For lifting weights, this newer facility is actually a solid gym.  They have a good selection of free weights with two power cages and hammer strength machines.  The weight room is more spaciously laid out than other 24 Hour Fitness locations and there tends to be more serious lifters here than other locations.

The primary drawback to this gym is the cardio area.  The machines are shoe-horned into a narrow space - almost like an after-thought.   There some TV's to watch, but not nearly as many as other locations.  If you don't want to watch TV, you are reduced to staring at the entrance to the daycare area and some vending machines.

Overall this location is very clean and is much less busy than other 24 Hour Fitness locations around Portland.

THIS RATING IS FOR THE ZUMBA CLASS:

I love going to 24... go pretty much every day during the work week. My fave is the pilates class, also love Yoga and Cycle. Watch out for the Zumba classes though... they get overcrowded. Got my head bitten off two different times by other zumba-ers. Really think this 24 hour should limit their class sizes with passes, like some of the other 24 hours do. Today's class was WAY too crowded, and a lady behind me kept asking me to move forward a bit (even though I was in my line) and then when we're moving backwards, I'd bump into her and she would tell me I'm too close and I'd hear her  complain to her friend whenever i ended up standing in front of her... I'm in my line lady... where the heck am I supposed to be???

I'm motivated. Getting another RotD has motivated me to write a review again. Getting a 24 Hour Fitness membership for two years has motivated me to work out. So looks like this motivation works in favor of writing a review for this fine establishment.

I have only had my membership since the middle of August but I have been using it just about everyday. The times I go depends on what I have going on in the day so I have been as early as around 8:30 in the morning and going as late as 9. The busiest I've seen it is between 9 and 10 because of how many classes that are going on. Even though it is so busy, I've never had trouble finding a parking space, locker, cardio machine or weights. Since this location is in the middle of the suburbs you do get a lot of parents and some that are probably still in high school during the prime time of the days. Maybe once summer is over, things will change. The only thing I haven't gotten to do yet is swim because there is usually a class going on or there are just loads of people using the pool. The only time I've seen it empty is when its getting cleaned. Go figure.

Everything has been super clean. I see most people wipe things down after they use them plus they have the same cleaning staff there every morning scrubbing away. Speaking of staff, everyone seems to be pretty friendly. They always smile when you walk in and somehow several already seem to remember my name. I had my fitness schedule the day after I signed up. The trainer (Jana) I had has only been on staff for about a month but she was great. If I could actually afford personal training sessions I would request her!

There are loads of classes to take at this gym. Only thing they don't seem to have is kick boxing but I'm okay with that. I'm just looking forward to taking some of the zumba and hip hop classes they have. Looks like I'll just have to do an update whenever I get some classes in...

Working out is good for the soul. It unclogs your pores, releases endorphins that'll make you feel bliss, and eventually give you that sexy body you've always dreamed of.

This Vancouver Tech location facilitates all of the above and more! The place doesn't get too busy like its counterparts in PDX, so working out does not consist of strategically planning out what machine you will jump on based on occupancy. However it's peak time is between 5-8pm M-Th, so I try to avoid that time frame as much as possible.

Staff is mediocre...come on it's a 24 Hour fitness--the main reason why people go is because of the 24 hour characteristic. If not, they'd be a Bally's or some other higher end fitness facility.

Overall, a good meat and potatoe's gym.

My favorite gym that I've ever been to.

I first started going to this gym back when I was a high schooler in 2001 or so when it was only open for a couple years...

It's clean; the equipment is new; the hours are great; the spacing within the gym is decent; the staff, although not particularly friendly, won't bother you at all.

My parents both go here and I can speak for them when I say they definitely do enjoy it just as much as I do.  They go early in the morning at like 7 or 8am and it's not that packed.

I go during the 'peak hours' at around 4 or 5 o'clock and although it's packed, you can always find parking and there is always a machine where you can use.

My favorite things about this gym is the availability, the location, and the equipment/facility.

Never again will I find a gym with all those things... I now live in Seattle and have visited a lot of gyms and I just can't find one with all those positives as the Tech Center 24 hour fitness!

To the members that go here... cherish it!

This gym has a few things going for it.  The hours are great, the gyms are big, and prices can be reasonable, if you get a good sale.  But they can be frustrating as hell too.  Take the new admission system.  They want your fingerprint and a unique, ten digit pin code.  Why do they need both?  Both are unique identifiers.  People have been sent to the electric chair based on a print alone. I asked them and was told that they don't store the print.  If that's the case, why do we have to have it read each time, they would have nothing to compare it to?  It's slow too.  Who wants to stand in line when you're in a hurry to complete your workout and get to work?

They have no concept of customer service.  They don't provide paper towels to clean/dry your hands after washing them.  They only have the noisy, slow, ineffective air dryers.  Also, the different gyms used to be unique, each with their own equipment.  That was great.  One gym was best for legs, another for back.  Now, all gyms are virtually identical.  They gave away the equipment that didn't match.

Oh, and the personal training they charge for.  I'm betting orthopedic surgeons paid them to teach those dangerous moves.  The exercises they have people do are crazy; scary, dangerous crazy.  The only thing that makes sense is that some idiot invented exercises that no one ever saw before, and charged for a "certificate" after completing his personal training course.  Don't avail yourself to their training, even if you won a free course.  There's a good chance you'll get hurt.  Lastly, forget going at prime time.  You'll have to wait for parking and for most pieces of equipment.

Great place to get a workout! The group fitness is fun and the instructors are good. I found a great trainer that helped me reach my goal to lose weight. It was super easy it was to join.

This is the second gym in the area I have joined. I really have enjoyed it. My daughter goes to the kids club several times a week and I have a trainer who is very good at motivating me to get in shape. They have a lot of classes and keep the gym very clean and it even smells decent.  Worth checking out.
