Woah, this company must have some fierce competitors from the looks of these reviews. I don't believe they represent the company because I happen to like my 29Prime account rep a lot because of his patient and positive attitude and the work they've done so I told him I would post a review.

I don't know everything but I know in this day and age if you own a small business like me, being on the internet is so important...almost necessary.  If you aren't, it's like what century are you from?  So it isn't rocket science.

I bought a prepaid package for a year from 29 Prime.  I'm so busy with my business and my family that I don't want to have to think about or deal with my listing and website.  I just want to hand the job off to someone else so that's what these guys are there for.

It was either hire an IT guy or let an seo company take care of it so I went with the second option since it's more economical.  It's been 3 months into the prepaid deal and they did precisely what they said they were going to do which was get my listing on the first page of Local Google Maps...for 9 of the 10 keywords.  It was that easy.  Sure, I had to pay but it was worth it.  Also, I made sure that all of my questions were answered up front and even had them email me the terms and answers to my questions.

Just make sure you understand everything clearly and it works out.  But in general, it was a very positive move on my part for my business.

I'm not an expert on shady business tactics by any means, but these guys aren't on the up-and-up at all.

Upon first contact with this company's sales rep, I'd already heard from a few different companies using similar marketing campaigns, but previously did not have a budget for it. I decided to give the sales guy a shot at earning my business. Their salesman promised that, while the terms of the setup said that it would take up to 60 days to get my "page" up on the front of google, it would most likely happen within a week. This hook is part of the problem.

During the setup their tech mysteriously couldn't find my existing google places listing, saying they would have to make me a new one. I double and triple checked and myself and another company offering the same services were both able to find it properly. This was a tactic they were using to avoid giving me more traffic to a page I own myself. The way they bring me up in rankings apart from google local is with a custom built static page of their own that they can easily link back to and bring higher in rank. I have yet to see evidence that they have done this.

Since then I've gotten a "ranking summary" claiming that they've gotten my page on the upper rankings of google local. The rankings they're referring (and even linked me directly to) to are existing rankings (that I set up myself) targeted at extremely specified keywords. In essence, they're trying to charge me for my own work, and trying to claim that they keyword "XXX Service in Sacramento" is the same as "XXX Service in 95827". The two keywords are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. In order for a customer of mine to find this "first page listing" they would have to specify that exact keyword containing the exact same zip code. Most people search based on the area name, not the zip code, and using google's shared location only works for very specific area codes.

In essence I'm getting about 2% of the exposure I'm paying for and they are using my own SEO work as proof they've "done their job"

Here's an alternative company that offers the EXACT SAME SERVICE with LEGAL GUARANTEES and a whole stack of good service history: http://www.yodle.com

Reasons not to go with 29 Prime from my experience:

~ They can't answer tough or specific SEO questions when I ask them
~ They hang up when they do get a tough question - I've been hung up on many, many times.
~ They robotically and auto call from phone numbers purchased or scraped from web sites (Many representatives have told me they obtained my number from my website).
~ They guarantee 1st place listings on search results (as told to me from all representatives I've talked to)
~ They change their phone number on a regular basis (I talk to the representative each time which they verify the company they are with)
~ The number doesn't ever work when you call them back (I've tried to call all of them back after I noticed the first one didn't work)

Let me state clearly that I have never used their services at all so I'm not commenting on that!

I'm just putting this review for the very annoying phone calls I consistently still receive.

    -------------------------------------

Also since posting this review and a blog post about this I've seen a few things:

~ Many people have posted or contacted me explaining their "situation" after reading my post / reviews.

~ I've been given a cease and desist internet defamation letter from 29 Prime.   Just to clarify (and I did make sure) all my statements are true facts that have happened to me.

I have to disagree with the previous reviewers. My experience was definitely different. Maybe I was lucky and got a good rep on the phone. I have a business with my twin brother and was shocked when I didn't see my store come up on google when I did a search. I had to click and click until I found something. I was determined to get on that first page and looked up these guys to help me do it. The gentleman on the phone was extremely friendly and explained everything to me clearly and concisely. Two months later I was really pleased to see progress in my ranking. They truly delivered and I just referred my sister-in-law who has a flower shop in
Islip. I have no complaints. The customer service reps have been knowledgeable, polite and very helpful.  They send emails when they say they will and actually do return voicemail.  I don't know if they are the best out there but it has been good for our business.

My previous review of them was removed for some reason ... so I'm posting again.

I usually don't bother fighting people but these guys deserve it. They robo-call my cell phone after I have BEGGED them to stop. I've signed up for their DO NOT CALL list on their website but no luck.

They are now doing business under yet another name:
Paramount SEM -- I've gotten calls from them too. http://paramountsem.com/

My advice -- Stay Away --- they are bad new.

I'm sick and tired of these hustlers calling me.  I've told several of their operators to get me off their auto-call list.  I've never done business with them, I never solicited their services, and I'm NEVER going to do business with them.   My next step is to go to my cellphone provider and black-list their number.

Non-stop harassing calls from this company.  I am on the do not call registry and yet still the harassing phone calls.  They represent themselves as a part of google which is very deceiving and even when I have asked to be removed from their call list I continue to receive the harassing calls.  I finally asked to speak with a manager and she completely lost her cool and started yelling at me saying that 29 prime was not the only company calling me, which they are. Then when I asked for her name she hung up.  Seems to me that things are not very professional with this company and one I would stay very far away from.

SCAM SCAM SCAM... Have you noticed that ALL the 5-stars reviews on this company came from California?  Coincidently, 29 Prime's home office is also located in California.  Hm...a fatty coincident? *sneeze*  Sorry, I'm an allergic to bad ethics.

This company uses robo-telemarketing and pretends to be Google to sell a scam service that claims puts your business's website to the top of Google search results.  I pressed 1 to see if I can make a request to take my number off the calling list, and the person on the other end of the line made a sales pitch for their service and tried to sound legitimate by telling me that they are a "vendor of Google".  I don't even know what that means but it sounds like "fresh" cow manure.  There is a big disrepancy in representation by the real person on the other line compares to the automated message.

On the bottom of their website http://www.29prime.com, there is a Do Not Call list that you can submit your number to stop the unwanted call.  For this reason, 29 Prime at least deseve 1 star from me.  I submitted my number, so far, they haven't call again... yet.  If they do call again, I will begin to ship a dirty diaper to their office for every call.  The reason for my extreme cource of action is because the government does not have a system in place to protect business phone numbers from unwanted telemarketing.  Since my number is a *business* number, inbound telemarketing calls are not considered illegal.  That's fine, I have multiple alternative course of action that are more extreme, including forwarding their phone calls to their local fire department.

ATTN Business Owners:  If this company is dialing your personal phone (cell or home), it is in fact illegal to do so without your consent.  When the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991 (TCPA) was passed by the United States Congress in 1991 and signed into law by President George H. W. Bush as Public Law 102-243, it became illegal for any commercial entity to make sales call to your private home phone or private cell phone (without prove of your prior consent).  If your phone numbers are registered on the DO NOT CALL list and your registration is still up to date while the unwanted telemarketing calls persists:  Please contribute an online/telephone complaint at https://www.donotcall.... AND an online/telephone complaint to the Federal Trade Commission at: https://www.ftccomplai....  My recommendation is to start a spreadsheet to log the calls and make your best attempt to collect the following information for your complaint:
    1) Name of the Company calling and/or telephone number:
    2) Name and number as appeared on Caller ID (if applicable):
    3) Name of Product or Services being sold:
    4) Date & Time of the call.  How often, a day/week/month?
    5) Did the caller CLEARLY identify their company?
    6) Did the caller provide the company telephone number when asked?
    7) Do you have a current or previous relationship with the caller/company?
    8) What did the caller say?

The following links will get you up to speed in regards to telemarketing laws and recent amendments:

A friendly warning message for 29 Prime:  It is extremely disruptive and disrespectful when you interupt my business proceedings with your company's commerical interest.  I do not appreciate having to go pick up a telemarketing call when I have a large client shopping in my business.  Let it be known that your company DO NOT have my permission to have any further communication with my business, AMERICAN BLUE DIAMONDS.  I will be filing a complaint with the Texas Attorney General and the Federal Trade Comission about your business practice.  Have a wonderful day!

We had a horrible experience with 29 Prime. Promised us way more than they delivered. They did more damage to our company in 30 - 45 days and virtually dried up our Web business which was averaging $10,000 - $15,000 a month, eroding much of the progress that I had achieved on my own.

During our initial conversation where they made lots of promises about helping us show up more prominently in Google Places they failed to mention that there were setting up a 6-page website. They didn't ask for my approval before it went live. They used pictures that were totally inapppriate to our industry and our business. They changed the focus of our services which really ticked me off. They also didn't tell me that this site effectively directed traffic away from our site to theirs.

I saw our business losing position in Google Sponsored Ads, Google Places and in the organic search results. I tried to cancel our relationship at 30 days since our Web leads were significantly adversed impacted and our search engine position had deteriorated. 29 Prime told me that I had to wait at least 60 days before I could cancel. I tried to cancel at 60 days and it took me a total of 5 calls. Getting them to take down the site was a real challenge. I was effectively locked out of our Google Places account so I couldn't even change the text and the pictures. I finally to notify Google and they took down my Google Places listing. Of course I was not happy when this happened. I thought that Google would just give me access to edit the account.

I would tell anyone to steer clear of 29 Prime or at least proceed with extreme caution.

This is another one of those companies that uses an auto-dialer that calls you with a pre-recorded message that says "Hello. Press 1 to update your free Google 411 listing. Press 1 now. Please Press 1. [disconnect]". I pressed 1 and was connected to a representative who told me their company name was "29 Search," which is owned by 29Prime, Inc (http://www.29prime.com).

Called everyday until I "pressed 1" and had to hear another robo-message.   Googled "29 Prime" just to find a real number and then had to hear more robos.  Finally found a "Do Not Call" link in the small fine print, and filled out their form.    Let's see how it goes.

I've never done business with them, luckily.  They keep calling my cell phone with their automated sales pitch despite multiple requests to be removed.  My cell is also registered with http://donotcall.gov, which obviously they are ignoring.  Just filed my BBB complaint, let's hope SOMETHING gets done about this!
