One of the Business' Favorite Reviews What's This?
This place is great! The produce are very cheap and fresh. I don't have to worry that the market will be closed by the time I get home from work or whatever because this place is open 24/7, which is why I love coming here. On some weekends when I can't fall asleep at 3am in the morning, I would come here to stroll around for groceries. Luckily there are a few other insomniacs like me that actually does grocery shopping in the wee hours of morning.
Live in Brooklyn and want veggies on the cheap? Come here first.
It's small inside, but they've got even more produce and some snacks. Frozen and refridgerated isle also had some great deals.
Bring your back pack cuz your trip's gonna be worth it!
Not to be confused with 5 Guys, these 3 guys don't sell burgers. They sell produce. Really fresh produce. Really reasonably priced fresh produce. Really great selection of really fresh really reasonably priced fresh produce.
That's probably why the place is always mobbed.
This is my go-to place for groceries amid the questionable freshness of the Chinese supermarkets. Since they are open 24/7, it's quite convenient for those who come home late from work.
The tomatoes were ok, I had a hard time finding some fresh ones (but maybe because it was late in the day?).
I think the prices here are more or less unbeatable, but the crowds, even around 6-7pm make it almost impossible to navigate the catty-cornered aisles (especially when a Russian in a cowboy hat takes FOREVER to pick out a daikon radish, probably picking one to put up his bum later).
Otherwise, this place is nice and not too far and the prices are extremely reasonable. I got away with two heavy sacks of groceries for under $15.
Great produce! Great, great, GREAT prices! When I tell friends in Manhattan what I pay for limes and lemons, their mouths hang agape. When I tell friends in Park Slope what I pay for basil, their mouths hang agape. When I tell friends in Michigan what I pay for red peppers, their mouths hang agape. When I tell friends in Oregon what I pay for shallots, their mouths hang agape.
Also great selection, exotic fruits such as ume, cheap eggs and cheese (though selection is not great, but when the hell was the last time you paid $5 for a pound of brie?!?!?!), and spices and bread and nuts.
This place is super awesome! I buy all my fruits and veggies from here. They always have some kind of sales/deals for fruit and veggies that I will like, from 10 kiwis for $1.00 or 3 bags of carrots for like $1 something. Everything is very fresh, their fruits are sweet. They don't always have the same thing which is good cuz they put out fresh produce.
Like the other reviews, they are open 24/7. The only thing I recommend is don't go there after work hours, they are so packed with crazy people who doesn't move their cart and block the whole aisle and takes forever to pick out produces. I would go there early in the morning or late in the evening, when it is less insane and you don't have to fight over for fruits.
Great work 3 Guys, keep it up. Love your produces!
I had no idea that 3 Guys From Brooklyn was even on Yelp. But, I've lived in the neighborhood my whole life and I go here about once a week. I come for the fresh produce that is always at a good price (but of course it depends a lot on the season). They even have exotic fruits and veggies that you don't normally find elsewhere.
They've def. changed a lot over the years. They now carry a lot of specialty items like olives, cheeses, nuts, and dried fruit.
This place is amazing.
I've been in the neighborhood for 3 years, and 3 Guys has been a lifesaver. It's open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and they have great prices on so many staples.
The great prices on fruit and vegetables have made us better cooks and healthier eaters. They also have the best prices on milk and eggs, and have a great cheese selection. I'm getting wistful as I type this review--I am going to miss this place SO much!
When I lived in NY, I absolutely refused to get my fruits/veggies from any other store. I'd trek all the way up from Shore Road to get stuff here because of the prices and selection. The convenience factor (open 24/7) is huge too.
One of the greatest things about this place is that for those of us who like to do canning, they often run sales and promos for large quantities of things like cukes (for pickles) and fruits (for jams and jellies). Even if they're not running a special, the owners are very willing to work out a deal with you.
Freakin New Yorkers are flipping lucky as all hell! This was my first stop on my grocery shopping for the week. Yeah, i live in Boston, but i just happened to be in the area and my friend took me here and holy crap!
The produce is plentiful, peppers of various colors, shapes and sizes. Cherries (wicked cheap!), Peaches (never seen them at 50 cents a lb), Jicama, olives, half sour pickles, turkish bread!
The prices are comparable with a store we have called Market Basket (just a chain grocery store), but 3 Guys has a lot more produce that you cant find everywhere, and a lot of the prices for certain things were cheap.
I started outside, filled many bags with various fruits and veggies, made my way inside and filled more with veggies, pickles, bread and cheese. Checkout was fast, and there weren't that many people inside, which made everything quicker.
I too, wish 3 Guys was closer to my apartment, by about 200 miles.
PS. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is 100% unheard of for us new englanders.
PSS. With the large variety of foods, you probably won't even spend that much, I was shocked at how cheap my bill was.
I think my bargain-hunting mother gets most of her fruits and veggies here. My little sister loves mini croissants, and my mom usually buys it from there because of sales.
Because it's not as big and spacious as a supermarket, people will be bumping into each other and you will be saying "excuse me" a lot. [unless you go when there is seriously nobody there]
I love Three Guys and only wish it was closer to my apartment.
Being open 24 hours is amazing,
the produce selection is amazing,
the prices are amazing,
there is no wait to get rung up even if they're busy....overall just great!
I really can't say enough nice things about them. Last night I walked out of here with 3 heavy bags of food for only $17. They also have all sorts of fancy snacks, coffee, and specialty food along with the produce. I just went in to pick up some bread, OJ, and grapes and ended up buying all sorts of fun things that I can't wait to cook with.
Hooray for Three Guys. You are doing everything right.
Great place for fresh fruits and vegetables, super cheep and open 24-7. They also have a selection of organic milk and eggs. Totally worth the drive for the cheapest groceries in Brooklyn.
This place RoCkS!
Looking for a neighborhood place for fresh fruits and veggies, then shop here! I like the large selection and the quality. It's opened 24/7 and the price is right. Also a nice selection of cheese, bread, nuts, dried fruits, candy, dairy, an olive bar. No doubt you will leave with shopping bags filled with all sorts of goodies!
This place is where I go for most of my groceries. They are cheap, healthy, and fresh. I feel like everything that comes out of this store is a wise decision.
They also have a large assortment of HUMMUS!!!!! which I am eating right now with Pita bread, also from them.
I like. I came across it by mistake and bought some really fresh veggies and fruits for cheap. The only bad thing is I don't live close enough to treck over here.
Perhaps on a free day I can venture over there.
They have a terrific selection of fresh produce and other goods that you may not be able to find in local supermarkets. It is usually pretty crowded and can be difficult to maneuver in, especially if you need to buy a lot of stuff, but the prices aren't too high and it's almost guaranteed that they will have what you're looking for. It's definitely worth stopping in!
Incredibly low prices, Incredibly busy. Incredible variety. 3 pluses in my book. If you want to explore a myriad of cultures clashing into one place. Each carefully selecting their choice of fresh fruits and vegetables, come and give 3g's a visit. I always come here, usually late at night to pick up the usual suspects: eggs, milk, veggies, fruit, and bread for the week. Nighttime is the best time for 3G's.
Who says the world can't get along? Just look at 3 Guys! We're all part of the same gang even if it's just picking fruit. haha.
As a California lad dreaming of the many benefits of what New York could offered I often dreamt of emporiums of every conceivable item (food, women, musical instruments, bongs etc etc) offering insane varietals of any and all types. This might have been based on my first visit to NYC in which I went to Zabars and Condomanium-it may have skewed my view of NYC a little.
And as I become a Brooklynite 3 Guys from Brooklyn give me a small glimpse of that vision.
Rows and rows of fruit and vegetables fresh and incredible prices. With so many varietys (eggplant alone I have counted 6 different on a given day) it has expanded my diet to include everything from sicilian eggplant, broccoli rabe, dandilions, oyster mushrooms and black radishes.
also has a nice dairy, olive, sundries, and bread sections
A great place to mix it up with your many neighbors Orthodox Jews, Spanish, Chinese, Itlaian, Greeek, Russian, Irish - everybody
This is by no means the produce emporium I was dreaming of. The prices are good, but no better than fairway and there is far less selection. Now, maybe it's not fair to compare any grocer to fairway, but so long as we've got them, they're my standard at least. Hmmph.
And there's very little to speak of beyond the produce here. I'm sure it's great if you live nearby but I would not recommend making a special trip.
Amazing selection, cheap produce, and fast service. Choose a time when it's not mobbed. It's open 24 hours, so take your pick. The produce should be used within a few days, but who cares? It's fresh and ready to eat.
I don't think the store packaged items are that great a deal, but you make up for it with everything else. It's a lot cleaner and more organized than Circus Fruits. It's worth the extra few blocks of walking.
3 Guys has been around for over 30 years. When you drive past this place you cant help but notice the swarms of people picking out their fresh fruit and vegetables and its all so cheap. You enter the store and theres many more vegetables to choose from along with many international and kosher foods. They even have an olive bar...my boyfriend LOVED this.
Spent $35 and came home with about 10 bags worth of groceries. Love this place!
we used to come to this fruit stand all the time as kids. Glad to see that the place is still around.
Oh, 3 Guys what have I done all these years without you!!!
Imagine a 24hr produce/specialty market that is ridiculously reasonable, offers delivery and has a huge variety of fruits, vegetables, cheeses, breads, nuts and coffees. It does get very crowded, so best to go during an off time or just deal with the chaos.
They take credit cards too which I find as a major plus. They will not disappoint you and when I say "reasonably priced" I am not kidding. You will leave with five or six bags filled with stuff for about 30 to 40. How about 12 grapefruits for 1.99 or a pound of roasted coffee all for 5.99 per pound-so many flavors to choose from.
Come hungry and leave happy. Hey its good for you, shopping for fresh fruits and veggies.
I drove past this place once on my way to the BQE, it was 11pm and there was a good crowd standing around shopping.
A couple days later I saw a special on it on the news, NY1 or something. So I had to check it out.
I will never buy my produce any where else! I've never been disappointed in the choices here. All the nuts I can imagine :)
Leeks, eggplants, zucchini, pineapples, mangoes... basically, almost any vege or fruit you need to fill your quota for the food pyramid each day (ahem, that's 3-5 vege servings, and 2-4 fruit). I went at about 1am so there were only about five people shopping, so it wasn't a hassle at all. The staff barely pay any attention to you, as they're so busy stocking the goods. That's okay though--- for good produce at killer cheap prices, I don't mind fending for myself.
My favorite stuff is all inside. The olive bar, the dried fruits and dates and figs and such, all the nuts. Great variety of unusual stuff in there. Good farm yogurt sometimes, too.
I need to ask if anyone has seen this: an older, completely masculine fellow who crossdresses and mingles in the 3 Guys crowd. Anyone hep to this guy? Damndest thing. There he was -- cockeyed wig, makeup, skirt, sweater. He was totally not trying to 'pass' as female, just putting on women's clothes, steeling up his nerve, and shopping for melon at 3 Guys from Brooklyn. I assume he's well-known there because no one paid him any regard at all.
I must say I found blueberries cheaper yesterday at Steve's C-Town.
I never thought I'd be writing a review for a fruit stand, but what the hell. This is a great place to buy fruits and veggies. But watch out those old people are mean with their little carts. They have no manners and will plow right into you.
Produce, excellent selection - cheap cheap cheap. Other good stuffs too. However, too crowded.
This place rocks! It was close by where we stayed with family. Ahhh......walking here late at night in our pajamas or boxers to see what they got. Good times!
This place is absolutely amazing. I go there continuously to shop for my produce and as always I have a great experience. Not only are the prices more than reasonable but I am always able to find exactly what I want. The foods are fresh and never a disappointment. I reccommend this place to anyone who wants to save tons of money on great food!!!!
I have mixed feeling on this place, I love how huge it is and the selection, and you can find lots of less common fruits and veggies here, they have a great selection of foreign goods. The prices can be great especially the specials. However the place is not an enjoyable shopping experience at all, if you don't have tons of patience you will go crazy here,as between the huge amount of selection crammed in with the massive crowd of shoppers makes navigating this place pure Hell. I suggest going to Circus fruits 2 blocks away.
This place is very convienent because it is extremely close and it's open 24/7. It's extremely crowded in this place, it's dirty and the workers harass you and undress you with their eyes at every turn. I avoid this place for the better.
This is my favorite produce and fruit store. Prices are unbelievable and everything is fresh. The best thing is, it's always open. Look out for produce that are in season. I had once purchased some sweet corns and they were 8 for $1.99.
Magical place, especially if you can avoid the after-work crowds. Extensive selection of fruits and veggies at prices that I haven't seen beaten even at the back alley Chinatown places. Inside they have a nice little selection of cheeses, dried fruits/nuts, and breads.
This place is just pure value and there's even some good people watching to boot. Take the N to Ft. Hamilton and see for yourself.
I really don't know what other people are talking about, especially the guy from California. 3 Guys is certainly cheap, but the produce is 3rd rate, and it's not fresh. It's always overcrowded with pushy people. If you like getting shoved around, this is your place. Obviously I can't stand it.
So happy that someone clued me in to this place. I dig their slogan, "The original poor peoples' friend" - it's spot on. The prices are insanely cheap. Even better, it's all stuff that's healthy. I filled up my cart for about $40. I was really impressed by the huge variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, including exotic ones that I'd never heard of. You can also get nice cheeses, olives, fresh baked bread, and dried fruit here. To avoid the crowds, try going during the afternoon on a weekday.
great place to buy cheap & fresh
I'm in law school. I'm poor. I walked out of here with a HUGE bag of fruits, veggies, pudding, and olives for $6!!!! So yeah, I like it.
