Review from Ann P.
My family and I dined here two years ago and loved it. I finally found my way back last night. Jillian and I headed over for an early dinner on a very cold and blustery night. Curtis, the same Jamaican waiter from two years ago seated us near fireside. We loved our spot although it was very warm but enjoyable. We chose a lovely Savignon Blanc by the bottle (sorry did not write down names but we had considered Oyster Bay but Curtis made another rec that proved to be very nice). We shared a goat cheese souffle (sublime) and I ordered the roasted Mahi Mahi and Jillian ordered the chicken with chanterelle sauce. Oh the bread, I suspect Pain D'avignon was amazing because it came with sweet butter and an amazing salt with granulated kalamata olives. It was so good I begged Curtis for a little bit to take home. He procured two small plastics full of this salty treat. AMAZING waiter..good stuff.
We loved our food..we loved Curtis, the ambiance was tranquil and relaxing. They close next week so Curtis can go home to Discovery Bay. We will be back in April or perhaps for Mother's Day Brunch.
The bill was 123.00 with 18% tip included. I left an additional gratuity for amazing service.Listed in: Romantic Cape Cod

Oh my vegan deliciousness! Went last night and ate in the bar, called Thoreau's. Party of 8 and when the waitress came to the table, I quietly asked her if the chef might be able to prepare something vegan. She said of course, and left to alert the chef so he would have time to think about what he would create.
And create he did. I was served udon noodles with grilled or seared vegetables with crisp eggplant "chips" on top. I thought that was it until the next server came up with a small pitcher and informed me that what he was pouring was a wild mushroom infused broth. He poured it over the udon noodles and veggies to make the most delicious udon noodle-type soup. It was really phenomenal! I wanted to pick up my plate and drink the broth when I was done.
Kudos to the chef for being creative & making something delicious on the spot on a busy Friday night. I am so appreciative!
I will most definitely go back!!!!! -

If you are turned off by a stiff ambience and a puttin' on the ritz sort of crowd, let me warn you that is what you might find here--I did--but give it a try anyway. The food and service were great!
While waiting for our table, I was a little concerned about how much I'd enjoy my meal, based on the people in the bar and foyer. It looked like a roomful of Candace Bergens and Alec Baldwins in wacky Cape character for some Saturday Night Live skit. Men in pink blazers. People talking about money and golf. Ladies who look very unhappy and suffer through the expensive evening hoping a lychee martini can fix everything. Pretty lame. Several times, I'd said, "Let's just leave," but my husband wasn't as bothered by this would-be comedy and wanted to stay. And we did.
Kudos to you, hubby. Kudos to you!
Enter our waiter. He was so professional, warm, and efficient, it instantly set my evening in motion for a far better time once I was seated in the dining room. Our food was absolutely delicious! Drinks were great, dessert was delicious. Our portions were small-ish, but so flavorful and interesting that we left with the exactly the right amount of satiation.
It was nice for a romantic evening, but I would also love to go back with a group of friends one day. Now I just gotta find some high-dollar seersucker ... -

this place is really expensive.
It's also really good.
it's worth every penny.
I have eaten here several times and it's amazing each and every time. i will say that once I had my favorite dish ever. I do mean ever.
it was a corn mousse/pudding thing with lobster and Bearnaise sauce.
mmmmmmmmmmm orgasmic.
nothing else to say. -

Truly amazing! We had a fabulous dinner party for my grandmother's 90th birthday at this great place. There were 25 of us in all and we were served by the nicest people - very attentive and helpful. My food was absolutely delicious - scallops, mushroom ravioli, a beautiful salad. The wine list was extensive. And reasonably priced. They had a great Concannon petite syrah that was $9 a glass. Its a wine you can grab for about $12/bottle at the store but its top notch. They have a knack for finding some of the lesser priced wines and offering them by the glass.
And the VIEWS are sick. Awesome. Of course once the sun set, no view, but no problem. Beautiful lighting took over. I just loved this place and felt like they treated our family wonderfully, and it all came in at a decent budget.
Some of the people in my family complained about the salty seabass, but I didn't have that problem.
Wonderful! -

Great place to bring a loved one or someone you want to impress. Set the mood, the romance, the ambiance and did I mention 28 Atlantic is located at Wequassett Inn Resort? Easy enough to get a room if the mood is right.
We were there on a Saturday evening this summer. Of course there was an evening wedding at the Wequassett. Beautiful sunset with bag pipes playing in the background.
The place is your high end, fine dining on the Cape. Entrees on average are $30+ with an excellent dining experience for 2 around $200 with gratuity.
I had the lamb steak with the thai salad. Very good!! The others had the striped seafood bass special and the fish just flaked off with full flavor. Very good. Then again, what do you expect for $30+? I expect nothing short of scintillating every sensory stimulant in my body.
They serve just the right amount of portions. The size of your fist. And the presentation is wonderful. I can tell you - YOU WILL NOT leave hungry. -

Went for dinner on a Friday night with 3 other people and we all enjoyed our meals very much. Three of us had the Lobster and one the Lamb. The Lobster was cooked perfect in a Thai sauce that was a nice combination. My wife had the Lamb which I don't care for but she said it was excellent and she's a big Lamb fan. Service was excellent, quick and very helpful. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars is due to the 4 loud "gentlemen" who can in halfway through our meal with red solo keg cups in hand and sat down near us. They were very drunk and swearing up a storm. Not very classy, wish the staff would've done something about them.

Uninspired, bland, salty, depressing. The best part of the whole meal was the bread. The meal was bland nothing special, the service was average, not great, but the biggest disappointed for a guy who loves a desert was the cobbler. It wasn't that it tasted average - like the rest of the meal - it was more that it was just not good. For the first time in memory, neither my wife nor I could finish it, it was just so not good.
Lastly, for what you pay to eat at this place, they really need to work on the quality of their food, b/c right now saying it's "average" is pretty much of a kind stretch. Oh yea, and as for their menus, aside from the tacky blue water effect - really? - they haven't changed in years. Come on! At least make an effort! -

Absolutely wonderful experience. We couldn't get reservations at 28 Atlantic, so we ate at their bar, Thoreau's (we could, however, see the views that 28 Atlantic had, and oh my god, it was amazing). Our waitress, Monica, was wonderful. She was attentive without being overbearing. The food was absolutely amazing. Highly, highly recommended and we will definitely be returning.
Also, to first timers, a lot of people were seated at Thoreau's because they were not wearing appropriate clothes for 28 Atlantic. No shorts, no flip flops, collared shirts on men are a must. -

Chatham, MA
Had a 7pm reservation. Sat half hr before we got a cocktail. Extremely unorganized staff. Our server was very apologetic so I assume the problem was the kitchen. We finally got our appetizers an hour and a half after sitting down. We have been several times before and were always appreciative that the dress code was enforced as this restaurant is suppose to be upscale. Tonight we were very disappointed to see people walking in with jeans. Not appropriate for the level of dining they are advertising. Beautiful setting but in need of better management.

I had a wonderful evening at 28 Atlantic Restaurant. Dinner began with an amuse buse of focacia, then I had the strawberry shortcake foie gras as my appetizer. For my entree I ordered the veal oscar with crab cakes, and for dessert I had a something I can only describe as chocolaty with caviar. I ordered the madras as a mixed drink to get me started. Everyone I dined with shared their dishes and everything was yummy. At the end of the meal I insisted upon saying hello to the chef, I was pleased when he came out and I could fawn over him. I will definitely return and recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a very special evening.

We went here for our anniversary dinner over the summer while we were vacationing in Chatham for the week. The cuisine, view and ambiance were perfect. It is pricey, but it is very good. I agree, the portions are perfect in size - not too large. Definitely recommend this place for a nice dinner out.
