The Tiramisu was the best chocolate dessert I've ever had. Kudos!

One of my favorite places in New Braunfels. We stumbled on it after trying some cupcakes at the farmers market. My family has had everything from cookies to thier amazing hot chocolat. We make it a point make a trip a couple of times a month. That and their the only place i know that has homemade macaroons. I've been on a mad hunt for thoes things in a reasonable driving distance and wasn't dissapointed when i tried them on our last visit.

I consider myself a bit of a cupcake aficionado; if it were possible for me to make living tasting cupcakes and reviewing them,I would surely be doing so right this moment. Naturally, I was quite thrilled when a friend I was visiting suggested we visit.
We had 2 cupcakes between us, the Snickerdoodle and a Strawberries and Creme, both of which were polished off ( I may or may not have licked the plate clean....or at least very seriously considered it).
The Strawberries and Creme cupcake was perfection. It was moist and sweet with a white cake and an infusion of strawberry bits with a white frosting drowning in sprinkles. Yum City, population me. I would definitely order another.
The Snickerdoodle cupcake tasted just like the cookie, and was piled high with swirled frosting goodness, but the cake itself was plagued by the dryness that is often the undoing of it's cookie counterpart. Not even close to terrible, but not nearly as scrumptious as its strawberry sister either.
The walls were a bright pink, the seating was plentiful, and brides to be breezed in and out during our visit; this seems to be the "go to" bakery in town, and I can certainly see why. Just missed the 5 star mark because of the dry 2nd cupcake. -

I drove out here today on a complete whim. I really wanted wanted a cupcake and I was not disappointed!
The service was FANTASTIC! As someone who works in customer service, I was really impressed by the atmosphere and people. They were friendly and very helpful. They patiently waited for me to make my selections and packaged them so I could travel with them back to San Marcos.
I bought the Persian Love cupcake just because it was unusual. It was light and so full of flavor. My boyfriend and I devoured it in a second! I also purchased a chocolate cupcake for my boss and a strawberry-lime cupcake to enjoy later. Well, my chocolate loving boss was so enticed by the strawberry-lime that she chose that one!
They also have some amazing scones! I got a pineapple-coconut one that smelt like a piña colada. When I saw that their tiramasu was only $6 (restaurant price, mind you), the lady helping me said that she could put it in a to go box for me. I had just paid with my credit card, but I couldn't help myself. I could tell by just licking the spoon (it was in a fancy glass dish) that it was so worth it!
I will definitely continue to visit 2tarts bakery and keep them in mind for parties and events! -

I've been searching for caterers for our wedding and ran into this place's website. I also decided to pay a visit and check out the baked goods. I tried the caramel pecan scone and it was delicious. I can still taste it!
I also got a cup of coffee which was made on the spot for me and was super tasty. My only complaint was that the cupcake my fiancee got was a bit dry, but other than that, everything was perfect. The service was outstanding. The counter girl patiently explained everything we were asking, offered suggestions and was a total sweetheart.
Can't wait to try something else from this place soon! -

2tarts catered my wedding, savory and sweet, and they did a fabulous job. I still have people fondly reminisce about the pork tenderloin and "grown up" mac and cheese, and the homemade ice cream sandwiches (they do fancier food too... we're just not fancy like that). As a proud Yelper and food-lover, I'm more than happy to rehash the perfect frosting/cake ratio on the strawberry cupcakes with buttercream lime frosting, rather than the semi-inappropriate toast courtesy of my sister.
I am delighted that they have a shop in New Braunfels. Important note: Although they cater all sorts of food, the bakery is just that-- sweet baked goods. The shop itself is adorable; men might find it to be a bit of an estrogen/cutesy overload, but brave all the bright colors and cupcake imagery, because the baked goods are seriously delicious. They have great hours on the weekend-- open till midnight-- in case you need a sweet fix, and they serve my favorite San Antonio coffee (yum, Brown Coffee). I'm pretty sure they don't have wifi, but I can also understand why they don't. I might never leave.Comment from April W. of 2tarts Bakery & Catering 3/24/2011

What an amazing bakery! We are visiting from Galveston and I'm obsessed with cupcakes! After searching on http://yelp.com and looking at multiple local bakeries I picked this one because of their hours! We came in on our first trip on Friday night at 11 pm. I got 2 cupcakes, the strawberry lime and the blackberry lemon. They were amazing. Fresh fruit was cooked right into the cupcake. We came back on our way out of town today on Monday and they were out of some cookies that my husband fell in love with on Friday, oatmeal butterscotch, and the cute red head baker lady made him some on the fly while we waited! I will def be back for the excellent customer service and amazing treats!

Austin, TX
Of course this would happen. Just three weeks before I pack up my life in New Braunfels and move to Austin, I discover a new little baked goods depository. And it's so much better than Naeglin's ("Oldest Bakery in Texas" does not equate to the best).
Just to look at the place, you feel excited! Bright, clean, fresh colors and super hip light fixtures, an awesome stained concrete floor (with a cupcake design to greet your feet at the front door), and great photography make this place feel like it's smack in the middle of South Congress or some other ultra hip corner of Austin. Tucked in the store is a little place for tykes to pass the time with a munchkin-sized table and toys to delight anyone five years or under. They also stay open until 10 pm most nights. This place gets it. It's not just what you serve, but how you serve it. I love it when places get that.
The options ranged from cookies to cupcakes to slices of cakes to other things I can't quite remember. They had a great little drink selection with some super cute, tasty looking sodas and freshly squeezed lemonade. I decided on a picture perfect carrot cake cupcake with sprinkles and a glass of their homemade lemonade.
I was so excited. Usually, I eat cupcakes alone because I like to basically make out with it first by eating the icing with my fingers and then going after the cake. But the cupcaketress kindly pointed out the forks and I obliged even though I wasn't sure it would be put to use. What I discovered upon removing the paper wrapping was that this was not just a fluffy little cupcake...the typical afterthought of a bakery. This had weight. This was a separate cake, all its own, that had its own validity and influence in the world. I decided it must be eaten with the fork. The icing was so creamy and fresh. Tiny sprinkles didn't overtake the experience, but merely added to the prettiness as I tore into it. The cake was moist and I was surprised with bits of carrots and what I believed to be, walnuts. My only dislike was that at certain points, it was almost too moist. Just a couple of the bites felt like they slid down my throat without even chewing. I don't know how big of a problem this is, seeing as how I've had so many disappointing, dry, stale cupcakes. But I feel the need to mention it.
My lemonade was light, fresh and not too sugary. It was a great addition to my significant little cupcake.
I can count myself lucky that I discovered this when I did. Any later and I wouldn't have as many opportunities to scour their case for more delights.
Thank you 2Tarts. New Braunfels needed this. -

One of my favorite places in New Braunfels. I've had tarts, truffles, cupcakes, cookies and bread pudding here and not one of my desserts disappointed me. 2tarts has amazing hours and I love going on Saturdays between 10 and midnight when it's happy hour! My husband said that the hot chocolate is the best that he's had.

The wonderful ladies of 2tarts did my very yummy wedding cake. We had a small wedding, and while I came in about a week before the wedding the owner was very accomidating. She made just what we imagined. Reasonable prices, and even the cake haters rejoiced. I also stopped in for a very yummy chocolate cupcake, chocolate ganache was to die for! Will use again!!

I have kept up with this business for a while and glad to see it expand to a location in town. I stopped by the other day early morning with my mom for coffee and a light breakfast. The staff was super friendly and nothing but smiles. Everything from the Bake good case called my name, I ordered the Spinach and Blue Cheese Quiche and my mom got the Apple Empanada. We washed it down with some incredible Latin American Coffee and an Iced Tea. The Quiche was juicy with hints of Blue Cheese on every bite. The Empanada had an amazing crust and yummy filling. I loveeee that this place is opened early and closes late, which is a big deal in our small quiet town! I have to return for the delish looking cupcakes and the Mint-Hibiscus Tea! The atmosphere music was a record player playing in the back, only vinyl can give that great old sound I love. I found this to be a great touch, better than any digital or Musak player :) Something about Cat Stevens in the background makes me want to stay a little longer and come back for more :)

Review from Q Q.
New Braunfels, TX
I loved the website and read all these great reviews and was sooo excited to find something like this in New Braunfels, so we went a couple of times. The first time we loved it. And it was really nice that the owners Mom cleans alot you can see, but I would like to be able to leave my things on table while ordering something else and it not be cleaned away thatttt quick, and also to be able to just chill. But she is nice and friendly, and very cool. The prices were a lil steep considering each item. But we rolled with it and spent more than should have each time, cause we were into it.
The white wedding cake cookie I think it was called is one of my favorites, because it wasn't too sweet as some things are. Had powdered sugar on top and some lil nuts within and not too bad price, right over a dollar.
The ding dong look alike cupcake was pretty good. More ok.
The Peanut Butter Chocolate cupcake was pretty good.
The Lemon cupcake was not lemony and just ok.
The chocolate truffle cookie ball was pretty good.
The white truffle cookie ball was way too sweet.
The quiche was not to our liking, no flavor.
The jalapeno scones were great.
The iced blueberry scone was ok.
The green orange cupcake kids said was great.
The peanut butter cookies were pretty darn good and much better deal at 2 for $1, as were the chocolate chip ones cause they were minis, but choc chip ones just ok.
The lil kids area is great, but should be moved to area not next to front door, so you can relax a lil more.
I guess I like the owner Mom lady and the place so much that I wish the baked goods had come up to be so much different and flavor than sugar as most all other stores and bakeries end up tasting like. And we were actually sad that we quickly got over it cause we thought it was gonna be our new place. I'm not saying I wouldn't go back, but that might take me awhile to try again. And I never saw all those things that other people talked about. It's a scratch bakery, so it's whatever is in the case at the time you go. I guess we just happened to go everytime when it was not those things. I'm hoping it will get better with time. It's still better than Naeglins.
