This place is great! Clever and cute name, slogan, and design (3 Little Figs- Tasty Bakin'), and clean, simple decor. The lattes are delicious! I split an avocado muffin and cinnamon donut muffin with a friend- both so good! In fact, I can't stop thinking about the avocado muffin!

I can't wait to go back.

Nice place for a quick, light, bite & coffee. The space is clean, bright, and nice but lacks seating. The staff is friendly and the line moves quickly.
Now onto the goods: The Egg & Feta (add prosciutto) was cute and tasty. The Village sandwich was small, light, but flavorful. The Cinnamon sugar donut muffin & French toast muffin were nice sweet treats. The coffee & tea was solid.
Everything was good but not great or amazing and the prices to portion ratio is a little high, esp for the sandwiches. I appreciate that they use cage free eggs and organic tea/coffee which I will gladly pay extra for but the sandwiches were not very filling.
The decor is nice but the lack of seating puts this place out of my coffee shop rotation. I would go back for some coffee and pastries to go.

This is the fourth cafe that's occupied this space in the past four years. However, it is the one that most closely suits the tastes of "new" Somerville. I bet it stays.

They seem to have figured out how to maximize profits by keeping limited hours and selling a limited array of high quality items. I've tried a few pastries, and all were good. But, nothing tops the lavender biscuit. I eat one every weekend, as a post-yoga reward.

Ah, yoga and lavender biscuits... it ain't easy bein bourgie.

Adorable little coffee shop, which will become one of the closest to my new apartment, and already is definitely the closest to my yoga studio!
O2 endorses it, so that was on my brain as I left a noon Basics class last Saturday and needed some fuel for the day.

Coffee and tea is standard market price; I opted for a 16 oz iced tea for $2.75.
They make a handful of breakfasty sandwiches, and since the credit card minimum is $8 and I was starving, I tried a sandwich with eggs, arugula, and feta on brioche.
The server asked me if the bread would be okay (ostensibly because it had sesame seeds, which are an allergen, but I thought she was just being extra friendly), and didn't give me an evil eye when I used a debit card to pay the $7.75-- a quarter short of the minimum.

Lots of glassware for the "for here" option, but they don't scoff at you if you'd like to take your food to go. Appreciated mini Ball jars for water as you wait.

And it's not my thing, but they do offer vegan treats as well.

3 Little Figs has created the perfect sandwich. Rustic bread, fig jam, prosciutto, tomato, arugula and goat cheese. Sweet, salty, bitter, creamy, tart. A perfect balance of all these flavors, the Market sandwich has become something I crave.

The Market is not the only good thing about 3LF for sure. Their coffee is amazing, one of the few places where I can drink a cappuccino without adding any sugar. On my first visit in fact, I drank my cappuccino and my friend's. Actually, I shouldn't say drank, I should say guzzled. The baked goods are so fanciful, like the olive oil citrus cake or the french toast muffin. None of them are overly sweet, but just right.

The cafe is very cute inside, with little tables and a relaxed vibe. The kind of place where I could hang out all day, sampling one baked good after another.

    Things to remember:
    $8 minimum for credit cards
Only seating for about 15-18 people inside

This place isn't established yet to risk sarcasm with their customers...especially in their bathrooms.  Okay, so at a place like Woodman's (a mainstream cocky big clam place in Essex) you'd expect the sign: "treat this bathroom as if YOU [caps their own]
have to clean it" .. but at 3 little figs? PLEASE.  My bathroom wouldn't be filled with corny TJMaxx off brand wicker furniture and whadayacall em - chatchkeyz ...

The cafe decor is too STERILE.  i get it. it's supposed to echo the white and blue of ol' mother land, greece, but for a cafe one wants to feel comfortable and rested. like City Girl Cafe - now this is a A++ place where the decor doesn't feel like a psychiatric ward. 3 little figs is like that sugar psychiatric hospital in harvard square where they sell cupcakes...what's that place called?  Anyway, too much white is my point. Too much emphasis on looking good.

Also, the tradition of serving espresso with a lemon peel is specified for shitty espresso so unless you want to spread the word that your espresso is shitty, don't do it.  If you want LEGIT espresso and coffee drinks, head to Barismo in Arlington (mass ave) .. now those people know how to make drinks.   Also, the sandwiches are way to small and overpriced.  if the prosciutto was layered on a bit thicker, i'd give this place another star.

It's good ingredients but nothing you couldn't get at a shaws yourself.

Decor is all wrong.  Music's good though.   A lot of Morrisey crooning. Never again is the ultimate point. There are way better established establishments in Cambridge/Somerville.

I used to work at a bakery and I questioned the people who came in to get a lemon scone everyday. Why not try something else?

    And now, I know.

I am addicted to lavender biscuits. I don't get them everyday, but I daydream about them, often. Buttery, flaky dreams. Yum.

    Believe the hype.

I just had my first 3 Little Figs experience and I hope it won't be my last. It's a bit inconvenient to get to from where I live; that's the only reason I won't say that I'll definitely return.

My meal started with an absolutely delicious latte: just the right balance of delicately brewed (not burned) espresso and frothy steamed milk, with a flower design in the foam that made it practically a work of art. The scones sounded so good that I ordered TWO for lunch instead of a sandwich: pear and fig, and maple pecan. They delivered on what they promised. Perfection in the shape of a pastry. My companion had the Village sandwich (sweet potato, arugula, goat cheese, sundried tomato, honey, olive oil). She said it was a bit on the sweet side and needed some tartness (maybe add a dash of balsamic?) for balance. The seven grain bread looked delicious. There were some muffins that piqued my interest and made me want to come back for more: an avocado muffin and a bacon corn muffin.

We arrived at 11:45 and the place was absolutely packed; people in line were practically elbowing each other out of the way to get to a table when it opened up. We elbowed our way to victory, and when we'd been sitting about 15 minutes, the place cleared out entirely. From then on, the pace of tables opening up matched the pace of customers coming in.

This place is awkwardly located between Porter and Davis Squares, but a very doable walk from either. I predict that they will quickly outgrow this location and would easily have the business to sustain a bigger store, especially if they moved to a street with more foot traffic. I can totally see them in Davis; the food is at least as good as Diesel's, if not better, and the prices are waaaaay better.

This newish cafe and bakery has replaced Cafe Lola, which while similar, was pretty  mediocre. With an updated look and style, this new place welcomes you with a cozy and welcoming experience. This place is family run and they are very friendly. And they bake some amazing things, from avocado muffins to donut muffins, honey cake and various other goodies. There's even a very creative lavender pastry which I have yet to try but have been eyeballing on my past few visits. Luckily this place is a fifth of a mile away from my place so I'm sure I'll get around to it soon.

Aside from the baked goods they have various sandwiches like their Lil Figgy ($4.50) which features almond butter, banana and honey on 7 grain bread. It's a pretty darn tasty combination. There's also the delicious egg and feta sandwich which features a few leaves of arugula as well and which is served on a brioche. Get it, it's incredible. There's a few more of them and there's also scones, cupcakes, baklava and toast. It's all made in-house, it's all delicious and best of all, it's all affordable and served with a smile.

The decor itself is blue themed, reflecting the family's Greek heritage? Possibly, I'm not sure but it's definitely warm, inviting and pretty adorable. The lamps made from old mixer heads is definitely a cool touch although the place isn't all that big and seating can be hard to get. Especially on the weekends when the place is pretty much packed all day.

As far as their coffe goes, their organic blend is terrific. Some of the best I've had and it's pretty smooth as well and doesn't have much bitterness to it. I've had their macchiato, their mocha, their cappuccino and it all came out great. Their barista knows his stuff and does some neat designs on the milk foam as well.

I'm trying very hard to find negative things to say about this place but there really isn't anything that I can think of. Maybe the fact that there's only street parking? Meh, I can walk there so it's no issue for me. Their $5 minimum to pay by card is also pretty awesome. Honestly, this place rocks and it looks like they are here to stay, which is pretty terrific.

I would like to live in 3 Little Figs and eat their delicious baked goods and drink their perfectly crafted cappuccinos all day, that would be the life!  At first after reading these reviews I was like seriously, I mean how could someone really make an espresso drink or coffee so perfectly that you can really tell.  Well, let me tell you it can happen.  There is such thing as the perfect cappuccino, and you will find it at 3 Little Figs.
As for the delicious baked goods I can't wait to have more.  Absolutely loved the buttery, sweet goodness of the fig bar, goat cheese scone was the perfect consistency--not too floury or dry and just the right size, and french toast muffin was warm and amazing!  Next up I want to try their sandwiches because those looked pretty darn amazing as well.  I will be back again and again!!

Three Little Figs is a cafenista's dream for anyone living near Davis Square. Tucked away on Highland Ave., it's the sort of charming little cafe that you want to sit in for five hours while nursing a designer coffee beverage and watching snow waft down outside. However, you will be lucky to get a seat. Especially on the weekends, when people line up to wait for one of the coveted white tables or a spot at the handsome darkwood bar. If you can't hold out for half an hour, then you sit in one of the waiting chairs against the wall and scarf down your goodies straight out of the bag.

Should you score a seat, you will likely wait even longer for your coffee, but when it does arrive, it will be succor from Valhalla...the baristas at Three Little Figs treat their drinks like masterpieces and it shows when you take the first sip.

So why is everyone willing to cram into this little shop and jostle around for a seat? Well, it's not even a French cafe, come down to it, but a cafe started by a woman with Greek roots, who has gems on the menu such as spinach pie and goat cheese scones, along with a ravishing array of pastries. And as the name suggests, fig jam flows like honey here, to slather upon the muffins, scones, biscuits, and cakes in their glassy display case.

And I know you're wondering how their scones stack up. A crunchy exterior dotted with little beads of sugar, a light and flaky interior with a mild taste. The flavors are not going to hit you over the head, unless you order the lavender scone. The blueberry and fig n' pear scones are much more subdued, and go nicely with a bit of jam and butter. I would prefer a hint of lemon or lime zest to give them a little zip, and a bit more fruit for a juicier scone. But perhaps this is the limit of the scone itself; it is fundamentally a conveyance machine for other substances, such as clotted cream, golden syrup, chocolate sauce, custard, etc. It is the defacto bridesmaid of the pastry world...nobody is going to swoon over it the way they might over a cream puff or an eclaire.

Truth be told, the ginger bomb muffins, the eggnog cake, and the bacon corn muffin at Three Little Figs are much flashier on looks and taste, so by no means limit yourself to the scones. And if you're going in for a beverage, a word to the wise: avoid the iced tea. Mine came with a thick cloud of sediment that gave my tea the appearance of having a plankton bloom in full swing. Stick with the hot drinks; that's their bag at Figs.

    Happy Snacking!

I've been hearing such good things that I decided to stop in today to check it out. A pastry or two to warm me on a cold Saturday in the 'ville? It sounded like a good idea.

And the service alone earned a thousand points from me. A thousand points.

Granted, said service was a wee bit slow, but there was quite a line considering how very, very small this place is. And the reason service was slow was because the young man at the counter was being very, very attentive to each person. For those getting baked goods to go, he made sure they had their food before moving on to the next person. Which is actually really nice, even if it does hold things up a little.

The selection was both impressive and inventive. Honestly, I wanted everything. But I narrowed my choices down to a baklava (to eat right then) and an apple-fig-almond muffin (to save for later).

Now here's where the thousand points were earned.

There were several slices of baklava in the display case already. When I ordered, I half-turned towards them, expecting Attentive Young Worker to take one from there, bag it up, and hand it to me.

That is not what happened. He purposefully turned towards the *fresh* baklava that had just come out of the oven and packaged that up for me instead. With a little grin.

    Oh, gosh. I felt special.

And the verdict on the baked goods? Deeeeeelicious. The baklava seemed to have several kinds of nuts in it: I identified both walnuts and pisachios. And the syrupy-but-not-cloying glaze was, well, the glaze on the baklava. Mmmmm.

3 Little Figs makes the best espresso drinks in Boston and serves Ithaca NY's amazing Gimme! Coffee. We're loyal to Gimme! but we thought 3LF's cappuccino might have better than theirs!

In sum: sweet, evenly steamed milk, local ingredients, nice decor (cute whisk lamps) and very friendly staff. We ate the glorious cheese pie, which was, indeed, glorious. They made our day. We'll be back every weekend. See you there!

This is everything I would ever want in a cafe! Good service, amazing pastries, and very nice atmosphere.

I had been hearing about this place for a very long time from their fun Twitter feed, so I was finally able to stop by and get some of those alluring pastries. Lavender? Pear? It's already super cool that they're experimenting with these seldom-used flavors, but it's ever better because they are so delicious.

Kudos, and I look forward to returning in the future!

I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll pull a mean espresso shot while placing an amazing pastry on your table.

A new little cottage with walls made of muffins, a roof made of scones, and a door made of spinach pies is luring hansel and gretels off highland ave. for amazing baked goods and legit coffee. You'll have to leave a trail of pebbles to find your way back to a subway station from their location, but it's totally worth the hike.

For one, 3 Little Figs produces a fig and pear scone that tastes like something Snow White would have worked up if she owned a bakery. The thing is so good I wouldn't be surprised if seven dwarfs were hidden in the back room churning butter and manning the kitchen.

In fact, their tiny location is charming enough that it looks like Snow White may have done the decorating (with a little help from goldilocks and little red of course).

And this little gem cooks up more than just little baked "beauties" - they've also got some "beast" on their menu - rock the egg and feta sandwich, have them slip prosciutto in there, and break a curse while getting a food buzz.

All fairy tales aside - this new bakery justifies all the hype they've received and is a nice addition to the 'ville.  Spend a morning meal here and live happily ever after.

My Dad sent me a Globe article about this place and I was intrigued because it is located in my old neighborhood in Somerville.  It is definitely a step up from what used to be in that space.

I thoroughly enjoyed the decor and atmosphere.  Very bright and friendly, despite being a little tiny.  The staff was also very nice (which is a rarity in this city full of disillusioned hipster coffee shops).

I had the egg and feta sandwich on brioche.  The sandwich was good.  The brioche was great; however, I felt the sandwich itself was a little bland.  I think the feta could have been distributed a little more evenly through the sandwich, which would have kicked up the flavor.

Also, I had to wait awhile to get it.  I'll attribute this to them being pretty new; however, I wish I had brought my Kindle to help me pass the time.

I recommend 3 Little Figs.  It's cute and has a lot of potential to be fantastic.  I will definitely make my way back there to try the egg and feta sandwich on brioche again.

3 Little Figs is an excellent addition to the Somerville Cafe scene! They serve Gimme Coffee which is one of my favorite coffees - it's roasted in Ithaca New York and I drank it all the time during my grad school days there. The baked goods are also fantastic. Very solid bakery. I asked the nice lady behind the counter for pastries that are not too sweet, and she proudly introduced me their new apple fig muffin and lavender biscuit (2.5 bucks each). The muffin is not at all greasy, and is loaded with fresh apple cubes and soft dry figs. The lavender biscuit is simply a must-get. The dough has anise(i am not sure) sprinkled inside which gives it a unique flavor. The lavender glaze on top is divine: not too sweet, and very lavender-ish. I also get their greek yogurt, which is very dense and thick. I myself don't particularly enjoy such yogurt, but the house-made granola is fantastic. I will go back to buy the individually packed bag which costs 6 bucks. The yogurt with granola and fruit together costs 5 bucks.

I knocked off one star for the fact that the store front is way toooo small!! And it is filled with locals with laptops...really not that convenient for those who just want to grab a good bite and hit the road.

    Love, love, love!

This place couldn't be any more adorable, and all the treats we shared were amazing.  My friend Emily and I came in on part of our epic walk and decided splitting some things was more than deserved.  We shared the gingerbread muffin, the goat scone, and the village sandwich.  The sandwich consisted of  roasted sweet potato, arugula, goat cheese, sundried tomato, a honey & olive oil drizzle, atop 7 grain bread.  It was delicious, though I would absolutely suggest either pulling the guts out of the sundried tomato because the skin was too tough and not really chewable.  It was good flavor, just not functional too eat.  The goat scone wasn't too heavy, which was my concern, but it was light and flaky.  The gingerbread was so good-rich in flavor and very moist.  I suspect there was some sort of fruit puree in there to make it so moist.

The decor is so cute, and the space was small but clean and not awkwardly set up.  I like the open kitchen, and that the bathroom is really clean.  Coffee shops should have EXCELLENT bathrooms, and this one does.  Kudos to 3 Little Figs for having pre-wrapped goodies at the counter, as well as the case of baked goods-the cookies were hard to resist sitting there.  I saw them refill the baked good case as we were there and everything looks fantastic.  Maybe I should take six mile walks every Sunday to justify eating lunch here....hmmmmm.

Paul m. took the words out of my mouth.

Very cute spot, good service, but overpriced, not so fantastic items on the menu.

2 lattes. Egg sandy (only one on the menu) with feta. Wish they offered others.  and an apple muffin.  for almost $20. yikes!

The muffin, although delicious, was overwhelmingly sweet.  The egg sandy, was small and bland, I thought they left the feta out, until I saw a spec. :(

Overall not very impressed. But I can see why people would love this place. I just expect more out of my local cafe.

I probably had the most delicious egg sandwich I've ever had in my life here.  Scrambled egg sprinkled with feta, the juiciest and most flavorful slices of tomato, crisp arugula, and thin sliced prosciutto, all contained inside a fluffy, buttery brioche bun.  It's the perfect size for breakfast and I savored every single bite, right down to the last flaky crumb.  You could tell that sandwich was sprinkled with love.

The coffee was strong and hot and the small size was exactly how much coffee I need, which is not a lot compared to most coffee drinkers, and was served to me by a lovely girl resembling a healthy Amy Winehouse.

Did I mention they were playing the Pixies.

Zooming along Highland, I would have missed this place if it hadn't been for a passing cop car which led me to jam on the brakes. I'll say this only once: thank goodness for the police, otherwise I wouldn't know how a great cafe's supposed to run.

This place has it all. A cozy, relaxing interior (also clean with the wafting aroma of pastries and coffee). EXCELLENT coffee. Outdoor seating on warm days. Glass walls looking onto the street that keep the interior bright and airy despite its small size. And the baked good... oh goodness. Not sure if I wanted sweet or savory, I opted for a bacon corn muffin. And it delivered: sweet, crumbly corn bread with pieces of crunchy/chewy bacon.

What started as a quick, experimental coffee run ended up being a 2 hour stay.

One small complaint: this place can get crowded quick. For the number of people popping in (with some opting to stay once they see the interior), the place is just too small.

Gotta love the agility and responsiveness of tiny shoppes!

Icing on the blueberry scone? Replaced with clear sanding sugar, letting the berries shine. Perfect.

Cinnamon sugar donut muffin? Knock a month or two off the life span. This identity crisis is dense and addictive.

And need I repeat the majesty of the strawberry rhubarb cake? Just did.

All three out the door for eight bones. My third visit in a week. Doing it and doing it and doing it well.

    Yep.  This place is awesome.

I've been in twice in the past three days.  I've tried their feta toast (thick cut toast topped with feta cheese, tomatoes, olive tapenade and greek herbs - yum!), an avocado muffin (more of an aftertaste of avocado, moist and succulent) and their feta and egg sandwich (pretty small, not terribly filling but big on flavor).  I also had a latte and an iced coffee.  Their iced coffee was one of the better ones I've had in the area.

I don't LOVE the space.  It's not the most comfortable place to hang out, but it is cute.  The service is spectacular.  Although my food took a bit both times, the charm and friendliness of the servers made it totally fine.  It's obvious the employees are thrilled when people come in and when they come back.  This place has a real family feel to it.

I think this coffee shop/bakery is going to be added into my weekend rotation of coffee stops.  So happy it's so close to where I live!

Great job remodeling. I find the new layout more open and inviting. The staff is kind and generous with the smiles!

I ordered the Village: roasted sweet potato, arugula, goat cheese, sundried tomato, honey & olive drizzle on 7 grain to go. Whoa...explosion of flavor.  One day later and I'm still dreaming of this sandwich!

They get a big fat green sparkling star for having a compost bin.

I'm in love!  Finally a lovely little coffee shop right in the hood.  This isn't an ordinary shop though it's a bloody brilliant one!  Fantastically delicious coffee, tasty treats (greek yogurt is a must try) and super friendly staff.  Did I mention the decor is awesome?

So yes this place has both beauty and brains.  Right on.

3LittleFigs has been declared, by it's very own neighborhood, as the new place to hangout.

Regardless of your locale, if you stop in 3 Little Figs you'll receive the warmest welcome from their staff, and instantly feel a part of the Figs family.

We came here on their opening weekend and decided to taste a little bit of everything:
*Egg & feta sandwich on a brioche roll - scrambled just right with a nice mix of greens inside
*Cinnamon donut muffin - you need to have this. It's perfect/genius.
*Greek yogurt with pumpkin granola - the yogurt is freshly made from Sophia's in Belmont. It's just the right amount of tartness to accompany an awesome chewy mix of oats and figs, topped with local honey!
*Quality organic coffee - yep, full service barista action here, complete with cute latte art
*A sample of the avocado muffin - I regret not walking away with a whole one. It was so moist!

Katie and her family are sharing their Greek goodness in this adorable cafe. Even if you're not in the Cambridge/Somerville area, look for her Ginger Bombs in other markets and stores in Boston.

Cute, creative, fun little place to meet up with a friend for a chat.

I am kinda bummed that it's getting cold out now, because it's a really nice spot to sit outside. Indoor seating is available, too, in this sweet little cafe that recently opened.

The special thing about this place is their small but tasty selection of food. I had a delicious sandwich there with goat cheese, and they were nice enough to make a vegetarian version for me by eliminating the pruscutto. Chai and coffee are also good, though not cheap. I love that they have such interesting options, with figs and goat cheese being big on their menu. Nice baked goods, too.

Try going on a Sunday when you can park a bit easier if you're not a Somerville resident.

This place is seriously the best!  I have been a regular since they opened and have been impressed by everything I have eaten.  Everything they make at 3LF is make fresh that day and has some special twist on it which makes it different (and better!) than you've had it elsewhere.  For example, something as simple as a blueberry scone has some ingredient that I can't put my finger on that makes it deliciously unique (not to mention it is so light and fluffy)!

Their strawberry rhubarb is without a doubt the best I've ever had!  I've also tried the cinnamon doughnut muffin (brilliant), the lemon poppy muffin, the egg and feta sandwich, and the cranberry lemon scone and have loved them all.  The coffee is also delicious and the baristas take pride in every pour as you can see by their artful designs in the froth.

The staff are the nicest people who always remember you and make you feel welcome.  I look forward to coming here regularly forever!

I was visiting my son and his girlfriend and luckily he lives right around the corner from 3 Little Figs and was a fan.  We went there prior to work and had a really lovely breakfast.  Staff were friendly, atmosphere was comfortable, coffee was really good.   I look forward to returning .

Coffee is good and dark.  The lattes are excellent and made with local milk from Lee, MA. Baked goods are really tasty, especially the french toast muffin which is unlike anything I've had (in a very good way).  Service is excellent with smiles.  Wish this was around the corner from me, although it does give me incentive to go to O2 Yoga Studios right next store so I can reward myself afterwards with a good strong coffee and a sweet treat.

This place is great. Their baked good are inventive, but not so inventive that they are weird or off putting. The coffee is quite good, environment is inviting, and staff is friendly.  Oh, and extra points for being about a block away from my place.

This adorable cafe just opened up across the street from my apartment recently and I couldn't be happier. The family that owns it is super nice and the pastries are to DIE for. I have had a variety and everything I have had has been incredible so far. The coffee is excellent as well.

The ambiance and decor is adorable. They really put detail into the whole business and it truly shows.

I am thrilled about my new regular coffee spot!

Um. This might be my favorite bakery. I have bought goodies from 3LittleFigs at various farmers markets and at City Feed, and couldn't be happier that they now have a shop. My sweet tooth can finally get it's apple cider donut muffin fix during the week!

I rarely buy just one thing - and their opening weekend wasn't an exception. Aside from the muffins, I am a huge fan of the Strawberry Rhubarb cake. Oh and the granola. Annnd the squash and yogurt baby bundt cake. See my problem??! Too much awesomeness to choose from. The donut muffins were so good that I actually overnighted them to my parents who live in Michigan. Apparently they were eaten right out of the box!

Other reasons why this place gets five stars:

*The people that run this shop are so nice. I love that the team that helps out is family!
*They source local products for their goodies. So I, er, feel that I made healthy decisions on my purchases. :)
*The space has a fresh look and feel - and offers ample seating.

Kudos 3LittleFigs - I will definitely be back!
