Neighborhood: Brooklyn/Park SlopeTasty brunch but a little expensive (around $10 for three eggs anystyle w/home fries and toast). They don't have any inclusive brunch plans and a mimosa will set you back $4.75. Juices are about $3.50 for a large, which is pretty much a normal sized glass.
The food was tasty and I liked that they had a vegetarian sausage option. There is also the plus of window seating for people-watching on 7th Ave.

I have not been here in over a year and a half but prior to that had been there MANY times. I have found as the years have gone by the portions have shrunk the prices have grown. I understand why people flock there it is kid friendly and sometimes you just want regular food not asian fusion, panini, cubano etc.
I will probably never go here again though but that is just me.
UPDATE: 10/2/07
2nd St has undergone a massive renovation and now has a full bar. The prices are on par with what they were last time I went-the food was decent. They still have the prix-fixe I'm bumping it up to 2.
I went there for brunch and for dinner. (no in the same day :) ) Both were great- really solid, well-prepared food. The owner was around and really nice, you could tell the place was run really well with a lot of attention and passion.

Who knows...maybe I'll find myself in Park Slope again soon. When I am, I'd consider going to 2nd St. Cafe again just to check out the art on the walls a bit closer. The brunch food we had some pretty good.
I went for dinner and had a good experience. The menu is large and has a good variety of fare and pricing. I have had two of their large salads which were both very good. The waiters are very nice. There is a laid-back feel. It feels kid-friendly though there weren't any kids in the restaurant on the Saturday night I visited.

A dependably delicious, if not very inventive, brunch spot. Pancakes are fluffy, almost an inch thick, and served with yummy strawberry butter. My personal favorite is eggs benedict, and they have a couple of variations with avocado/ham/etc. The wait on a sunny weekend morning has been 15-25 minutes for me (never tried other meals here yet). Slightly expensive for a weekly habit, but not too outrageous. Crayons+paper on every table admit that everyone's a kid at heart.
