I am telling you, go see Karen! Currently she's assisting for Don, but on Mondays and Tuesdays she's available for cuts, colors, blow outs, etc. I've been seeing her for a few years (she used to assist at another salon), so she's pretty much perfected my hair cuts and color! We experiment every so often with the color, with teal and yellow highlights to neutral brown and the current copper brown (yes, my hair is copper and it looks fly because Karen knows that my skin tone can work well with copper tones.)
so if you're in the Valley Fair area and you're in the mood to try something new, see Karen. She's got great skill and a funny personality! -

Coincidence that "Amanda" and "Amazing" both start with the letter A? I think not. After 5 years with my last hair lady I was forced to find a new hair lady (due to distance and schedules clashing) that could meet my high expectations and extreme pickyness. So, I consulted the Holy Grail that is Yelp and found 3 Fifty Eight and the rockin' reviews for Amanda.
From the moment I walked in the door I received A+ service. Amanda is SO sweet and really easy to talk to. She asked all the right questions to figure out what I wanted and delivered to a perfection. We chatted the whole time about our dogs and my upcoming wedding. She was unbelievably easy to talk to, which is an added bonus to a stellar cut. I was a little nervous at first but as soon as Amanda starting talking to me about my hair I was instantly relaxed and confident that she was listening to what I wanted. I am happy to say that I have found myself a NEW hair lady. I recommend Amanda to anyone out there seeking someone who will listen to what you want, ask the necessary questions so you share the same vision, and deliver exactly what you ask for. Happy hair! -

I LOVE THIS SALON!!!!
I get Brazilian Blowouts every 3 months and they transform my curly spiral curls into smooth, straight, shiny soft hair, I never thought my hair would ever look the way it does!
I go to Meghann for Color, Highlights & Low lights - she is the best colorist I have EVER been to!!!
Meghann also cuts my hair- I'm a fan of long hair, so I only let her trim and do layers, but she's also done bangs on me in the past and no joke, EVERY time I go out after getting my hair done, strangers always stop me and compliment my hair & ask where I get it done!
Meghann & Amanda are AWESOME on Brazilian Blowouts- they have definitely perfected the blowout!
Amanda is great styling hair, anytime I ask her to style me, once again, everyone stops and compliments my hair! The attention is crazy, but so flattering!
I highly recommend these two! And their prices for what they do- can you say amazing?! I see these girls once a month (I'm a fake blonde and absolutely hate roots) and they definitely do not break the bank, go check them out! -

Amanda is amazing!!!
My sister recently had her done by Amanda, and it looked FABULOUS!
I had an appointment with Amanda the very next day.
I had been box-dyeing my hair jet black for five years. Also, after having a daughter two years ago, I was in desperate need of a change!
After discussing what I wanted with Amanda, we decided on chunky blonde and caramel highlights, and a new haircut. We were both a little skeptical about how much my hair would 'lift', since I had been dying it for so long, but the final outcome was great!!! I LOVE my color and cut!!!
Amanda took her time with me (almost four hours! sorry Amanda!), and was so knowledgable, skillful, cordial, and fun. I loved listening to the XM radio, too!
I would recommend anyone to Amanda, in a heart beat!! I already have my follow-up appointment with her in October!! -

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Amanda!! She takes her time to figure out exactly what it is that you want.
I have being dying my hair black for the past 10 years and spontaneously decided to go for the Ombre look. I dont trust ANYONE with my hair, so I was a little skepticle at first. I printed out a lot of pictures and took them to my appointment. She took her time to look through them and brought out several sample colors for me to look at. I felt like she really took the time to understand what I was asking for and she was honest about what my results would be.
I spent a couple of hours in there, which was expected, but the end result looked AMAZING....
I left my stylist, of 10+ years for her and I wouldnt think twice about referring anyone but AMANDA to my friends. -

I had my haircut by Nora. She is very thorough and asks a lot of questions about what you want. It seems very important for her to get it done right. She's sweet, funny, and has a gentle touch too which is a bonus. I've gone to many hairdressers who jerk you around.
The best thing is that she really doesn't cut off more than you want her to. Most stylists are all scissor happy, right?
Oh, and she also doesn't push all kinds of product on you.

Amanda is the best!
I have thinner hair and was getting tired of always putting it in boring ponytails. Amanda gave me gorgeous, full extensions and she matched my hair color from a photo I took on my cell phone! She is so accomodating of my busy work and school schedule and my hair looks AMAZING after every time I see her. The best part about getting my hair done by Amanda is that she listens to what I want, but also gives me advice about the best cuts and colors for my face shape and skin tone. I've never had someone style my hair so well who's been this affordable! -

Those of you that know me know I have black hair...and I do not mean colour...I mean, straight out of Africa...the tightest curls you have ever seen wrapped around each other into a unique puff of hair that I call my own...
My mom has been coming to Megan forever...and I had been doing my hair on my own which just meant shaving it down.. My moms hair is red and semi straight...Irish hair...total opposite of me...but mom said I should let Meg have at it and so I did...
The start of the session was just going over what I kinda wanted and looking, poking and pulling to get an idea of how my hair works
Then...she grabbed the scissors and had at it....
I had no idea how this was going to come out but I can tell you...MAN...I have never been more pleased with a haircut. It was a perfectly styled fro of natural hair.
I am going back again to have it trimmed this week and then I would love to follow up with colour...change it up a bit...
....but seriously....ladies out there with the real deal natural black hair...do not doubt the powers of Megan! She will do you right. -

Meghann is fantastic! She's thoughtful, real & attentive. She's constantly studying up on all the newest looks & can talk you through the process & care on a dime when you ask her about any of them.
I love that she sits with you for 10-15 minutes to consult first, bringing out color swatches, going through photos, etc. It makes you feel important and that she's in no rush.
I don't think I've ever loved my color so much! EVER. And my cut is impeccable. She doesn't edit your requests based on what she would want to do - but she's ready with an opinion if you ask.
She doesn't accept tips - what?! Yes, it's true.

I went to Nora she is a new addition to the salon. She is super sweet and will not cut off more than what you request. A very important key to the client. I had my hair trimmed and thinned out some, now it feels light and breezy. Plus I still have the length to it. Very happy.

Amanda is the best!!! In the past when I have gotten my haircut at other places, it never comes out how I want. I asked for an inch cut off and that is exactly what I got, no surprises! Also, Amanda colored my hair and it was perfect. She understood exactly what I was looking for and nailed it! I will not be going to anyone else to get my hair done. She pays attention to detail and it always comes out perfect!

I've been calling and calling and calling. Man they are hard to get a hold of! This review is really only for their responsiveness to my phone calls. I did want to mention that their rates for hair cuts start at $65 and they are apparently now called Don Chapelle Salon.

So I take back my 10 stars, but my high rating will not change because I have poker straight hair that she got to curl (and remain curly, though less, after sleeping on it). However, my second hair cut I wasn't so in love with - which is odd because I asked for the same thing. Its growing out nicely, but she left one side longer then the other and when i called the next day and left a message to have it fixed, no one ever returned my call.

KG DOES MY HAIR!!! and i love it! the atmosphere at 3 fifty eight is as good as it gets. Friendly staff, SNACKS while you wait!!! Plus, you have someone who listens to what you want and actually DOES IT! it doesn't get any better. Kalani is excellent at what she does and now, i have a permanent hair stylist. My daughter even gets her hurr done by her! Can't wait till my next appointment.

I love this place. Three Fifty Eight Salon is so conveniently located, right between Santana Row and Valley Fair. Meghann has been styling my hair for about three years. She is fabulous! She will always listen to my new whim and make it happen. I go from blonde to brunette and back all the time. If I have a problem with how my hair turns out I just give her a call and she finds a way to squeeze me in. They have several great stylists who work at the salon. If you call to make an appointment without a referral you may have to wait for one of them to get back to you. They always have snacks, drinks, and plenty of trashy magazines to read. :) It's great to just go there and relax while Meghann works her magic.

Meghann has done my hair for the past five years, and I've never once been unhappy with it. It's great because she is so willing to do something with my hair when I have no idea what to do with it. I've gone from simple, basic highlights to all-out blonde bleach with hot pink. She knows what she's doing and she's absolutely wonderful. If you're willing to let your hair be her bonsai tree, then go for it! Not to mention a very comfortable, friendly environment in which to get your hair done. Good music playing & you can pretty much have a conversation involving everyone in the salon at once. I really wish I could find another salon just like it here in LA!!

You want an amazing haircut and a fantastic experience? THIS is the place to go! I found Meghann through a referral of two people and I feel like she's my hairstylist soulmate :) First off, she has great hair, and is always experimenting with fun styles and colors (always something I look for). At the beginning of your hair appointment, she will sit down with you in the lobby and discuss your thoughts on cut and color. If you want her opinion, she'll be happy to give you ideas, but she is equally happy to just listen and take direction. Her assistant, Amanda is also great! She usually asks me what I'm drinking that day (they have everything from coffee to wine!) and always helps with the prep work and styling at the end. Meghann is also a perfectionist, and will make sure you think everything is perfect with your hair before you leave the salon. I love my time there, I know I will get to read all the great celebrity gossip magazines and throw a little personal gossip in the conversation as well. The location is fantastic, just a couple minutes from Santana Row, and the price beats anything you'll find in there! Her appointments fill up quickly, so please do not expect that she can see you the day you call. A few words of advice; always try to make your next appointment at the end of your current one and make sure you bring your checkbook or cash, as she does not take credit cards.

i love kalani! she first did my hair for my brother's wedding and i received many compliments!! i know i can always count on her to fix my hair for events or cut my hair in any style i want. my mom loves her, grandma and even my 6 yr old daughter danielle. she cut 10 inches off her hair and gave danielle a modern cute bob cut. i honestly can't picture myself going to anyone else for my hair.
