Oh, 28806. How I wish you still existed. Nova deleted my favorite sandwich, jacked the price considerably, and has no parking. I miss you.

My girlfriend and I checked this place out on a whim last week and I was blown away. I got the duck breast with a red grape chutney, grilled summer squash and polenta. I have never cared much for polenta but that was because I hadn't been to 28806. The duck was easily the best I have had in Asheville and went perfectly with the grape flavors. I can't wait to go back.

As a deli...sorry, it tries but when you order one thing and get another???
The bread is great, but the rye is not real Jewish rye seed flavor especially with corned beef or pastrami. Maybe NC has change the flavor to something other than the original. I was really hoping for those basic tastes in this place...but it is NOT a deli! I've lived in NC for over 30 years, everyone seems to want to change the taste to suit North Carolinians. If it's German food or Jewish food...don't change it to NC German or Jewish.
Oh and don't call for take out...they sit the phone down and walk away.
