmosphere was upbeat and friendly thanks to both the wait staff and what seems like a steady stream of regular customers.
I will definitely be making more return trips to sample other items like the ribs and chicken that both looked pretty darn tasty as I was gazing at other people's plates when they walked by with their orders.Listed in: BBQ

Oh my gosh before i had taken to the long ardous process of making my own Eastern NC style BBQ sauce and slow cooking (18 hrs) the pork and making my own dixie slaw. This was and is the place to go for all your BBQ needs. Ok, they dont do Eastern NC but very few do. But what they di they do GREAT!. My only fault - every BBQ place ive been to in the country does some version of banana puddin'. All they have are candy bars - boo. I dont care if its instant with four slices of banana and 2 nilla wafers. Make some puddin'. You will appease the masses.

my boyfriend and i were in town meeting up with his new boss as he was looking to transfer in the area for work. his boss offered to take us out to lunch for the meeting, and since we are not from the area, he picked this place.
i am not a huge fan of bbq or slabs of meat or southern food in general, but let me tell you, this place has the only coleslaw that i will touch!
it was a bit pricey, but the food and the atmosphere were totally worth it! it is a bit noisey and busy in the joint, but the down home cooking and friendly seating made it to be a good time.

Perhaps eight years of living in Georgia unnaturally influenced me, but sauce should never be served mixed with the meat when it comes to barbecue. How else are you supposed to judge the meat itself, not to mention get your barbecue exactly the way you want it, mixing sauce and meat to your own exacting standards rather than merely accepting someone else's standards. Some places, however, mix it up in an attempt to hide less than stellar meat. Do you think we can't tell the difference between smoked meat and everything else? Do you think we don't know that REAL barbecue is slow smoked? If you can't do that, get out of the business.
So, I've never actually been to 3 Pigs, but after eating my share of 15 pounds of baby back ribs and 4 chickens picked up by a coworker and brought to a potluck, I just had to write a review. That meat moved me. To paroxysms of euphoria. Which is just a fancy way of saying I was moved to spasms of delight. Which sounds a little more awkward. The ribs were incredibly tender and meaty and generously portioned, while the chicken - oh god the chicken - smoky, tender, juicy, finger lickin' yum. The 'medium' sauce was sweet with just a tiny kick, which is how I like it, but people said that the container labeled 'Hot' really wasn't that hot.
So that's it. A review for meat from a place I've never laid eyes on. We didn't have any sides, I heard nothing about the service and didn't have to drive so couldn't tell you about the parking. But that ought to tell you just how superb the meat is. I do love meat. And that is 5 star meat. -

My friend once told me that pork is God's gift to man. He was kind of drunk but still.
The pulled pork sandwiches here are delish, you can order them with a combo and get a drink and side as well. I usually get the potato salad as my side, it's great compared to the usual potato salad you get from the grocery store. It's usually pretty busy here during lunch time so finding a seat can be kind of tricky. The atmosphere is really comfy, well lit and very sports bar like.
The only complaint I have about this place is that they tend to premake their food, I know it saves time but if you premake pulled pork sandwitches the sauce seeps into the bread and it becomes soggy. Besides that, YUM! -

I think Maria C. and I were brother and sister in a former life. I mean we frequent many places, have mutual friends via different circles, often share common thoughts about Yelp'ed places and yes, both of us have ONLY eaten take out from this place!!
Weird? Yes? But that's how we roll....
While I have never really had "true" BBQ, I mean I've only had a lay-over in Texas once, and only had time to eat at the airport, and, no, they didn't have any BBQ there. I must say I have eaten my fair share of smoked meats around the PNW and boy howdy do I luvs some good old BBQ.
Here at 3 Pigs, they blend their fine smoked meat with a very tasty sauce, it isn't too sweet or overly vingery, which is nice.
The sides we've had were limited to the coleslaw, which was solid in it's own right.
Take out portions were generous and nicely packaged for the long trip from the Eastside back to our place in Shoreline.
Pork rulz! We'll be back. A solid 3.5 stars -
Review from Julia Z.
The sandwiches here are good, tasty and filled with an acceptable amount of meat. The service is great, the self-serve drinks suit me fine, and the share-a-table methodology is great, and very Southern. It does make some Seattle Freezers wig out a little, but too bad. In the South, you'd definitely sit alongside your neighbors and get friendly while you were there, and that's a level of interaction that's fun to try here.
This place wouldn't touch any of the best places I know in North Carolina, but it's certainly on par with many of the beloved fast-food barbecue lunch places there, and since that's what this place is trying to be, I think they should be considered successful.
Will you have a mouthgasm in the middle of the restaurant? Probably not. Will you be glad that you skipped another day of McPuke? Definitely.
Their sides. by the way. were universally really good too... not five star OMG level, but really solid four stars all the way.
Restrooms were clean and warm enough. Points for that. -

OMG, I'm feeling good after eating some phat pork sandwiches for lunch. To me this is the best smokey BBQ on the east side... maybe anywhere in Seattle. I'd stick with the sandwiches personally.
I go for Turkey, Pork, and Beef sandwiches with the luscious medium BBQ sauce. It's ketchupy slightly sweet sauce, so if you dig the N.C. vinegar of mustard sauce, you may not like this place.
Still, it kicks the crap out of Dixies. Highly recommended.Listed in: Eastside places you should try, What's for lunch?

I'm surprised I haven't discovered this place sooner! Maybe it's because of how unattractive it is on the store front. But boy, they know how to do their Barbecue right. I had the beef ribs lunch special and I got three huge beef ribs for $9. Juicy BBQ sauce goes perfect with the beef ribs! definitely coming back for more. I was in the mood for a smoky and saucy pulled pork sandwich and 3 Pigs delivered exactly that.
I went with the medium sauce and the Texas sized sandwich. The meat was consistently tender all the way through and there was just the right amount of sauce so it wasn't super sloppy and wasn't dry.
I only tried the sandwich and got it to go so I am reserving another star for when I go back to try the ribs and the sides and get a chance to sit down and eat a meal there. -

Well I happen to be in Bellevue, for some training, and a friend of mine, who works over there, suggested we head over to 3 pigs. The girl working behind the counter, greeted me, and was very friendly. I asked her what she would recommend and she pointed out the lunch specials on a borad next to me.
It's a small restaurant located inside a strip mall. The restaurant wasn't anything special or fancy. It had a cowboy type theme going there. The decor was very simple. But who the heck goes to a BBQ joint for the decor.
I order the pork ribs with a salad. The service was quick. Right off the back I can tell you that anything that grows out of the ground is not their specialty. It was some chopped up lettuce with a packet of dressing. Now their ribs were something else. They were tender and moist. The meat fell right off the bone. The ribs were coated with a sweet sauce that had some kick to it. They give you a choice of mild, medium, and hot BBQ sauce for the ribs. So choose your own torture. The ribs were messy, but good.
Overall my experience there was good. The food, minus the salad, were good. I definitely go back again if I'm in the area. So if you're on the Eastside and hankering for a little wood fired animals then head on over to the 3 Pigs. -

Was with a friend about to visit his mom at the hospital across the street and we got some food from here before.
Their pulled pork sandwich is probably one of the top 3 I've ever had in my life. The sauce was spot-on and delicious, but not overpowering or out-shining the actual meat. The pork was moist and tender.
Nice staff.
