I haven't been to this place in a while, probably in a little over a year. When I first started going, it was great. I liked the ambiance- I've been here at night and during the day.

I like the small, intimate feel. This is a hole in the wall type of spot- meaning it's really small and unassuming. There isn't a dance floor, and at primetime it's usually standing room only. It packs a good crowd, and caters to the more urban/chic. The average age of the crowd is usually mid twenties to mid thirty-somethings...

During the spring and summer they have the back patio with bungalow style booth which are really nice. This is the best place to do their hookah.

The music is a good mix of up-top hip hop- old and new- and R&B.

The drinks are pretty good, and reasonable. Their Bob Marley cocktail is the best I've had in Atlanta. The food isn't great, it's ok. I will say their calamari is pretty on point. Everytime I've been there just about, I've gotten that. The seafood sampler is a hit as well. I tried a burger there once and it was burned to a crisp- although I asked for it medium. Meh...

Weds are hit or miss with the live local comedy. Thursdays are excellent with the live jazz. Very chill and laid back. That's probably my favorite day.  Fri and Sat are the answer to a low key night out on the weekend if you don't feel like the obnoxious clubs, or a precursor to the club, lol.

Ladies, this spot is nice for a girls night out, as a group, or a date. I wouldn't go here expecting to meet anyone. I feel like this is a low-key downlow spot, and unlike alot of other places in atlanta during primetime it isn't crawling with women- refreshing, yes, but still be skeptical....

Overall it gets three stars from me :)

Walking in the restaurant has a very trendy feel. I sit down and wait for the waitress. We look at the menu and choose what we want to eat. My fiance goes to the bathroom and then come back. He asked if the waitress had come. I said no then went to the bathroom myself. Came back still no waitress. I take a tour of the restaurant checking out the outside deck wich again had a very trendy feel. Come back still no waitress. We wait about 10 more minutes and the one waitress, during a very nice size 2:00 lunch crowd, appears. We tell her we would like to order. After placing an order for Jamaican bbq wings, a turkey burger and 2 side salads we wait. And wait and wait. And wait. A full hour.
Our food comes out luke warm at best. We ask for mayo for the burger. And guess what ? We wait and wait. 10 more minutes. Finally as she passed by we asked for the mayo again which she did then bring immediately, I guess seeing we were waiting on the mayo to begin eating our now cold food.
I heard some ladies from the next table, who had been seated and waiting for about 30 minute, begin to complain. The waitress tried to explain that she was trying to tidy up and take orders and serve and she was sorry.
The waitress was polite enough but it didn't change all of the waiting or the cold food. The prices were regular food prices for small portions of food. It was as if the management didn't truly understand the tapas concept. The food might have been tasty when it was hot but I guess since mine wasn't I won't know.

I've been to 255 lounge on a few occasions. 255 is a great pre game spot to stop by before actually going to the club or whatever else you have planned that evening.

The drinks are pretty good and reasonably priced, food, well nothing special but typical bar food.  The music is always good a mix of old and new hip hop and r&b.

The inside is not too big, so on the weekend this place gets packed, however there is an outside patio, which is pretty cool.

    Overall, pretty cool place

Turned completely off after M bar's service next door, I stopped here.  Glad I did, it's not worth a 25 min drive but it is nice.  The DJ was on point, the place looked good, the waitstaff was awesome.  My drinks were delivered even tho it was a full house.  The patio had a DJ and was pretty cool.  I know the patio is fun during the summer.

My Bob Marley drink was generous and got the job done quick.  It is the best drink on that menu if you want something strong!  If on this side of town I will be back.

I liked this place! Met some friends here for happy hour and wound up staying to bout 10pm! Nice crowd of people! It was laid back, jazzy attired, the food and drinks were good and waitresses were very attractive..too bad I don't fuck with waitresses like that! LOL! But they are definitely pretty and good at their HUSTLE! It's NOT large place, but large enough for the theme that they have going! I just had an overall good experience. I'll hit it again! My tab for the whole night was under $25 including a Long Island Iced Tea with the Jamaican Burger & Sweet Potato Fries...

I use to frequent this place because their food is good and it is around the corner from me. The reason I stopped was because of their service. I mean if u want a cute waitress, it's a good chance u will have one but I prefer good customer service. Again the food is good and they have lunch specials. To their benefit, the customer service isn't always bad.

As everyone knows on yelp...I am a huge supporter of Castleberry Hill and its establishments!  What I am not a huge fan of are businesses that take advantage of their customers and do not support the neighborhood and the community that resides here.

First, I don't enjoy you using my name and taking my yelp review to post it on another site.  To create an account with my name on it is just fraud!  Plagiarism can be found below:
    http://atlanta.citysea...

Second, I have been hearing from multiple people the lack of customer service at this establishment.  Seems like people were promised discounts off their tabs due to not having specific food, running out of wine and/or bad service.  Instead these people got their checks with the full amount on it.

i'm upset and pissed that 255 Tapas feel that they have to put up fake reviews all over the internet to better their establishment.  Actually after looking at the other reviews...I think MiLyfe G and Angie H are fake reviews with their lack of profiles!  Whatever 255 Tapas Lounge...shill this!

I'm going to stick with 4 stars right now, though we went during the soft opening and I don't think the kitchen was quite prepared. The burgers were mighty tasty though (we had the angus and steak burgers) and they have sweet potato fries, which I am pretty psych'd about, even though I need to forget that most days.

The burgers are noted as "Goodtimes Baby" burgers and they have a ton of them, angus, steak, chicken, turkey, crab...it's a pretty big list. They have one sampler platter that I saw, but it would be nice to have a sampler where you pick your own from the list of baby burgers.

The renovated space has a great bar and back patio area, which I can imagine would be an excellent space to rent out for parties. The management was all very nice and professional and offered a round of drinks since the kitchen was so slow.

Overall it seems like a nice addition to the neighborhood. Oh, and I should note that we rode our bikes there and were pretty grimy and they had no issue with us coming in, even encouraged it and the off-duty cops watching the front kept an eye on our unchained bikes while we were in there. Kudos for that!

Again, this was a soft opening and I'm sure there will be more reviews coming shortly....Joel :).

So I went to a "day party" here on Saturday... It was actually a lot of fun.  I can tell that this would probably not be the best place to hang out at night:  it's tiny on the inside and would probably be pretty crowded.  But to just go have a few drinks during the day - it's perfect!  They also have an outdoor patio which looked nice.

We sat at the bar and took FULL advantage of the $5 drink specials (note to yelpers:  ALWAYS remember to ask if there are drink specials... and ask often!)...

I didn't try the food though.  Tapas places are usually disappointing, and I read the reviews.  So I think I'll stick to daytime fun at 255... good times!

Love this place great music and its a hit or miss on the amount of ppl. It can be really packed and then next time scanty. Love that there is an outside area which is great when you are in a large group. Hookah was not bad and the food looks good. I had potato skins stuffed with chicken and it was delicious. Drinks are delicious also :)

UPDATE REVIEW: Damn! Anita H. Put it down....hahahaha..Ok, I must concur that the people do look GHETTO and were GHETTO...however, to get food that late at night...was a major plus in my book...and for it to be fresh and good...thats a another plus...I totally forgot about the Ghetto folks...maybe, I was having such a great time with the company I was with so it was cool...
Another plus was I like to be outside and enjoy my cocktails....I think this is what had made it nice. Ok Anita! You win...I at least brung my STARS down...to a 4 HA! But, its worth a check out with friends...I agree its no date-night...more for you and your homies...

This place is great! The food was great! The drinks were great! The decor' was great!

I went here for a late night cap to chill with friends and get some much needed food in our tummies! The turkey sliders are to die for! You must get them...the French fries are the bomb!
Ok First - the sliders are fresh and soft on a nice bun..
Second - the French fries are already major seasoned and therefore you do nott need any salt/pepper...nothing..there great just as there served!

The patio is nice to chill, eat, and drink. We sit out on the patio area and enjoy the ATL night life! I would def return to this lounge and Peters St for sure for my major "socialite" take over! The only down-part is that some folks needed a uplift of appearance...HA!....

I have to give 255 a 3 star. I'm somewhat caught in the middle though. This is a GREAT spot for me when I go right after work, since it's the next street over and the bartender (the one that looks like Chante Moore) can pour a hell-of- a-drink. LOVE HER! And the service isn't that bad in the early part of the day up until 8pm.

NOW, when it turns 8:00 it's a TOTALLY different story. I must recommend you go before then. Some how, which completely boggles my mind. They hire these servers with no experience, and then at the end continue to look for new servers. Geeshhhhh

Ok, so that's enough of me ranting about the service so now to the food. A+ all around (no matter what time), o and that's depending on if your server gets it to you before it gets cold LOL.

But, in conclusion of course, they're a new spot in Castleberry, I believe the owners are 1st timers and they have a few kinks to get out of the operation of the joint, but all in all if they paid more attention to the service and NOT the server (depending on how good she looks in shorts) they could have gotten a 4 star from me.

I was really surprised to read all the not so hot reviews about this place because I visited 255 in the early evening hours of Saturday, September 13, with two friends and had the best food and service I've had anywhere in a long long time.

Maybe the management saw these bad reviews and tightened up the staff because we were checked on repeatedly by people who weren't even waiting on us--everybody was so courteous and helpful, and our server, Macleta (pronounced Me-leeta) was AMAZING (not to mention absolutely stunning).

I did notice that the grat was already included, but I don't fault them for that.  I'm an African-American woman who waited tables here in ATL for years, and when you have a largely African American clientele (It's Castleberry--I saw ONE white face in the whole joint), you gotta make sure your staff is taken care of because hey, my people don't tip worth a damn.  I love the hell outta us, but it's the truth, lol.

Anyway, man, the food was incredible.  We got those amazing garlic chicken skewers and the onion rings and two baskets of those to-die-for garlic fries, plus that big sampler platter of their sliders and it was all so so good.

Our bill, with their auto grat, came to about $47, which isn't bad for three people, considering we had food left over and I was waddling out  the place, glad that I wore my stretchy pants.

I am telling everyone I know that I love Macleta, I love this restaurant, I love this food and I WILL be back--probably before this week's out.

For right now I have to give it five stars, although I've only been one time.

I visited about a month ago when it was still very new. After walking past every Friday night (on my way to Slice) I decided to sacrifice my pizza fix and see what 255 Tapas was all about.

I tried to make a reservation but they don't accept it--at least they didn't at that point. My beau and I got a seat within 5 mins and were seated in the patio, which is actually pretty cool and spacious. They have individual outdoor booths as well as benches and tables. To be honest, I don't think I'd ever want to sit inside in comparison to what the outdoor setting has to offer. I went on a fairly busy night and not once did I feel crowded or intruded upon.

At the time they were obviously understaffed but our waitress busted her bum for us and she got our order correct every time. Which was quite difficult considering we ordered half the food menu. (Don't get the wrong impression, I'm a pretty healthy eater; but, I like to try a little bit of everything to get it under my belt all at one time, for future visits.)

We tried various chicken styles, various types of french fries (their are actually plenty), fried shrimp, grilled shrimp and a few other small tapas plates... And let me say they were REALLY REALLY GOOD! They took a tad longer than we liked but nothing unreasonable. Our food didn't taste generic and you could tell someone was really putting time and effort into making good food. The one thing that wasn't perfect is that our fries were not as hot as we would have liked but, everything else was steaming!

I really do hope they iron out the kinks that everyone seems to be mentioning because they really have a good thing going!! Great location, good atmosphere, great for socializing and people watching!

This place is a joke. The first time I went here for comedy night I was impressed that the owner seemed to have it together. Boy was I ever wrong.

I tried to bring a meetup group for comedy night here. I left several messages for the owner with no avail and experienced the worst customer service that I've had in a while.

Tip for the owner: If you want to have return business, check the people who answer your establishment's phone. Your people give black owned businesses a bad name. Oh, and returning messages are also recommend when people want to spend money at your place of business.

If I could give this place no stars, believe me I would.

Not Quite What I Expected!!! I am going to try to make this short and sweet!! (It's going to be hard)

Over the weekend me and a few friends decided to check out this new Tapas spot on Peters Street. First and Foremost..the service started off very bad. We waited almost an hour for the food, by the way it WAS NOT that crowded. We arrived around 8pm and got the COLD food, around 8:45pm.

I guess I am used to the servers knowing the menus inside and out...however it wasn't the case at this particular restaurant/lounge. The waitress did not know anything on the menu and it was my first time there so I just took a gamble and ordered the garlic herb chicken skewers and the crab tots. The food was good with the exception that it was cold. But of course, in ultimate diva fashion, I had to send it back.

Now lets get to the drinks, every drink that I tried to order was a loss cause, because they were out of EVERYTHING...from pomegranate liquor to cranberry juice, to club soda. LOL I was literally boiling because it was my weekend and I truly needed a good cocktail.

Moving on to the bill.....now by the end of our meal, the service had gotten a tad bit better and here's why: Apparently after 9pm the "machine automatically" adds a service charge to the bill. So I asked the waitress is this another form of gratuity...and she seemed as if she didn't want to be totally honest. :) I guess she wanted us to give her an extra tip....NOT!!! At least not this time around.

So as we were leaving, of course we were not happy patrons at all...and we were discussing it amongst each other. In other words we were saying "That is the last time, we will be coming back here". And these two gentlemen stopped us and asked us did we enjoy the restaurant, the food etc. That answer was very easy.....NO! So these two men took us back inside and gave us some frozen alcoholic drinks for free. (They taste like slush puppies, or either I have a very high tolerance) Anyway, these gentlemen are part owners, how ironic?  We run into the owners as were bashing their establishment...gotta love it! Well as most disgruntle patrons do, we expressed our concerns and told them what could have been done to make our visit there more pleasant..and we were on our merry way.

Now to sum this all up: I didn't  enjoy the service in the beginning, however it did get better. After the food was sent back for being cold, it was delicious. The bartender (a guy) was extremely nice...despite the fact they were out of a few things. And the managers actually care about what the patrons think. So despite my bad experience..would I go back? Probably yes, because I am a firm believer that everyone deserves a second chance.

Just another C. Hill juke joint?  For the most part....yes.  However, they do have beer on tap and a rear patio that is worth checking out.   On the other hand, they added tip to my check without warning (only three people) and the waitress asked if we needed change!!!  Nice place for 'see and be seen.'  You just probably won't see me there.

Being a resident of Castleberry Hills there are very few places I can go and grab something with friends and invite coworkers to for food and drinks. 255 is my favorite on this side by far!! Maybe they aren't perfect with the staff because they are kinda young, but if there is a problem I like the fact there is a manager walking around making sure you're okay, always with a smile on his face. He deserves a high five as well as the owners and the cooks. The food is great!! And I feel as though they have the best wings in Atlanta!! Being from here, that says a lot. I was a bit nervous walking into this place for a bday party after reading the reviews. I was pleasantly surprised with the decor- I love brick and muted colors- I hope that was what it really looked like and it wasnt the jack daniels I had to drink prior. It is small and narrow, especially by the downstairs bar area. Saturday was a perfect night to take a stroll out on the patio, I would like to have drinks on the patio there again soon. I got to 255 after my pals had eaten, the reviews werent bad. Service was ok- cocktail waitress had a blank stare most of the time, bartenders were efficient. I will put this on the list to try again-

Okay so the first time I came to this spot it was not crowded when we got there. My friend and I were able to grab a table with no problems. I perused the menu and was happy with the selection available. We received our food ate and were merry. Then came time to pay. After tracking down our waitress she finally brought us the check. I don't know if she was new but it does not take 30-40 mins to  pay for a bill. Not to mention you have people staring you down, wanting a table!!!!! She did not come back. Finally I went up to the register and found our waitress, looking quite disheveled over someone else's check. She said be right back and left me standing there for another 10 mins. Needless to say they have issues with catering to large crowds. Or rather she did. Did not want to allow 1 person to ruin my thoughts so went back a second time this pass weekend. And same thing in regards to seating. But once the food was ordered it took 30-40 minutes to come to the table. I started to eat and there was a string in my Turkey Burger. I was disgusted!!! The manager that walks around, yeah I was quick to call him over and let him know. He said the entree would be no charge, but being that I had a drink and the waitress was cool this time around I wanted to leave her a tip. Come to find out when I checked my bank online they charged me $2 more than what I actually gave for tip. All in all I am through with this spot. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!

Hmm what to say about 255? Attractive interior, good drinks.....thinking of something else to say, but it's not coming up just yet, guess it's not there. Some friends came down to visit from St.Louis in order to ring in the New Years! We ended up going to 255 the day after New Years, we had to park in the vacant U-Haul truck lot across the street, and paid 10 dollars to some guy who looked like he went back into his own damn car and fell asleep. Some parking attendant he was. Once we got inside it was ok. The bouncer tried to hit on me, when that didn't work he hit on my friend. We ignored that and stood around for 15 to 20 minutes waiting on the girl behind the bar. She never took our order, but the waitress that was walking around was more than happy to take our drink order. The patrons there were very stuck up looking, like they had some sense of entitlement that I didn't...ummm hello?? we're in the same club. The drinks were good, the music was great, then some guest dj started doing his thing, and for about 15-20 more minutes we were bored to tears, then he switched genres, and that's when it turned to a party for me and my girls, the line for the bathroom was all the way up the ramp and into the little VIP area, ridiculous. My shoes got stepped on. I was just like fuck it, i'm here to have fun, who cares. The rest of the night went well. All in all, I was probably so drunk that even if the night didn't go well, I wouldn't have known.
