Neighborhood: Brooklyn/Park SlopeEggs benedict was solid. Good coffee, but not a diner.
If I want eggs and coffee, I want it cheap, fast, and with more butter.
Who serves toast for breakfast cold and without butter?
Nice and clean though.

Their recent renovation is great! Dare I say there are a lot of Manhattan-wannabee restraints in Park Slope, but one only needs to scratch the surface to find that more thought has gone into 'looking blandly uptown' than service, environment, or food. Stainless steel juxtaposed with natural materials alone does not make for fine dining.
2nd street cafe has the ingredient that sets it apart from the others:it actually has character and is a good restaurant. And the fact that that character is also conducive to enjoyable eating, service that seems to stay interested in getting the food to your table, and a clean, light look that is terrific for brunch, are things that keep me coming back.
