Ok, I love Five Guys but this place serves their burgers on a potato roll! YUM! Delicious variations in burger choices and really good sweet potato fries. The milkshakes are delicious as well.
A must try! -

Needed a strong hit of iron in my diet so stopped by this place - had a Classic burger which was decent and amazingly enough did NOT give me food coma even though it was pretty big/very filling. Definitely worth checking out if you are in this area - it's MUCH better than any 5 Guys burgers I've had.
Proceed for annoyingly detailed description:
I got the classic burger which is: "lettuce, tomatoes, raw or sautéed onions, mayo & choice of cheese on a fresh baked deli bun" $6
The nice girl at the counter didn't ask any of us if we wanted raw or sautéed onions, what kind of cheese we wanted, or how we wanted our burgers cooked - which would have been nice. Also there were pickles in it, which I love but it wasn't listed which is weird. They make it sound like the buns are baked on premises but I don't think they do that at this location because there are tons of prepackaged bags of buns hanging out. Anyway, the bread isn't bad, doesn't have much taste and is more potato bread texture than deli bread which I find is more crusty.
I tasted the Ruben Burger $6.50 which I didn't like and I think they forgot to put the pickles on it which would have been a welcome hit of acidity in a kinda heavy greasy messy burger. Couldn't taste the sauerkraut or russian dressing in it at all. Seemed like the pastrami just made the whole thing too greasy to taste much.
The onion rings were ok - would be fantastic if it had more seasoning. The thick cut fries looked great but didn't taste special, not really seasoned well - maybe they would be great with cheese?
One thing for management if they are reading -- right as we were finishing up someone came around to clean the tables around us and used something like Windex which made the entire area stink of ammonia which is so off-putting when you are eating. Please use another cleaner!! You can really tell the difference in working out the kinks and amazing attention to detail that makes places like Shake Shack an institution. I hope the management really tightens this place up - including the ordering process and getting exactly what you expect on your burger. -

Great burgers
The burgers are pretty good. if you don't like the one you got, I am sure you can find one you like within the 25.
The fries were a rip off and poorly seasoned. it was also kinda soggy. maybe use olive oil?
setting is mixed between a 1950s diner and 5 guys. clean though. -

Been here twice, and love the variety of burgers. Loved the gyro burger and also tried the turkey bacon cheeseburger which was good. Look forward to going back and trying the pork burgers they have. Service is okay, when I went in the evening the service was a bit better that when I went for lunch. But this place is worth a visit, milk shakes and fries are good as well. The chili on the chili cheese fries is not that good so avoid that but other than that good burger joint.

Haven't been disappointed yet since the first time I went here.
When you first walk in, the place does remind you of 5 Guys because of the red and white color theme of the place. But that's about it as to the similarities. The burgers are delish and they definitely have a burger for everyone's taste buds.
So far my favorite is the Gyro burger which is a lamb burger with gyro meat on top of it with the tzatziki sauce. Tastes just like a Gyro on a bun =)
My other favorite has to be the Rueben burger. It's basically a burger with a Rueben sandwich on top of it. So you'll get hot pastrami, swiss cheese, saurkraut and Russian Dressing on top of your burger. Def a must try if you're a Rueben lover.
No complaints about the sides. Nothing too special but nothing to complain about. -

I hope 25 Burgers stays open because they have moved into the storefront where restaurants go to die. It's a spot that just seems to be constantly turning over.
Anyway, I really enjoyed my burger which I think is key. The staff was friendly and helpful. My wife is a vegetarian and can't eat gluten so I was not hopeful that I could find something for her. Fortunately the burger of the month was a portabello mushroom cap which is right in her wheelhouse.
The place was clean and bright. it reminded me of a five guys or a Johnny Rockets. I think faux diner is such a weird theme in New Jersey which is so full of actual diners but I don't have a problem with it. It had tons of black and white photos of old movie stars hanging up so I guess the theme is retro diner?
I ordered an El Paso burger, the aforementioned portobello mushroom burger, boardwalk fries (which are just fries), and onion rings to go.
I found the El Paso burger to be much larger than expected. Really a big burger with a nice char to it and nice meaty flavor. It was spicy but not overwhelming. They bake the rolls in house and the roll was nice but for me nothing special.
The fries were very good and I like a small portion of fries for $1.50. I guess small is not the right word. I mean I don't now if this true for every 5 Guys but the one in Middletown when you order fries they give you the 12 oz cup full and then fill your bag with fries. That's ridiculous. I thought it was a perfectly acceptable portion of fries and priced correctly. Very tasty, fluffy inside crispy outside, skins on. There's a picture.
I thought the onion rings were good but not great. They were $4 which I think is a lot for a portion of onion rings. They came with their "special onion ring sauce". Spoiler alert: It's barbecue sauce mixed with mayonaise. I think it's silly to call it a special sauce but I guess McDonalds does it with thousand island dressing so maybe it's something people want/expect?
My wife thought her portobello mushroom burger was a little bland but in fairness I ordered it with no cheese because she's lactose intolerant in addition to everything else she can't eat. I know. She's a party.
I would definitely return and have a burger and fries and maybe try a shake.
Here's a weird thing about 25 burgers: they don't have 25 different burgers. Because there are 4 chicken sandwiches in the 25 burger choices. And a chicken sandwich is not a burger. There's also a crab burger which I think is more accurately a crab cake, right? Well maybe the crab thing is nitpicky but chicken sandwiches are not burgers.
Overall I think it's a better quality burger than 5 guys. I also liked it more than Bobby's Burger Palace (which I found unremarkable and I think about $2 more per burger. ) -

There's one where I live in Bound Brook. I always get my Bullseye BBQ Burger which has Crispy Onion Straws, Bacon, Bullseye BBQ Sauce, Cheddar Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato and Mayo on a Fresh Baked Miami Onion Bun with side order of Sweet Potatoe Fries WHOOOOO!!
This new one that opened in Matawan is close to where my sister lives. I decided to change it up and get a Chipotle Bison Burger which is Fossil Farms Natural Raised Buffalo Meat Marinated in Chipotle Seasonings, Topped w/Crispy Onion Straws, Cheddar Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, and Mayo on a Fresh Baked Bun with a side order of.....you guessed it "Sweet Potatoe Fries", im basically saying that any burger you get you must have these fries!! THE BEST...the burgers are awesome too!! -

25 Burgers opened up quietly after the previous restaurant shut down ... but it seems to be doing well. I have never been to 25 Burgers and been the only group there.
I have been here twice ... the first time I ordered a crab burger, which was just OK (that is why I am giving this 3 stars). The crab was mushy and seemed to have a lot more filler than crab. The next time I had a Teriyaki chicken burger which was much better.
The staff has always been very friendly and helpful... and I will definitely go back, although I probably won't be a regular. The variety of options is great so there is something for everyone in your group. -

Great Burger Place. I prefer 25 Burgers over 5 Guys. I recommend getting the Turkey Bacon Burger!

Just tried this place out the other week. The short version is that the food was great. The Bullseye burger was fantastic, and the prices are very reasonable.
I think my only problem was that it's a little confusing what side of the register to line up on and which side to wait for pick ups. I never actually figured it out, either - I just sort of milled about and they got to me. -

A little expensive - $8.00 for a burger. Two burgers, onion rings, fries and one water was $20+
The burger was also a little too greasy for me. I don't mind juicy, but this was greasy. I preferred the burger at Loving Hut across the street. When I cook burgers, I use 97% fat free meat. That would have made it better. Gets 3 stars since my husband liked it more than me. -

I first tried 25 Burgers in Westfield and it was just okay for me, mainly because of the experience I had. When I found out from my cousin, who also happens to be a burger lover, that one opened up in Matawan, I knew I had to give it a second try.
This time around, I placed an order. I ordered a Turkey Bacon Cheeseburger for me and my Mom and a Burger for my Dad. The person who took my order seemed to be confused since a plain Hamburger was nowhere to be found on the menu so I then said a Cheeseburger without the cheese and all made sense in the world. I also ordered a side of Onion Rings & Sweet Potato Fries. I had to repeat what I wanted a few times because the person taking my order couldn't hear very well because of how loud it was over there. He said the order should be ready in about 10-15 min. Their website states "Call Ahead. Ready in 10 Minutes". This was true.
When I arrived to the store there was a long line. There were also a lot of people waiting for their orders to be ready, standing off to the side of the cashier. There was only one cashier taking the orders. I looked up hoping to see signs stating "Pick-up orders Here", however there was nothing to be found. There was no way in hell that I was going to stand in that long line to pick up my order which should have been ready by now so I stood by the people who were waiting for their numbers to be called. As soon as the cashier freed up with his current customer, I swooped in asking if there was a separate line for call-in orders. The teenage boy looked confused giving me a questionable no. Luckily, the manager came over and took care of me. I was the only "pick-up" order. Unfortunately since there was only one cash register, the teenage boy had to stop taking customers for the manager to ring me up. It was hectic and not efficient. It may be because this location is still new, but they need to have more cashiers working at one time, take call-in orders in the back so they can thoroughly hear their customers, and have a designated "pick-up order" section.
I had no complaints with the food once again. I enjoyed my burger, onion rings, and sweet potato fries. I loved the dipping sauces that came with the sides too! My parents found the burgers too big and couldn't finish them in one sitting, obviously the opposite of me who was able to stuff everything in her face! I hope 3rd time's a charm, hopefully there will be better circumstances surrounding the food! -

I have been here several times and always had a freshly cooked burger and fries. Very tasty food with a nice seating area. I guess a burger, fries and soda costs about $10. Not a bad price for the quality and quantity. Kids and seniors have a special price that is about half that price for a smaller portion. Good place for kids.

I always drive past here on my way to work and when it finally opened I had to check it out. I ordered the BBQ burger with cheese fries. I have to say that it was amazing and that I am really happy this placed opened up. I have been looking a great burger place around this area for awhile and it sucks that the closest 2 5 guys around me are in middletown and on route 9 somewhere. The wait staff is also really friendly. They were patient with me since there are 25 burgers to try and I had no idea where to start. I really want to try their nacho cheese burger. The cool thing about this place that it isn't just about beef but they have a couple chicken burgers, a turkey burger and a veggie burger. My parents are vegetarians so I will definitely be getting them those burgers as well.

great Burgers, love the variety that 5 Guys and the other similar places do not offer. Cuban Burger matched the place I ate at in Miami.

This is a good burger joint with a nice selection and plenty of side choices unlike five guys. I wasn't that big a fan of their fries but any burger joint that serves milk shakes knows what they are doing. Not sure how long it will last. The only place that seems to get business in that strip mall is Starbucks but i hope it stays. Definitely worth a try.
