Arrived at the front desk to check-in, when the receptionist realized somebody had made a mistake. So he had to upgrade our deluxe-king room to a townhouse (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, and family room) without a fee, which was NICE.
Pros: Everything's clean, and the mattresses are very very comfortable. Also, nice body soap bar and organic aloe lotion! The kitchen has virtually anything and everything you'd need to cook. The wireless internet is surprisingly pretty fast. The location is also very good: next to a private beach and close to all the casinos and shopping. There is also free parking.
Cons: The rooms smelled faintly of urine, the pillows were not firm at all, and the towels smelled like dogs, which, I guess, is what you'd expect from a pet-friendly hotel.

Overall
There's 2 ways to rate this place.
1. If you paid cheap (like $80/night with 2 beds) then this place is a winner, and I would give it 3 or 4 stars with a few disclaimers
2. If you paid a lot (like $150+/night) then it's not what we call "worth the money"
I give it a 3 out of 5 because my buddy and I needed a place to crash before a cycling event. We paid $110 for 1 night (split 2 ways is $55 each) and it is what it is. It's just a room, clean, w/o ammenities, but you have your basics which is what we needed. Sheets and blanket sucked though. It's one of those synthetic materials that does not breath at all.
I would come back to this place for sure, assuming the price is right.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for the 4th of July weekend. We booked a pool side king suite through http://hotels.com. Once arriving to our room, it was not what I had expected. I paid $700 for three nights and I was expecting more.
The cons: The decor was not the best, the wallpaper in our room were peeling off. The bathroom door had scratches from previous dogs. The shampoo, conditioner and soap they provided was not so great. The bed was nice but the pillows were not. One thing that was missing which was suppose to be included with our stay was a microwave. I called up the front desk and the guy said our room was not suppose to have one. When I booked through http://hotels.com it was included with all the other amenities. The guy was nice enough to look for a microwave but in the end we didn't get it. Another thing was that since we were right in front of the pool we could hear the pool gate opening and closing as people enter and exit the pool which was really annoying because this was happening as late as 3am. The walls were thin so we could hear everything from cars driving by to our neighbors next door. The pool was nice and warm but when we got to the jacuzzi, it was the same temperature as the pool. Also one night we came back and one of the housekeeper left a dirty trash bag in our room with trash inside and it wasn't even ours. We just figured she was probably rushing and forgot to pick up that one.
The pros: Checking in and out was easy. The employees were nice and accommodating. They have free wi-fi and it was pretty fast. AC worked fine in our room. They have a nice flat screen tv with cable. The shower was huge and the jetted tub was nice. The hotel is walking distance to the beach, restaurants and casinos.
Overall our stay was nice and relaxing. We were usually out the whole time and it was nice to come back to rest at our room by the end of the day. Our friends really loved hanging out at our room and the pool.
I have stayed at this hotel several times and I dont have the first bad thing to say. The rooms have always been nice and clean plus the staff is extremely nice. I only wish there were other 3 Peaks when I have to travel around...
After reading some of the reviews for this resort, I almost passed on staying here. But I did and I'm sooo glad I took the chance. Being they allow pets I was alittle leary of the smell factor, I have a nose that can smell dirty dog a mile away, and don't get me started on cat pee... Anyway, brought the kids, my sister and the dog for a few days in the beginning of October - This place was awesome - We stayed in a suite - 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and 2 kitchens for $140 a night. Did I mention the fluffy down comforters, memory foam bed and lush down pillows!!!! The place was very clean, very comfy and NO hint of any animal smells. We had one issue with our shower and it was fixed immediately. Walking distance to beach, plenty of areas to walk your dog for quick relief and they supply doggie bags for clean up. I don't know what the other yelpers expectations were, but I'm all for staying here again. I know, it sounds like I work there, but I was very happy and wanted to shout it out to whoever would listen - Oh yea, I was going to book on http://Hotel.com but decided to check the place out personally before I committed and it was cheaper booking there, they also gave me a 10% discount. Close to everything too, yet just far enough away to be private. Check it out yourself...
OMG! Where to start.... I booked this hotel on http://Hotels.com because we were looking for a "pet friendly" hotel. When we arrived they couldn't find our reservation and unfortunately, the room I booked was no longer available but... they offered another. My hubby is so laid back he said "we'll take whatever you have, it's no problem"....so they upgraded us to a one bedroom suite with flat screen t.v.'s, fireplace, full kitchenette and spa tub for $44.00 a night!! We were spoiled and so was our puppy! The room was spotless, great amenities and the kitchen had everything you could think of to cook with. The queen bed was so comfortable we didn't want to leave the room. We will totally recommend this place to everyone and stay again if our travels take us back to South Shore. Way to go 3 Peaks....you guys ROCK!!!
The "Lady K" and I decided to end our Tahoe cabin lease early and spend the last weekend of the season in a hotel. It was a last minute decision - a quick, "lets do it" moment - and it was the perfect way to end the season!
After searching online from everything between the Marriott and the Motel 6, I landed on the homepage for the 3 Peaks Resort. It looked great and after checking what other Yelpers where saying, I booked a two night stay.
Imagine a hotel from the 70s and they recently hired some hip young designer to come in and fix the place up BUT they didn't give them a big budget to do it... got a mental picture? How about title in the bathroom but the toilet paper holder is made to look like wood logs? How about flat panel HD TVs on the wall but the cords are all visible? How about the biggest king size bed you've seen but the plates and coffee mugs are straight out of a garage sale?
I'm not knocking any of the above. We loved it all and are making plans to stay there again this summer. Bonus, they take dogs at $20 a night and they have plenty of places to walk the pooch AND they supply poop bags! Enjoy!

its an old motel that they are slowly renovating.
The web site presentation of a modern, contemporary 'log cabin' style rooms isn't honest and accurate. the room we were given was similar to a motel 6 from the 70's. even though it was cleaned, its felt old, stuffy, and dilapidated...
I (with hindsight foolishly) booked through Expedia for 2 nights at 120 and 160 Fri and Sat. I was pleased to finally wiggle free of the Sat booking and move to a much nicer hotel about 1 min up the road. Pls check out my Hotel 986 review.
Maybe then can turn this around by rapidly modernizing the rooms so they are all of the same standard. for now there is alot better quality and price elsewhere.

First things first -- if you're expecting this place to be on the beach, look closer at the map. While I wasn't there for the beach, I thought the name of this place was particularly misleading.
Things I can't complain about: reasonable price, big hot tub, very helpful and friendly and accomodating staff, clean rooms, very dog friendly, stumbling distance to bars, restaurants, and Heavenly (ick).
Things I can complain about: rooms are on the small side and hideously decorated, not enough towels, advertiser-loaded slow-as-dogshit wifi (but hey, at least it was free).
We stayed in the pool side suite this past weekend, and I must say for what this is, they deserve a few stars.
This is not a 4 star hotel, but considering it is pet friendly, I thought it to be very clean.
They have a great location and the staff were very helpful.
I would defintely stay here next time I'm travelling with pets.
Our first time visiting and we will be back for many more! We chose 3 Peaks because we wanted to bring our dogs to Tahoe and they did not disappoint. Front desk staff was very friendly, hospitable and informative. When our dog got sick Saturday night, we called the front desk and were consoled and assisted by a staffer who reacted as if it was her own dog who had fallen ill. She looked up the numbers for after-hour vets and asked us to keep her updated. Any place that welcomes and loves our dogs as much as we do earns a special place in our hearts. The rooms were log cabin style and what it lacked in contemporary decor, it more than made up with ultra plush, ultra comfy, memory foam mattresses.
Additional pluses: Close to everything. We walked to the Heavenly Gondolas everyday, Starbucks was across the street, it's blocks from the beach and there are plenty of pooch patches in and around the property fully-equipped with poopie bag dispensers. Love it -- we are fans.

This hotel is in a great location, walking distance to the Marina, Casino's, restaurants and many stores to shop at. It's pet friendly, the room was very clean, cozy. There's also a heated pool/hot tub! We really enjoyed our stay, I will definitly be staying here again. 2 thumbs up. Oh and it was very affordable. Check http://hotels.com for good deals.
We checked in quick and easy at about 7:30 PM on Monday. We brought our things to our room which was nice- we booked the Suite with a Kind bed. Rooms are updated with trendy interior designs and LG electronics (air condition unit and flat screen TV). Kitchens are stocked full of all appliances, but be careful of what you put into the fridge- it's more of an ice box. All of our drinks and food were frozen ice cubes by the next morning.
This is a dog friendly hotel, however the private beach down the way is not dog friendly. We went down there the first night where my fiance proposed, it was very romantic with great views. But the great aspect is that we were in walking distance of the hotel from the strip so if we decided to drink, it's about a half mile walk to and from our hotel.
The next morning we woke up and I noticed that the clothes in my drawer were soaking wet. I couldn't figure out if I had spilled something, but then I saw a stream on the marble counter of our dresser and realized that the AC unit was leaking condensation onto everything, including the flat screen TV and the electrical units behind the drawers. They place the units above the TVs which doesn't make a lot of sense. Anyways, we had called the front desk who offered to move us into a different but same suite and took 20% off of our stay. So we agreed, but it took an hour to move our things up two flights of stairs in the heat and and missed our dinner reservations...
And the suite was not the same. It did not have the same amenities such as the whirlpool tub and there was no AC in the unit. There was a large hole in the screen to the porch and the wood burning fireplace has smoke stains up the rock structure and to the ceiling as well. There was no ventilation in the bathroom so the room got very hot unless you kept the door open, which rids of privacy. It was a smaller room too.
We asked the front desk to supply a fan which they did, and we tried to keep the place cool by opening up the windows at night and morning, and keep the fan running while we were gone as it was too loud while we were sleeping. But there was a heat wave in Tahoe while we were there so it was kind of uncomfortable.
One of the more disturbing things is that we can hear EVERYTHING our neighbors are doing, and they could hear everything we were doing too which meant we had to keep it down if we wanted to celebrate grown-up style. This also included being able to hear individuals taking showers and using the toilet.
We made the best of our new room. We could walk to the Marriot shopping center, it's about a quarter mile walk to coffee, food and shopping which was a great way to start the morning. The street we are on has some pretty run down and cheap motels but don't let that deter you from the hotel itself, it's the nicest one the block. The groundskeepers are up every morning taking care of the lawns and maintaining the grounds which is impressive. The housekeeping is also very accommodating and friendly too. When we left our pup in the room, they were very respectful in keeping the dog calm and not disturbing him... he's very friendly and excitable and did not seem frightened at all. There are spots all around the hotel site including walking trails to take your animals to potty as well as doggie bags supplied for clean up.
I attempted to do laundry but the machines take forever to wash and dry, very old machines. There are no change machines or dispensaries for detergent so make sure you have both. The only vending machines there are free ice and of course a soda machine. No continental breakfast supplied- only coffee. Lobby also has pool table and one computer with the internet. The entire hotel site has WiFi but it's spotty, you have to get into the right place to get a good signal. The rooms have safes which was nice to store our electronics and other items while we were gone.
Another incident occurred- my fiance was in the shower and he bumped into the soap dish that broke off and crashed into the tub into a million pieces, and he cut his foot. At this point, I decided to talk to the manager about our experience in the new room. Chris was fantastic, he addressed our needs and compensated everything with a free night at the hotel. He was very accommodating and did what he could to make us as comfortable as possible. I was very impressed with this.
Overall, things did not go perfectly during our stay but after our experience with the staff I would definitely stay here again. We decided that especially having our dog with us, this is the best place to stay in Tahoe for the price and the amount of time we were there. The rooms were very clean, the bed was ridiculously comfortable, we felt like we were sleeping on a cloud every night. If you can handle some of the other amenities that are lacking, then this is a great place to stay. We used http://tripadvisor.com and booked through Travelocity which was the best rate.
I just realized that we have stayed at 3 Peaks twice already and I haven't written a 5-star review that this place so deserves. Love 3 Peaks. This is a clean and comfortable dog-friendly inn that is close to the hustle and bustle of SLT and the casinos in NV but likewise close to the peacefulness of a private beach. It's seriously within walking distance to everything.
When traveling with your pooch, try to get one of those ground floor rooms that has a patio door that opens up to the hotel's backyard. It's really convenient when your doggie wants to play catch or needs to go potty. I would have to note though that dogs are not allowed in the private beach. One would have to drive to go to the nearest dog-friendly beach.
Highly recommended.
Solid resort.
I liked the modern decor, rooms were clean. Got stuck for big rates being valentines day.
Plumbing is crazy loud. Service was good, and hospitable. I will be back.
Cool place to stay and I was able to get a great room rate through http://Hotels.com. The room was spacious and had two things I need which are free internet access and a fridge. I did run in to a few issues which the kind staff took care of promptly.

Very nice staff and the rooms we stay in (from time to time) are always clean. I love the log work, pine on the walls and the fact that the room had a mini kitchen...Gave us the chance to stay in and cook.
Hmmm..I see some reviews about "FLAT SCREENS" my room never had that..did you have the hottub in your room?
As for the term "Beach Club" well...They are not close to the beach at all. Maybe they should change the name? So to the owners when you change the "Beach Club" part of your name...Can you please turn on the AC for the rooms?
LOVE this place. I love the beds, love the kitchens, love the fireplaces and love the prices!

My GF and i stayed here when we came up to Tahoe last weekend to go skiing and will definitely be coming back.
The room did feel a little bit like camp (wood everywhere, in that distinct, Colorado / Tahoe style), but for $40 a night, you really can't complain.
Not only that, but the service was nice, competent, and friendly, the hot tub was huge and perfect after a long day of skiing, and its a mere 2 block walk from the gondola. What's not to love.
This will definitely be out default lodging location when we go skiing in Tahoe on the cheap!
I had every intention of giving this place 4 stars. The facilities themselves are really gorgeous - the décor is modern with a rustic twist - very snazzy for a pet friendly establishment. The plush king size bed, large flat screen tv, and shower w/ tiled bench were a god send after a long day of snowboarding; as would have been the in room Jacuzzi tub if it weren't for how small (definitely only fits one person at a time) it was and for the awkward L shape that made you twist your body in order to spread out. Luckily we were in the poolside king suite, so we had deck access to the two level hot tub which accommodated our simultaneous muscle soaking needs.
However, these incredibly friendly staff members other yelpers speak of.... Where are they? I certainly did not come into contact with them on my stay. Upon check in, the lady at the desk was helping someone else and taking her good sweet time. I'm a patient person, I can wait my turn, but I would appreciate some recognition of my presence and perhaps a comment to assure me that she will be with me shortly. I got neither this nor a thank you for waiting when she finally was done. I have never seen anyone move slower in my life. Then, the following day, we did not receive the reciprocal patience for foot dragging that I had bestowed upon them. I called at 11 to see if we could get a late check-out - we were still working on sleeping off our hangovers - and they informed me that we could have until noon. At 12:01 we received a call from an obviously irritated staff member informing us that 12 was the latest available check out and that if we did not leave immediately we would be charged for a half day - which would only give us our room until 1 o'clock. I assured them that we were packing up our bags and would be out in a jiffy, to which I heard a dial tone rather than a polite thank you.
As we rushed to pack up our things, my boyfriend's first step out the door was met with black ice and fell hard. After he recovered himself, the housekeeping manager approached him to ask if he was alright and request that we mention what happened to the front desk who had been denying her the budget to spread salt outside the guest rooms to prevent just such an occurrence. What happened to safety coming first? And how much can salt possibly cost that they are not willing to foot the bill? At $210 a night, I think they can afford it.
Also, as a pet owner, the fact that 3 Peaks is pet friendly is a big plus for me. However, if you are not an animal lover, be prepared to see some evidence of their stay - such as aggressive claw marks from guests caging their pets in the bathroom.
I will not be back - there are plenty of other pet friendly establishments in Tahoe who would show appreciation for our business.

Tahoe can be a difficult place when in comes to accommodations because there are so many dives. Service usually sucks and you tend not to get much for your money. I consider myself a hotel snob and I have high expectations.
Luckily I remembered that some friends had stayed at 3 Peaks and really liked it. We checked it out, and yes- they had reasonably priced rooms and only a 2 night minimum (during holiday and peak season dates hotels in South Lake Tahoe have minimum stays- many are 3-5 nights- so this was a great deal).
My family was happy with our stay. Our room was decent sized, clean and comfortable. We went with the standard room with 2 beds, but they do have rooms with kitchens and multiple bedrooms too.
The hotel was quiet, and was in a great location just off the main strip- within walking distance of a private beach, the casinos and shopping.
Another plus- they allow dogs!
Service was fine- nothing great. They could be a little friendlier and more helpful and really need to work on knowledge of the area.
I would highly recommend this hotel over other similar priced hotels/motels in South Lake Tahoe.

We stayed here the week after Thanksgiving while trying to get a head start on skiing.
Being Pet Friendly was our #1 concern, and 3 Peaks did a great job. Our room was right next to the Pet area, and they have cleanup bags right there for you.
From previous reviews, we figured we'd have a good stay, and did. The room was a typical hotel room, but decorated in "Cabin Decor" (see the pic with the king bed - ours looked nothing like the poolside pic with the big screen tv) - and of course, with a nice fireplace to boot (wood is sold in the office and VERY cheap). The bed was very comfortable (we have the same memory foam topper at home), and didn't have too many issues hearing other room's water running (see other reviews). Although - we definately could hear the stomping of the guy above us as he walked in circles till 11pm. The water pressure in the room was amazing, and the water super-hot (nice after skiing all day). The room had wifi access, a small cheesy tv, and a microwave / fridge (I don't think they all have those). One of the few bad things was limited drawer space, but we only had a short trip so it was easy.
We were about a 3 min walk to the Heavely Gondola (we could see if while walking our puppies next to our room), and that means a few mins more and you're at the Casinos. The Heavenly shuttle runs right by the hotel for those with their own gear.
Overall, we liked it. Very reasonable rates (not looking to nickel and dime you for everything), very helpful & friendly front-desk staff, and pet-friendly. They offer discounts for repeat customers and we'll probably take them up on it in a few weeks.
Here was what I was thinking a few weeks ago:
My husband and I are off such and such weekend....maybe we should go to Tahoe and get our first ski weekend of 08 in. After all, my chi is not set for the year until I get to Tahoe. We can stay at Harrahs, hit Heavenly and mock cougars at Arty's Party, ahhhh romance.
Here is what happened:
My husband tells me that our friend from Boston is flying out for the weekend and lets take her to Tahoe with us. I start looking at suites for us to stay in. Harrah's is sold out and so is everything else. I do find a deal at 3 Peaks. For a junior suite it is $185 a night. The pictures look good and the only review I can find for this place had 5 stars. I have been wanting to stay here when my large hotel fix cannot be met. So I book it.
First off: what hotel actually takes a deposit and charges your card before your stay????? There was no recourse should we not make our trip, you know like the impending blizzard set to hit Tahoe last weekend. There was no "hey you can use your deposit for a future stay" more like, "Oh the roads might be closed, tough crap we get to take your money."
We arrive and I am impressed of where it is located (close to everything) and how cool the lobby looks. It is a modern and clean lobby. The girl checking me in was super nice and friendly. I was starting to get excited. They had a little coffee bar, a big screen TV on and a pool table...not bad.
We went to our room and I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and cute the room was. (In a knotty pine woodsy chic sort of way although I could see Carson Kresley having his way around here throwing around the cheap furniture) We also had a big balcony...so all is well. Until....
We needed extra towels for showers since there were three of us and I'm a two towel girl to begin with anyhow. So I pick up the phone to call for extra towels - holy hostel scene - the phone did not work. Ok, strike twoish. I brushed it off and went to my room to turn on a table lamp to read a menu.....you know what helps a lamp work - a light bulb!
So I walk my ass down to the lobby and the girl gets my towels.....then I go to take a much needed shower.....Seriously people, I know how to work a shower....all I got was a pathetic trickle of water. Im a girl with a lot of hair and a liking of bath products. Well, i couldn't call down to the lobby since our phone didn't work. Agh.
Im almost done.....you can hear the plumbing through the walls. So when my neighbors decided to have a romantic late night 12:30 shower together, guess who got to hear the pipes...that would be the shower pipes, not theirs.
Anyhow, you get what you pay for, I guess. 2.5 stars, at least it was clean. And when I told the girl at the front desk when we were checking out about the lame shower, she said "Oh, I have never heard of anyone having water pressure problems....." A discount would have been nice or a light bulb.....

This resort was everything my boyfriend and I wanted during our stay in South Lake Tahoe. We arrived very pleased at our hotel room that was very inexpensive and came with:
-king sized bed
-flat big screen tv with Bose speakers
-private poolside patio
-comfortable sofa
-in room jacuzzi
-large granate shower big enough for 2-3 people
best of all...everything was sparkling clean!
the hot tub in the courtyard was two levels with a little waterfall...so sweet!
There was also a pool table in the lobby.
Our jets in the jacuzzi did not work and the front desk worker was really cordial and let us into an amazing suite to use the vacant jacuzzi. They also gave us a discount off our rate because it did not work. They really took care of us and we would return again in a heartbeat.
As "dog parents", this place was awesome. It was clean, roomy and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is great, walking distance from the casinos/food. We've stayed in many "dog-friendly" places and most aren't truly friendly (you have to take your pet w/you, put them in a kennel in the room or get a dog-sitter). This place was truly dog friendly, we just left her when we went snow boarding. Our dog is extremely low-maintenance so that made it even easier.
In addition to a great staff, clean room, a true dog-friendly room, the price was great (considering that you're in a holiday/tourist location and walking distance from the main area).
We'll most definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed here for a couple of nights around Thanksgiving. The room was very modern looking and decorated nicely. There was a large LCD television and the rates were super reasonable. The only downside is that you can hear everything your neighbors are doing on both sides of you and the plumbing is super loud.
The bed was really comfortable and it didnt really feel like we were at a hotel.

This place is lake Tahoe's hidden gem!
The staff are very friendly & accommodating. The rooms are super cozy. We booked the parlour suite &l loved it! There was a fireplace, kitchen, large soaking tub, a heavenly bed that made me want to sleep all day! The beds are to die for! But, BEST of all is this hotel is pet friendly so you can bring the babies along. (that is also a reason we booked here).
3 peaks is only a block away from the strip & they even have access to a private beach in the summertime.
Thank you 3 peaks! : ) I will definitely stay here again
2bd/2ba suite on the night before thanksgiving and it was under 200 bucks per night! can't beat that! didn't expect the place to be a 4 star hotel type for obvious reasons but it was definitely worth every dollar and then some. staff was super helpful and friendly, and the amenities were great..we hopped into the jacuzzi and grabbed the pool stick as well. the suite itself was cozy and comfortable, and had a cute little log cabin-ish atmosphere. there were 3 television sets, one in each room and one in the living room. master bedroom had separate fridge and sink area. bathrooms were above average for its class. parking was not a problem even though the place was packed.
i can go on and on..but to sum it up, it's totally worth the money, especially if you want a little more room than a single room at the hotels for about the same price..i know my humongous family does! we'll definitely be back for more!
lastly..
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!

Pros - walking distance to many places, cute cabin-decor, free wireless internet (i am writing this review while still here...hahaha)
Cons - no hot water, broken med-sized refrigerator, small smelly refrigerator, stained grout on bathroom floor, broken phone, leaky faucet, not thorougly cleaned, front-staff avoiding calls
Story behind the Cons---
Upon entering the room I was pretty impressed. The rooms were neat, refrigerator was big and bathroom was spotless! I was thinking that we got a really great deal for such a cozy feeling room. After unloading our stuff we went out to eat and came back around 8 pm. We had a long 4 hour drive with a 6 and 2 year old, we went tubing at Sierra at Tahoe, plus we had dinner at a loud over-heated restaurant, so all I wanted to do was to take a HOT shower and get the kids to bed because we had to be up at 6am for breakfast and snowboarding lessons the next day. That sure didn't happen!! We ran the water for about 10 minutes and all we got was lukewarm water, definitely not the kind to be taking baths in while its snowing outside! My husband had to walk to the front desk because the phone wasn't working! While he was gone I went to get my daughter's milk out of refrigerator to give her and it was warm! She was tired and therefore a wreck because she couldn't drink her milk. When husband came back he said that they were going to check the water heater and if that was working the problem would be the other people in the other rooms that took the water--they told us to wait 20 minutes. 20 minutes passed and still no hot water. Instead of walking out in the snow my husband did his magic and got the phone to work, so he called and the lady said that the tank was COMPLETELY EMPTY so we had to wait till it heated up more water--she didn't know how long it would take. By this time I was heating up some water from the coffee maker to sponge-bathe our children because they were cranky and wanted to sleep. It took me 10 times to clear the coffee maker of the crap that was still in there. I tried to be polite about the whole situation and gave them a chance to fix it. About an hour after talking to her on the phone there was still no hot water so I called for a room change, there was no answer. I gave it another 30 minutes and called again--still no answer. In most hotels they know which room is calling, so I used my cell phone and dialed there front-desk---GUESS WHAT!! they answered on the first ring. By then I was pissed off, not only from the lack of hot water, broken fridge, but there was a leak under the sink AND they were avoiding our calls. When I explained who I was, she quickly said that the pipes were hot and that she would check on it again and call me back. Before I could say anything she hung up on me! That pissed me off even more. After 20 minutes of no call back my husband walked over there and insisted they give us a refund or another room. I didn't think they would give us another room because at check in I asked to have a bottom floor room close to the people who booked our room for us. You would think that when people book 2 rooms on the same bill they would give you rooms next or near each other. Anyways, at check-in they told me they were completely booked so they had no other rooms. So when my husband went down demanding a refund or another room I started calling other hotels near us. When he came back he had another room key and told me it was on the bottom floor near our friends. what a bunch of liars! Anyhow, I asked if we could just shower there and then move in tomorrow...of course they said no and even though I was really pissed I was tired and in need of a shower so I helped my husband move everything including our sleeping kids. Before we did I told my husband that we should check to make sure the water was hot and he told me he did that before he came back. Upon entering this room, i was completely disappointed again. The grout on the bathroom floors were stained, there was some mold on the ceiling, a hole above the bathtub faucet, and the paint on the toilet seat was chipping. The heater didn't work so it was cold. The refrigerator was half the size of the broken one we had and it smelled bad and there was a half-bottle of tequila in the freezer. I'm all about a good time in a hotel room, but knowing that the people before me were too just made me sick. When we went to take a shower, there was an old face towel that was stuck on top of the shower curtain. By this time it was midnight and all I wanted to do was sleep so I showered and went straight to bed. I will definitely not be coming back here even though they gave me 15% off my next visit for such a crappy hotel! I've been to many foreign countries and stayed at many budget hotels that were far better than this one.

I was looking for a place to stay for the 3 days before Thanksgiving and gave the 3 Peaks a try based on the great price and the good reviews here on Yelp. I was not disappointed. The room and bathroom were spotless and decorated in a creative rustic style. The towels were exceptionally thick, not the threadbare ones you sometimes find in low-priced motels. There was Wi-Fi available along with a PC in the lobby. The 3 Peaks is just a few blocks from the big Stateline casinos. It seemed to be a popular place since there were no vacancies before and after I was there. My only complaint is that the heater was rather loud.
For what we paid, I can't really complain.
Room was clean. Bed was ok. It had a memory foam pad on top which uncomfortable after a couple hours of sleep. Staff was nice.
The only issue I found was that the walls are a little thin (or Bigfoot was in the room above us).
Otherwise, super convenient location to shopping, casinos, and Heavenly. I would definitely stay here again.
you certainly have your pick when it comes to hotels in south lake. you can either go all out and stay at the marriot grand residence, or stay at one of the many smaller semi-dilapidated looking motels along the side streets. there doesn't seem to be too much in between. This is where 3 peaks resort comes in. very decently priced ($118 for sunday of president's day weekend). the room was great, very clean, a nice little balcony, quiet, modern furniture and decorations, warm shower. the bi-level hot tub is huge and very relaxing. staff was friendly and check in was painless. overall, a great value for this place. i will definitely be staying here again for my next snowboarding weekend.

Decidely mixed experience. Positives: Extraordinarily friendly and helpful staff. Dog-friendly - the establishment's logo is derived from the pet (sadly passed away) of a longtime customer. During MLK week, flat-panel display and kitchen appliance upgrades were on the way. Cozy cabin-like structure and decorations, including a fireplace that yielded a rousing fire. Negatives : the memory foam mattress was akin to a bad waterbed, the draft was unrelenting, and the heater was merely adequate while incessantly recycling (i.e. loud). All in all, would not revisit, although given the price (midweek, with online discount), might have given 3 stars versus 2.

Well, I'm so sorry that people had bad experience on their stays at this resort, but I had a good one. Stayed there for a 3 day weekend on President's Day weekend. We got a big room with a cabin decor, and it was pretty cheap. Got it through Expedia. The resort location is a very short walking distance from the Heavenly Ski Resort and Harrah's Casino at Nevada's state line is only few blocks away. So, it is convenient. Our room was clean and the people at the resort were nice, so it was pleasant. But we did have a hard time to get a taxi to get to the resort for some reasons. So, we ended up walking to Harrah's in the cold night and caught taxi back to the resort.

Great stay and inexpensive. It's dog friendly too, but we left Toby at home. Very close to the Lake and Casinos. Quiet street and very friendly staff. We got a king bed and had plenty of room to spread out our stuff. The cabiny motif in the room was a little lame (wood walls), but it had a fireplace (we didn't use). Our window faced a little meadow area that was sweet. Overall good experience.
this place is just as cheap (cost wise) as the really trashy hotels but cleaner, nicer, 2 blocks from the gondola and they allow dogs!
they renovated an old hotel into a log cabin decor in all of the rooms. ive stayed in the king with fireplace (same price and the king without)
and the junir suite. both were clean, quite, and had nice hot water.
they have an outdoor spa, pool table, a lobby computer for internet and free conti breakfast.
i tried about 6 different hotels in the lower price range and this ranked far above the rest.

once again we started our winter tradition of driving up to tahoe for a few days... to let the dogs enjoy the snow. we always stay here when we bring the dogs. we have never had anything to complain about... the rooms are nice and the staff are great. this place is very down to earth and we feel so lucky to have a place we can stay at in tahoe with our 3 huge dogs. most places if they do take pets have weight conditions on taking them. this place is a short walk to the main road and the casino's, very convienant for going out at night. we will continue to come back every winter and hope to still stay here.

Located walking distance from the Heavenly Village gondola, 3 Peaks offers large rooms at dirt cheap prices. How can they offer rooms at such low rates? Easy, they don't clean the toilet before you arrive.
